This excellent hotel offers spacious very well-appointed loggia rooms which are high-ceilinged and cool. We received superb friendly service at all times with plenty of areas to relax and a refreshing pool. The breakfast was served with elegance and style.

Lovely small hotel in the center of Merida. Very well-located with close proximity to numerous restaurants and bars in the beautiful center of the city. Professional and very accommodating staff. Beautiful patio area, pleasant in-house. Delicious, well-prepared breakfast. Highly recommended.

Excellent hotel - would stay here again in a heartbeat. Everything was good: location, room, service, and AMAZING breakfast (take the menu, it does cost a bit extra but 10000000% worth it). Also would recommend pre-booking (before your stay) a mezcal tasting! Pool is also lovely.

A fabulous boutique hotel where nothing is too much trouble for the welcoming staff. Location is great - Calle 47 is a lovely street and an easy walk into town, with plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from.|Our room was delightful and the a la carte breakfast was wonderful. We would highly recommend.

We loved our 3 night stay in this beautiful, stylish and secluded hotel. Our garden room was spacious with lots of amenities and even had a sunken bath. Breakfast in the covered courtyard was delicious. A very short walk from the hotel is a fabulous quirky restaurant called Catrin.

We were delighted with our stay at Casa Lecunda. There are only seven rooms in this delightful boutique hotel, which for us somewhat resembled a Moroccan riad. We found the service excellent. On arrival we had a complementary margarita. Our room was roomy enough and decorated with tiles and Mexican wood features that gave it an authentic feel. The rooms look out onto an open area, which has lots of seating and swimming pool. There were shutters for the windows so that you can ‘black out’ the room. As there is a policy of no children, it was very quiet. Charming, quaint, quiet, excellent service. While it provided breakfast, there is no onsite restaurant. This didn’t matter to us as there are a number of great restaurants nearby and the hotel manager gave us some excellent recommendations. Couldn't recommend this accommodation more highly!

You know when you love a place so much that you want to write the perfect review? Then you delay so long cause you are worried that you won't be able to do so? Perfection is the enemy of action, no?||We loved this place. I spent many an hour reviewing options in Merida to stay, and I doubt that I will ever stay elsewhere after enjoying Lecanda!||The rooms are exceptional, but the service is the real star of the show. Like a cocktail? check, they'll make you a great one. Love breakfast? check, they'll prepare and serve you in style! Need a tour, etc.? They'll organize a private tour that will be better than you could have done so yourself.||The location in town seemed great. The nearby retail was updated and nice, and other parts of the town were all within reasonable walking distance.||It really felt as if we were living inside a movie set (in the best way possible). A really memorable stay!

Absolutely wonderful. Must be best of Mérida because we’ve traveled high end all over the world and this was possibly our best hotel experience ever. Like being taken care of in a gorgeous private home. It’s simply exquisite. Beautiful courtyard around pool with huge mature trees. Lovely furnishings and artwork.||Indoor rooms are gorgeous as well…bar, formal dining, and kitchen…oh yeah the kitchen is open to the courtyard and beautiful as well. Even the courtyard bathroom is beautiful, with gorgeous tile and high ceiling. ||Large deluxe rooms with very high ceilings. Large stone tubs for 2. Very romantic.||Fantastic staff throughout. Enjoyed conversing with our server Mario. My wife and her sister hugged him and teared up when we had to leave. Our early maid Theresa so full of joy with her lovely smile. Never met the later maid who did turndown service but enjoyed the yummy chocolates she left.||Wonderful breakfast with wide selection. Can’t go wrong, all superb. And inexpensive, as are the drinks from the bar. No food service after 11 am or so but many great restaurants in easy walking distance. Street recently reconstructed, clean and beautiful, one way. Lined with very good restaurants for a few blocks. Oliva Enoteca across the street has some of best Italian I’ve ever eaten. Fine Mexican a block or 2 further at Micaela Mar y Lena. ||We made roadtrip to Ixi’im for dinner. Interesting but a mistake. Only 11km away but took an hour to get there. Did tasting menu, overpriced, some great, some weird. ||Road trip to Uxmal was fantastic. Had drinks afterwards at the Hacienda before driving back.||Another road trip to Sotuta de Peon for tour of the hacienda and algae farm/rope production. Very enjoyable tour, great history lesson including how Mayans were exploited to build unbelievable wealth from rope business. Beautiful property. Lots of old machinery still running…how they used to make rope when these people were among the wealthiest in the world. At one point you basically go inside a machine grinding the algae with huge old belts and pulleys all around you. With a cenote swim underground at the end if you want (we opted for drinks instead)

Yelp
My wife and I stayed at Casa Lecanda for my 50th birthday trip in March, 2021. The hotel is conveniently located about 2 minutes walking from Paseo de Montejo and about 14 minutes from the Centro Historico (Cathedral, Palace, main plaza). It is a boutique hotel with only 7 rooms that are named rather than numbered. They offer free parking and a free breakfast which includes fruit, yogurt, granola, bread, coffee, and juice. It is excellent and was enough for us most days but they do also offer other full breakfast meal items like eggs, bacon, french toast, etc. for an additional charge. While you are staying there you should also try the Oliva Enoteca restaurant less than a block away. It was one of our favorite meals of the trip. We really can't say enough about Casa Lecanda - the rooms were spacious, the service impeccable, and the location very convenient. We'll definitely be back!
