Came here 5 days ago for a pit stop. The chips were my favorite chips I have ever had. I currently have braces to which I struggle with chips and the ones here just melt in your mouth. The queso and salsa is super yummy as well! Great staff, fast, supportive, and the tamales are yummy! Recommend to anyone looking for some good mexican!

It's amazing what little gems these small towns have. We stopped in here and were actually greeted and seated by the cutest little girl. The warm chips and salsa were a great start. The food was fresh and delicious and the service was fast and friendly. Prices were about average for this type of dining. We definitely recommend!

Leo was not friendly when I entered. Waiters were not friendly. Food was good. Had to ask for refills on drink and salsa.

The food here is ...simply amazing. And affordably priced. There is one young server (male) who is always very friendly. The female server (I don't know if more than 1) has never smiled. The middle aged gentleman (maybe he is owner) I saw smile for the first time this last time we were there. Always serious never friendly with customers. People love your food that's something to be proud of and smile about! The fajitas are simply amazing and the fajitas Alejandra are one of my faves. I have not had bad food here ever. I ordered the mini chimichangas platter a few days ago and wow. Perfection. Thank you for great food and a "fun" woman's bathroom always will return.

This place is amazing! The service is always on point. Food comes out quick and is very delicious. I live in St. Paul, this place is better than any of my local joints. This place is a cut above. You would not expect Mexican food this good in rural Wisconsin.

Google
All the food at Casa Mexicana was delicious, from starting out with warm chips, salsa and a margarita, to the entrees that came later. Portions are generous, and the staff is very attentive. The interior decor is super charming. I’ll definitely eat here again.

I woke up thinking about eating at Casa Mexicana. I know their prices have gone up, but they've gone up everywhere, and it's still not crazy expensive to eat at Casa. In a small town like Ladysmith, you don't have a ton of choices, so having a good restaurant is worth paying for. I know not everyone loves the building or the upkeep, but does it really change the food? No. It doesn't. The service was very good. Attentive staff and wonderful food. We had Golden Margheritas, and they were great. I had the Perillada, which has chicken, steak, pork, chorizo, and shrimp and veggies that you can eat on hot tortillas. My wife had the Fajitas Poblano, which came with the side of beans, cheese, rice, Pico de Gallo, lettuce, sour cream, and guacamole.

RATS Escape

Google
Food good enough but service was awful. Server/waiter was rude. He was also in a hurry even though there were only 2 dine-in customers. I’d never go back and would rather drive elsewhere even though I’m from Ladysmith.

Yelp
Really delicious food! Decent price for the portions. My husband and I got their bean dip as an extra appetizer to eat with our chips and I have to say it was the best bean dip I have ever had. They place a cheese sauce on top and it's delicious! Overall this place was pretty good I would definitely recommend it if you are in the area.

Yelp
Very fast and friendly service all the time. The food is fantastic and filling. Always need to take the rest home. Their poppers are the best as well.

Yelp
Great food, great place. We're in the Midwest for 2 weeks from the west coast and this was the hit of Mexican we needed. Mexican music and YouTube videos on TV and a great menu. Try the Tinga.

Yelp
We were just a little short of our destination but we're too hungry to make it so we used Yelp to locate someplace for lunch and Casa Mexicana got our attention! We hadn't had Mexican for quite a while so we were ready for this one. Their menu is pretty extensive so it might help to narrow your choices and save some time making selections! We placed our drink orders and continued to look through the menu. My wife choose a Grilled Shrimp dish that came with Rice and Grilled Vegetables and I found a more typical Mexican Combo dish that had an Enchilada and a Tamale that came with Rice and Beans. It wasn't too busy at just after normal lunch time so our order came out rather quickly. The Chips and Salsa was very good and controlled our hunger while we waited. Then the real food arrived! The Grilled Shrimp and Vegetables were very good but we both thought the Rice was saltier than we like. The Enchilada was good and along with the Tamale were pretty standard fare for Mexican restaurants. When we were done, we were both full and ready to complete our drive.

Yelp
Stayed here overnight for work and was looking for something decent, while keeping my expectations VERY low.. pleasantly surprised to find this place. Extensive menu with more than affordable prices. Ordered the Carne Asada and enjoyed it... good flavor, even though it was chewy, beans and veggies were fresh and good and served with hot tortillas as they should be! Chips and salsa were OK, but happy there was at least Tapatio at the table instead of Wisconsin's favorite hot sauce, Tabasco. Choices of margarita were regular and golden. Being a Cadillac guy, I ordered the golden - again, expecting very little - and while they were small and served in a funky cup, they were very good but maybe a little overpriced at $9 ea.. Overall.. I am happy, not hungry, and would come here again for sure...

Yelp
We were in town to visit family when we craved some Mexican and margaritas. Two of us are gluten intolerant, and one can't have dairy, so Mexican food typically has lots of options. We were so glad to find this happy oasis. The margarita flight was substantial with large samples of each flavor, and my golden margarita was excellent. The salsa was thick and yummy, not too hot. We shared a single order of fajitas and the shrimp ceviche. Portions were generous and I wolfed down the ceviche with the perfectly ripened avocado. Our companion enjoyed her enchiladas and we were all very full. I don't know when I'll be in the area again, but when I come back this place is on my list.

Yelp
Im visiting the area for work and I came here for lunch. The food is mediocre. The portions are small and the prices are high! The staff was not very friendly and seemed very unwelcoming. I was going to leave because it was just awkward but I was hungry and decided to stay. The service was slow even though there where only two other tables in the restaurant. It has a very old school Mexican restaurant feel on the inside. I also seen the cook wipe his face and he was not wearing gloves. Proceed with caution at your own risk!

Yelp
This has always been my favorite restaurant in Ladysmith, but thats no longer the case. I understand that prices have gone up everywhere and I'm fine with that, but portion sizes have shrunk noticeably the last 2 times I've eaten here - do one or the other, not both! In the past there has always been Mexican music playing quietly in the background, but tonight NewsMax was on the TV with the sound blaring in the background. When I go out to eat I want to relax and enjoy a nice meal, not listen to a bunch of political crap on the news! This is no longer a very enjoyable place to eat.

Yelp
Food is generally good. The owner is not a nice guy. I truly think he doesn't like white people. I'm always polite I always get take away and always tip accordingly. The staff is friendly. It just gets me and my wife upset because there is no reason to treat us this way. He should not be able to deal with customers, I have had no bad experiences with the staff.

Yelp
Probably the best Mexican food I have had outside of El Paso & Juarez. My quesadilla was so flavorful and yummy. We had the real sangria and it was very good.

Yelp
For a small town in Wisconsin, we were happy to just find a Mexican restaurant. The salsa and margaritas brought the rating up from 2 stars to 3 stars. The salsa is really good: freshly made with just enough heat. The margaritas were tasty, not bitter or overly sweet and we could taste the tequila. We both ordered veggie fajitas. The menu said it would have broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, tomatoes, onions, peppers and maybe others. The veggies were a huge disappointment. The veggie mix that we were served was 99% onions and peppers. I had 2 pieces of broccoli, 2 or 3 pieces of cauliflower, 2 slices of carrots, and a few tomatoes. My husband had a similar mix. The veggies that we received tasted OK, but I would NOT have ordered this had I known I'd be eating all onions and peppers. The refried beans were fine; the rice was OK as well. We also ordered guacamole on the side, to eat with our chips and salsa. It was definitely not fresh guacamole, made from avocados. It tasted like a store bought mix that had sour cream added to dilute it. So another disappointment. We'll most likely pass on this restaurant the next time that we're here, and will drive over to Rice Lake instead.

Yelp
Great food and wonderful service. Plenty of food for the price. You don't leave hungry.

Yelp
I begged the Rice Lake family to open this one for 3 years. When they did it was the best. The food and service was so nice. We were welcomed like family and the food was very good. I'm from Southern California and I know good Mexican food. New owners took over and it flourished for a while. It's a small town and good service and friendliness go a long way. The manager has been pretty unfriendly for the last two years. If you're female, pretty, thin, and young, you get optically groped by most of the male staff until you leave. If you're larger, and female, your food is literally tossed on your table edge, as if you have a condition that is catching. The food is still good, service is hit or miss, doesn't matter if you're a good tipper. My favorites are the Tinga, California burrito, and carnitas. The chili relleno is made with a bell pepper and not a poblano, so ask for the poblano one and they'll fix it right. If you want El Pastor, go to the one in Rice Lake.

Yelp
They started off right when they first opened, fresh food decent sized portion, since then there have been at least 3 family changes and the food has suffered, I've tried it again and again but the last take out we had totally sucked that's it for me, will travel next time we need Mexican food.

Yelp
Being from Texas, I know what "Mexican food" is supposed to taste like, and the beef skirt fajitas was definitely not what you'd called fajitas. This place is tiny! Would be great for some one that's never experienced authentic Mexican quinine. The salsa is Super mild. The rice and beans were the only thing they got right. The flour tortillas definitely weren't hand made, store bought for sure.. and it was like they were microwaved. The margaritas were decent, but got watered down real quick. I don't believe anything there was fresh and made to order. There was also a child, serving the hot plated food and seating guests. I probably wouldn't recommend

Yelp
Fresh flavors & huge portions, great prices, cute bright cheerful atmosphere. Drink specials, large menu options.

Yelp
This place is great. Last night I had three softshell tacos and a margarita. Everything was great. Today I had a single soft shelled taco and a chimichanga. I also had cheese sauce with my chips. The chips were warm and fresh I didn't care much for the salsa however. The service was fast and pleasant.

Yelp
Huge menu and the food is delicious TexMex with some authentic Mexican dishes too. It appeared to be family run. We have eaten there several times and the has always been good.

Yelp
I'm a long time fan and stop by for the awesome food. Keep up the good work. Last visit could use a little better service. Consider a better dress code for employees.

Yelp
There are a lot of 3 star reviews. This place doesn't deserve that, it's a solid 4 stars for sure. It's not some of the Mexican restaurants that I have been to in California but it solid. The food was hot and quick for a table of 7 and the service was excellent. We are from out of town and are glad we stopped.

Yelp
Casa Mexicana is a superb Mexican restaurant. They have an extensive menu and even catered to my vegan preference. Our waitress was attentive and provided excellent service. My partner and I were traveling through and delighted to find this restaurant tucked away on a side street in Ladysmith. They provided distanced dining during COVID, and I would go there again in a flash. Plus, the interior design is colorful with lots of ambiance, giving a feeling that you're in Mexico. I've been to Mexican restaurants all over the country, and I rate this one on top. Don't miss it when you're in Ladysmith. It's a winner!

Yelp
This is probably my favorite restaurant in my hometown. Ever since they came in, they have been serving out fresh, flavorful food, and they are ALWAYS busy! The chips and salsa to start. With them being a staple to most Mexican restaurants, I would have to comment and say that salsa surpasses most other Mexican/Tex-Mex restaurants I've been in. It has a little bit of a kick, but nothing that's going to scorch your palette. The service is friendly, fast, and attentive, everything you could want! The entrees! Oh yes, the delicious entrees. I always go with a burrito california. It's about as big as your forearm, packed with flavor, and smothered in this borderline-godlike queso sauce. For $12.99, you really can't go wrong. If you finish it, you're going to need a nap immediately afterwards to process. If not, it makes for delicious leftovers!! All the entrees are good. I've never had something here that wasn't scrumptious. You really cannot go wrong. The desserts are good too. Granted, most times I eat here I never have the capacity to even think about dessert, lest eat it as well. The flan is great though. It's a little on the ugly side for presentation, but the flavors are well worth it. Also: GREAT MARGARITAS! :)

Yelp
Delish food and quick service! We got To-Go food for 6 people and they got every detail correct! The only thing is they gave us only one small container of salsa with 2 bags of chips when we ordered 2 queso dips and 1 guac. I did ask for another and they happily obliged with no additional charge.

Yelp
As I sit here finishing my cerveza I felt this place was too good to not comment on. Let's start with the chips and salsa. The salsa is excellent. A pefect balance of flavors and just enough heat to not scare off the common Midwestern. The chips were warm and fresh with just enough salt. I had the enchiladas tapatias, the rice and beans were ok. The Verde or green chili sauce was amazing. Great flavor and a touch of cilantro. The chicken was spiced well and flavorful. Resturant is clean, small, and poor taste of Mexican rap for music. The beer was cold, the service was incredibly fast, and the staff was friendly. Pricing was very fair. This place is a diamond in the rough. If you're passing through its worth the stop. Defiantly worthy of a 5 start review.

Yelp
Waited 30 minute to get a water and I only got it because I ask the guy again. Horrible customer service!!!

Yelp
Been here many times over the years and the food has never disappointed! Don't skip the California burrito. The decor and employees are allot of fun. For such a small town this is an amazing place. Glad it is here.

Yelp
What a fantastic surprise in Ladysmith-and it's been here, under different ownership, for 9 years! Excellent service and hospitality, delicious Enchiladas Rancheros and Chalupa - can't wait to come back! Gracias --

Yelp
We've eaten here twice while staying in Ladysmith. I was very surprised to find such a great Mexican restaurant in this small town. Both times we've been impressed with the food. Definitely will be eating here the next time we are in town. It was a little odd that the restaurant shares a building with NAPA Auto parts, but it really is a great little place to eat.

Doug M.

Yelp
Great food, good service, fun atmosphere. Stopped on our way across the state on hwy 8 - exceeded our expectations!

Yelp
I've gone here for many years, my last visit a few weeks ago will be MY LAST. Ordered the lunch special @$7.99 only two people were in the restaurant just before the lunch rush. Service was POOR, food quality was dismal. VERY disappointed in the experience. The chips were cold, Ordered a chimmichanga which tasted like it was days old. AND was refried for my order. It took forever to get a drink refill, wait staff practically ignored me for my whole visit. The wait' staff never came back to check on my food order or to see how my dining experience was. To add insult to injury the $7.99 meal cost me OVER $16.00 (not including a tip) They charged me $2.99 for a half cup of white queso cheese for the chips, RIP~OFF ! THEY ALSO CHARGE an extra .99 cents for a refill of crappy cold tortilla chips. The food served was at best ,VERY POOR QUALITY. The service was pitiful. VERY SAD ,this used to be a good place to eat. I've had better from the frozen food case at the grocery store. Sadly I withheld tipping for crappy expensive food and BAD service. I won't spend my hard earned $$ there again.

Kevin D.

Yelp
Very speedy and great service food was excellent and affordable and large portions great place to eat!

Yelp
Some of the best Mexican I've ever had. Surprising for small town Wisconsin.
