Casa Luz Hotel Plaza Catalunya, Sonder

Amazing stay! I often choose Sonder hotels and they have never disappointed me this location in Barcelona was no exception. The hotel is in a perfect location, with everything within easy reach. We arrived a bit earlier than the usual check-in time after an overnight flight and kindly asked if early check-in was possible. The staff said they would follow up via email, and they did – very promptly. We were allowed to check in early, which was such a relief after a long trip. The hotel itself was spotless, modern, and very comfortable. Everything felt clean and well taken care of. On top of that, the staff were incredibly kind and helpful throughout our stay. Highly recommended a fantastic hotel experience in a great part of the city!

If you are looking for a central, cozy place with quality service, then choose Casa Luz Hotel. With the best attention you can imagine, the reception staff was very friendly, but the one who most impacted our stay with his attention and personalized touch was Santa with his first-class service in the restaurant. It was my daughter's birthday and we usually shared a cake and sang happy birthday to her. This time, since we were out of the house, we weren't going to do it, but no, it wasn't like that. The day before the birthday, my daughter said to Santa: tomorrow is my birthday, and he replied, well, I have a surprise for you tomorrow. The next day when we arrived at the restaurant, Santa surprised us all, especially my little girl. She prepared a little surprise for her with cake, gifts, and balloons. My daughter talks to me about that moment every day and asks me when we are going back to Barcelona. Not only was there a surprise for my little girl, she also gave my children some gifts. Happy to have chosen Casa Luz for my stay in Barcelona.

Rita and Santa were amazing in the restaurant Casa Luz! Breakfast here everyday was really good and the quality of the coffee was amazing too. Great selection of fresh products and the hotel is very clean too. The rooms were cleaned everyday and it was perfect.

This was a very disappointing stay. The rooms are incredibly expensive, and very small and spartan in detail. We stayed in 4 different hotels across Spain on this trip. This is the only one that, instead of providing free bottles of water every day, instead charge you 4€. There isn't much to the rooms. The bathroom was fairly nice, but the bedroom was so small that it didn't even have room for the suitcases. The A/C barely functioned. But above all, the hotel as unbelievably noisy. It's right across from a plaza, that had a concert until 2am one night, and a Pride Parade until 1:30am the following night. I don't blame the hotel for events happening in the neighborhood, but I do blame them for not having windows that will cut down on the noise. They know it's a problem, because they won't provide bottles of water, but they do give you ear plugs. This hotel wants to be hip and cool, but it's mainly way overpriced, small, and not well equipped.

Excellent experience. The hotel was conveniently located, comfortable, and clean. The room was very spacious and bright. The entire staff was very attentive, especially Santa and Carla in the restaurant. They assisted us and helped us with everything. Santa makes delicious coffee and was always willing to help me with my children

Fantastastic service! We checked in late on. Saturday evening of a holiday weekend. One of my two pairs of pants had ripped on the plane. Genaro at the front desk helped us locate a local tailor that was still open, and a short walk away. He gave us directions, and even shared his phone number in case we needed a translator once we got there. Bravo! The rooftop restaurant was lovely. Great views, hip decor and music, very nice breakfast buffet. My companion also had dinner one night and said it was excellent (Sonder runs the breakfasts, a private restaurant runs the dinners.) Very prompt service when we requested extra items in our room through the app. Daily housekeeping service were provided. A nice surpise, as I didn’t have this at my last Sonder.! The location was perfect - a metro station literally across the street, and walkable to many great neighborhoods like Raval, Eixample, Gotic and Born. The shower in our room was amazing - excellent water pressure and hot water for days. What a pleasure after long days of sightseeing. Would definitely return and recommend.

Great Location and Hospitality! During my trip to Barcelona, I suffered a sudden and painful back injury that forced me to extend my stay for a week—and I am so grateful I chose this hotel. From the moment I checked in, Facundo and the team provided incredible support. They kindly helped arrange transport to my chiropractic clinic, made sure I had meals delivered to my room when I couldn't move well, and even checked in on me regularly with sincere warmth and concern. The room itself was peaceful, clean, and perfectly set up for rest and recovery, which made a huge difference in my healing process. Thanks to chiropractic care and the outstanding hospitality from the hotel staff, I was able to recover both physically and mentally during this difficult time. I can’t thank them enough. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a hotel in Barcelona—not only for its amenities and comfort but for the genuinely kind people behind it. By the way the restaurant on the 6th floor was true gem in Barcelona for breakfast and dinner. I strongly recommend you to try.

We absolutely loved this hotel! It was perfectly located in Barcelona. The room was lovely, comfortable, clean and had everything we needed. The terrace was incredible! The service was personal, attentive and friendly. We also loved the restaurant and their staff as well. Beautiful views of the city. Unique and fine cuisine. The breakfast was excellent as well. We will return and also be sure to book at the other Sonder hotels.
