Casa Pando

Bed and breakfast with pool and beautiful garden. I don’t think it is walking distance to the central plaza, but close to the Laura Hartwig winery and Vina Bello restaurant. Beside a school and busy road so some noise in the room. Breakfast was excellent. They rent bikes. Room was basic but clean and beds comfortable. Could use some upkeep (tried to open a drawer and the pull came off in my hand; tried to blowdry my hair with the ancient machine attached to the wall and the handset pulled off). No heat which seems to be normal here so cold in the room in the morning.

This is a perfectly located, quiet bed and breakfast hotel to stay at in Santa Cruz. It has a lovely feel to it - a few rooms set around a beautiful garden and pool area. The rooms are comfortable, but not luxurious, and getting the correct shower temperature took some practice. It is like a home stay. Washing I had left hanging in the room was kindly hung out on the line outside to dry. Jose Maria and Mariela are perfect hosts - very friendly and welcoming and ready to offer advice and organise winery visits and lunch bookings. The breakfast is excellent - jams, juices and cakes made with garden produce plus eggs, bread, avocado, fresh fruit and coffee. It is very secure and parking is inside the garden area. Good WiFi. A great place to stay to visit the Santa Cruz wine area

The backyard is great, full of beautifull trees and a couple of pergolas. The swimming pool is quite good too. Breakfast is fantastic!. Location is not bad as well and the size of the rooms are good too. The only issues are regarding the bed and the pillow; pillow are too thick so the neck is very stiff after one night of sleep and the bed has some sort of material underneath the sheet tha made a horrible plastic noise everytime you move.

We had an amazing stay at Casa Pando. Mariela was an excelent host, making us feel welcome right away by giving us a great introduction to the area and places to visit. She also set up visits to wineries and restaurants for us. The rooms were clean and comfortable, breakfast was delicious, service was great and the service ladies were also very helpful and nice. We enjoyed the swimming pool, massages, and hot tub, together with a bottle of wine. This is really a great, chill place in Santa Cruz. Looking forward to going back!

After you’re greeted by Jose or Mariela, the first thing you notice is the property inside the walls which features a charming house surrounded by fruit trees and other greenery. There is a wonderful, decent sized swimming pool, which was most welcome after touring wineries during hot days. The included breakfast is good and ample including free fruits and juices, homemade baked goods, eggs and coffee.

Casa Pando is the perfect place to base your stay in the Colchagua region. The garden and pool are lovely. Rooms are small but comfortable. Breakfast was delicious, homemade and plentiful with juice freshly made from their home grown peaches. Best of all was the owner María José and his wife- they were a tremendous resource and provided great recommendations for wine tastings, restaurants and other not to miss sights, as well as assistance in booking anything you might want to do in the region. Highly recommend and would definitely stay here when we return to Colchagua!

Casa Pando provided the perfect home base for my husband and I while exploring the Santa Cruz wine country. The grounds are perfectly manicured and absolutely stunning. We received excellent hospitality, with hosts who provided us with a fantastic overview of our options in the area and arranged reservations at the best wineries and restaurants. The breakfast was delicious and served in a beautiful setting, and we even got to try some delicious wine made by the owners family. 10/10, highly recommend.

We stayed at Casa Pando during the Covid-19 outbreak in March 2020. Mariela and Jose were the best hosts! As most of the town was in lock down and the restaurants and cafes were mostly closed they were so generous in preparing breakfast, lunch and dinner for us during our stay. They shared their food and wine with us and we really enjoyed sharing meal times with them. They both speak excellent English so our lack of Spanish was not an issue. Although it was disappointing not to have been able to see Santa Cruz it was brilliant to spend time with Mariela and Jose. They even text us a few days later to see if we got home ok. We are very grateful for their kindness and generosity.||||The property itself is also great. The gardens are beautiful and there is a feeling of being in a calm oasis.||||I hope we get the chance to go back to Santa Cruz in the future. If we do, we will not stay anywhere else!
