Wonderful hotel. Great location in the heart of lively Getsemaní area - lots of great bars and restaurants close by and yet they still manage to create an oasis of calm and tranquility. The hotel has lots of character - interior decor is beautiful, thoughtful and creative. Great restaurant, delicious cocktails and great breakfast and the service from the entire team was outstanding from check-in to checkout - welcoming, friendly and very helpful - particularly the team serving breakfast, Cristian on the front desk who helped us book great tour to the Rosarios islands, and Jailer - and of course Harold who organised our airport transfer, checked us in and immediately made us feel welcome and week looked after - but the whole team were brilliant. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone - including those looking for an LGBT friendly place in Cartagena: We are a gay couple and, while there are plenty of LGBT friendly places to stay in the city, we felt positively and enthusiastically welcomed here. Thank you Casa Lola for making our stay in Cartagena so delightful!

We had such a lovely evening! The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, the food was absolutely delicious, and our waiter Sergio G. made the entire experience even more special. He was attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. His fantastic service truly elevated the night. Thank you for a wonderful dinner—we’ll definitely be coming back!

I stayed here for four days and absolutely the experience. The property itself is unique and eclectic—unlike any hotel I’ve stayed in before. It’s in a prime location, close to everything, and having a restaurant on-site was a huge plus. The food was delicious and convenient after long days of exploring.|What really stood out, though, was the amazing staff. Huge shoutout to Luis, Harold, Christian, and Jailer. From carrying my bags, helping with transportation, resolving taxi issues, to sharing thoughtful local recommendations—their kindness and attention to detail were unmatched. Highly recommend staying here if you're visiting Cartagena!

What a beautiful and lovely place!! We stayed here for our first 3 nights on our Colombia trip. Room was large and comfortable. Loved lounging at rooftop pool. Enjoyed delicious apps and drinks at restaurant and the complimentary breakfast was our favorite of entire trip. Service was amazing and we loved the decor and whole vibe of hotel. Also loved staying in Getsemani neighborhood, what a fun, funky and artistic place. We highly recommend!!!

When my wife and I vacation, we enjoy quiet spaces, good food, great service and no crowds. This hotel checks all of these boxes. Christian and Mauricio at the front desk greeted us with a smile and were very helpful throughout our stay. The rooftop pools became our favorite spot to hang out. They were clean and provided just enough relief from the heat. The rooftop, bar service by Johnathan and Sergio was the BEST! They were both attentive without being intrusive. In fact, we had the entire rooftop to ourselves, every day. You have to try the shrimp and white fish ceviche with passion fruit! This was the best thing we had to eat, out of everything we ate in Cartagena. The food at Casa Lola was fresh, hot and tasty. We had breakfast here twice and a burger one evening. Side note, don't believe the hype online about the upscale restaurants in Cartagena. We went to Cande based on reviews and could not have been more underwhelmed. The fried fish that everyone raves about is, BLAND and fried so hard, that you can't really enjoy it. We enjoyed Pascals for breakfast and Crepes & Waffles for dinner one night. Back to Casa Lola...Angelis (the hotel mgr) has trained her staff well. Room service was fast and accurate. Our room was small but functionable. The only issue with the room was a draping/tassel that hung from the ceiling mounted post over the bed. These look elegant in the pictures but, created an obstacle every time you needed to walk by them especially making your way to the restroom in the middle of the night. The only other "knock" on this hotel is they don't truly have a spa. It's an open space on the second floor that is only partitioned by curtains from people walking by to their rooms, outside noise (which we didn't mind so much) and the restaurant below on the first floor due to the open air design of the hotel. We did not know about this when we scheduled our massage but, decided to go with the flow anyway. It wasn't terrible but certainly not our typical spa atmosphere. The hotel did have music playing for the restaurant near the front entrance but it stopped at 10:30 p.m. nightly.

A Hidden Gem in Cartagena – Hotel Casa Lola From the moment I arrived at Hotel Casa Lola, I knew I had discovered something special. Tucked away in the heart of Cartagena, this boutique hotel is truly a hidden gem. The warm welcome from the bell boys set the tone for an incredible stay, and every detail—from the impeccable room service to the exquisite restaurant—was just perfect. The rooftop views are absolutely mesmerizing, with stunning pools that make it the perfect place to relax and soak in the beauty of the city. The rooms are beyond comfortable, beautifully designed, and filled with a scent that instantly soothes and transports you to a state of pure bliss. A special mention to Luis and Christian, who, along with the rest of the team, went above and beyond to make my stay unforgettable. Their hospitality, kindness, and attention to detail made all the difference. If you’re looking for an authentic and luxurious experience in Cartagena, Hotel Casa Lola is the place to be. I can’t wait to return!

Best part is the location. Central getsemani. I had higher expectations however for a 5 star hotel at this price point compared to other areas. First of all when we arrived we asked for some recommendations for things to do and they looked at us like we had two heads. They said they would look some things up and message us which never happened. The other issue we had was with the shower, there was no hot water maybe lukewarm at best. We told them and they said to keep it on for 5 minutes and then get back to us. We said it still didn’t work and nothing was done. The hotel itself is nice with eclectic entrance and rooftop pool. The room itself is slightly antiquated for what you’re paying. Multiple outlets are falling out, no hot water as previously mentioned, only 20 channels of Spanish cable on the tv and the wifi was quite slow. I do have to say the breakfast was excellent and I’d highly recommend it. Overall, would I stay here again? Probably not.
