Casa Islena was a dream! Such beautiful, quiet location. The staff was friendly and helpful. The ambience was warm, quiet but friendly. The decor and grounds are beautiful and well kept. The trees by the water, lights, and fire pits was a great touch specially at night. The rooms, towels, linens were immaculate as far as cleanliness and smelled so good. The food at the restaurant downstairs was so delicious. This could be pulled off as a romantic getaway or a quiet spot for a small family, laid back vacay. Will recommend to anyone! cant wait to return!

Google
Came here only for the food, and it certainly didn't disappoint! I had a wonderful empanada and a fantastic chicken sandwich – both were absolutely great. An added bonus was the location, which overlooks the ocean and offers plenty of refreshing shade. Highly recommend!

Google
Unbeatable view, beautiful venue at day and night, very friendly and helpful staff. Fun waves right out front. Amazing restaurant on property. Very charming boutique hotel that is much more relaxing than bigger resorts but still a fun place to stay for kids too. Any questions/concerns we had were addressed adequately by the kind staff. Looking forward to making Casa Islena a regular stay each year.

Google
Best choice in Rincon! The hotel is very conviniently located on the beach with a great restaurant and bar. The staff at the desk and restaurant are very helpful. They added fit pits on the sand by the beach which my wife loved. Great to chill by them under the stars. Thank you for another wonderful stay!

Google
Our stay at Casa Islena was magical. This beautiful boutique-style hotel is oceanfront and our room was spacious with a stunning balcony overlooking the sea. Waking up to the sound of waves and sunshine was truly unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with complimentary champagne, fresh chips and pico de gallo, custom t-shirts, and my favorite chocolates were waiting for us in the room! Such a thoughtful touch that made us feel instantly at home. The hotel’s beachfront bar and restaurant were incredible and the vibes are always on point with the live music. Food was also absolute perfection. I highly recommend the avocado toast for breakfast, churrasco for dinner, and the coconut flan for dessert! SO GOOD. Staff members were all extremely friendly and bilingual. They made everything feel easy and welcoming. We also loved being able to enjoy the entertainment from the pool or beach, it felt like the perfect blend of relaxation and fun. Bonus: Ginger the security cat! cutest part of the stay! She made her rounds daily, adding even more charm to this already incredible spot. Casa islena is a great spot for a Puerto Rican vacation or for a dreamy venue for a wedding or event. We can’t wait to come back :)

My wife and I have stayed here on 3 different occasions, the restaurant food is delicious, the drinks are made with fresh ingredients and the atmosphere is magical. We always book the upstairs balcony room for the best view of the sunsets. The owner, Chris is always very nice to us and the staff are usually friendly as well. I teach jiu-jitsu and I’m able to visit the nearby gym, Rincon JJ, which is 15 min from here, so that is a nice plus in my book.

Though we did not stay in the hotel (next time we will!) we did dine at Casa Islena for brunch and dinner on Easter. For brunch, we sat at the bar instead of waiting for a table. Our bartender was interesting and attentive. At dinner, we were at a table. Both meals were expertly crafted and the service was more refined than any we had found in that area. Definitely go if you are in the Rincon area.

Google
We didn’t stay at the property but visited several times for breakfast. The food is good, the selections were varied and gave good options for all of us. But the real winner is the view. Right on the pool deck looking out over the beach. It was fun to watch the surfers in the water each morning. Parking is a bit limited but there is street parking always available very close.

Yelp
Beautiful Oceanside resort! Relaxing atmosphere with EXCELLENT SERVICE Elva, Chris and Gabriel are the best hosts and should be called out for their excellent customer service Will be back!

Yelp
Really enjoyed our meal here. There was live music by the pool, which made for a fun and romantic vibe. I absolutely loved the watermelon feta salad.

Yelp
We stopped in for lunch after a day at the beach. What an amazing lunch we had. It was suggested by some locals as a very good place to have lunch. We started off with some pumpkin hummus which was absolutely delicious. For our lunch entree I had the pernil grilled cheese, it was so good! A large sandwich with plenty of flavor, so glad I picked this. My girlfriend had the huevos rancheros which she enjoyed as well. For dessert she had a coconut flan and I had some buñuelos (sp.) essentially they were like beignets and they were delicious. What a satisfying meal with an amazing view of the beach. The service was spectacular, Ariana did an amazing job of giving us great options and serving a wonderful meal, she also made sure the beers were extra cold. To top it off, we were able to jump into the pool after lunch. PERFECT! You gotta try this spot.

Yelp
Stayed here for two nights, a great place right on the beach with wonderful restaurant and bar. Friendly staff.

Yelp
Brunch was so good we came back that evening for dinner. Some of the best food we had in PR!
google avatar

Kelly S.

Yelp
Headed here for lunch after being turned away in the evening because they were full. We're glad we came back. We were quickly seated, with the pool on one side and the ocean on the other .. quite nice. Our server, and the bartender, was an efficient, friendly guy and took good care of us. We had salads, one with shrimp and the other with tuna and they were fantastic. The shrimp was particularly good. Drinks were well made and tasty. This is a nice place for a meal and worth your time.
google avatar

Yelp
This resteraunt was very fun because of the pool in the middle of the place. The strawberry juice was very sweet and good. The fries paired with ketchup were very good and savory. The yogurt parfait was a little bit too bland but overall pretty good.
google avatar

Yelp
The best Sunday funday on the island! Pool, food & drinks, & dj! The bartenders were great. Our waitress was very attentive for all the tables she had. Still thinking about those steak skewers! Best thing I had the whole trip!
google avatar

Kelly M.

Yelp
The view here is great. The drinks were very good. Highly recommend trying this restaurant out for breakfast or lunch. The Caesar salad was good, but for $12 I wish it was a little bigger.
google avatar

Emma R.

Yelp
Love casa islena!! Usually would just go for the DJ/pool party on Sundays (that ends at 3pm by the way) but recently tried it for dinner and was truly impressed. I had the short rib dish which was fantastic. For brunch I had the poke bowl, a friend had the salmon platter (huge portion of salmon but came with goat cheese instead of cream cheese which was a bit odd), and another had the breakfast burrito. Everything was very high quality. I'm also very picky about my espresso and it wasn't bad here! Come on a weekend night for dinner for a relaxing acoustic set by the pool, Sunday before 3 for a Vegas style pool party, or a weekday morning for a relaxing lunch. It has it all. Plus, it's right on the beach which I always look for! Just be aware they close between 2-5 to switch over to dinner service.
google avatar

Val G.

Yelp
Amazing brunch there! Visiting PR spontaneously and went to this place due to a friend recommending it. Food was incredible! Highly recommended the French toast and the grilled cheese! We went on St Patty's day so wait was expected to be long but we got our drinks and food surprisingly fast. We of course took advantage of pool and beach access! Would be coming again!
google avatar

Kati P.

Yelp
It's lives up to the reviews. Breakfast, yes! Brunch, yes! Poolside, make sure you're there Sunday mornings for the DJ. Dinner absolutely blew our minds. Tasteful live music on a Saturday night. We had the shrimp scampi and Churassco. We loved our food, excellent tender steak. The white wine sauce for the scampi was delicious. Our server was informative and helpful. When we came for breakfast I had the salmon, deconstructed salmon bagel , lots of fresh salmon. Their fish is daily, their watermelon juice is my favorite. Really everything here has been wonderful. Highly recommended. To note ; they close at 3 open again at 5 and open till 10pm

Yelp
I went there with my daughter she is 26 years old, from August 16 to August 21 2024. The service provided by the staff and one of the owners Chris was friendly and easy to talk to, they were catering to us. Casa Isleña is beautiful, elegant and clean. You can have weddings and parties and the food is superb .I will stay there again for sure, and I highly recommend it. I give it six stars!

Yelp
Walked to this location from our villa. I specifically wanted to sit at the beach side seats and they were available! Friendly and attentive bartender for our server. Ceviche and red snapper were delicious. Views before, during and after sunset were priceless.
google avatar

Samantha S.

Yelp
Loved the views and the food! The watermelon juice was unique and the croissant French toast was delicious. Really enjoyed eating breakfast watching waves. Friendly staff. Only feedback was the bottom of the French toast was a little too crispy
google avatar

Santiago E.

Yelp
First time staying here and we will stay here anytime we come to Rincon. Right next to the beach, can hear the waves. Service is great, you can relax by the pool.

Yelp
Went there for brunch and it was great They had a DJ playing and it was very entertaining. Great vibe and I will be backstage with

Yelp
Our friends highly recommended Casa Islena to us. It is a beautiful Inn right on Sandy Beach. So convenient to have a restaurant where we were staying, we had dinner our first night and brunch a couple of times during our stay. We sat out on the little patio to our room (ocean view) each morning and watched the surfers. I loved that I could walk across the parking lot to do yoga on the beach in the morning. We can't wait to visit again!

Yelp
If there was one place I'd like to stay forever, it would be Casa Isleña. This small, boutique hotel has everything. A hornet restaurant, beautiful views, a great pool and awesome live music. The staff is second to none as well. Highly recommend staying here if you're in Rincón.

Yelp
Beach and brunch at Casa Isleña. The place is right on the water, great views and happy vibes. The food was super fresh, delicious and reasonably priced. Must try!

Lisette C.

Yelp
We were very disappointed by our experience after coming here on a recommendation. The service was not worthy of the caliber restaurant they purport to be. The server was inattentive, did not communicate, nor checked on us when the food was taking a very long time to be served. Once the food started being served, it was only ready for a part of the party. There was a significant delay for the rest of the party. Overall, the food was good, but they completely missed it with 2 basic Puerto Rican staples: tostones and yucca. It was clearly evident that the plantains for the tostones had already started ripening, and the Yucca had no flavor and required salt. My Puerto Rican mother and I would be embarrassed to serve anything like that to anyone. Had the other dishes not been good, this would be a 1-star review. Had the service matched the level of restaurant this is supposed to be, then this review would have been a 4-star review. We will not risk returning to this establishment and will certainly not be recommending it.

Yelp
The food was absolutely delicious. Sometimes restaurants attached to inns can be mediocre but not this place. Started of brunch with grapefruit mimosas.. they where strong and delicious. For food we got steak and eggs and the Huevos rancheros. Both where fresh and came out quickly! I am not the biggest fan of steak and I thought it was so tasty. The portion sizes where good as well. I cant forget about the beautiful view. We sat right next to the water and watched people surf. The staff is also very friendly and give great suggestions of places to go in the area. This is a must if you are in the area !
google avatar

Yelp
Brunch by the pool, on the Oceanside.. need I say more?! Ok... I'll add to that.. price, staff and vibes were awesome . I can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Beautiful atmosphere and live music! Great service and the food was delicious! Lots of cocktail options - the ceviche was fresh and yummy. We all split several of the menu items and everything was great! Bunnuelos at the end of the night were the perfect topping!

Emily L.

Yelp
My husband and I decided last-minute to get carry out dinner from here and felt like we stumbled into paradise! Had a drink at the bar overlooking the water and the last of the sunset while we waited for our food. Live musician played a nice set while families and couples had dinner or played in the pool. The whole scene was casual but still somehow elegant. I went back twice the next day, once for some drinks and once for some food with my kids. Both times, carry out again-- the location is so convenient to the beach and we loved being able to walk back and forth from where we set up to swim and surf for the day. The staff was so friendly. We ordered the wrong thing by accident and they quickly replaced our dish at no extra cost. Be ready to wait 20 minutes for your carry out-- this is not fast food-- but the time passes quickly with the good conversation and lovely setting. We've never dined in but I can only imagine that that would be a lovely experience too. I would return with my family, for a date, or for an evening with friends.

Yelp
Casa Islena sadly has changed. It is no longer "a place of tranquility and relaxation" as the website indicates. it is now more of a night club than a hotel. I am glad to see that since our stay last week (2/14-2/17/24) an alert has been added to their website about the 7 day a week night club ambiance. You need to know that the musicians bring loud, huge speakers, so you will hear the music and DJ all through the hotel (we met guests from the upstairs rooms who shared the same experience) and more predominantly in the two rooms next to the pool (where we stayed) Also, the website states the music ends at 9pm. It doesn't and instead it ends at 10pm, although the concierge told us 9:30pm but the restaurant staff kept the loud music going until 10pm. This also means that the drunk restaurant guests stay late. The restaurant staff also have to clean up. They move tables, bang dishes and talk loudly late into the night. We couldn't go to bed until midnight when the loud music, restaurant staff and non hotel guests left. The restaurant opens early at 7am so you are awaken by moving tables and the kitchen banging dishes etc. You also can't relax by the pool since the pool area has been replaced by restaurant tables. Therefore, you have to share the pool with many restaurant guests. We were here on a vacation, but I also wouldn't select it for business travel. I would have to head out to the beach area (no connection) to work and take business calls. We have visited Casa Islena in the past and truly enjoyed our stay; thus the reason we selected to stay here again. We had no idea of the changes the new ownership made. Had we known of the new "ambiance" as the owner told us we would have easily selected a different hotel. Full, honest disclosure of the new ambiance would have been much appreciated. Also, if you have a car, hotel guests do not have parking priority. Most nights we had to park away from the hotel since the limited hotel parking is taken by all the night club guests. Sadly, we will not be returning to this once beautiful and once truly tranquil hotel

Yelp
Located right on Antonio's beach. Morning brunch goes from 8am-1pm. Menu has around 15 items but each one is really affordable and everything looks delicious. We got the 3 egg scramble with bacon and goat cheese. Every bite left me wanting more.

Michele M.

Yelp
Best spot on Sandy beach hands down. Love the food and drinks. Live music is an added bonus!

Olybells B.

Yelp
Great evening poolside at this lovely spot on the beach. We walked from our hotel and enjoyed a cocktail whilst we waited for our table. The drinks were beautifully presented and tasty. The appetizers were delicious and the entrees are good, varied menu. I loved my Kingfish of the day with vegetables. Good service with live music to accompany your meal. Great spot!
google avatar

Yelp
This place is perfect. Lovely delicious food, unrivaled setting and great service. We've been here many times and never been disappointed.

K W.

Yelp
Such a great place! Drinks are delicious and food is amazing. The view doesn't hurt either. We have eaten brunch and dinner and both times had an amazing time.

Hannah G.

Yelp
Came here for dinner and was not dissapointed. The ceviche and pinchos are so fresh. My friends really enjoyed their fish and meat entrees. I ordered the poke bowl, my only complaint is that the rice was undercooked, so there was a hard bite that kind of took over the flavors of the dish. The desserts were also amazing. I would definitely come back!
google avatar

Adam Cory O.

Yelp
Very happy with our stay. Took a few weeks researching the area and decided to give Isleña a try. It is directly on the beach, very well kept and absolutely beautiful scenery with a nice and helpful staff. Delicious food also if the kitchen is open. Tamboo is a five minute walk down the beach. We would definitely stay here again if the opportunity arises. ** My only buyer beware is the pool chairs. They are metal and very top heavy. Both myself and my girlfriend slammed out fingers in the while lowering the. My finger is broken. However I can't say that's their fault.

Bethany F.

Yelp
This place has the BEST vibe. So chill, yet chic and modern with a great selection of food and drinks. We were able to go from the pool to dinner and our room was right around the corner. We would have loved to have stayed more nights!
google avatar

Maria-Bonnie C.

Yelp
Memorial Weekend! We got this room by a "oferton" and the still treated us like VIP. This hotel is for people who like to surf or enjoy the surf community. The have a very nice pool but the beach is for surfers. the rooms are beautiful! we stayed in the 203 second floor with pool and beach view!! we will return!!
google avatar

William B.

Yelp
After a night at Beside the Pointe, we got a good look at the Casa Islena and set off to see how expensive a room would be. We were staying for a couple of off season weeknights and the place was clearly not full, and we were offered a rate measurably less than the one on the website. We took it and had a blast. The place borders Sandy Beach-- a great place to surf-- and the parking lot is packed in the morning with local surfers. There is also a peaceful swimming pool (with a view of the ocean), as well as a series of stony patios (with views of the pool and ocean), free wireless internet, and other minor comforts. The reception staff keeps pretty limited hours during the off season so the place was a little deserted except for us and a couple other guests, but that was just what we wanted at the time.

Yelp
Casa Islena is hidden on a small road, across from a cow pasture on the edge of a rain forest. The low Spanish wall that fences in the resort is broken by two large wooden doors. Through those doors is a peaceful, fun resort with a pool, small restaurant and bar and directly across from the property is the cool aqua marine of the Caribbean ocean. We got to Casa Islena after a morning of hellish travel and were instantly rejuvenated and welcomed by the friendly staff. Being a New Yorker my first reaction to new people is usually contempt, but the staff at Casa Islena were so warm (in fact the whole island) and laid back that we felt instantly at home. Then, we got to our room. It was bigger than most studio apartments in Manhattan, with double swinging doors that opened onto our private balcony--which was a few steps from the shoreline. There was ample air conditioning and for some reason cable TV. (Who watches television on vacation?) We were totally alone and at peace. Casa Islena is right in the Puntas area and near several fun bars and great surf breaks. It's also along a beautiful shoreline that was once the defensive strong point for the Spanish navy so there are long paths that stretch along the shore and walls with cannon holes in them. If you're up for the walk, you can keep going until you get to Marias or beyond. But there is really no reason to stray far from Islena. Right up the beach is Tamboo, Bungers and Casa Verde. The resort is totally open to guests, so you can drink as long as the bar is open (or just buy a bottle or two up the road), swim in the pool or just hang out on the deck. If you're going to Rincon, I can't think of better place to stay.

Corey W.

Yelp
Some of the best ambience in Rincon. Seating right next to the pool, tiki torches in the beach. Menu is tight, but well done. Some of the best food I've had in my three months and Rincon. Great service and drink menu.
google avatar

Juanita W.

Yelp
This place is a piece of paradise in Rincon! We loved the pool area and spent many happy hours in the water or in the comfortable deck lounges. Our rooms had a little outdoor living room that we used nearly every day. We had breakfast the every day. You must try the banana pancakes and a mimosa made with passion fruit juice instead of orange juice. The restaurant and bar staff were super friendly and accommodating. I got a massage in my room that the hotel staff helped me to set up, and Scott was such a great masseuse. My favorite time of day is early morning on the deck with coffee and passion fruit juice, listening to the ocean. Sigh... I am ready to return right now!

Sandra D.

Yelp
Food very good. Ambiance, oceanfront. Lovely spot. Owner, very personable. Good luck to you!

Douglas D.

Yelp
I've been here 4 times- the new owner Chris is awesome . Certainly made me feel very welcomed. And exhibited the great qualities of going that extra mile. If you surf - or even if you don't - the place is heaven. And Barefoot yoga/ in his property - is magical

Danielle S.

Yelp
Recently stayed at Casa Islena with two girlfriends and and had a great vacation. Pros: Staff - very friendly, responsive to emails, gave us great directions, very hospitable Walking distance to great bars/restaurants in the area (Tamboo, Casa Verde, Pool Bar, Ode to the Elephant) Located on a beautiful quiet beach Nice pool, comfortable lounge chairs practically on the beach Cons: Decor in room was a bit outdated, TV was old and didn't really work Food was decent, menu was limited but servers were very friendly I would return and definitely recommend to anyone who is looking to stay in Rincon!

Agnes F.

Yelp
Just got back from an annual trip to Rincon...I have previously stayed in other spots around town and this is by far the best. From the room/view (highly recommend room 254), from the staff (all of the front desk staff, Smiley at breakfast, Amanda at dinner, and everyone else) to the overall location (walking distance to Casa Verde and Tamboo, not to mention the ocean right in front of you)..you just can't beat it.

Yelp
This is a review of the restaurant. Casa Islen~a is a charming, small hotel in the Sandy Beach area in Rincon. The decor is simple but beautiful. Bar and restaurant area have a tropical feel, perfect for a romantic, sunset dinner, which is exactly what the hubby and I had on our most recent trip to Rincon. The menu is limited but everything we had was delicious! It is tapas styled, so perfect for sharing. For main courses we had a steak plate and a fish plate (which had an awesome coconut curry sauce). They were both perfectly cooked and seasoned. For appetizers we had a chorizo and cheese plate and the meat empanadilla. Service was excellent. Very reasonable prices. Highly recommend and will definitely be back!!!
google avatar

Todd B.

Yelp
Highly recommended! Highly affordable! The pool is absolutely gorgeous! Beautiful scenery. The rooms where ok, on par with "Pureto Rico" 5 stars.
google avatar

Polly B.

Yelp
Holy smokes check your bill the El Presidente beer is $10.95 EACH. The pina coladas are tepid but only $6. It was $80 for two salads and one pina and four beers. Save your dough and go to the Red Flamboyan it's just up the road!!!
google avatar

Laura G.

Yelp
what a seriously beautiful spot. great restaurant for tapas. although drinks were flavorless :( i'll know to order wine next time. my boyfriend and i ordered ordered a bunch of dishes but the two that stood out were the empanadillas! we ordered both the portabello mushroom, and a meat one. they were so good we ordered two more after we finished the rest of our tapas. service was friendly, ambience was nice. i don't know if i would return if i'm in rincon for a short time because there are so many other great restaurants but i would like to try the brunch!
google avatar

Roachy D.

Yelp
This is a surprising find in Rincon. While there are plenty of places to find bar food, this is a gourmet restaurant with interesting tapas and cocktail menus. The food menu is small, but everything, including the cream cheese flan, is fresh and well executed. The location is gorgeous, the service is attentive, and the food is truly remarkable - you will not regret giving Casa Isleña a try.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing! My girlfriend and I travel a lot and we are not easily impressed but this place is top notch! The entire staff is extremely friendly, helpful and accommodating. The hotel itself is cute, quaint and relaxing and the restaurant serves delicious food with reasonable prices. There is a Yoga studio next door and good surfing right out front. So perfect, 5 stars!
