An absolute gem of a find, shame it is not better known. This lovely museum is based in the old home of the artist and has many fabulous vibrant paintings to explore. The paintings vary significantly in style but some of our favourites were of the fishes, still life of flowers, the beaches and our definite favourite, 'February' which depicts the almond trees in blossom.
The young curator is a delight: extremely knowledgeable and friendly, full of passionate enthusiasm which is infectious. The curator was fluent in many languages. She made us most welcome and gave us some background information to better understand the geopolitical history of Mallorca and its language. She also gave us space to wander round freely at our own pace.
There is a beautiful cool calm courtyard where you can buy very reasonably priced drinks and a small giftshop area with some lovely postcards and prints. Also some toilets there too.
Don't miss this whilst you are in Pollenca, it is not far from the central square. (I think that there is also a separate gift shop which sells more items).
There is no charge for entrance and no wait to go in.
Thank you for a very pleasant, welcoming visit. Helen and Nigel
