Casa Rio Blanco Eco Friendly B&B

Lovely place for our first night in Costa Rica! Charming little place by the river, with a small but beautiful garden. We were delighted to see the red eyed tree frogs in the garden, and their eggs hanging from a leaf above the pond. The garden and the whole grounds are full of beautiful flowers and plants and the place has a feel of a piece of paradise. Our hostess was super nice, the view in the morning, when we discovered that our cabins are right on the cliff overlooking the river - stunning! Breakfast was excellent albeit somewhat on the smallish size. Highly recommended!

Wonderfully peaceful, authentic rustic eco lodge experience. |We arrived after a ‘car crises’ and enjoyed a really tasty dinner. Herbert hit the perfect balance of being friendly and helpful without being intrusive. |We loved the gondola through the canopy at the nearby Rainforest Experience and sitting and listening to the jungle sounds at night. |The gardens were lovely and the parrots and hummingbirds were lively and colourful.

Our family (husband & I and 2 girls) stayed here in April for one night. It was an absolute pleasure. It was our first night in Costa Rica with the kids and we could not have asked for a better experience. The host was fantastic, kind and friendly and cooked us a great dinner and breakfast. My girls loved the sweet dog. The grounds were lovely and fun to explore. The cabin was exactly what we expected, clean and comfortable - and waking up to the sound of the river and the birds was just lovely. I absolutely recommend a stay here. We were only there a night unfortunately, on our way from San Jose to Tortuguero, but we would absolutely visit again!

Nice place to stay. Clean place.|Ok to stay if that’s your only purpose.|If you have to travel further during your stay, you have to make your own arrangements.|Herbert is on his own and difficult to provide a lot.|Breakfast was the same for 3 days- omelette ( no pepper), 1:3 banana, 2-3 slices of pineapple and cantelope & papaya.|He offered to cook but didn’t want to take a risk if he didn’t even have pepper!|So, ok to stay if its on your way. Reaching this was difficult.|Place is nice with garden and a small falls and stream

We enjoyed our stay here. It was very peaceful. The sound from the river helped us get a good night’s rest. The host was very friendly and interesting to talk to. He fixed us a very delicious breakfast with eggs and fresh fruit. If I ever come back to Costa Rica I would love to stay here again.

We had a lovely stay here. Lisa and adam were wonderful hosts who were very helpful and accommodating. Excellent location outside of town with easy access by car to town and braulio carrillo national park.

Amazing place and unforgettable hospitality! The lodges are so surrounded by the jungle I guarantee you forget your worries and stress listening to the enchanting sounds of the jungle. Already on the first evening the amazing host Herbie spotted kinkajous for us to see! We liked this place so much we returned here after being a few nights elsewhere. The river next to the site is such an unique place to go for a morning dip if you dare :) Thanks for having us and a big hello from Finland!

Stayed here for 3 nights while around the area. Herbie is such a great chap; so laid back and knowledgeable! A very peaceful place to stay. Loved the wooden cabin we stayed in with a very comfortable bed. Herbie also stored our bags for us while we went off rafting - highly recommended!
