"For a more casual, local experience, visit Casa Lola, where small tables are ready to be loaded with all the local treats—pan con tomate, asparagus with romesco, croquettes, patatas bravisimas, and paella. A favorite amongst locals and in-the-know visitors, Casa Lola is always bustling (make a reservation to ensure seating) thanks to the chef’s modern take on classic tapas, and the restaurant’s lively atmosphere."

This place is great. I honestly don't agree with the negative reviews. The food is absolutely fine and the service is prompt and good. The staff is friendly and helpful. The prices are somewhat high, like everywhere else in Barcelona. The location is great. And so is the environment. Highly recommended. Especially for those clever people who don't want to waste their time trying to find a table at the more famous and busy respective places. Well done Lola.

The terrace was nice, but the serving was very poor. We were told that we have to wait 15 minutes for out paellas which seemed ok, but in the end our waiting time was 1 hour. The food was good but it did not meet our expectations. Maybe only for a drink the place is ok but I don't recommend it for the food.

Tiny slice of bread with persuto, can’t even call it tapas for about 4 eur... clamps OK, but lacking taste and herbs. Nachos with some tasty guacamole sauce. I suggest to work a bit more on whole customer experience....

Portions are small but pretty delicious. Try to select freshly prepared tapas as they also serve waited ones. Different than the majority of the comments, our foods are served very quickly.

The place is nice, but the service is not so good the tapas came in different moments and the restaurant has 4 tables at the same time.

Yelp
First off, do not confuse Casa Lola with Casa Lolea. Casa Lolea is the tapas bar that is famous for its sangria. Both the decor and atmosphere are very similar. My friends and I ordered a bottle of cava and shared it over a bowl of complimentary potato chips. The cava was fine, but not worth a visit specifically for. Perhaps the worst part of our experience was when we were ready to pay. It turned out that they could only accept cash since their credit card machine had broken. I wish they put up a note or told us beforehand. Thank goodness we had just enough cash on us. So lesson learned for all us tourists: always carry at least a meal's worth of Euros on you. Total cost: 15 Euros

Yelp
Really good location but in comparison to other tapas establishments around on the same street, probably a B+. The food was okay. Thank god we didn't get the paella because everyone's looked like crap but the potatoes and the meatballs were awesome. Giving this place 5 stars because the staff was super nice and trying really hard to accommodate vacationers from all over the world with all kinds of attitudes and demands. Wine was really good (I don't like sweet beverages) but the house sangria was like liquid candy (which my guest loved because he had a sweet tooth)

Yelp
I wouldn't even give this place a 1 star. The service was awful. The Paella was package rice and the chicken undercooked. Way over priced at 14 euro. The pasta brava was basically like fries with mayonnaise on top.. the meatballs were 10 euros and were also cold and undercooked. People passing by asked us how the food was and we told them no good. Basically the waiter threatened to call the police on us. I have visited Barcelona before and I must say this was absolutely the worst food and service by far.

Yelp
Ok: you cannot believe the flavor of the "chips de berenjena con miel de caña" = "thin deep fried eggplant". It is spectacular, mingled with sugar cane syrup. Besides the eggplant, the padrones pepper are out this world, and the octopus is as yummy you can imagine. Together with a 2013 Priorat, by Torres, ... we felt we had the whole experience, ... until we dip our spoons into the "apple bravas" dessert. Besides the food, Sergio was an outstanding waiter!Anyway: we are coming back!

Yelp
This show was super amazing! Very intense and powerful flamenco show. Loved the dancers. They were also super friendly. They also waited around to take pictures with the audience. If you are around the area, you must stop by for drinks and a show.

Yelp
The food is garbage and service is worse. Stay away! Tourist trap. We were served very fishy fish. Happened to be on this street and starving. Biggest mistake of my trip thus far.

Yelp
Ordered the seafood paella and it was horrible. It was way too salty, and this is coming from a person that loves salty food. Worst of all, it had two pieces of shrimp and one was clearly not fresh; it's gone bad before cooking (posting a pic of this). I've eaten tons of shrimp, crawfish, and lobsters of all kinds and I can tell easily. I had to spend time arguing with three different staff members before taking the plate off my bill. I know damn well they knew it was a bad shrimp, but they argued anyway. They live next to the ocean!!

Yelp
We went to Casa Lola for a late night bite. The design is bright and clearly pitched to 20something women out on the town. The drinks are as well. Once we sat down it took the waitperson about 5 minutes to even notice that we were there (the resto wasn't crowded). We asked for menus. Once she gave them to us she disappeared. During the following 15 minutes she proceeded to take food and drink orders from multiple parties that had arrived after we had. We simply got up and left. There are lots and lots of good to great restaurants in Barcelona. Don't waste your time or money here.

Yelp
Sort of unfortunate circumstances - busy night (Viernes Santo), short staffed and seated on the upper floor with a spiral staircase, but the service was so bad that 3 couples in the room left without paying. Our party of 8, with 4 hungry kids, were troopers, but we still left after 2 hours without being served 4 of our entrees. Food was ok but the clear lack of planning on the part of the manager was a big mistake. Like other reviewers said, there are lots of better choices.

Yelp
Typical tourist trap. Decent, but no attention to detail and still quite pricey for small dishes. Went there on a Sunday, quite a slow night - but not as slow as the service. 3 out of 6 orders got mixed up, the wine was served with cork in it (twice) and the asparagus was seriously burnt. Got some dessert for free after complaining. Not at all worth it; check out Catalana Indú or La Flauta a few blocks away instead (but you might have to wait for a table there...).

Yelp
Worst meal we had in Europe. Service was horrible - they forgot part of our order and there were multiple long delays to serve food. It took two hours to get basic tapas. I can excuse bad service, but the tapas were pretty bad. The chicken paella was just sad. It was undercooked verging on crunchy rice with little flavor. We were seated quickly but I wish we had just left after the first round. You can find much better in Barcelona - keep looking.

Yelp
Incredible bad foods, bad service, they think they are smart to cheat you with 30 cl beer instead of 50cl and you have to accept this. Do not come here, tourist trap.

Yelp
Personal was very friendly! The Paellas was pretty good but the portions are way too small for this price.

Yelp
Visited Casa Lola for a bite to eat and some drinks. My server Cristobal was very friendly and helpful. He made sure we had a good experience. The sangria was a must have! Overall nice people and great ambience! Gracias Cristobal por todo!!!
