I wasn’t expecting much, as it’s one of the cheapest places in town, but I really liked this place. The staff are super friendly and on the ball. For example, when the light in the shared bathroom wasn’t working, someone fixed it immediately. There’s a beautiful courtyard garden in the middle where I saw numerous hummingbirds. The location is good - central but fairly quiet. The rooms are basic but comfortable, there’s free drinking water and the WiFi works well.

Hospedaje Casa Linda is simple but clean and pretty good value for being in central Panajachel. I paid Q80 for a single room with shared bathroom. The room was small but cosy, bed was comfortable and shower was hot. Also the WIFI is really good, which is not the case at many other places. The owner is quiet but helpful.|Few people were staying there though, I don't know why...

Casa Linda is given a good write up by the Rough Guide, which includes a description of I think a "stunning" lush central garden. In fact, the garden could only be regarded as stunning by someone who grew up in the Sahara desert. It's green alright, but overgrown and deeply average, especially in comparison to the natural scenery around Atitlan. ||||The rest of the reviews give a pretty good impression of the hotel overall. Average rooms, pleasant owner, few facilities, appears pretty secure. It's just off the main road, but at the opposite end from the lake itself - a good 10/15 minute walk. Panajachel itself is an ugly and overpriced town, and I'd recommend going to another village if you are going to Atitlan. San Pedro was a bit cramped and ugly itself, but there looked a few places on the edge of the town which seemed nice. Nothing really in Panajachel apart from boat out of it. ||||View from roof quite nice, but not sure you're supposed to go up there..||||Price was 120 Quetzals for a room with shared bathroom and 180 Quetzals en-suite.

Hospedaje Casa Linda is safe, quiet, and clean, and very convenient to the main street, Calle Santander, where you will find plenty of places to eat, shop, and entertainment. The owner is don Basilio Buch, and he and his staff are friendly.||||Directions: Casa Linda is just two blocks from where most of the buses drop people off at the top of Calle Santander. From Calle Principal, walk down (toward the lake) Calle Santander (the main shopping street) and take an almost immediate left (before Café Kitsch) on Calle Capulin. Then take the first callejon on the right and Casa Linda is the gate straight ahead. ||||A room with a shared bathroom runs about $8. Add another $6||per night for a room with a private bathroom. I like the ground floor, but I have been told the second floor gets more of a breeze. The small courtyard is peaceful and filled with colorful flowers and flowering trees. ||||On the downside: no cooking facilities, no wifi.||||I have stayed here for vacations in the past. For the last two years I stayed here for four months each winter.

Cheap and comfortable stay in Panajachel. It is run by a lovely and kind 90 year old man named Don Chilo. Highly recommend the stay and conversing with the man if your spanish is up for it.

This hotel had a warm and friendly staff. I cannot express this enough !!||However the room was over priced at 120.00 for 2 uncomfortable damp beds and a shared bath. We checked in in the afternoon and by evening you could hear the massive garden plants dripping which created dampness in the room and the bed felt wet all night. It smelled pretty damp as well and I could not wait for morning to arrive and check out. We were on ground level room 1. It was truly like being in a terrarium !!|The bathroom and room were clean. Dark lane to come down in evening and not much lighting in courtyard that has large overgrown garden. ||I would not recommend this hotel...although the staff are wonderful and Internet worked well. No T.V.|It was just far too damp.|

Two double beds in one private room for what's possibly the cheapest rate in town at 75Q ea for a night. There's a neighbouring hostel which also offers cheap prices if it's full here. Free towels, water and soap. Communal showers- my brother was electrocuted in the men's shower so don't touch the nozzle!!! Literally showered sparks on him. But the water was hot and the bathrooms were a decent size and clean. Super central and secure.

We walked here without booking ahead based on LP's report of a cheap double room at 85q. ||They had space, unfortunately for us the actual price for a double w shared bathroom was 150q (and in low season, most places 75%+ empty. ||Room was smallish, smelt a bit damp, was clean however. Bed was very uncomfortable, severe roll together (room 11). ||Staff were friendly, wifi was fast, small towels and soap provided. Shower head water heater worked OK. Excellent location. ||Moved to a cheaper spot for 2nd night; would only stay here if single (same room for 80q).
