Casa Palma

Just checked in. The deluxe suite is barely ok. Here for 3 night stay. No shampoo, hair dryer, soap or toiletries. No coffee maker. Asked for one and the manager delivered one with a moldy filter still with moldy coffee and mold covered water tank. WTF. Door to suite had no handle. Management had trouble finding the key. Will probably run out of paper towels and toilet paper. Yes, we can buy that stuff at the local Mercado but we shouldn’t have to staying for only a few days at a VRBO. So far very disappointed with unit and management.

When we booked this room, the website did not clearly state that there was a second building that was a block off of the beach. We felt that the website intentionally mislead us as as to the location of this room as we were lead to believe that that our buildings as a beach front building. We would not have booked this room had this been made clear. In terms of the room itself, the bathroom towel rack had been removed and not replaced, the toilet seat kept falling off ( I fixed that), the stove lighter was not working and we asked for a new one and they still hadn't brought one 2 days later, 3 of 6 light bulbs weren't working and when we mentioned this to the owner, he simply said that he would fix it after we left (?????), The TV remote didn't work, and we had arranged for a ride to the airport the day before, reminded them the morning off, and still they didn't show up on time and had to be called to come and get us. No apologies, simply didn't care.

It was kind of bittersweet saying goodbye to this place. Perfecto and Rose were amazing hosts and in the short week we were here felt like we were leaving family. The beachfront was combed and cleaned daily, the work they put into keeping this place nice is crazy. Anything we needed they took care of. When you say above an beyond, they did that without us asking. Thank you so much.

There are many places in Placencia that offer nice rooms and views but what sets Casa Palma apart are the on-site caretakers Rosella and Perfecto. They keep the premises in tip-top shape and practically anticipated your needs during your stay. I plan on staying here again.

Great location right on the beach, with very clean and modern apartment/ condo / bungalow. The WiFi network was problematic to log into and I was given the wrong password initially, otherwise I would have rated the Service 5 Star. I would wholeheartedly recommend staying here... and I myself will be coming back in a few months!

The positives - good value for the price. The place is kept clean. Good WiFi. Good size refrigerator in the room with a working freezer. Perfecto, the manager is helpful. The negatives - The pictures of the beach aren’t in front of the guesthouse. The guesthouse is on the road and is noisy. there is a second property (BTW the name of both places is casa Palma ) on the beach although the peasants from the guesthouse weren’t allowed to walk through the front property to the beach. || Unfortunately when I was there, the sea grass prevented any swimming about half the time. There is no “lounge”. There is a TV in the kitchen but using it is limited as it is right next to the rooms. 4 rooms have optional a/c for an additional $10 BZ a night. However, 3 rooms have no air conditioning and can be pretty hot.

Having a great time here staying January 31 through February 8 open the front door and your view is golden sand, swaying palm trees , palapa with hammocks and turquoise water nothing else but what more do you need. The unit was clean and exactly as advertised the caretaker is on site Perfecto and Rosella Will help you with whatever you need
