The view from the rooftop is absolutely spectacular. I wish I’d taken more pictures, but it was there for a wedding cocktail party that was stunning. There are security guards when you come in the building and the artwork and architecture of the main lobby is a must see. The event we attended was very well done with a mariachi band, a taco vendor style dinner and bartenders and wait and waitress staff that were very intuitive and kept the drinks flowing. This was a wonderful event at this location and I hope some of the other people post the excellent pictures of what is a forever memory. Thank you!

Excellent - I will stay here whenever I go to Guadalajara again. You feel like in a different world long gone. The first floor deserves to be called a museum. Now imagine having breakfast in a museum‘s inner yard - fantastic, unique. The colonial style does not allow fully sealed windows so you can sometimes hear a little from the outside world, which is fine.

This is a beautiful hotel but I found it was in such a dodgy neighbourhood with not much on around. Lots of guests coming in for photoshoots which I found very odd and as if I couldn't really 'relax' on-site. Staff were lovely but theres no fridges or tea/coffee facilities. Breakfast is lovely and staff are attentive but they should consider opening up the rooftop as a bar or something. In my 4 days there I swear I was the only person that used that space and it felt like such a waste. Feels like a space better suited to retirees and maybe not younger folk

We booked a superior deluxe room but were given a standard one without any notice — I had to bring it up myself. The way the staff handled it wasn’t great. The bed was uncomfortable, the bathroom was small, and the overall stay didn’t meet expectations. The hotel centers around an event venue, and during our stay, the same song played loudly on repeat — not ideal when the doors are paper-thin. I wouldn’t recommend staying at Casa Pedro Loza at all, though it might work as an event space.

Casa Pedro Loza has been an absolute joy to stay at. The rooms and entire facility are beautiful, and I recommend any person that visits Guadalajara to stay at this hotel. The staff are extremely kind and helpful, when I had a little emergency they immediately aided me and made sure everything was ok. If you get the chance, stay here.

Photos don’t make it justice to this place. Every bedroom is beautiful, unique and comfortable! Employees are kind and friendly. Breakfast was abundant and delicious, most importantly our waitress was very professional and spoke perfectly English. Our experience staying here was amazing! We will definitely will be coming back. We highly recommend Casa Pedro Loza to anyone wanting a one of a kind experience in downtown Guadalajara close to the Cathedral. Every room has a name, the most beautiful room was Secret Garden (Jardín Secreto).

The hotel was classic and restored to its original elegance. Rooms are all unique in paint and decor. Our room was large and comfortable and the shower 🚿 worked well. The staff was friendly and helpful. Morning complimentary breakfast was as you’d expect, good not great. Parking is not included in our stay but it is close by $100 pesos day. Nice rooftop patio with views of the area and we enjoyed a bottle of wine 🍷 that we brought. Easy walk to the Guadalajara Cathedral and Plaza Liberación. Recommend.

Yelp
If you're ever in Guadalajara, Mexico and wanting a quaint, boutique MANSION to stay in, look no further as Casa Pedro Loza is what you're searching for. I had the pleasure of being an occupant in this mansion 9/2019. Since then, I haven't forgotten this place and lack international travel this 2020 -cause of darn COVID, so I decided to write a review and "travel" this way. I love to travel and get away, do you? This lovely mansion was built for the Archbishop of Guadalajara (Pedro Loza Y Pardave 1815-1898) in 1848. I slept one night in a upstairs bedroom that opened to view the main patio. I loved the main patio with the estrellas hanging above, adding to the magic and charm of the whole mansion. Décor was charming in my room and throughout. I remember the bed not being of a memory foam quality type of comfort -but would do, for one night. Back then, renovations were taking place on the open rooftop, but that didn't stop me or other guest from enjoying the stunning views of the city. Nice view of the Roman Catholic, Guadalajara Cathedral or also called Cathedral of Assumption of Our Lady from here. I didn't get to see the underground tunnel, as I hear, there is a "secret tunnel" leading to the Cathedral used by the Archbishop. Breakfast is included in my stay here. Service was nice and friendly. Took off a star for plumbing issues throughout the mansion, construction in some areas was a bit of an eye-sore and bed quality during my stay. I'd stay here again, if and when I'm Guadalajara, Mexico. Stay safe and healthy (mind, body and soul) Yelping in all parts of the world, out there :)

Yelp
On our first trip to Guadralajara, we book this boutique hotel for two nights. From the outside it did not do justice to this beautiful hotel. Once we stepped inside it is like stepping into a different world. We felt very welcome and they offer complementary breakfast. It's simple but the service made up for it We met the owner a very nice gentleman. While we doing our photoshoot he offers to open up his bridal suite room to show us. I saw it on instagram and facebook but seeing it in person is a woah! Will definately be back on our next trip!

Yelp
Well, the hotel is centered around of cool places to visit. Like the Cathedral, shops, and cafe's...perfect for people that love to take pictures. I fell in love with this hotel!!! The staff educated us on the history of this hotel and what part it took in the Guerra Cristera, (a War between the Church, and the Government of Mexico). We learned a lot from the staff at this wonderful hotel. The staff is Top Notch!!! We were taken care of by the staff without any issues...they provided superb service. No request was too much or out of the question. Oh, before I forget...the coffee lovers will love this place coffee! :) There's no need to seek any coffee shop with the awesome coffee they serve. I highly recommend the "Americano"!!! And the food, the food is good too...my wife, and I were impressed. We just didn't have the need to leave to eat dinner...or breakfast. I highly recommend this hotel to all of the couples that seek a romantic getaway. ;)

Yelp
Another wow moment this morning. First a thank you to Miguel Angel Minos. What a warm welcome!! A true ambassador of this hotel. He takes such pride in his work. Thinking we would just take a quick peek from outside, we were brought in to enjoy this beautiful treasure in the heart of Guadalajara. Each room is designed with love. This hotel has that special something that you will never get in a modern hotel. From the moment we stepped in we were treated with true hospitality as if we were family. This is a place where the genuine care and comfort of the guest is their highest priority. They provide the finest personal service and facility of the old world classic. At the end of our tour we got to meet the owner Diana Bon. You can see the passion in pride not only in the way she speaks but in her eyes is well. She is genuine and from the heart. We look forward to our next trip to stay in the secret garden room. It is a must see for everyone. If you like old work charm and sophistication look no farther. The breath taking views of 12 cathedrals from the roof is breath taking. Thank you! Thank you!! Thank you!!!

Yelp
Simple Amazing! We just had our wedding reception at Casa Pedro Loza. We live in Chicago, and spoke with Diana thru email the entire time. My husbands mother and sister checked out this pace for us and fell in love. Diana and the staff were excellent from the very start! She also speaks english- which helped me a lot. :) The decor, food, DJ all was outstanding. A fairytale come to life. We cant say enough good things about this place! Come for a night or have your next event here, you wont regret it!! Cheers+ Salud! Gracias again!!! xoxoxo

Yelp
Loved this hotel! It was absolutely beautiful, our room was so nice. The moment you step foot into the hotel it takes your breath away, each rooms are different & are so beautiful. It's a must stay when you visit GDL. The staff were very nice, they had good service. The food was very delish. I really recommend this hotel for anybody from a romantic getaway to just staying the weekend!
