Absolutely outstanding. We stayed here on our honeymoon and it was our favorite hotel by a long way. The hotel itself is lovely and the rooms are spacious and grand, whichever one you choose, and the location is smack-bang in the middle of Copacabana and Ipanema. The views out over the favelas and toward the sea are like a postcard. Somebody below questioned Benjamin and Lydia's honesty but I have to say we couldn't have had a more polar-opposite experience. They were chatty, friendly and always on hand to help out with the couple of requests we had during our stay. Couldn't recommend Casa Mosquito enough.

This is the MOST DISGUSTING place and owner I have ever been in my whole Life. A TOTAL LIE!!!! Do not go!!! The owner say is a luxury hotel.. when the truth is that is DIRTY (Do not believe the pictures).. and the owner BENJAMIN is aggressive. He started yelling at me and my mom (55 years old) and I though he will push her from the stairs from his behaviour. ALSO he didn't want to do a refund for us.. he is charging 300 dollars.. there are beautiful places that cost the same!! I hope this comment help people to not have this horrible experience..

Yelp
This place is a total LIE. Is dirty, located in Copacabana in a Favella, dangerous, need to go up 100 stairs. Nothing luxurious, nobody to open the door. Like a horror movie. The owner Benjamin doesnt have ant respect. We hope this will help others to not make the same mistake we did and the bad experience.

Yelp
All you would expect from a five star hotel, but with a personalised, unmistakably French flourish. Separated from the bustle of General Osório square by the Morro do Pavão hill and sandwiched between a large private house and an orthodox church, Casa Mosquito might have an impressively ramshackled-favela view in the distance, but the calm of this corner of Ipanema is palpable once you ascend the staircase and emerge on the varanda of this French-run haven. Boutique is the order of the day, with bedrooms upstairs and enough space, nooks and patios to allow guests to feel like they have the house to themselves. And that's not including the private balconies off each of the rooms, two of which look out over Ipanema to the rolling Atlantic Ocean. Adding to the relaxed atmosphere, breakfast can be taken or not according to your morning whimsy, opening up the numerous café options nearby for the more adventurous. Lunch and dinner can be booked in advance and the chef will scoot off to the local market and prepare a unique menu with whatever is in season, and is eaten wherever the guests wish, although the large communal dining table is on hand if the weather makes their balcony or the patio less palatable. Wi-Fi is free, massages, transfers and guides are all on hand, room service is available from 10am-10pm and there is a boutique (of course) shop in the reception selling jewellery from local designers from Prazeres and Pavão favelas, t-shirts and magazines.
