I had a truly fantastic experience taking the market cooking tour at Casa Jacaranda. Our gastonomist Ana was so passionate and detailed in both providing education about the culinary history of Mexico and also in the kitchen. We had clear direction, many drinks and many laughs! We designed our own menu and The food we made was incredible. Casa Jacaranda is both a very organized kitchen and feels like you’re in your abuelas home.

I am writing this in a near food coma state (as promised). We had a fabulous group of 8 people. Everyone was willing to jump in and contributed to the laughs, learning and great food. Class was very hands-on if you wanted it to be. The little tips and tricks for keeping a fish taco from sticking to the pan, or puffing up our handmade tortillas and so much more were invaluable. Above all, Emilio is not only a knowledgeable chef but a worthy instructor. Able to explain history and theory with simplicity, humour and passion. THE highlight of our trip. Don’t pass up the opportunity.

A Mexico City must! We chose the lunch experience which starts at the market and unfolds as a full day experience. Every detail was well thought out and everyone had a chance to participate. The best part ... enjoying the fruits of our labour. Exceptional!!

Our family was in love with Mexico City, and it exceeded our expectations, but we all agreed that the Cooking Class was by far our favorite thing we did! Starting with the market, and our hands-on class in such a beautiful setting, ending with an amazing meal in the dining room was such special event. We do Cooking classes and most of the cities we visit and this was our favorite one we’ve ever done. Thank you so much for an unforgettable day.!

Don't hesitate – the cooking class at Casa Jacaranda is an unforgettable and truly unique experience for travelers ready to explore Mexico's culinary depths. Among the many food tours, cooking classes, and market tours I've taken, this one is in a league of its own. For those eager to delve beyond the surface into Mexico's rich culinary heart, this is a must-do.The experience is impeccably curated, from the engaging market visit to the hands-on creation of famous Mexican dishes. It is a beautiful way to enjoy good food and good people.

Our cooking class was the highlight of our trip to Mexico City! Chef Emilio was so nice and an absolute pro. He taught us so much about how to make the dishes and also great history of each of the ingredients we were cooking with. We made tamales, tacos, and mole verde and everything was super delicious. Would totally do again!

An amazing experience, unquestionably the highlight of our trip to Mexico City. From the market tour to the class, we learned so much about Mexican food culture and cooking techniques. Chef Emilio possessed a wealth of skill and knowledge, provided excellent instruction, and made the class loads of fun. We enjoyed meeting and sharing the beautiful kitchen with everyone in our small group which was perfectly sized so that everyone could participate in the preparation of our incredibly delicious feast. A special shout-out to Charlie and the rest of the staff who did such a seamless job organizing and tending to everything, all we had to do was focus on the cooking, conversation, food, and fun. Thank you Casa Jacaranda - can't wait to make the recipes we learned at home!
