We were really disappointed with our stay. Paying 5 star prices for a hotel with zero staff present for over 50% of the day we found to be absolutely bizzare.||||We arrived at around 2pm, which is for some reason outside the hours of a human being being present at the hotel desk. So we were left a keycard on the checkin desk with our name on it, which meant we got no information about the hotel from staff, how things worked, cost of breakfast etc on our arrival. We were simply left to figure things out for ourselves. || ||We were disappointed from the get go, no staffed bar and an “honesty” bar system where you can make your own drinks in a mini bar with not even any ice cubes. Not 5 star standard whatsoever. You would expect from a 5 star hotel to be offered a drink sitting on the patio. ||||Breakfast is around 15 euro each per night with no options other than eggs and toast with a few toppings and a couple of uncovered pastries left out with flies flying around the breakfast area. On top of this, we were also not made aware of the cost of this as we had no staff tell us any details about the breakfast situation in the hotel, so we were very surprised about this on checkout. On day one, we were summoned into the breakfast area and not made aware of if this was included or not in our stay. Everything about this very misleading and unfair. ||||Our room was the only redeeming quality of the hotel but we had air conditioning issues where the only setting was ice cold and we found it hard to sleep with it being too hot with it off, too cold with it on.||||Unlike the many reviews we read, we found the staff to be quite dismissive and standoffish towards us.||||The cherry on top of the cake for us was the fire alarm going off at 2am, and every single guest standing in the street for 30 minutes while the police were called. Not a single member of staff is in the premises outside the few hours in the morning and 4 hours in the evening, so no one was on site to deal with this. Not a single apology from the staff on checkout for this inconvenience and the last night of our stay being ruined for us. ||||Overall, with breakfast included we paid close to 800 euro in the off season for 3 nights accommodation in Mahón, with subpar service. This hotel felt more like a nicely decorated 3 star. The pool is tiny which is fine for a boutique hotel, but also looked like it needed a very good clean with debris and bandaids floating along the bottom of it.||||Avoid, plenty of other nice hotels in the area for half the price this time of year.
