19 Best Tours in Rome

"Rome has a rich history of cinema, and while you could take any tour with any guide, there is nothing quite like seeing its cinematic history with Eleonora Baldwin, Cinecittà Studios veteran and granddaughter of famed director Vittorio de Sica, four-time Academy Award winner and father of Italian cinema. This tour is both Rome's history and Eleonora's story, and she is so passionate that it will make you want to spend all day with her, and all night watching films. There are only three requirements—a pair of comfy shoes, an empty stomach, and a reservation." - Erica Firpo, Maresa Manara

Would recommend the tourist traps over this place and I would give zero stars if I could. The female owner pretended to not understand English when I asked for the check and waved my wallet, could hear and UNDERSTAND her complaining to her husband in Italian saying that we didn’t order a lot of food so she decided to bring us a second bottle of water and opened it in front of us before plopping it on the table without a word. I did not ask for water or bread. They also raised the price of the fish that was on the menu, apparently fish is 5€ more on a Friday or if you look foreign. Food was mid, suckling pig so dense you could throw it knock someone out, pasta quite salty - presumably to get you to pay for water. My parents visiting Rome for the first time from Switzerland were horrified at both the food quality and the price gouging. And before you tell me I have the wrong restaurant - I have location stamped photos. It was in September last year and I’m still seething that’s how bad it was. Oh yeah, we also got begged on by some lady the owners saw and did nothing.

Very friendly! We’re Americans living in Italy and only know a little Italian and the waiter was very helpful and friendly. Food was phenomenal. Atmosphere was incredible. When we come back to Rome we will definitely be eating here again!

If you are planning to have an authentic Italian taste, this is the go-to place! I love how the pasta is cooked. Al dente! And the sauce really tasty and fresh. They have indoor and outdoor set up. Will definitely go back whenever i go to Rome.

The decor is basic but that adds to the charm. This neighbourhood osteria serves a wide menu and executes well. The veal Milanese was one of the better ones I sampled in Rome. The carbonara was full of the aroma of the cured ham and the freshest eggs.

Lovely friendly restaurant with relaxed service. Food good and portion size excellent. The ravioli in particular was excellent

Got the carbonara and the linguine allo scoglio. Absolutely delicious. The waiters were nice and it seems that people in the neighborhood frequent the spot as well - so definitely good food!

Google
Honest review. Food was great. No question about that. We were a group of 10 ppl. After they took our order they put bread on the table which was warm and good. We didn’t order it so we thought it was complimentary as other restaurants. They charged us $2 per person so $20 in total for the table. For 2 baskets of breads it was a price gauge. Remember we never asked for bread.

Yelp
Really disappointing meal, this was refereed to us by the hotel. The dishes didn't feel as fresh as we are used to, nor the waiter wasn't able to help us with any of our questions. We ended up ordering some wrong dishes due to the language issues. Just overall disappointing meal.

Yelp
Our family of 8 (6 adults and 2 children) dined at Casa Mia on a 3 day stop in Rome, which was our first stop in Europe. The staff members were so accommodating and friendly and made the experience one of the most memorable on our trip to Europe. The food was all made fresh from scratch and was delicious. We ordered antipasti's, salads, pastas, and pizzas and of course, Wine! Oh, the wine! The waiter said they had accidentally prepared an extra sausage pizza so he delivered it to our table and gave a friendly "enjoy!". The desserts were absolutely wonderful. The tiramisu, a dessert I don't ordinarily care for was filled with light, airy sponge cake and flavors of amaretto that were different than in the states. Maybe the have a house made amaretto that they use? We also had a coconut dessert that we enjoyed that was gelato inside of a coconut shell. It was so amazing the next night we skipped dessert at another restaurant to come back to Casa Mia for that shell of coconut goodness! At the end of the meal, a few tiny glasses appeared alongside a bottle of house made limionciello. What a nice way to end the evening after a long day and night of travel for our family:-) Gratzi¡¡ Casa Mia for giving our family one of our most memorable evenings in Italy! Ciao¡

Yelp
This place really surprised me! Casa Mia was recommended by someone working at our hotel because it was nearby. Although some of the yelp reviews were extremely harsh, me and my family decided to try it anyway. Coming to Italy for the first time, we wanted tasty, authentic, italian food. We didn't really know what to expect when we walked in at 8 on a Friday and only 2 tables were filled. Even though we found that a little odd, we decided to give it a try. Every dish was delicious!!! The pasta and sauces were amazing and the lasagna was to die for. Don't let the location and the ambiance fool you, this is a great place for good italian food.

Yelp
Spent three nights in Rome and ate here twice! Owners/Staff were great. Food was better. Local family atmosphere made us feel very welcomed.

Yelp
What is all the fuss? Not very impressed. Poor service. Food is meh. Charged for bread and service charge included on bill? Really?

Yelp
Great family-run restaurant off via salaria, next to the Beverly hills hotel. Great selection from pizza to Roman classics like ossobuco, coda and porchetta. Good selection of wines, reasonable price. Truly good! Thanks
