Casa Maitri

We had a wonderful stay here. It is such a peaceful place. It gets pretty cold at night but we had a fireplace in our room so it was super cosy. The cooks were sick so the neighbour Ana cooked for us in her home and it was the most delicious homemade food we've had on this trip. We did a session of wim hof breathing with Gerardo followed by a temazcal and it was such a great experience. I highly recommend staying here! Gracias ☺️

Lovely casa surrounded by nature. You don't really know where garden ends and forests begin. The cabins are made from natural materials like clay and wood and we hade fireplace every evening. The most cozy accommodation! I would also like to lift the lovely food that is served for the guests. Organic and full of nutrients! No matter what your reason for visiting mountains of Oaxaca is, don't forget to reach out to Gerardo for a mushroom ceremony. An experience for life.

Casa Maitri is a magical place filled with love and positive energy. It's a wonderful place that can improve your spiritual, mental, and physical well-being. That's what happened to me. I was struggling with many issues, but after 12 days, I felt rejuvenated. The staff and Gerardo took great care of me, and the ceremonies were magical and fascinating. The accommodations are comfortable and cozy. The food was amazing. I highly recommend getting in touch with Gerardo.

Casa Maitri is an absolute gem — a hidden slice of paradise! I had the most beautiful time there, soaking in the stunning garden and mountain views by day, and winding down by the fire with fireflies dancing outside at night. The food is so good — hearty, nourishing, and utterly delicious. Every single staff member was warm, kind, and made me feel very welcome. The ceremonies are truly special, magical! Can’t recommend this place enough!

This has got to be one of the most beautiful places you can stay in the world. Blissfully peaceful and couldn’t be more comfortable. The town is lovely as well, everyone is so nice. Yoga studio free for use upstairs, with yoga classes available I think. Staff are very nice and Mari who runs it is very welcoming and helpful. On site traditional shamanic magic mushroom ceremonies ran by Gerardo who is very committed and really knows his stuff, I did one of these and I highly recommend it. Amazing cabin style rooms with log burning fires and cosy beds. And to top it all off a very cute and kind lady working in the kitchen cooking up absolutely delicious home style traditional Oaxacan dishes, breakfast and dinner, which you can order in advance, very reasonably priced. I couldn’t recommend staying here any more, absolute hidden gem.

We absolutely loved our stay at Casa Matri. The cabins are so beautiful, unique and cozy with their adobe fireplaces. The meals were so healthy and delicious - a lovely break from heavy vacation eating, with refreshing tea, mountain water and local veggies. The people were so incredibly kind. The Temazcal was AWESOME. Love this place and this little town so much.

I highly recommend Casa Maitri to anyone who comes to San Sebastian. The rooms and bathrooms are clean, and the service is very nice. A huge plus is the food that can be ordered on site. It is really delicious, everything I tried from their kitchen was fantastic, and the portions are very large. Additionally, during my stay I had a mushroom ceremony with Gerardo - I highly recommend it!
