Casa Jacinta Guest House

"How did it strike you on arrival? This guest house feels very traditionally Mexican—as does the location, in the heart of Del Carmen, the neighborhood in which Frida Kahlo once lived (her former house, now the Frida Kahlo Museum is just around the corner). Nice. What’s the crowd like?A mix of young and old from all over the world. The good stuff: Tell us about your room. The seven rooms all have a slightly different designs but many have doors to a private/shared terrace or windows that open onto an interior patio. How about the little things, like mini bar, or shower goodies. Any of that find its way into your suitcase?Where can I buy those printed fabric pillows? Please tell us the bathroom won’t let us down. You're 100 percent Instagramming that Mexican-tile sink. Maybe the most important topic of all: Wi-Fi. What’s the word?Wi-Fi is free and available in every room. Room service: Worth it?There's no room service, but breakfast is included in most reservations and there are plenty of restaurants nearby for lunch and dinner. What was most memorable—or heartbreaking—about your stay?Casa Jacinta already stands out in that there are few hotels in Del Carmen, but the traditional Mexican design and tranquil terraces make it even more of a gem." - Susannah Rigg

We had a fantastic stay at Casa Jacinta. It's an extremely charming, relaxing, and beautiful boutique hotel with friendly staff. I booked room 5 for the beautiful green tile bathroom, and it did not disappoint! I wasn't 100% sure based on the online photos whether the attached balcony in this room was private---it is! The king bed was comfortable. Guilty pleasure: I like watching TV at bedtime, so it was nice to have that, including a few HBO channels. Everything was perfect for our entire stay. The hotel is on a quiet street, not far from the main square. We loved staying in Coyoacan, for a bustling but more relaxed, historic neighborhood, and we based our trip around spending a lot of time exploring Coyoacan on foot. We visited several museums, markets, and churches, and did lots of "slice of life" stuff like visiting coffee shops, parks, even the Cineteca Nacional (movie theater). For the days we ventured out beyond Coyoacan, it took about 45 minutes to an hour to reach Centro and Chapultepec by car during peak traffic.

I can't say enough about my stay at Casa Jacinta. The host and hostess were beyond hospitable. Homemade breakfast each morning with fresh fruit at your service. Place was clean and amazingly beautiful. Location was perfect for food, shopping near parks and Frida Khalo museum. All in walking distance. I would most definitely stay here 100%. I felt like family and safe. Thank you.

Our first trip to CDMX. This review is mainly directed to the owners as the Staff here is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! But the Casa jacinta guest house needs to shift focus to updating things that guests would truly value . The shower was awful , the shower head was so old you were fighting to rinse your body it would trickle. The bed is hard as a rock it was so uncomfortable we cut our trip short by 2 days . We were in so much pain and that is such an easy fix a nice topper would make all the difference. Last a sign is needed to remind guests this is a home and to be mindful of the other guests when you come in late or leave early . Sleep is important especially when traveling . The location is perfect and again the staff is just wonderful but updates are definitely needed .

Loved the room. Spacious, walls covered with great art, and nice furniture. The room was climate controlled too and filled with natural light. And the staff are so friendly. Learned of a couple restaurant recommendations upon my departure. Thank you for hosting us.

My sister and I recently visited CDMX for just 48 hours to see Lady Gaga. We stayed at Casa Jacinta and could not have had a better experience. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful, including helping us hire a taxi driver to take us to and from the concert. Miguel managed to get us in and out of the MASSIVE (65,000 people) concert crowds in record time. What could have taken hours only took minutes. ||The location of Casa Jacinta is perfect. The streets are lovely and quiet, but you’re a quick walk from the center of Coyoacan where you can find lots of incredible food and street vendors. It’s very walkable, including the Frida Kahlo musuem.||The room was comfortable and beautiful, from the amazing art on the walls to the tile work in the bathroom. Plenty of water was provided daily and the breakfast each morning was delicious. ||I would happily stay here again. With only a handful of guest rooms, you truly feel like a guest in a BnB and not a dollar sign at a hotel. Thank you to the staff for taking such amazing care of us!

Very comfortable, lovely house in a quiet area but walking distance to lots of coffee shops and Frieda Kahlo house and also Leon Trotsky home. Stayed over a week here Sara Emilliano were very helpful and friendly. Bottles of water were replenished daily and laundry was arranged for us too.

Coyoacan is a jewel of a neighbourhood just outside Mexico City. This location is close to the Frida Kahlo Museum and the Coyoacan Centre. || One of the local drivers told me this was the beloved of Mexico. Yes. |Would I have preferred the centre of CDMX? No. ||PS If hiring a driver make sure it’s someone Gringa appropriate. A promise of: No tailgating. No cellphone while driving.
