My friend and I stayed in a standard cabina at Casa Marcellino for a week in February. The small 2-bedroom log cabin was enchanting. Everything was compact and efficient and absolutely spotless. It was like a dollhouse where everything fit into its own space with no room to spare (even in the well-equipped kitchen), except for the bathroom, which by comparison was quite large. There were immaculate screens on the door and windows (unnecessary during out stay as there were no mosquitoes). Even though each bedroom contained a double bed and a large closet, this cabina would be tight for 4 adults. There were an outdoor shower, sink and clothes line, and a porch with a small bench/table, a retractable awning and a lovely hammock. We would've liked an easy chair or some additional space to lounge. There was a small flat screen TV installed in 1 of the bedrooms; it worked well (as did the free wifi) but the only way to view it was by sitting on the bed. An extra bonus was the daily cleaning of our cabina. ||The compound is away from the active locations in the village, so it was quiet. It comprises 4 cabinas and the owners' villa; we were never bothered by "human" noise (the howler monkeys, the birds, the dogs and the rooster sounds were welcome) except on a few occasions when we heard children from the cabina nearest to us. The landscaping and gardens are fabulous and well maintained. ||It's a 4 min +/- walk to Playa Negra, a 12 min +/- walk to the village and a 20 min +/- walk to the Parque National. The best part of our stay might well have been the owners' hospitality and friendliness. I can't say enough good things about them! Thank you, Luciano and Marice!
