My husband and I loved our four night stay at Casa Mathilda! The staff is very nice, attentive, and go above and beyond to ensure you have everything you need for your stay. They scheduled transportion from the airport when we arrived and transportation to the train when we left. There is coffee and tea 24/7 for free which is convenient too! The hotel also has a nice charm to it with character and Spanish tiles! Thanks for having us :)

Loved this place! A little hard to find from the street, but it is awesome! Staff is fantastic, so kind and accommodating. Rooms are clean and nice and hotel entryway is awesome. We felt safe in the hotel and in the area around it. We would absolutely stay here again!

We enjoyed our stay at Casa Mathilda. The location, room, breakfast, and staff were all great. The reason we couldn't give this hotel 5 stars is that it's not staffed outside of 8am to 5pm. It's located in an old building with a very old elevator. The decor is clean and simple.||Not having a 24/7 reception was an issue during our stay. We got SIM cards for Europe without phone numbers. We had been communicating with the hotel via WhatsApp but didn't realize their emergency number cannot be reached via WhatsApp. There were two instances when we tried contacting them via the emergency number outside of 8 to 5 to no avail. The first time was when we didn't have any hot water for showers. The second time was more urgent when we needed help before leaving for the airport. We almost missed our flight. It would have been much better at a hotel with a full-time reception.

We had a truly pleasant stay at Casa Mathilda. From the beginning, the host communicated with us prior to our arrival, which made check-in easy and stress-free. The staff were consistently friendly, helpful, and welcoming throughout our stay. Our room was exceptionally clean and was further inside the building, away from the breakfast area — this meant we weren’t disturbed by any early morning noise from cutlery or dishes, which we really appreciated. The room was just nice for our 2 huge cargo bagpack. The location is excellent in terms of accessibility. It’s close to several bus stops and within a lovely 20-minute walk to Plaça de Catalunya, making it easy to explore the city on foot or by public transport. The neighborhood itself is calm and peaceful, offering a quiet retreat after a day in the busy city. One of our favorite features was the beautiful common patio — a serene and charming space to relax and enjoy the atmosphere of the building with their complimentary coffee. Overall, Casa Mathilda offers a great combination of comfort, convenience, and character. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others visiting Barcelona.

Could not recommend enough! Incredibly friendly staff and a very clean, beautiful building. The neighborhood is relaxed and within easy walking distance to Gràcia. Without a doubt would stay here again.

Cute little hotel with a special elevator. Room was clean with high ceiling. Staffs were very kind and helpful, allowed us to checkin early. Can leave luggage in the lobby temporarily on the day of departure.

Absolutely best hotel we have been to in Barcelona. Staff (Patricia) is the friendliest and most helpful, breakfast is excellent and the rooms are very nice with enough space due to good layout. Location is right in the heart of the city. We will defintely come again.

Wow. In a city like Barcelona (which is beautiful and vibrant and full of things to offer) my favorite place to be was Casa Mathilda. I wept at the softness of the linen pillows; the ceramic tiles and wood floors were so grounding. The terrace was a precious and quiet spot to share a lowkey breakfast or dinner. I’m so excited to have my stay here as a chapter in my life story.
