"A seaside terrace, a rooftop infinity pool, the nearby beach—there are no shortage of excellent spots to watch the eclipse from Casa Lucila Hotel Boutique. Each room is unique, and many include Pacific Ocean views. Just a five-minute walk from Playa Olas Altas, this hotel is also centrally located within walking distance to Mazatlán’s historic quarter, art galleries, and bars for some post-eclipse tequila."

Nice little boutique hotel located close to the Old Town and right across from the Malcom. The staff was very friendly and the cleaning crew did a good job of making the bed and providing us towels each day. The restaurant is quite good. That's kind of where the positive stuff stops. For multiple days and multiple hours each day there was a jackhammer being used on property. Pretty much made it impossible to relax in your room or at the pool due to the noise. One morning they were setting up for a large crowd for lunch and started moving chairs and tables at sunrise - roughly 6:00 a.m. Some quick background -The rooms at the property are located around a central courtyard . When they were moving the furniture and hollering at each other, it certainly became impossible to sleep. They don't seem to have a lot of respect for the fact that they have people staying in the rooms. A couple of other things you should be aware of - they do have a pool but it's the size of a large jacuzzi with only six lounge chairs. There are no real good public spaces to sit and relax and the rooms pretty much have a bed and the necessaries. There's no where's good to sit in the rooms either. This is listed as a four-star property but I wouldn't give it anything more than three stars. Two tips - bring bed shoes with you because the floors have a pretty significant texture and or anything but clean and you definitely need ear plugs.

Beautiful boutique hotel with impeccable service. Staff goes above and beyond for guests. Room was immaculate and huge; large spa shower and whirlpool tub had excellent water pressure and plenty of hot water (always a plus in costal MX). Breakfasts and cocktails at the restaurant were amazing. Pool is small but very clean and pretty - works well for refreshing after a day of exploring. Amazing views everywhere from this hotel, which is in a great location, a few minutes walk from the Historic District Square. Highly recommend for couples, friends trip, and solo travelers.

We booked a table for our Breakfast Club meetup and were greeted with warm hospitality that made us feel right at home. We had a delightful breakfast at a fantastic location. The food was expertly cooked and absolutely delicious, offering a variety of options to suit everyone’s taste. The setting, with its stunning views of Olas Altas and the ocean, was simply ideal. I can't recommend this place highly enough!

We spent 4 nights and 5 days here and can’t wait to return. We loved being able to see the ocean from our room. The onsite restaurant has great food, drinks and coffee. The staff were very kind and helpful. The location is perfect. Olas Altos and Centro Historico are in walking distance. Great food and drink options in these areas. It was nice to not be in the hotel zone. We can’t wait to come back.

If it weren’t for the spectacular location, this would be a 2-star review. ||Check-in was fine and easy, except communication was a bit of an issue. I don’t speak much Spanish and they don’t speak much English. ||My biggest issue came from a lack of customer service and noise. They LITERALLY started construction above our room at 9:30p, wrapping up after 11:00p. No joke. I’m talking power tools, ladders being dragged, workers taking over the noise, etc. when I called the front there was not even a hint of an apology. ||Other random bits of annoyance include a bathroom that permanently smelled of sulfur, room service but no menu provided, all extras (massages, food, wine, etc) could not be charged to the room, a front desk attendant who was only nice to my husband, watery coffee, and then some. ||But the terrace? SPECTACULAR. The spacious room and bathroom? FANTASTIC. ||It’s a high-priced, boutique hotel on the malecon. They need to do better.

The experience had positives and negatives. It was in a great location close to bars and restaurants but that also made the nights sometimes noisy. Being on the Malacon was beautiful but also very noisy at night with locals and music from clubs. Staff were friendly but inexperienced and struggled with simple tasks that should be seen as basic. |One employee stood out for us and added to our positive experience. Alejandro had good recommendations and was always able to satisfy our needs. He was the only employee that was able to help us with requests. A very pleasant person all the time.

Yelp
I came to Mazatlan with my girlfriend. Despite being busy at home due to school and work, it meant the world to her if I joined her. So I made time to come to the beautiful state of Sinaloa with her. Initially, the stay here was fine. The place is an upscale boutique hotel. The place is clean, and they have nice offerings with room service. That first day, it seemed that this place was going to rival KTower. That is, until very early Sunday morning. Someone wearing one of their employee shirts tried sneaking into our room at 3:30 AM. When I confronted him, he claimed to be "checking the locks." When I brought it up with the front desk, they tried claiming that no one was at my door at 3:30 AM. Then they refused to let me see the camera footage. Luckily, I wore a body cam (hidden camera on a pen) when I confronted the perpetrator. That footage will go to the feds. I checked out of the hotel early, because by sheer coincidence, I was called back to Los Angeles early. When I asked the front desk staff about what can be done about a refund or a credit, they initially told me that I would be refunded the three nights that I wasn't going to stay, and only be charged the one night I did stay. When that turned out to be false, they gave me the runaround. Once I cornered them with their lies, they refused to refund me for the three nights that I wasn't there. Some may say that they get a pass on that one. But when you consider that one of their guys tried robbing my room, they get no leeway. Now that the right people are going to get involved, I certainly hope this hotel doesn't wrong any more fellow Americans. If you're a fellow American, and if you've been wronged by this place, please reach out to me. Beware: if you do decide to stay here, lock up your bags at night, and whenever you leave the room. Also, be sure that your reservation is able to be cancelled in case of emergencies.

Yelp
If I could give Casa Lucila 10 stars, I would. We stayed here on our recent trip to Mazatlan - and to be honest, it was by accident. We planned a last minute trip and all the resorts were sold out. Luckily after hunting online for boutique hotels, I came across this gem. Yes, everything does happen for a reason. This place is phenomenal. Everything from the check-in, service, food, rooms, view, rooftop pool and drinks were spot on. A family owned boutique hotel, Casa Lucila offers a small intimate vibe where you can zone out, relax and not have to deal with the tourist nonsense that you might experience in the Golden Zone. We took advantage of the rooftop small infinity pool on a daily basis and ordered lunch poolside everyday during our stay. The hotel is small, that most of the time you'll feel like you're the only guest staying there - which may seem weird at first, but honestly - it makes you forget about all your worries and helps you relax while your vacationing. I could write a novel about how awesome this place is, but the pictures and reviews speak for themselves. If you can fork up $200+ a night, it's beyond WORTH IT. And, I'd highly suggest drinking and eating here - the food at this place is 10x better than what you might find at local vendors or restaurants. Thank you Casa Lucila for a memorable trip to Mazatlan. Can't wait to refer EVERYONE to your hotel, and I can't WAIT to come back. =)

Yelp
Stopped in for "brunch" OMG this was so good. The food outstanding the service above outstanding. They were very attentive without being pushy. Not used to being able to have a 2 hour brunch without being push out. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Mazatlan

Yelp
LOVE this hotel! We stopped in for lunch and sat outside. The food was amazing and the staff was very friendly! Wine selection beat my expectations for a boutique hotel. The kitchen was a little slow, but it's worth the wait. Trust me! We are planning to come back for another visit to stay at the hotel.

Yelp
LOVE, LOVE! This petite hotel and all the concepts around it, got the feeling that I was in Europe instead of Mexico. The staff super welcome and friendly and also very helpful, we were received with a beverage on the house that was really good and escorted to our room. I totally liked how each suite has a name, the room very spacious, clean and they smell great, the bed was super comfortable and the bathroom was also spacious and very inviting to take a nice bath, where shower heads nice run of water, modern and chic, but what I felt in love the most was the products in it. They had a good size shampoo, conditioner, soap, body lotion, body wash, bath salts and soaps, that left your hair and skin nice and soft and smelling good, that's if you love honey, I was so indulge with the products that I took them home, cause I could not pass on enjoying for a little longer. I absolutely love that they had mini nespresso machines which is my favorite coffee and 2 complimentary waters. As I walked around they have a nice spa area and the terrace with the jacuzzi was simply inviting. The restaurant area was also very elegant and romantic. For sure will return to this place again for a romantic get away, it not so much family friendly exactly, but for couples, I have to say that is they place to be. Totally recommend it.

Yelp
Charming little gem of a boutique hotel in historic district, with engaged and helpful, friendly staff. Delightful features include roof top pool deck and full service restaurant, overlooks the sea. Highly recommended!!!

Yelp
I am in love with this place! My boyfriend planned a trip for us to visit Mexico and he booked this boutique hotel for our stay. From the second we checked in we were greeted with such kindness and received amazing customer service. The food is great and the bar drinks are yum! When we come back to Mazatlan I want to stay here again. Romantic with great customer service and gorgeous view. Oh and the infinity pool upstairs is the icing on the cake!

Yelp
We stayed here for 2 nights and lived it. Food was really good in the restaurant too. Wide variety of dishes. Great service from the bar too. Hotel is an 8 room boutique hotel with fantastic views of the ocean. We can not wait to go back.
