How to Celebrate the Holidays at US Wineries

Very friendly and beautiful little winery with grapes ripening right in the backyard. Gary, the Sommelier and the company expert, was very educating and accommodating. The store let me try their award winning Riesling wine along with delicious Ice Wine. For the price of $20, one can get a great bottle of Finger Lakes wine! The seating is nice for a wedding or a special event. Plus it’s only about 20 min away from Rochester.

I just had my wedding there this past weekend and I can say they were absolutely amazing from the beginning to the end. I had an amazing time and everything we had planned came out event better than imagined. Thank you Belinda for helping me from the start and special thanks to Flynn for your amazing work coordination everything, but specially the day of the wedding, keeping everyone focus and on time and making sure I was feeling comfortable and enjoying the party. We are very grateful for the whole experience. The place is magical, drinks were on point and food delicious. 100% recommended.

Casa larga was a dream for our wedding day. Belinda was our sales manager who was very knowledgeable and friendly who toured us around and took the time to explain each package and answer all of our questions. David was our wedding coordinator who was always so calm and heard me out for all my crazy requests. He really went above and beyond to make my espresso martini tower dreams come true as well as my roaming cannoli station - even going out of his way to make sure my signature drink had coffee beans. When it came to our food tasting it was really disappointing as all of the food was overdone due to sitting too long in the hot box. Unfortunately, the chefs had already left for the day so they couldn't recook anything. Chris our food & beverage manager was very apologetic and he and the server Sam were also in shock of the food that was served. Chris did make it right by upgrading our filet to the higher package at no additional cost which we did appreciate especially because we traveled all the way from Florida for this tasting. I too work in the hospitality so I certainly understand things happen, but did leave me a little uneasy of what kind of food me and our guests would be served day of as it was hard to get an idea at the tasting. Sam reassured us this was not normal for them and that they always have rave reviews of their food from guests and almost promised us it would not be like this day of our wedding. Luckily Sam was right and all the food was delicious, staff and service was great and the roaming cannoli guy was just a hoot and really give a big shout out to everyone for turning it around and making our wedding perfect.

We recently had our wedding reception at Casa Larga and had a truly incredible experience. Dave and the entire team made sure our event was absolutely perfect! From start to finish, Dave worked closely with us to plan every detail—food, drinks, décor, and layout—so the space felt exactly right for our friends and family to celebrate. The service on the day was outstanding. Thanks to Dave’s expert coordination, the wait staff ensured our 180 guests were taken care of throughout the evening. We can’t thank Dave and the staff at Casa Larga enough for their professionalism, warmth, and attention to detail. We highly recommend Casa Larga to anyone planning their wedding or other big event—you’ll be in excellent hands!

My husband and I recently got married at Casa Larga and we are incredibly happy with how our wedding turned out. It is an absolutely gorgeous venue overlooking their vineyard, with countless spots for romantic photo ops both inside and outside. The wine was excellent, especially their white wines. The food was delicious and cooked perfectly. The wedding coordinator, David, is hands down the best person you could ever ask for to help coordinate a wedding. He was professional, kind, organized, and thoughtful. It was obvious that David genuinely cared about our happiness and wanted to make sure our special day was extra special. He made sure he understood exactly what we envisioned for our wedding, from the food, to the decor, to the vibes, and executed it perfectly. It rained on the day of our wedding, so we had to switch the ceremony from outside to inside. David and his team had no problem pivoting to an inside ceremony, and quickly made adjustments, which we very much appreciated. I could go on and on about how amazing our experience with Casa Larga was for our wedding. If you want the wedding of your dreams, have it at Casa Larga; you won't be disappointed. I also highly recommend Casa Larga for any other kind of special event or just a fun day of wine tasting. 5 out of 5 stars!

Google
We could not have picked a better venue for our wedding. The setting was absolutely gorgeous, the food was delicious, and the staff were fantastic to work with. David was our coordinator for the day, and he was on top of everything! The whole day went so smoothly! We didn't have to worry about a thing. We didn't have the best weather and made the decision to move the ceremony inside. The staff handled the set up and take down, quickly and flawlessly converting the ballroom from the ceremony to the reception during cocktail hour. We had so much fun both in the planning process and on our big day. You won't regret having your wedding at Casa Larga!

Google
My husband and I had our wedding ceremony and reception at Casa Larga a couple weekends ago and we can’t even put into words how magical of a day it was. Casa Larga is beautiful on the inside and has the prettiest view of the vineyards for the ceremony. The staff and our wedding coordinator, David, are the absolute best and really make sure that they can do anything to make your day special. The food is SO good, almost all of our guests came up or reached out to us and said how it was the best wedding food they’ve ever had. Even my pickiest eater friends said that everything tasted amazing. If you’re wondering about having your wedding here, just do it, you won’t regret it. (And the wine is phenomenal).

I recently had my wedding at Casa Larga, and it was absolutely incredible! The vineyard setting provided such a beautiful and romantic backdrop for our day. The staff were friendly and helpful, making everything run smoothly. The food was absolutely delicious and I reviewed so many compliments from my guests about the food and drinks. I also want to give a huge shoutout to our day-of coordinator, David. He was amazing! His attention to detail and calming presence made the day feel effortless. He really went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. If you’re thinking about Casa Larga for your wedding, I can’t recommend it enough.

Yelp
What a wonderful and HOT Thursday evening at the vineyard for their summer Patio night. Great music, food and fun was had by all. I even saved room for some cookie dough ice cream for dessert to cool me off!
google avatar

Tara M.

Yelp
We went here for a work event. The space was very big and lots of room to host just about any space. The view over the vineyard was amazing at sundown. Wine has always been, okay. Nothing to write home about. Food was great. I was surprised how good the food actually was. I had the pan seared chicken breast with mushroom and shallot sauce. It was a little spicy, which I enjoyed. My husband had the pan seared sea bass finished with a mango jalapeño chutney. He said his was pretty good, but felt it could have been cooked a little more. For food, the only complaint I would have is that when they set out the coffee they only Provided flavored creamer. No milk, no regular cream. I had to ask for cream directly and they did actually bring some out without any issues.

Yelp
My second visit was to Casa Larga Vineyards, a family run vineyard, and a shop for local wines. A pleasant event venue for the community. The first time for a summer gathering with friends, sipping wine and listening to music. We enjoyed ourselves and had a great time. The wines were smooth and enjoyable. They have ice wine too. Very refreshing in the heat of summer. They also had beers to drink. The problem is the food. The only food truck at the festival ran out of food midway. The foods in house were very limited to a charcuterie platter and pizza. More than 1 hr to get the food. We were so hungry we devoured everything in minutes once it was brought to us by the children. I guess the children were the buffer so people will not complain. I just went for a craft festival, and food delivery took at least 45 minutes, and the crowd was not that big. So obviously, they are not equipped to feed crowds. This time I drank Celebration prosecco-style wine, very light with a slight bubble.

Yelp
We had a large (140p) banquet here. David, the weekend manager, was phenomenal. Any issues we had - coffee etc, he went out of his way to make sure it was rectified. Great large room - perfect for our needs. Food is prepared offsite so changing numbers can be an issue but David and the staff were excellent.

Yelp
I came here for Ice Wine tour!! It isn't as big as they usually have it, but we still enjoyed ourselves. Truthfully it is quite enjoyable with less people to navigate around, we even got to tour the cellar and how they make the wine. Love the whole experience and atmosphere. I do not love the weather though! Lol

Yelp
My mom and I came to Casa Larga for a wine flight after a bridal shower, and it was beautiful! Their staff was very kind and helped us choose what we were looking for, and the service was very fast. We sat in the tasting room and enjoyed some wine and a cheese board and had a lot of fun. Their wine is pretty good, but I was not overly impressed with the cheese board. For the price of the experience, I would have expected a little bit more. This all being said, we will definitely be back again if we are back in the area in the future!

Yelp
Went to a cute holiday market here this past weekend. Was super cute and it was a really pretty property with plenty of parking.

Yelp
We just stopped for a quick wine tasting and picked up a few bottles today, Sunday at noon. Staff was very friendly engaging and had a sense of humor. They have expanded since my last visit for an indoor dining area and there's a lovely deck outside. We understand on Thursdays. They have slushy tasting outside and live music. They have a lovely gift area as well.

Ann L.

Yelp
disgusting wines, poor excuse for food, $15 for a mini pizza that was obviously microwaved, totally dried out, tasted like the cardboard it was served on. Totally inedibl. $13 for a bottle of wine which is reasonable but you can't buy a bottle to drink on the premises, you have to buy the same wine for $12 a glass. talk about a total rip off. excuse is local bylaws but none of the other 200 plus wineries in the finger lakes have this stupid rule. All the rave reviews are for weddings which are catered by an independent firm, not by the winery I have to say this is the absolute worst wine in the finger lakes and the food they provide is totally inedible. Avoid this place!

Lydia M.

Yelp
While I think it is really cool that this brewery is right in Fairport, I don't think their wine is anything special. I did their Riesling tasting, which was three different kinds, and while it was fine, I've definitely had better. I would go here again, but it's definitely not my favorite winery.

Yelp
Casa Larga Vineyards was a beautiful place to have my sisters Bridal Shower in June. The outdoor patio offers a breathtaking view of the vineyard. Belinda was an incredible help at helping me organize everything. The prices were fair, the food was delicious, and the wine... ::chef's kiss::
google avatar

Chelsea B.

Yelp
I can't say enough about how amazing Casa Larga is. They were the venue for my bridal shower and (rescheduled) wedding reception. The team was amazing to work with (Belinda and Tammy were our main points of contact), especially given all of the changes in mandates surrounding COVID. I received so many compliments from our guests on the beauty of the venue and everything ran very smoothly. I would definitely recommend this venue to anyone looking for a wedding venue or an event space for their next function.
google avatar

Connie P.

Yelp
So this is our 2nd visit here and on this day, they actually had a bridal show in one of their rooms. But they place is very beautiful and they had an area for tasting wine as well as some brews. We actually chose to taste wine paired with Chocolate. That was an awesome experience. They have a wide variety to choose from and they all were very good. So good that we bought 2 bottles. This place is great and so are the employees. They are very knowledgeable and helpful! We will be back when we run out.
google avatar

Belen P.

Yelp
I've been to casa larga several times! I love their summer concerts, people dance and the atmosphere is really fun! Their wine slushies are a little too sweet for me but they have plenty other wine to enjoy!
google avatar

Lydia C.

Yelp
Has the absolute tastiest lilac wine. Came to do a tasting with some out-of-towners, and I was impressed with the friendliness of the service and sitting area. We did our flights out on the patio, which had metal lawn furniture and umbrellas, and then got a glass each (they do not sell you a bottle to consume onsite) of the lilac wine and split a charcuterie board (which was plenty for 4 people) in the upstairs sitting area. The deck was reserved for a wedding, but the views were lovely, so I imagine sitting out there would be nice.

Yelp
We visited on a weekend (Summer) to do the tour and tastings. At the time it was just something to do. Around the time we went, their site stated that tours on Saturday were only at 12pm and 4pm, so we got there early enough for the 12pm start and we didn't sign up online - the option is available. You get a tour of the grounds and learned some from how the wines came to be and the story behind the family that owns it - it was interesting. We also went inside (downstairs) and found out why certain wines are in certain barrels. It was a very nice wine history lesson on this venue. After the tour, we got to taste some of the wines and they were very good. The ones I enjoyed the most were Pallido (a Medium Dry Wine), Lilac Hill, White Sangria and then mixed with the Red Sangria (Sweet Wines) and the Fiori-8 (Ice Wine). The latter one, I wanted to buy a bottle, but held off because of the price and I felt the wine would have been finished by me before I left the building - it was that good. The employees were very helpful, especially Dan who went above and beyond to make our visit pleasant as I enjoyed my visit there.

Yelp
I stopped today at my Casa Larga for something other than wine! They carry Cindy's grape pies this time of the year and I had to get one. I also bought the pineapple lime slushie and it was very good. I think I prefer their wine plain myself because the icy slushie was too cold on the teeth! Luckily I always have a bottle of their wine on hand for company. They are an excellent smaller winery. 13-14 years ago my daughter has her wedding f reception there and the venue is gorgeous! Check them out! I'm adding a few pictures of their gifts and other local products they sell'

Antonio V.

Yelp
They sell the best wines on the Market. Within a reasonable distance from the Finger Lakes or Lake Ontario. I'm sure I'll try any of their foods available on my next visit

Yelp
Over the years I have been here for different events (Ice Wine Fest, Yelp elite event, etc) and wine tastings. Most recently friends had extra tickets to the CLV summer happy hour event out on the winery's front lawn. It was a beautiful evening and with the ticket you got one drink - I chose one of their blush wines - it was OK. That has always been my opinion of their wines - just OK. The vibe of this event was fun given the music and the sun setting over the vineyards. It is nice to have a vineyard right in Rochester's backyard especially when you don't want to trek down to the Finger Lakes.

Yelp
This is a wonderful wedding venue. It's beautiful. Service was excellent. The flow of traffic from the receiving line to the bar area for the cocktail hour to the dining room went smoothly. The venue is lovely. We liked the view of the vineyards from the patio. The food was great, not just for a wedding but in general. My husband's filet mignon was juicy and perfectly cooked. My salmon was also perfectly cooked, even though the sauce was a little bland. Their wines were good, if not my favorites. If you're planning a wedding, I'd definitely consider this venue. If you're attending a wedding here, you are in for a treat.
google avatar

Yelp
Was amazing! Came on a sunny day during the fall. Was able to site outside and the views are beautiful. You also can sit inside as an option. Had two flights. One was of sweet wines including their ice wine, which was so good! You can also make your own flight with variation of different wines. The staff were nice.
google avatar

Yelp
Are we on our 3rd or 4th case of wine pickups since quarantine began? Who knows. What we do know is how much we love Casa Larga wine and how close it is to home. It took no arm twisting to convince me to be a lifetime member, with free tastings and discounts. We can't get enough of the Lilac Hill, and I'd count the Cab Merlot among the best red options in the region. Around the 4th, we also really enjoy the red sangria with a little sprite and fresh fruit.
google avatar

Yelp
Well.....beautiful property, pretty good wine. But I work super hard for my money and don't part with it without good reason and confidence that I will have a superior product or experience. Therefore I was somewhat disappointed when we took our daughter for a birthday outing of wine tasting. We tried to make reservations and were informed that they wouldn't be needed for just the three of us. However, when we arrived there was just one person at the counter assisting other guests. The poor woman did everything; took orders, went to the kitchen to prepare food, poured wine, while gradually the line around us grew longer and longer. We were patient and made the most of our time waiting to order and then FOR our order by going on a self tour of the premises, exploring the merchandise in the gift area, and then asking if we could go sit on the deck. We were not able to do to an "event" that was to be held, however there was no one there. We ended up carrying our "flights" to the outdoor patio where our descriptions of wine promptly blew away and several of the plastic cups of wine blew over. My terrific husband who remained committed to the experience chased the paperwork, stec his wine and STILL braved the disorder and edited in line to make a purchase. Our hostess also did apologize profusely, and I KNOW this has been a terrible time for the hospitality industry, so I'll continue to practice my patience and just hope they are able to recover with a few hires to assist the weekenders who are dying to get out and back to normal!
google avatar

Brenda K.

Yelp
This review is specifically for their recent Purple Foot Festival (PFF), which was SO MUCH FUN! None of us had ever been to the vineyard, and, BOY, after the PFF that will change! It is surprisingly close to Rochester! With stunning views!!! And very tasty wines! The PFF was a ton of fun! With your entry-fee, there are wine tastings, sangria tastings, hay rides through the vineyards, music, grape stomping, pie eating contests (hilarious!), a vendor-shopping area, and much more. A wonderful way to spend a Sunday afternoon with friends! We'll be back to enjoy the vineyards -- bet they're pretty stunning in the Autumn with foliage!
google avatar

Nikki G.

Yelp
I've been here before many years ago. They have really changed the place up and it looked great before, but not it looks even better. It was a little chaotic at first when our wine tasting began, because the lady taking care of us was finding the wine, and then this other man poured some wine in my glass and I didn't know what it was and it just got weird. Also, for some reason my tasting got a little off because she didn't look at my sheet beforehand like the other two people I was with, and noticed I had two drier wines on my list, and she had already poured the sweeter tasting wines. I purchased two wines the dry rose and the Tramonto. Those were my favorite. The Dry Rose will be perfect for sipping on the porch, at night, in the summer. The Tramonto will be great with beef.

Yelp
Stopped in near the very end of the day as part of the "Christmas Around the World" Lake Ontario Wine Tour/event. It was our last stop and things were winding down from that but winding up for them for a big holiday party they were hosting. The staff who helped us was great-we appreciated that she was honest with us and had a great sense of humor. They tucked us away upstairs so we could relax and enjoy without feeling rushed to move on. Great way to unwind after a long day on the trail. I'm sure we'll be back! For a festival or event-the string quartet I play in performs here often!

Christina S.

Yelp
They didn't allow dogs anywhere on the property even outside, which is kind of dumb. Can definitely understand no dogs inside the building but none outside was a first. Would recommend management adjusts to the times !

Yelp
Apparently wine tasting is a weekly fun thing to do here in Rochester. On my short weekend visit, My friend decided it had to be on my must try list. We chose this winery for their famous lilac wine. Upon arrival we were given a menu for us to mark on. For $2, each of us was allowed to taste 5 wines on their menu (including 1 ice wine!). I have the sweetest tooth so checking off the sweetest wines they have available was an easy decision. We were given a brief history and summary of our chosen wine before each tasting. Although I'm more of a white wine person, my personal fav ended up being the red sparkle! It tasted so much like strawberry soda yum. The ice wine with honey and apricot was simply amazing! We were given the option of choosing 3 of our 5 tasting entirely from the ice wine menu for an extra $5. But since I didn't know what ice wine was until this visit, I just went with their regular menu. With my sweet tooth, I would def opt for that option on my next visit. For an additional $5, u can also choose your wine tasting to go with either chocolate or cheese. The only downside is that it's a pre-set tasting so u won't get to choose the wines. Chocolate and wine? Sounds like a perfect date! Too bad we were only allowed one tasting on each visit or we would have gone in a second round with the chocolate tasting. We ended up each leaving with a bottle of or favorite wine. Can't believe My first wine tasting experience was here in Rochester and surprisingly fun! Now going to look for more wineries back in the city!

Claire K.

Yelp
Casa Larga was the perfect location for our wedding. First of all, it is really great in terms of convenience because you get bar service and catering directly included at a very reasonable price so you don't have to worry about searching for those services separately. It's also a great location, not too far out from Rochester. I know I made the right decisions because we received so many compliments on the venue, including the beautiful indoor space, the gorgeous vineyard views, and how EXCELLENT the food was! Seriously though, I am ALWAYS disappointed with the food when I attend a wedding so my expectations were low... Our food was PHENOMENAL, in fact I was 100% convinced my father who flew in from France would not be one bit impressed and guess what... he was VERY happy with his beautiful filet. I had the sea bass and it was DELICIOUS. Guests were SO happy, someone even said they wanted to change their current caterer they have booked for their upcoming wedding because they wanted the Casa Larga food! The catering manager Mary Kay was so accommodating and really went above and beyond for us, I was so grateful. The space is absolutely gorgeous which was really helpful for me because I am not good with decorations so I was able to do minimal work here... (plus I was planning this from Texas as we do not live in Rochester anymore so decorations were complicated for me), the space is perfectly fine on its own. The staff, event manager and our amazing coordinator David were so incredibly accommodating and helpful... I've heard horror stories about day of coordinators who don't end up helping a lot, this was NOT the case for us, we felt supported and understood months before the event, and I had no stress at all about the venue. The day of, we felt like ROYALTY; even though we had a lot going on, the staff and coordinator ALWAYS made sure we had everything we needed. I think this venue gets a lot of business, yet they made us feel so special, we did not feel like we were just another wedding for them, we never felt pressured into anything they really let us take the reigns, they were incredibly dedicated, communication was ALWAYS great. Our social medias were FLOODED with pictures of guests who had taken pictures outside in front of the vines at sun set. Our guests had a wonderful time and that was so important to us. Cannot recommend this beautiful venue enough!

Yelp
Casa Larga is a great place to stop by when the weather is nice. I prefer to venture over when in the spring or fall. The best deal is to get tastings with your tour. It doesn't take much time. The white wines are better than the reds here. I am typically a dry wine person, but I do enjoy a glass of their seasonal Lilac Hill to kick of the spring going into summer. Most of their other wines I do not think are particularly memorable. They often have farmer's markets and little events sprinkled during the summer. This is a great wedding venue with a big open ballroom as well. I know someone who got married here and enjoyed the service the venue provided. If you have nothing to do, stop by and grab a glass to enjoy on their wrap around porch.
google avatar

Danielle R.

Yelp
I came here with my friends during our cider/wine tour. This was our second to last stop so we were feeling fine when we got here. There was a wedding and us silly girls loved it and all got super excited. The bridal party was all in the tasting area and it was so fun. We all got a bunch of samples and truly enjoyed everything we tried. The woman who was serving us was great. She had so much personality and it was truly fun because of her. The tasting room was also a shop so you can get all sorts of stuff needed for your parties, including many bottles of wine. A great place to come for some wine!
google avatar

Yelp
I will admit, I was hesitant to try Casa Larga based on some of these bad reviews but I am glad I gave it a shot as we had a wonderful time. Charlie took us through our tasting which was buy one get one free at the time! He was very knowledgeable about all of the wines which was impressive given the large list. All that we tried were very nice. The tasting and the wine were reasonably priced and the service was exceptional. Ignore the haters.
google avatar

Brianna F.

Yelp
We had a wonderful experience wine tasting at Casa Larga. Our host Lou was very knowledgable about all of the wines she was pouring. The selection of wine to taste is exceptional. They have many award winning wines including their incredible ice wine. They even have sweet ice slushees if you are feeling that. The dry rose is a must try along with the gewürztraminer. Every wine has smooth finish. There is a 40$ life time membership which gets you free tastings every time along with 10% off your wine every visit. Its a great deal for a place like this. Must visit if in Rochester and I know we will definitely be continually going back.

Yelp
Casa larga has so much beautiful history according to the friendly staff. They are very knowledgeable and know what to recommend shout out to Paige who taught my wife and I so much about the history of each wine we tasted. I had a great time in my first visit to casa larga. For my taste there are a few wines so far that I enjoy and bought. I recommend a wine tasting session for sure!

Sarah R.

Yelp
If you have been dreaming of your wedding for many years like I was, there is no better place to get married than at Casa Larga. Belinda Countryman, is the wedding planning coordinator, so we began our planning process with her. Then, about 2 months before our wedding, we were assigned our day of wedding planner, David Suatoni. He was incredible. He went way above and beyond with immense patience, kindness, and creativity, during the difficult time we are all living in: covid. The wedding ceremony, dinner, and reception, all ran smooth as silk. My dreams all came true at the beautiful Casa Larga!
google avatar

Brittany R.

Yelp
Casa Larga is my favorite winery. Absolutely the best! The Purple Foot Festival that they have every year in September around my birthday is incredibly fun. Stomping grapes, tasting, the food trucks, the food, the vendors! It is definitely an unappreciated festival in the Rochester area. As far as the wines go, if you are a fan of the dry reds, my absolutely go-to wine. I love their Tramanto. Their tastings are great and the people are knowledgeable. The one draw-back is that if you're a big fan of sweet wines, their selection is a little scant. I love the dry aspects that they are able to pull out from their wines. Also, their ice wine is to DIE for.

Yelp
Came here recently for a wedding. It was very beautiful we were in the large room with tons of windows and the sunset was gorgeous. The serving staff was great along with bartenders everybody was very accommodating. I wish that there were more signs directing us towards where we needed to be for the wedding but we figured it out and nonetheless !

Joe T.

Yelp
We went there for a tasting as we are wine club members. Found out because of covid, the tastings come in flights and only offered one dollar off for members. This is vs. the agreement when we signed up for lifetime free tastings. The comes across as a convenient way to back out of the original agreement. Sounds like we buzz by this place on the way to Seneca Lake.

Yelp
First time here couple weeks ago for a winter holiday party. The venue is really pretty. The ballroom is a good size with windows all around. Would be perfect for wedding and big events. There is a bar adjacent to the ballroom in a separatae area but is connected through an open corridor. The wine shop is in the same building but on the other side. I tried four out of the five Casa Larga wines that they served at the event. They were all quite good, especially the reisling. If you prefer sweet wines, their chardonney is also on the relative sweet side from the typical chardonney. The reisling is just the right amount of sweetness. The prices on these wines are competitive too. I am definitely going to get a few bottles to stock up.

Yelp
Ice Wine I finally tried as you know is sweet but worth it, other wines are pretty good. They have revamped the tasting room. Nice staff still a good place to take novice wine drinkers. The wines are good not fabulous but worth a shot to try.

Yelp
Came by for an incredible tasting. I tried a number of wines, including their Barrel Fermented Dry Riesling which was my favorite because it wasn't too sweet but still had a great taste. Their Gewurztraminer was also a unique, not too sweet flavor. I also suggest trying once of their Ice Wines for a very unique flavor as well. I had the Fiori Vidal Blanc Ice Wine. It's best as a dessert in my opinion but still fantastic. Absolutely check it out and do a tasting at the very least! All their barrels are in their basement and that was really cool to check out as well on their tour.

Yelp
Obviously not good wines. Took about an hour for a horrible wine tasting. One woman was pouring really good and we got that girl that barely gave us a tablespoon that we paid for a 10$ tasting. Not sure how this place is still in business? Go to keuka lake. You won't be disappointed. Horrible representation for nys wines. I understand that they were "busy" but there was no organization and I've been bartending my whole life. I never got a hello after standing there for over ten minutes waiting patiently. Maybe they need to schedule more tasters on the weekends and be prepared. Many people were getting frustrated.

Yelp
The group and I visited this winery in a hot and humid summer day. We were supposed to walk about the vineyard but the rain started pouring a little, so we did the tour in the basement instead. The lady who gave the tour was ready to rock and roll, very energetic. Good for you! Did you just have some wine? Kidding, of course! After the basement we went upstairs back to the ground floor where the store, products, gifts and wine tasting are located. Quite a nice size for 40-50 people. We sampled about 7 all together. Couldn't remember all the names from the samples but I'm familiar with wines, thanks to my previous internship at a wine company. At Casa Larga we had riesling dry & med-dry, chardonnay, merlot and cab and plus a dessert wine. Well, when you coordinate a wine tasting event like this, of course you don't give out the best bottle for all. You would do one better than the rest and the rest are just mediocre bottles. I remember doing my marketing internship at Morrell & Co., Friday is set to be a wine tasting day. Hmmm, remember those days, when I was so young! There are some sweets and souvenirs all around the store. You can purchase them. You also get some discount coupon in case you want to purchase the wine at that moment. It's a good place to hold an event. Wine, they're usually better with age (of course), while humans are the opposite of that. The older we get, the stubborn we get, then some start to whine. Have some wine! Light-up! A wine doesn't fight! So, drink-up!

Yelp
Very nice service person when she finally showed up. People were wandering around waiting for help and wondering what to do. Wine "flight" was interesting-kinda like a mini tasting menu. That didn't make sense but hey, three tastes is better than no tastes. Overall there must be a shortage of personnel as this vineyard is quite disorganized.

Yelp
Located in the greater Rochester area, this vineyard was a pleasant find this past summer (June). Upon entering the parking lot, S and I noticed that it was full for a Saturday morning and everyone walking inside was well dressed. "Sh-t is this only for aristocrats?" I though to myself as we walked into the main doors. "We're so underdressed." Luckily the answer was no. We soon discovered that not only does Casa Larga provide wine tastings and tours, but it also rents his space for weddings and other special occasions. While enjoying a wine tasting, S and I witnessed a wedding reception taking place. We saw an excited bridal party passing through. The wine store/tasting section is one large room with their signature wines on the floor. You can get your ubiquitous wine accessories (books, bottle corks, carrying cases, etc - any toys that a wine dork like me sees everywhere, but still appreciates) as well. Casa Larga also carries Mercer's wine ice cream (I wasn't a big fan - tried the Cherry Merlot and Red Raspberry Chardonnay). The wine tasting which is a few dollars, offers 5 pours from a list of 24 wines. The tours are on a fixed schedule and last about an hour. I could stay there all day, drink wine and chat with their experts. The staff always marks the bottles after they're opened. I like that idea, protecting their customers from tasting nectar of an old bottle. Kolinda and Wayne were happy to discuss wine with all visitors. Because they do not have a liquor license, they are not allowed to serve you more than 5 pours. Rats. This is important! Pick your wines wisely! I picked 5 whites, planning to try a flight of reds after and received this stunning news after the 4th taste. Disappointment! Do you know how frustrating that can be? I wanted to taste them all! Hats off to my favorites (that I tried): the Oak Reserve Pinot Noir, made in French Hungarian Oak and the Lilac Hill (blended with a muscat grape) aged in stainless steel for 8 months. As much awards the Fiori Delle Stelle Vidal Ice Wine received, I wasn't a fan. I was tempted to walk out and come back in 5 minutes to try the next selection of wines, but that doesn't work. Oenophiles, it's a shame this beautiful place (see photos) is so far away. It was so good, S and I returned the next day before we returned to the airport. Yelp
It's ok. YP's brother has his wedding reception here and the fam probably has a higher opinion than I do. I just didn't care for the woman pouring our tastes. There was a certain uppityness to her that just wasn't warranted. I didn't like most of the wines and I was disappointed that the ones they bragged about as "award-winning" on the tasting list weren't available to taste. Coming from California wine country, this place strikes me as a little pathetic. I really feel like your tasting fee should be waived when you buy 4 bottles of wine-- not $1 taken off. $1 is insulting, you should just forget about the discount alltogether!! That being said, the grounds are nice and view is pretty. It seems like they've built an addition down the road-- maybe for the restaurant? I'm sure I'll be back-- maybe I won't get the same snooty vibe.

Yelp
I have been to Casa Larga a few times for events and they are all very professional. Place is clean and ambiance is decent. I attended the Ice Wine Festival and I have to say I did not mind being out in the cold looking at the vineyard covered in snow. (I took a lot of photos of the vineyard).

Yelp
Being where Casa Larga is located (the well off areas of Victor/Pittsford) I had my mind made up it wouldn't be great. However, I've gone several times, and every pourer has given me a great experience! Apart of the "Finger Lakes wine trail" and the closest winery to Rochester its a great place for an after work taste or even on date or afternoon adventure. The last time I visited was with an out-town guest when we didn't have time to visit the finger lakes. It's $4 for a tasting, which is slightly more than the other wineries I've visited. You however do get a pitty $1 off a bottle of wine with the tasting... really? $1, I think they could be a little more generous with that. One of things I do enjoy about Casa is the wide range of all pretty good wines. Some wineries specialize in reds or whites, but their entire range of white to red, sweet to red is all pretty solid. Every time I've visited each pourer has "hooked us up" with allowing us to try maybe the stainless steel Chardonnay vs the oak or the 2007 Pinot vs the 2008 so you can see the different in tastes (this is in addition to the 5 tastes). I believe that this really sets them apart from other wineries. Also this last time, we paid the additional $5 for the ice wining tastings. If you are a fan of ice wine, please indulge yourself and try it. I didn't enjoy the Cabernet Franc Ice Wine as much as their award winning Vidal Blanc. They have a range of wine prices as well, some I've got 1.5 liter for about $13! They also have banquet facilities to host larger events, that open up to a great hillside view of the vines, but I haven't experienced that. Not the absolute best of the Finger Lakes, but a great start or finishing point for a wine trail roadtrip.

Yelp
This is my first and best experience at a vineyard! It did not disappoint at all! The hostess was amazing and engaging! I would recommend to someone looking for a calm, relaxing, and fun thing to do.
