Perfect location right on the water. The nicest hosts- they have so many great amenities you’ll want for going to the beach like little coolers, chairs, umbrellas, even a little library of books! Each unit has a kitchen and balcony. The sound of the ocean was so pleasant at night to fall asleep to! Pool looks out over the ocean and was the perfect sun warmed temp! This was our first time staying g here and we’ll never stay anywhere else again when we are on Vieques.

Our trip to Casa La Lanchita was an absolute DREAM, especially with my 15-year-old daughter by my side. It was our first time staying there, and coming back to the freezing cold of Minnesota a few days made us long for the breathtaking views and the soothing sounds of the ocean.||From the moment we arrived, Lucy, who effortlessly manages CLL, welcomed us at the Ferry. And stepping into the Casa, we were embraced by Doug and MariKay, along with their furry kids. Their warm reception, complete with hugs, Punch Rum, and cold sodas, instantly won us over—we couldn't help but fall in love with the hosts and the Casa.||Everything we needed for our three-night stay was right there at CLL. The views were beyond amazing, and the pools were just the right size to cool off. It was wonderfully peaceful and cozy. Every morning, we woke up eager to soak in the surroundings and embark, on foot, to our daily adventures. And every night, we drifted off to sleep with content smiles, utterly relaxed. Our room was spacious and inviting, but the views... Absolutely STUNNING! ||Staying at CLL felt like visiting our favorite aunt and uncle. Doug, MariKay, and Lucy made us feel completely at home. They added to the laid-back charm of Vieques—no fuss, no frills, just genuine smiles and simplicity. THANK YOU for providing a space where we could create beautiful memories. We're already looking forward to our next mother-daughter trip back there.||Helpful Tips:|-If you are carrying a light backpack, it’s an easy walk from the Ferry to CLL (less than 10 minutes). We had suitcases so the ride from Lucy was so nice!|-You can easily walk into town to get groceries or go to restaurants.|-You will want a car or golf cart to drive to the south part of the Island where you can discover more of the beautiful beaches and more restaurants.|-CLL is not a place for “loud party goers”. All the guests that were there the same time as us were respectful and quiet. |

Fabulous spot with view and sounds of the ocean waves. The room had its own little balcony and kitchenette so we picnicked outside overlooking the ocean. Doggie, Marikay and Marianne were super hosts! Highly recommend.

We've vacationed in the Caribbean for over 40 years, from the Virgin Islands to Barbados. |April 2024 was our first vacation in Vieques, Puerto Rico at the wonderful Casa La Lanchita guest house.|Hosted by Doug and Marikate Houle for over 30 years, you feel almost like family members. |Every suite faces the incoming waves of the ocean, a rare find.|CLL is about a mile from the main town Isabella Segunda. We rented a CLL car, and enjoyed Vieques' great beaches on the southern coast, |Drives to the beaches take 15 to 20 minutes. Roads are now in great condition.|We had such a great ten days at Casa La Lanchita, we understand people come back year after year.

La Lanchita possibly has the best location a hotel has ever had. You are literally sleeping on top of the ocean. If you look over the balcony, the waves are crashing right underneath the hotel! It is the most amazing feeling to fall asleep and wake up to the sound of these waves right underneath your room! ||Another huge value to this place are Mary Kay and Doug, the owners, and their little menagerie of dogs, cats, and street horses. They are very cool. I stayed there twice and each time I feel right at home, as if I'm visiting my grandparents who have the best oceanfront property! ||The look of the hotel and the interior of the rooms are outdated, that's for sure, but not dirty. They can definitely use some updating, but that would also definitely bring the price of the stay up, so I think this is a fair trade, to have an oceanfront room with infinity pool for less than a 150 dollars a night! I will take that trade off.||All rooms face the ocean. One can watch the sunset from the infinity pool. ||I love this little old hotel and its owners.

We cane on the Island with no reservations for a room and were blessed to find this jewel of a place. Elizabeth and her husband were amazing! The hotel was clean and quiet and we loved the pool. They went out of their way to make sure our stay was phenomenal. Thank you so much !!

We have enjoyed visiting Vieques for over 10 years!! It’s a beautiful place on the Atlantic Ocean. The ocean noise and breeze is amazing. We like the spacious rooms with kitchens to fix breakfast and lunch ( for the beach) It’s perfect for a base to explore the amazing beaches

Yelp
We had such a relaxing time at La Lanchita. Doug and his wife make you feel at home as soon as you arrive. The location is very quaint. Every room has an amazing view over looking the ocean. Make sure you rental a car from location it's much cheaper than the local car rental places. It's an older place, but once you settle in it feels like home.

Yelp
I really needed some downtime and Vieques seemed like a good place to just relax. Some friends had gone to Vieques for a day trip and I asked one of them if she had any contacts who could recommend a hotel that was open after Irma/Maria. My friend came back with a recommendation for Casa La Lanchita. Good call. La Lanchita was perfect for my needs. My suite was spacious, comfortable, and had a full kitchen (okay, my only cooking was heating up leftovers, but it was great to have a fridge that was large enough to accommodate those leftovers). It also looked out over the beach and the pool. The combination of the ocean breezes and the ceiling fans meant I never felt the need to turn on the A/C, but it's there if you need it. I didn't drive much while I was there (if you like to walk, the town is an easy, if a little hilly, walk from the hotel), but I did rent an SUV from the hotel for a few days to get out around the island. (you'll definitely want an SUV even if you think you won't be going off-road; the pot-holes are epic). I travel for work, so I spend a lot of time in hotels, many of which have been great and I have very much enjoyed. Casa La Lanchita was more like being at home. If home were right on the beach with a pool and a staff. Okay, so not exactly like home, it was way better.

Yelp
We got lucky with a reservation for the Casa La Lanchita- one of the holders of the week we went unexpectedly couldn't make it and we snatched up the reservation right away. The guest house is located high on top of a hill above Isabel Segunda. Our room overlooked the pool area (it's a pseudo infinity pool) and the beach of the north shore of the island. Its right on the beach, the high tide comes all the way up to the retaining wall. Our room consisted of a living area and dining area, as well as a semi separate sleeping area and a huge bathroom. We also had a kitchen which was very nice because we could stock up at the little grocer and bring our own lunch and snacks to the beach. Doug, the owner, is very very nice (he's originally from Boston!) and he provides coolers, beach chairs, towels, snorkel gear (which we didn't use because we have our own), as well as beach toys and tons of books. Anything and everything you could want for a day at the beach! He was also very very helpful when we were planning our visits and told us what beaches to go to and what time of day. (To avoid sand fleas and things like that) We were able to rent a Jeep directly from Doug which made everything so much easier.

Yelp
Our stay at Casa La Lanchita was fabulous!! The suite was amazing--a spacious living room/dining room/kitchen was cozy and well equipped. The bedroom was comfortable and there were two separate AC units. With the window slats open, we could hear the ocean waves gently breaking all night. The pool was beautiful and very well-maintained. Doug, the owner/manager/host could not have been more helpful or accommodating--he gave us great advice about local tours, how to get around town, and even treated us to a delicious rum punch!! We could not have been happier with our excellent accommodations here!! We look forward to returning to Vieques and we will definitely stay at Casa La Lanchita again!!

Yelp
I really enjoyed my stay in "Casa La Lanchita." The hotel is located on top of a hill overlooking the ocean and it's a short walk from the ferry. The owner, Doug, is really friendly. He provides you with a map of the island and recommends restaurants and beaches to visit. He has jeeps available for guests to rent which is very convenient. The best part of this hotel is the close proximity to the ocean. At night, you feel the ocean breeze come in and you can hear the waves crashing on the beach-- HEAVEN! The cleanness of the bathroom was a little questionable; however, I would still highly recommend this hotel.

Yelp
We've been staying at Casa La Lanchita for years. We were worried about hurricane damage but it was just the same cozy, comfortable, place and the views are truly amazing - every room has an ocean view. We had breakfast every morning sitting on our balcony watching the ferry come and go in the port. Rooms and pool area all clean and well maintained. Lovely fresh linens. Doug and Marikay have everything you need: coolers, beach towels, beach chairs, snorkel gear, and jeep rentals just to name a few things. They are amazing hosts who know the island and all the best spots - you feel like family staying with a beloved uncle and aunt.
