Great value for money! Top quality accommodation, service and breakfast. Walking distance from ferry terminal, main square, and plenty of dining options. Staff is very accommodating and gentle. Blackout curtains are awesome, although inner noise does come through room doors (avoid top-floor non-sea view rooms 🙊). Sea view is somehow covered by always-on cruise ships, but overall, the sea view rooms are a fantastic option. It was my second stay here, and I would definitely stay again.

I stayed here while on a scuba diving trip. It was a great choice for this purpose. Very reasonable price, excellent breakfast, and a great location close to the pier and countless restaurants. Vicente was my man. He quickly learned my favorite drink and had it ready when I came to the hotel bar. The rest of the staff were friendly and helpful as well. I would not stay here if I came for pure R&R. The rooms are far from soundproof. You can easily hear people in the hallways, breakfast makes quite a bit of noise, etc. The pool is nice but it’s rather small.

Once again my wife and I travelled to Cozumel and stayed at Casa Mexicana. This was our fifth stay at the hotel and ten years since our last visit. One constant is the quality and value for your money. The rooms are very spacious, all have balconies and a mini fridge in each. Daily maid service provided fresh towels as needed and they kept the rooms spotless. The hotel is downtown on the waterfront which makes for easy walking throughout the area. Beat the cruise ship crowd and walk one block inland and discover shops and restaurants ranging from mom and pops to fine dining. There is a major grocery store a couple blocks south where you can stock up on food and drink. There is someone constantly cleaning the inside of the hotel, the floors were spotless. The desk staff were excellent and very helpful. The breakfast buffet included prepared foods or order eggs, waffles or pancakes cooked to order. Lots of fresh cut fruit to chose from. The service staff took care of your needs and the coffee was fresh. Vincente is head of the staff and was there during our last trip. His second in command is Sintha (Cynthia) who was wonderful to chat with.

Google
Stayed 20 days, our room had a “City” view, see pics, Staff is great, So very kind, and eager to please. Rooms are ok infrastructure is old as we had water leaking from our shower light😳when room above used their shower. Alerted front desk and had no more issues. Housekeeping works extremely hard and kept our room in great shape. Hallways are full of echos of slamming doors and people talking, carts or luggage clicking on the grouted floor tiles. Which make is hard to sleep through. Pool is great, always lot of action on the malicon

We love staying at Casa Mexicana when scuba diving in Cozumel. The location feels safe and we can walk to most of the wonderful restaurants in town. The rooms are clean and perfectly acceptable but not luxurious. They are plenty good enough for us to stay here every time we come to Cozumel. The breakfasts are tasty, and I really like an omelette every day. Sinthia in the breakfast room is a sweetheart. All the staff are very friendly.

We stayed for two weeks and really enjoyed the hotel. The breakfast was wonderful and the staff was great. Enjoyed the sun deck watching the cruise ships. Very convenient to all the restaurants and bars. If you are in Cozumel for the Carnival, it is a perfect place to watch the parade.

Yelp
Spacious rooms, reasonably priced. Free breakfast decent. 7-11 downstairs. Pier across street for scuba pickup. No beach. Small pool.

Yelp
I have stayed at Casa Mexicana several times a year since Suites Bahia had shut down (4-5yrs ago?)...It is a very nice hotel, convenient to all of Centro. The staff is amazingly friendly and very helpful. However, in the 5 plus weeks I have been here the escalator has not worked three times having to drag your bags up and down the long stairs. I had made a request to the manager to have a person at the escalator at all times when not working for customers and handicap folks to help with their bags but she has not done so. Today is the 3rd time and the 4th day the escalator has not worked and still no one to help. It is now apparent to me that management does not care about its customers. Any professional manager would never allow such a costumer inconvenience to occur. I do want to give recognition to the cleaning ladies cleaning the rooms (very professional) and the other professional people who work there, Sinthia, Mary, Monica, seidy, Nancy, Elisabeth, Vincente, Graciela, I will be back and will hope something changes. Otherwise, I ill be looking for an alternate place to stay.

Yelp
My hubby and I just spent a week at Casa Mexicana and we were overall very happy with our stay. We were in town for a scuba diving, so some of my review is skewed towards dive friendliness of the hotel... The staff is all very friendly and helpful. We were greeted upon check in with a tasty beverage. Our bags were brought up to our room for us. The employees are kind and helpful. The lobby is very pretty with a pool that overlooks the ocean. There are bikes you can borrow to head into town. The location is great, and easily walkable to the downtown square and lots of restaurants. We dove with a highly rated dive operator that's located less than a block away, so our pickup location was across the street which was SO convenient. There is an included breakfast buffet. While this is convenient if diving, the buffet opens at 7am, and our dive boat pickup is 7:30. While this seems like plenty of time given that you just have to walk across the street to the boat, this is not a serve-yourself buffet (at least post-COVID). There are a couple of staff that serve the food. At 6:58am, there is already a line of divers at the buffet. If you're having anything prepared fresh (eggs or pancakes), you have to be one of the first ~5 people in line in order to get your food made, eat, and get to the boat. I wish the buffet opened a bit earlier to accommodate the number of divers who stay here. If you're not diving, this is not an issue at all. The food itself was just okay. I was expecting a lot more from it given the previous reviews. There is so much fantastic food on the island, but the food here was just a little underwhelming. The hotel rooms are large and cozy, and the beds comfortable. The AC works well in the rooms, which is a must during the summers here! There is a desk area with 2 interior chairs, and a little patio area for each room with 2 exterior chairs. Next time I'll ask for additional exterior chairs, as that is the only place to really hang dry your scuba attire. We often had both chairs covered in swim suits/rash guards/etc as well as the shower curtain rod, hand towel rack (and were were only 2 divers in the room). We really liked the soap, shampoo, and conditioner that the hotel provided. They all smelled nice. There was always coffee downstairs in the morning, and fruit infused cold water in the afternoons which was nice to come back to. I know this is not a "dive hotel", hence only losing 1 star for all of my negatives, as I know they are all specific for the purpose of my trip, but given how many people stay here to dive given the proximity to the dock of one of the main dive operators, I just wish there were some more dive friendly updates. Regardless of this, I would gladly stay here again, even for a dive trip, and strongly recommend this hotel. Oh, and the price per night here is fantastic!

Yelp
During our short time in Cozumel, we stayed at Casa Mexicana. Location wise, it was very convenient and walkable to everything - restaurants, the Mega Supermarket, and many meet up spots for excursions. Every morning, there was a delicious spread of complimentary breakfast buffet, consisting of freshly made omelets and eggs prepared the way you like, waffles, french toast, freshly cut fruits, yogurt, sausage, roasted potatoes, juices, coffee, etc. Everything was delicious. The quality and execution of breakfast was great too. Food was laid out behind a glass counter, and you just let the staff know what you wanted, and they would grab/make it for you. All the staff members wore masks and abided by COVID guidelines. Our room was immaculate. The bed was firm but comfortable. The water in the bathtub did not pool. Customer service was great. Everything we asked for, we got it. There are some noises around 6am every morning, but nothing you can't tune out. We really enjoyed our stay at Casa Mexicana.

Yelp
Casa Mexicana has become my husband and I's go to hotel in Cozumel. It's located near downtown San Miguel and is walkable to many restaurants, bars, shops and the beach. The breakfast buffet that's included with your stay is very good and has a lot of options. My husband loves their made to order omelettes. The hotel has a small bar and pool. The hotel is no frills but it's clean and close to town. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Beware of booking a room overlooking the courtyard/breakfast area. It can be quite loud in the morning during breakfast hours.

Yelp
This is a life saver. On top of the cost of lodging of $78, the lobby is above ground level and so is the pool. It's a beautiful hidden gem all around. English speaking guest services. Free WiFi. We took a taxi here so I have no idea about parking. Mega is like the USA Walmart - you can get everything there. The ATMs dispense pesos. Be sure to put travel notification with your credit card company so they won't freeze it. Keep your passport on your person just in case you get stuck here. We were fortunate to be at the market village at the international embarking terminal. The management helped with everything. From letting us know what would happen next and he pretty much escorted us to Immigration to get us processed and pay the $33 per person fee. To the states, United and Southwest Airlines both fly. Thursday flights are 1/3 of what they would be on a Friday FYI. Cost of dining is very reasonable. Oh yeah and don't panic. Cell phones: we use the hotel free WiFi for calls and internet access. Keep it on airplane mode and turn on the WiFi. Or get an international plan for your cell phone service. There is a cell phone store at the Mega. Here's to making lemonade out of lemons.

Yelp
My favorite hotel in Cozumel. Clean rooms, beautiful lobby, gracious and helpful staff, and the breakfast buffet is delicious. It's a classy boutique hotel in the heart of the shopping district. Directly across the street from the harbor. Close to everything, safe, secure and upscale. Why go anywhere else? If you want access to a beach you'll need to walk or drive, but for a "home base" close to restaurants shopping etc, this is the place. Aside from the breakfast, no restaurant service on site, and the bar is small. I don't drink, and there are multiple restaurants within 100 yards so neither is an issue for me.

Cathy M.

Yelp
Great location to restaurants, shopping, night life. Several places have live music it was nice to be able to walk. Breakfast is provided daily. Food was delicious. The staff was helpful and friendly, especially Vicente . Vincent went above and beyond to make our stay more enjoyable. When ever we saw him in the hotel, he always had a warm greeting. We will definitely stay here again.

Yelp
I have stayed at Casa Mexicana three times and I haven't been disappointed. The property is meticulously clean and well-maintained. Great breakfast buffet too. My only suggestion for improvement would be asking them to please monitor the messages on their website. They encourage you to ask them questions and promised to get back with you. They never do. And since I never remember if they have hair dryers in the bathrooms, I always needlessly bring down a hairdryer. Much of the staff has been there for years. They are gracious and professional. The property is conveniently located and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

Yelp
This hotel was wonderful! We were looking into all inclusive but decided we wanted to stay in hotel. This hotel was a great price.. so we decided to try out. So glad we did. The location is prime.. pool is small but all we needed. The rooms are very clean..beds comfy.. Everyone very friendly and helpful. And then breakfast..wow! What a treat.. so much offerings .. hot items... person making omelets...fresh squeezed juices.. We would highly recommend this hotel.. and we will be back!

Yelp
5 out of 5 Let me start this review of Casa Mexicana by saying that this is the first hotel experience I have had in a long time that I am leaving with nothing to say negative. From the time I was greeted with a cool drink, to check in, having the specific room I requested, to check out, it was one positive experience after another. This team, and I wish I knew every name, works together to offer the best experience possible. I have stayed at what is considered as 5-star hotels that need to learn customer service and facility maintenance from Casa Mexicana. Again, I wish I had every name that I had contact with but, Carlos (new hire), Darwin, Graciela, and Anibal went above and beyond. Everything worked!!!! The room TV, the lights, the bathroom, (did I say the bathroom), the comfortable bed with many pillows, the clean room that was cleaned every day without asking unlike the US hotels, the towels, the water pressure, the elevators, the cool water ready in the lobby, the A/C (a must in Cozumel) all worked perfectly. You will have a great experience at Casa Mexicana. Thank you to everyone!!

Yelp
I'm just back from a vacation at Casa Mexicana Cozumel. It's the third time I have spent a week there, so that must say something. First, let me say the staff is exceptional! If you are a guest and you have any need or concern or desire or request they will go above and beyond. The rooms are large. The breakfast is fantastic. The pool and bar are very nice for a sunset. My only faults, the room service is no longer "in house". The spartan space can be noisy when my head hits the pillow, the breakfast service could partially open at an earlier time to acvomidate the 12 to 20 guests always there at 7am, awaiting something to eat and then run.

Yelp
An absolutely amazing experience! Everything is clean, everybody is nice, and it looks better then on pictures online. Close to the pier if you like Scuba diving. Right in the heart of Cozumel. Breakfast from 7am until 11am. Wonderful hotel, if we decide to go to Cozumel again, will definitely stay there again.

Michael T.

Yelp
Very clean, neat, and very helpful staff. Connected with dive shop Deep Exposures, everything was very smooth with check in and any questions answered! So convenient to main street areas, dive shop, restaurants, and Mega Store for staples. Actually had a pretty good view from one of the less expensive rooms. Would definitely recommend.

Casey D.

Yelp
Clean hotel, great location! The breakfast is delicious with waffles & eggs cooked to order plus tasty traditional Mexican breakfast. FYI there is no variety, so be prepared if you plan to stay several days! Independent concierge service was super helpful. Hotel service, not so much. We waited a couple hours after calling the front desk because they forgot to restock our toilet paper. My husband ended up having to go down to the stockroom himself to find some. Then the hotel overcharged us and said that they did not have the ability to refund the charges - that I had to open up a credit card dispute for it to be taken care of. But it is a prime spot for sunsets...still undecided if I would stay here again or not...

Anthony B.

Yelp
The service is outstanding! This is a beautiful hotel with amazing views of the water. The free breakfast was incredible! Nothing like "free breakfasts" that you find in the states. We even noticed a few families that weren't staying at the hotel that came in for breakfast. We didn't pay for a room with a view because we wanted to keep it cheap. We got lucky though, it seems that many of the rooms on one side of the hotel have at least a partial view of the water. The AC in the room is fantastic as well! Very cold! The location is great for in-town shopping and dining. We prefer non-tourist restaurants and after only a half a day we have been very pleased! Be sure to dine at "Otates" during the day. We also ate at "Los Sera's." It was PACKED at night with locals. It was easy to tell that the food was amazing. It was very hot at this restaurant though. Like many of the local dives it has an open concept, and the Pastor roasting on the giant flame throwing rotisseries added to the overall temperature. But it was a great experience! As far as the beaches go, short cab rides get you where you want to be. The location is great!

Yelp
This is the #1 hotel I would recommend to visitors and was lucky enough to stay here myself for a few days. To start, there's the breakfast. The breakfast here absolutely deserves it's own mention and is a major draw to the hotel itself. The massive buffet ranges from fruit and yogurt to standard pre-cooked items to baked goods to cooked-to-order. The cooked-to-order list highlights their specialities (huevos rancheros or estrellas) alongside an omelette bar, pancakes, waffles, and anything else your heart desires. Coffee is brought to your table, juices and horchata are available, and service is never without a smile. The breakfast alone makes Casa Mexicana worth visiting. If you are not staying at the hotel, I believe it is $12/person. Then there's the service. I was accidentally needy while there. We wanted an extra towel, to reserve a car for two days, to leave money at the desk to pay for said car, toothpaste, etc.. Service was always perfect. They even tolerated my attempt at Spanish, while they all speak English. The rooms are simple and clean with strong A/C. We didn't have a room with a view, but that was purely because we were going for cost efficiency. I wanted nothing more than what we had. As a bonus, there was a towel animal daily. Why are those things so cool? The location of Casa Mexicana wins me over. I prefer to be in town. You can easily go to the Mega (grocery store) if you need any goods, stop by an Oxxo (a 7-11 type store) for your bottled water/beers, eat locally, and watch the town squares come alive at night. Finally, there's the price. At $60/night for two double beds, the price can be beat in Cozumel but you will not get a better value.

Sharon R.

Yelp
We enjoyed our stay here. The location is fantastic if you enjoy staying downtown. The staff is excellent and the hotel is super clean. The pool and pool area are super small. However, It's a nice place to sit, have a drink and listen to the live music in the evening which was really nice. They have a very nice breakfast buffet but the coffee is always just luke warm. We had top end ocean balcony room which was great to sit out on but the patio furniture was terrible. The room was nice and big. We would stay here again.

Kent A.

Yelp
This moderate size hotel was just perfect for our weeklong stay in Cozumel. The staff was friendly, the room was clean and well kept, and it had everything we needed. Breakfast was included with our room and the food was interesting, perfectly prepared and abundant. The breakfast area was beautiful and well kept. The restaurant staff was attentive and helpful. Both my wife and I plan to book this hotel again next year.

A D.

Yelp
Located along the main road and in the middle of everything. Señor frogs. Hooters. Starbucks two blocks away. Breakfast buffet was included with our stay.

Dean M.

Yelp
Great hotel with the best free breakfast! Friendly staff clean and very accommodating I would definitely recommend this hotel

Mari D.

Yelp
Would stay here again. Very nice and clean. Friendly staff. Location is great, walking distance to restaurants, shopping, grocery store, view across the street of cruise ships. Internet works well in lobby and breakfast area. Breakfast was delicious, hot buffet, omelette bar, pastries, yogurts, cereals, fresh cut fruit, fresh squeezed juices and coffee. Nice area to lounge in lobby and enjoy the sea breeze. Our room was clean and AC cold, huge plus. Overall we enjoyed Casa Mexicana Cozumel.
