The price for two nights here was very reasonable, so I was wondering what we would get for our money, and I was pleasantly surprised. Los Leones is a restored Baroque House, and is a sort of working museum, with explanatory panels in the entrance area. It is a really interesting building, with two courtyards, internal balconies and more. ||||Our "room" turned out to be a suite, with a kitchen area, a living area with dining table and chairs, decent-sized bedroom, and bathroom. Most of the fittings seemed to be quite old - although the bathroom fittings seemed to be up to date and all worked well - and the decor was a little worn in places, but it was clean and comfortable. The rooms looked into one of the central courtyards, so it was very quiet and peaceful, aside from a little noise from some of our neighbours in the hotel. The hotel is on a pedestrian street, so I suspect that even the rooms at the front will be quiet. ||||Since there was a washing-machine in the suite, we did some washing and took it up to the solarium on the roof, where we were pleasantly surprised to find a good-sized roof terrace with loungers - a lovely place to rest during the heat of the day! ||||We didn't see much of the staff, and they didn't speak much English so our Spanish was tested, but check-in and check-out was quick and easy, and cleaning of our room was good. ||||The hotel is in a great location, central to El Puerto, close to bodegas, the catamaran terminal for the ferry to Cadiz, and lots of restaurants in the area. The town market is one minutes walk away. We had breakfast each day in the small cafe immediately adjacent to the hotel (it may even be part of the hotel), which was very good. ||||We parked up our car on arrival until we left. The hotel offers a deal on a nearby car park in Calle Ganado: I drove into the first one we found, on the right a little way up the street, which was about 3 or 4 minutes walk to the hotel, but there is another, even closer, near the other end of the street, on the left! ||||We enjoyed our stay here and hope to return someday.
