We had an amazing dinner here. The steak was incredibly well made. Fish dishes were fresh and great also. Angel was our guy 🙌 really friendly and helpful for the whole night Definitely would come back!

Fantastic place, with a great atmosphere. Our waiter Matteo was super friendly and very pleasant. Decent prices with really high quality food. We were there on a saturday evening, and they had brought in a DJ and played some good music as well. A must visit when in Tulum. 5+ for the housecat as well, very well behaved and made an othervise "normal" restaurant visit someting extra 😊

We arrived at Casa Jaguar for our reservation and were promptly seated, which was appreciated. Unfortunately, the seating itself set a poor tone for the evening. The solid wood table and chairs were extremely uncomfortable—far less comfortable than what you’d find at an average burger joint. Our waitress, however, was a highlight of the experience: friendly, pleasant, and attentive throughout the meal. The menu is quite small, with limited choices, and they were already out of the fish of the day. The cocktails were good, though priced more like Miami than Mexico. We started with the octopus and shrimp, both of which were well prepared and enjoyable. For main courses, we ordered the ribeye, sea bass, and pork ribs. The sea bass was fresh and nicely cooked. The ribs were ordinary—fine, but nothing memorable—and the portions were on the small side. The ribeye was the biggest disappointment. The meat was clearly low quality: not very tender, with a gamey and rather unpleasant taste that made it hard to enjoy. For dessert, we tried the lava cake, which was very average and similar to what you’d find at many chain restaurants. The total bill came to $400. For that price, the overall experience was definitely not worth it. While this level of pricing seems to be the norm in Tulum, it’s still hard to justify. We’ve had better meals—and better overall experiences—at local taco shops for a fraction of the price.

We called here for drinks, drawn in by the look of the place and the music playing as we walked by. Absolutely stunning venue and amazing cocktails. The bar tender, Ivan, was very knowledgeable about the ingredients used in the tailor made drinks we had, really lovely guy. A most enjoyable visit. Shame we’d already eaten as the food looked fab too.

Angle is truly the best. From start to finish, the service was exceptional and exceeded all expectations. They were professional, attentive, and genuinely cared about delivering a great experience. Every detail was handled with care, communication was smooth, and the overall process felt effortless. You can really tell they take pride in what they do. Highly recommend to anyone looking for top tier service. A solid 10 out of 10.

The food was absolutely incredible. Flavours so unique and balanced. We had a crudo with fresh green flavours and a piece of amazing sea bass dish of the day, plus the famous octopus. Our waiter Alvin recommended cocktails and wine that went perfectly with the food and the vibe and music was so fun.

The food was okayish at best. We tried the octopus that was too stiff and the red snapper, that was ok at best. The price is too high for the food they deliver. The Tosta de Atun was great tho.

My girlfriend and I are big foodies and we were skeptical to try many of the restaurants near the busy hotel zone but Casa Jaguar completely surpassed our expectations! The vibe was chill and moody. The food was phenomenal, and the drinks hit the spot! Ivan was our server and he was super attentive and gave many suggestions and parring ideas. We had the aguachile to start which has a little kick and super flavorful, as well as the octopus. YOU MUST GET THE OCTOPUS! For our main we had the catch of the day which was also phenomenal and full of flavor. We love spicy and asked for salsa and were given an amazing habanero salsa. If you love flavor and good food + vibes you must stop at Casa Jaguar

We went here for dinner on our first night in Tulum. I give 4 stars for ambiance, as it feels like you're eating dinner in the jungle, but I didn't love the menu. However, the dish I did settle on I enjoyed (it was a shrimp starter but I don't remember the name) . My friend had the ribeye, and I wasn't really a fan. The servers were friendly, but seemed they were being stretched thin and stressed out, so they never checked on us. Instead, we always had to wave a hand to get their attention for anything we needed.

Cute atmosphere but didnt love love the menu. Ordered the sea bass as my entree and the ceviche for an app. My friend ordered the rib eye and it was raw. Super chill vibe.

The food was great. The home and open courtyard vibe and decor are on point. But the service is downright rude. And the place is a cartel run cesspool of illicit activities and substances. I didn't feel comfortable. Then there is Reddit article that references cartel related shooting. I'm not going back there and wouldn't recommend it until all of Tulum is under the governments control.

Dreamy jungle dining and house music djs transporting you to Burning Man. House-heads and dancers, on Thursday's, this is the place. I am surprised to see such low reviews here because I really enjoyed my time and have had several friends on different occasions love this spot too! The vibe is unmatched. The grilled seafood was delicious. Great sauces to pair! One complaint: getting a bottle of the same wine served by the glass was more expensive, so we opted for by-the-glass. Never have I seen this before.

Wow! Great experience with Ilias, the bartender! He made three different cocktails and each of them were the best I have had in Tulum. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AND ILIAS!!!

Drinks are amazing!! So unique and the presentation is stellar. The server was very knowledgeable and really knew his cocktails! Ordered the Toloache - the beet and ginger tasted so healthy with the perfect amount of sweetness and hint of ancho Chile around the rim. I've never tried pox liquor until this drink and glad that was a viable option. However, also ordered the panucho de mar, the octopus didn't have much flavor and a little overcooked. This place is beautiful and the vibes are great! Main recommend for drinks!

- The grilled octopus: crispy ends without overlooking the meat. Brilliant combination of flavors with adding the orange- try it. - Ceviche: This was a deconstructed version of ceviche which was artistic, but still very traditional to it's origins. - The drink was evenly poured with a nice spicy rim. (Travelers tip: this location is outdoors and prone to mosquitoes during the evening. Prepare accordingly: I couldn't focus on my dessert because by the time I got to my churros, I had 11 bites. My fault) the mosquitoes made it hard to focus on my food. To combat, the restaurant has a ton of those smoke incense which could be a lot for some. It's just the location of the restaurant.

The food and drinks here were amazing. Some of the best food we had on our Tulum trip. The restaurant was a bit empty tho, which was unexpected for a Saturday night. Service was very good

We heard great things about Casa Jaguar so we decided to come here on a weeknight. Let me start by saying the ambiance was very intimate and "sexy" here (besides your occasional crab walking by lol). We came during the low season (Sept) so the service was super quick. For drinks, we ordered the Crisanto and their specialty cocktail of the night. Both equally yummy. We ordered the pork belly to start and the fresh catch of the day (grouper) as the main course. Both dishes were great! The pork belly comes in a bowl with onions, fresh herbs and some kind vinaigrette. The flavors together were amazing! The fish is grilled in their wood fire brick oven in a butter sauce which made it so tender and juicy! I mean we left nothing on the plate. The fish also comes with grilled onions and peppers, two or three sauces and pickled onions. The pesto sauce...SO GOOD! It's more on the pricier side for Tulum but so are most of the restaurants in the beach area. For what we got, I was pleased with the prices.

Avoid this - it's a tourist trap and got us sick Food: shrimp were tough and over cooked. The octopus was good, but after having the best octopus in the world at Hartwood down the street the day before, I was underwhelmed. **Worth noting: ~6 hours later, my husband was down and out with a stomach infection that this is the only thing we consumed that didn't come out of a bottle....** Service: we wanted to get a bottle of Mexican wine. We asked to taste it and it wasn't the best, but it was local so we ordered it. When he came, he hid the label, but was struggling to open the bottle so eventually I saw the label: Banshee from CA. $12 grocery store wine from California. When I asked, he said they had run out of the Californian one, so this is what they're serving in its place. Why didn't they mention that when they gave us a taste telling us it's Mexican? They almost duped us into pay $60 USD for cheap Californian wine. Ambience: pretty, but not worth the bad food and worse service.

This is the place to check out if you're ever in Tulum!! Amazing food and really cool atmosphere once the sun goes down. Bumping music and good vibes. Can't beat that!

One of my favorite meals in Tulum. Almost everything was on point here--from the aesthetic to the cocktails to the food, the whole thing was pretty swoon-worthy. Casa Jaguar is on the playa side across the street from the beach. It's definitely trendy, but bit less popular than Hartwood (which seems to always have a wait). Definitely take some time to walk around and explore the space--the attached bar, Todos Santos, is beautiful as well. We showed up on a drizzly evening which definitely limits the seating situation (as a lot of the seating it open air). We had about a ten minute wait but were able to snag a couple seats at the bar and order some mezcal drinks. Really enjoyed the Copal cocktail--they've got some crazy cocktail accoutrements (we're talking crickets, worm salt, habaneros, and avocados) if you're feeling adventurous. For my meal I tried the pulpo en salsa macha per our server's suggestion and absolutely loved it. I love seafood, especially while traveling anywhere oceanside, and this octopus was fantastic. The potatoes alongside were so filling I couldn't finish all of them, but I definitely appreciated the greens. A table nearby ordered some churros that were all sorts of tempting, but we opted to move on for a night cap elsewhere and forego the sweet treat. Prices here are a little higher than some of the other beachside restaurants, but definitely not bad and worth it for a special night out. Make sure to note that your gratuity will be included on your bill so you don't tip twice. The only area for opportunity that I could see here was for the staff to maybe wear some sort of matching apron or uniform. They were all in street clothes and it was a little hard to discern who actually worked there and who was just hanging out (although I can appreciate the laid back vibes). Loved the jungle vibes here!

They give you a two hour limit on your table but the entrees take two hours to get to your table. Be prepared for a long dinning experience. Drinks are amazing. Highly suggest one of their specialty cocktails. Braised pork shoulder was much sweeter than I anticipated. Reminded me of a sweet orange chicken sauce. Octopus was huge and very good. The crusted outside is something I haven't seen before. The table enjoyed it. Lamb was very good, fell right of the bone. Sol didn't have much flavor. Each dish was huge we thought 4 and desert would be plenty for 5 people and we left hungry.

Waited an hour for drinks. Many people in our group got completely wrong entrees or never recieved their meals at all. One girl in our group ordered the ribs and they kept bringing her a ribeye--like three different times. Bill came and was all completely wrong but we had no idea how to even address with them because not only were a ton of items we didn't order on bill, many items we did order weren't on the menu. Food wasn't that good overall and I'd definitely skip this place.

The steak was really flavorful and good. The waiters and staff are all extremely friendly and welcoming. The octopus entree was just okay. The portion for the octopus was kinda small in my opinion. The churros were also very good.

The vibe of this place is classic Tulum, very jungly and full of festive guests, including bachelorette parties and romantic couples. We did not stay on this hotel strip of Tulum but Casa Jaguar gives a great taste of the area without being too wild. The atmosphere is the greatest attraction, followed by the tasty cocktails, and last was the underwhelming food. The octopus was well cooked and tasty, but not extraordinary. The shrimp lacked flavor. Waiters come around frequently with natural citronella smoke but we still got eaten by mosquitos, as can be expected in a jungle. Probably requires a reservation as it filled up on a Friday night, but it's worth a stop just to enjoy the atmosphere.

This place was a bit of a letdown. It was recommended to us by friends in the states, and compared to the other restaurants in the hotel district, the food was inferior. The service was also very poor, unfortunately, as we had 3 waiters attend to us, none of whom were attentive. The drinks were a very bright spot, as the cocktails were excellent. The food was very overpriced as well. It could have been an off-season experience, but we would not come back here.

This restaurant was right in the jungle, I loved the atmosphere! The tostadas de atún were amazing - some of the best I've ever had. The ceviche Coronado was also very good and came out on a plate that probably wasn't the best for this dish. It tasted good though. The pulpo en salsa macha was also very good but the side of veggies was a bit random. We didn't know if we were supposed to eat it or what. The cocktails were very good too.

My first meal but seriously the best! The shrimp and the ribs were amazing. We went on a Thursday and the place was packed luckily We had a reservation. I can't wait to return

Ana was very rude when my husband went to ask for a table . Rolled her eyes and said a rude comment in spanish like if i didn't understand. Very bad for business. I spend money . And they missed out . Drinks were awesome though.

10 minutes ago Horrible service. Rude staff: Food never arrived. Called us "you people". NEVER AGAIN

Ok this spot was supreme. Instead of what you would expect to receive when you are seated (bread & butter // chips & salsa) we received Crickets & Worms. I've never had these before but had a hard time not finishing them myself... next, the sautéed octopus. Wow. Just wow. So. Damn. Tasty. When I've had something like this in the past, the octopus has been kind of chewy or tough but this tasted like perfectly buttered chanterelle mushrooms or something. I can't explain it. But if I was on death row, I'd choose this sautéed octopus plate as my last meal. The prime rib was also just so epic. Cut like butter. I even ate the fat. Couldn't help myself. Just too good for words. ALSO, our server, Augustine. He was stellar and helped us pick out our options once we narrowed them down. He helped make the entire ambiance what it was - spectacular.

Food was delicious. Since it is right in the middle of the hotel strip is was busy, but the 40 minute wait was worth it BUT it felt overly crowded and due to the pandemic, couldn't enjoy it as much as I think I would have. But worth checking them out. Their drink are delicious and refreshing.

Definitely one of my all-time favourite culinary experiences. Food was excellent. The Beef, Fish and Octopus were fresh and cooked to perfection. The quality and flavour of every single thing on the plate was top notch. Every thing complemented each other perfectly! The aura and vibe of the place made the experience so much more special. The spot is romantic and very beautiful for a night out. Service is friendly and our server told us about all the local parties and hidden spots to visit in Tulum! Would highly recommend this spot!

Beautiful meal at Casa Jaguar - very strong cocktail game and wonderful cooking heroing ingredients and mastery of spices and the grill. Tiradito was a highlight as well as catch of the day. Great service. Moderately pricey but worth it. Reckon better later on when busier with more ambience.

I've been to Casa Jaguar twice on my trips to Tulum and am shocked to see that it has only 3 stars. The most recent time we went, we ordered the tuna tostadas (our favorite dish of the night), the slow cooked pork belly (which came with tortillas to make a taco) and the prawns. All were great. We ended the night with churros which were delicious, however I wish it came with better dipping sauces. They also have a great, diverse cocktail list. The ambience is very cool as well, you feel like you're sitting in the middle of the jungle. Always a favorite to visit when we go to Tulum.

Nice ambience in this restaurant and get stuff. Unfortunately the mosquitoes ruin the experience

I'm giving this a two because Pali was a great bartender but probably give this spot a pass if you're black. They will totally treat you like you're not a person on the way in. But once you're in the bartenders were good but the door guy's racists

This place has amazing music and the people are great. We just came for drinks but stayed for the fun and music. I love the low lights and romantic feeling. It was definitely an intimate place and hope to come back and actually eat here.

I really don't understand some of the bad reviews. Food was amazing, and the service was extraordinary! Alex, the manager, made us feel so welcomed. He went above and beyond what a typical manager usually does. He really spent time with us explaining the menu, the culture of the area, and his true feelings on food and drink. Yeah, your going spend some time waiting for the bill. Who cares... your in Tulum, it is common everywhere here. Your surrounded by natural beauty. Take it in, have another drink, and maybe get off your phone and talk to the person/people your with! Mosquitos, ha!!! They are everywhere in Tulum. Put some spray on and suck it up!! My wife and I love this place!

Came here with a large group celebrating a birthday, so we weren't expecting the best service. However, it was particularly poor compared to other places we went on this trip. We had two courses of food before receiving our drinks. That being said, the drinks themselves were delicious. I tried the Akil and Ceiba. The food was so-so. The tuna tostada and fish were nice, but the steak was disappointing (and arguably overcooked). Also, we were specifically told we could stay for the DJ set after dinner but did not receive wristbands, so members of the group were not let back into the area when they went to use the restroom and tried to return.

PARTY/DRINKING SPOT, NOT DINNER! Late night dinner started with a security pat-down with super overpriced (5 weak opinions) of small plate meals that are served by terrible staff on a table that had ants all over. MUSIC POUNDING, incense and smoking were so obnoxious that a fun night was a huge miss. The shot glass sized over-priced margarita was very tasty. Never again.

So we just had dinner here and it wasn't great. First the food: appetizers were good (one great the other one was just ok) I specified I'd like them spaced out but they came together. We're not slow eaters but before finishing the first app the mains came. So now we have a table full of food and half getting cold. The mains were decent but needed better seasoning. Dessert was OK at best, I've had better at a diner. The drinks were watered down and for the price I expect better. Worst was when it came time to pay, server charged my card (while distracting with some local tips) and added 18% without asking if it's OK. When I talked to the manager she said he should have asked (the bill said "recommended tip" not gratuity and I know the difference). I work in the restaurant industry and this is not ok. The ambiance is the best thing about the place, I can't recommend it.

The food and service was amazing! The drinks were delicious as well. We came as a large group of 13 and the food was fast and efficient. The food was very fresh and the staff was incredibly friendly. The prawns are so good and insanely massive. I highly recommend!!

we came just for drinks on a friday night and had a great time! our mojitos were delicious and i love the bar atmosphere. there's little boutiques surrounding the sitting area and there were some cute kitties to pet.

Spot was decent, nice lil vibe. Went for a birthday dinner. Lots of sea food on menu; I'm allergic, but it looked like it was done well lol. I ordered the steak (only thing I could eat), the Yuka puree and lil side of gravy was bomb.com. Personally, wouldn't frequent, (just because of the limited non-seafood options) but I would revisit for another special occasion if presented.

Got HORRIBLE food poisoning from the shrimp. Service was practically non-existent. Do not recommend.

I think this might be the sexiest restaurant I have ever seen. Dark and beautifully-designed. So so hot. After 2 drinks and 2 entrees, it ended up being $100 USD. This place is good, but that is a bit much...especially for mediocre service and a pretty long wait for the food (even though the place was dead).

Beautiful location. Good party Thursday night I will recommend going. They only take two credit cards per table so come prepare if you come with a large group because they will not inform before hand The food unfortunately was not very good, we got: - tuna tostadas were ok I had better - the romero fish was very plain to my taste maybe was that day that wasn't very good - the ribeye was actually good - the octopus was overcooked The service was as not very good our server was actually kinda rude :(

Worst service ever! A party of 10 ordered food. 3 of us got our food. The rest of us got nothing but unapologetic excuses. We spent 3 hours waiting for food that never came. And then they sent 2 shots of tequila (yes two! For 10 people)! And finally when the bill came, we didn't agree with paying for things that never came. The waiter started getting offensive and the hostess pretending to be the manager started yelling at us. Telling us they never had customers like us! What???? I am shocked by this service! Please beware!

Listen DO NOT DINE HERE. Seriously the worst service ever. Most entrees never came, after 2 1/2 hours of ordering. I'm literally at a loss of words and don't have the energy to really explain the whole situation. I can't stress this enough just take my advice and avoid this place, don't believe any hype about it just goto any one of the other amazing restaurants with great service like Ahau, and La Malinché.

Omg this place was amazing.. we ve got some pretty good food here .. pork belly as a starter and some fish tacos very yummy .. I ve got the grilled octopus and it was delicious.. my friends got the pork ribs with mashed yums and other one tiger prawns and it was also very good .. servers not very informative but the food was amazing it wa s worTh the money gracias

LOVE this place. The outdoor seating gave this restaurant a great/romantic vibe. The food was great. The every salad we had (with local greens) was amazing. Had to order seconds. Service was great. Our waiter was very patient was great in helping us navigate through their menu. Highly recommend anyone who is Tulum to visit this place.

Came for after-dinner drinks, we weren't disappointed. Bar was secluded and bartender was very knowledgable, made some of the best cocktails I've ever had. Would definitely go back.

Not sure where to start with the food and drinks here. My friend and I went here for dinner a few days ago and enjoyed it so much. The pork belly was amazing, as the octopus. Our entree and drinks had so much good flavor. Check it out when in Tulum.

Casa Jaguar was one of my Go-To spots before coming to Tulum and it did not disappoint! The space is beautifully appointed, service was on point and drinks and food were delicious. We ordered Tuna Tostadas to start and were each going to have the pork chop for entrees but the server was kind enough to tell us that was too much food so we shared the one pork chop and got a salad as well instead. The only thing is that the "pork chop" was actually pork ribs but they were huge and the most tender ones I've ever eaten. Can't wait to return to Casa Jaguar!

Our friends highly recommended this place so despite the yelp reviews, we decided to give it a shot as a family with a 1-year old baby. So disappointed! -no high chair -mosquitoes are everywhere in Tulum but in this place there are too many of them attacking you! -food was not good at all! -service was too slow (we spent 2 hours in this place when there was no other guests) -more expensive than we expected since we were comparing casa jaguar to Hartwood and prices are similar -we were out of pesos and asked them if we can pay in USD, so their fx rate is 16, while the market fx rate is 19!

Terrible service & overpriced. Paid the required $100 USD deposit for a group reservation expecting a nice evening with drinks however that was not the case. This place is a nightmare. Never received our drink order after waiting for 45 minutes, said they would refund the deposit and then they tried to charge us $50 worth of bottled water when nobody ordered any waters. Avoid!

If I could give you negative stars, I would! You're food was awful, service just ok and drinks equally mediocre. Here's a pic of my whole fish...7 whole fishes out our 10 person table looked equally as shitty. The other is a different fish dish but just as burnt. Your chef and everyone else in the kitchen should be ashamed to serve this dish to any table. The fact your severs brought this over shows the lack of care in what you serve. We booked our reservation over 1.5 months in advance. And for this? This restaurant isn't even worth the stars it has. With so many other places to eat in Tulum with 4+ star reviews. Go there!! Go anywhere else but here.
