Casa Kraken Hostel

This Hostel hits all the marks, stellar location 1-2 blocks from the beach boardwalk and best part of town to be based out of, super clean, secure, friendly staff, great breakfast included. The aesthetic is cool and the whole building has an interesting layout, lots of stairs, common areas, balconies and sweet view of the church and mountains behind and the ocean in front from the top floor. Bus stop right outside. I would absolutely go back!

A beautiful hostel run by great people. Super friendly and social atmosphere, and the staff organize days trips to beaches and waterfalls nearby and going out to some of the bars and clubs. Location is perfect, so much to do within walking distance. I made a lot of good friends here and would love to come back. Would highly recommend to any solo traveler who wants to meet people and explore what Puerto Vallarta has to offer.

First experience at a hostel and enjoyed it very much. Staff was friendly and helpful. A/C in dorms from 10pm - 8am only, so probably not for you if you enjoy mid-day naps but otherwise I highly recommend Casa Kraken Hostel.

Great location. Simple but well maintained and beautiful. Staff are friendly and helpful. It's in a busy street so if you're a light sleeper, bring earplugs.

This hostel was amazing. The staff is super friendly and welcoming, they organize activities everyday. Perfect hostel to meet people and socialize. The hostel is cleaned everyday and the breakfast is good. The bar at the rooftop is the perfect place to drink and watch the fireworks (which you can watch on a daily basis). Thanks again! :)

The hostel was absolutely amazing and the volunteers are great. The location is fantastic with everything really close by. Everyone at the hostel is so nice and you’ll meet the most genuine people here. Dave the manager really made my trip and is a great resource for any recommendations you need. He loves what he does and it shows in the care he shows for his volunteers and the guests. They were very accommodating to any request I had. Their daily activities are so much fun and creates a sense of community. The rooftop bar and common areas were very impressive and contributed to the overall great aesthetic of the place. I would go back in a heartbeat just for the hostel itself. I went for a short trip but wish I could have stayed much longer. I truly hope every hostel goer gets to be so lucky and experience this place and appreciate the people that work so hard to make Casa Kraken exist. I have been to a lot of hostels and this has quickly become one of my favorites and I can’t wait to go back.

Casa Kraken felt like home the second I walked in. The staff was amazing, we became fast friends and the current manager from Canada is one of the most lovely people I have met. The volunteers were exceptional. The location could not be more perfect and their daily activities are certainly something to attend. The area is incredibly safe. I will 100% be going back which is something I can’t say about any of the other hostels I’ve stayed as a solo female traveler. Can not rate high enough! All of the negative reviews were made by friends of a disgruntled volunteer that was let go, for good reason. I had the pleasure (not at all a pleasure) of meeting the fired volunteer and had he been still at Casa kraken I would’ve found new accommodations. The manager is one of the most down to earth caring people! You can tell he loves what he does. He has a great relationship with the volunteers and the guests. If you go to Casa Kraken you will not regret it!

The best hostel ive ever stayed. The location is the BEST. There are activities everyday and the rooms are cleaned with AC. People are amazing. The breakfast is great. Super valuable for the price. If Kraken was a chain hostel i would go to all of their branches for sure! Thank you so much Kraken you have made my trip more amazing than i could imagine!
