Not sure where to start- let me start with a good point- location- this hotel is perfect for its location- bang on the middle of Getsemani (the old town) with everything at the doorstep- easy to walk everywhere and lots of restaurants around. However, unfortunately any praise stops here! The rest of the hotel including accommodation and service are totally atrocious. |First to start with the decor, I read in other reviews that people are waxing lyrical about the decor- I blame the indulgent architect and interior designer for filling the place with bulky pieces of useless furniture. I appreciate that it is an old building and refurbished for its new use but what a ghastly transformation. First rule of space planning is if you have a small space, you don't fill it up with bulky pieces of useless furniture to make it look even smaller. |On the way to breakfast restaurant, there is a puzzling waterway which is not only a safety hazard but also narrows the access (there are two rooms at the back and whilst thankfully I was not staying in these rooms, I wondered as how to drag your luggage to the room). |The breakfast restaurant has split levels, only couple of steps, up and down which makes the job of waiters serving food even more challenging. |My shower room was frankly embarrassing- imagine a small cupboard in a kitchen turned to a shower with a curtain in front! the sink in the bathroom reminded me of a kitchen sink for washing dishes! If this hotel had been in Europe, it would have been shut as it completely ignores the disability act. |Add to that the supposedly fast wifi which cuts off for hours everyday without any warning, utterly terrible services and young untrained staff who prance about in their black long coats and their headphones. |One final piece de resistance- reception lobby- none existent in this hotel- it is a desk at the back of a living room, you need to negotiate your way and luggage through people eating, to get to the reception desk.|All together, stay in the area but not in this hotel.

Beautiful hotel! I prefer boutique hotels most times, and this was a great pick. Central location, beautiful decor, room and common spaces were clean, restaurant food was great, and staff were friendly and helpful. Only slight negative was that the water pressure in my room was very inconsistent. I usually had to wait to take my shower until it went back to normal pressure. Thankfully, being on vacation meant I was hardly ever in a rush. Just a bit annoying. Overall, would recommend this place to my friends and family.

Boutique hotel located in the old town area of Cartagena. The location is very convenient. The hotel has a unique concept and interiors that make it stand out. I had booked a loft room, which was not a very good option for myself. The shower had curtains from both sides, and it was separated from the washroom. The room overall was comfortable but the walls' color was dark (black). Breakfast was nice, and the staff were professional and very helpful throughout my stay. I did not get the chance to try the pool and rooftop bar. However, the pool was relatively small but the setting on the roof was nice and pleasant.

We stayed for 4 nights. Arrived at around midnight as that’s when our flight got in. We had wanted to take a shower and go to bed. The shower water was no more than a drip. We called down to the front and they said they would tell maintenance. An hour later and still no water, they were still working on it. We finally called it a night around 2 am and the water was still not fixed. It continued to be an issue into the next day which was frustrating. We weren’t offered any kind of compensation or even an apology in spite of not having running water in our room. The room itself was clean but some of the furnishings were a bit dated considering the 5 star rating. The bed was fine but again not what I would consider luxurious. The best feature of this hotel is the location. It is very well situated in the middle of Getsamani and walking everywhere was easy. Not sure that I would stay again though as the lack of water was incredibly inconvenient.

We loved every aspect of this hotel. It is charming, in a great location and best of all the service. The rooms are a bit small but it is boutique so to be expected. It has a nice (small) rooftop with two tiny pools but its cute. The "spa" is an open area but it feels very private at the same time. Ruben and Jose in particular were amazing as were the woman with good English!!

A perfect boutique hotel in the Gesemeni old town area. Unique decor in every room. Roof top pools were well maintained. Staff was amazing. Yaudis and Jaider are both perfect examples of professional hotel managers. Always a smile and never rushed. Short walk to the other parts of town through a beautiful city park full of monkeys and even a sloth or two. It’s a great way to escape!

The rooms could have been way cleaner. The sheets could have been better. No duvet. Doubted the hygiene of the restroom. The pool area sofas had some mold on them. This hotel used to be a 10/10 for me 7 years ago when i last visited. The hygiene quality definitely went down so did the interior of the rooms. Other than that the food on the other hand is from the best food i have had in Cartagena, definitely a 10/10

This hotel was a total surprise that surpassed all expectations. Lovely old colonial building in the Getsamani neighborhood right next to the walled city; a busy street and a haven inside. Gorgeously decorated, lovely rooftop dipping pool. Eating in the bar was as nice as the restaurant. Very attentive staff: Yaudi at the front desk was wonderful in helping us. Found it in a book and didn't know for sure if it was going to be good. Was great !
