The lake view from our spacious balcony was wonderful, and we enjoyed breakfast with fresh croissants every morning on the terrace. The hosts were extremely welcoming and even showed us how they had hand-painted some of the ceilings. Rooms are very large and airy. The B&B is up on the hillside, but we found that it is within walking distance of restaurants in Orselina, the cable car to Cardada, and the Madonna del Sasso and its funiculare. As we did not know there was a bus from the train station, we ended up taking a taxi, but on the way back, took the funiculare. Overall, this B&B is a great value.

We were lucky enough to find this bed and breakfast and enjoy all of its amenities. First, it's located in a 1920s health spa that's been updated to include private bathrooms. Don't be put off that the bathrrom is across the hall. They are large and pleasant. The room (double, but upgraded) had terrific furniture from the period and a FANTASTIC view of Laggo Magiorre which we enjoyed from our private deck. Next, it is within walking distance to the Funicular, so you can scoot down to the city without driving. Breakfast is included and is a very typical European fare. Finally, the hosts were very charming and welcoming. If you need to visit someone at the nursing home in Orselina (like we did), it is within walking distance, too.

Great view from the room. The also saved our day since they could make the breakfast 45min earlier than their normal schedule, very nice! Lovely view from the breakfast veranda as well. Room nice old stylish. You either get really amazed of the room or you already know you don't like it that way, then I guess you should or have already look elsewhere. Great beds, maybe a little soft for my taste, but slept awesome anyway :)

Located 250m above the lake, you have an unobstructed view of the Locarno, Ascona, the Alps and the lake. Wonderful garden with terrace, where breakfast can be taken. The 1920, 3 story house is very tastefully decorated and feels very homey. The owners are very friendly and helpful in guiding you to local excursions, restaurants, etc. Each room has its own bathroom/shower, but is located across the hall. No big deal. Very quiet at night and the bells of Madonna del Sasso at 7 am are not really a problem and just add to the uniqueness of the place. The B&B can be reached by No. 2 bus from the station until 7 PM, after that, you take a Buxi (Bus-Taxi) that leaves at 15’ past the hour until 00:15 from the station and takes you for CHF 4.- pp up the hill.

Excellent location, lovely old building with all modern appliances.||||The bathrooms are not in the room, but each room has his own private bathroom on the corridor, this special feature adds to the charm of the building. All very clean and kept with the age of the building.||||The hotel terrace and the private balconies have a lovely view over Locarno.||||The are is very quiet and relaxing. The parking is available outside the building and a close by walking distance a well appointed restaurant.||||The breakfast is continental and you also have a kitchen to use if needed to cook.||||Overall 2 nights spent with 4 friends in 3 bedrooms while doing a Triathlon competition.

Very disappointed by this B&B. Room not ready at arrival (1st problem). Our « final » room was not… the one we booked! The « large double room ». According to the owner, this denomination is nothing else than a « standard room » and he added that « anyways the room you booked is occupied by someone else »!||||The room he gave us was the one with the newest mattress because we made a comment about the (awful) bed from the previous night. However, a simple question in the morning about our room choice could have avoided this 2nd problem. And no price reduction was offered for that.||||We stayed 3 nights in our « final » room. The beds were not done when we came back in the evening. Place clean otherwise. Bathroom had a sad look. Breakfast (continental) was ok (pre-cooked bread), really no opulence. Which reveals the hospitality of this house and its owners (according to us).||||PS: for people travelling with public transportation and willing to benefit from the Ticino Ticket, the funicular Madonna del Sasso is not included. Return ticket is 5.70.-. I do not recommend this place for its practical location when it comes to coming back in the night (bus 2 otherwise, stops at 20:30/8:30PM). ||||From the Piazza Grande, you have to climb up 220m of steep slope to get to the B&B.||||But the view is amazing. Up to you to choose.

This hotel is situated in an old mansion. Needless to say that it can be quite loud, if you have the wrong neighbours. The big family which runs the hotel is easy-going, but not very attentive. The rooms are very charming (the beds could be better) and the view on the city of Locarno is just exceptionally nice. Room for improvement is definitely the breakfast - there is only bread, yoghurt, some slices of cheese and orange Juice - I would definitely expect more there. All in all, I would definitely go back there for a long weekend, but not for a whole week.

The hotel is a huge, old hill-side mansion with great views from the hotel rooms. The room are shabby-chic, and each has a private bathroom with a huge bathtub - although you do have to cross the landing to get to it! Breakfast was tasty, and Locarno centre is a charming place which you can access easily from the hotel via the vehicular railway (a short walk away) or you can walk down into town by many stone steps and past a beauful old church. You can also go up the mountain by cable car (again a short walk from the hotel). ||||Be aware the hotel has no lift.
