Food was okay, the paella negra were great, the lengua was a bit oily and salty and need to be blend with the mash potato. The steak was cooked medium rare but a little bit chewy and the tomato sauce overpower the taste of meat. The ambiance was cool and cozy, great place for romantic date, meetings and family celebrations.

Mostly good, except that it's a hit or miss affair - I was served food that looked steaming hot like freshly cooked but the ingredients is mixed with food that seemed out of the fridge because the inside part of the chicken is cold and raw. It is steaming because the hot sauce was simply mixed with the cold chicken. I sent it back for further cooking and it went OK the second time around but it should have been right the first time. Signs that there is sloppy work in the kitchen.

Sadly the paella was not available yet. I got the pasta, which was ok. The salad was ok too. The place is nice and the staff are friendly. Short walk from the museum, nice place to cool off.

A restaurant near Malacanang that serves Spanish food; good service and reasonable prices; a nice place to dine

Casa Roces is a rustic but romantic resto inside the Malacañang Complex. I love the fusion of nature because of surrounding trees and of history inside the the old ancentral house turn into a stylist restaurant. The price range is quite high but the attentiveness of the waiter and good ambiance makes up for the price of each meal.

The food is good but i think they need to reinvent the garden it adds to the ambiance of the place.

Yelp
Loved it!!! The lengua was superb. We also had the fish, pork and chicken. These were also delicious. The restaurant had mismatched chairs and tables. It is in an ancestral home across Malacañang Palace. They have a lovely entry way with bamboo and a fountain. It is very close to the Shrine of St. Michael Archangels. We had a wonderful lunch after mass with the extended family. Desserts were also good. We tried the chocolate cake and frozen lemon soufflé. YUM.

Yelp
We ordered dinuguan with puto. One order had 3 mini muffin size and hard rice cakes. The dinuguan was just ok.

Yelp
My traveler friends and I love ancestral houses - on destinations with ancestral houses, we really take time to see them. So it was a no-brainer for us to celebrate the birthday of one of us at Casa Roces. It definitely feels like an elegant ancestral house, especially the second floor, which we took an informal tour of too, through the help of the staff. The furniture and decor took us back in time. Later, I found out that the tables and chairs on the second floor are still used for meetings, one room of which is P-Noy's usual meeting room. The garden patio and the dining area of the restaurant are especially beautiful and romantic at night, when they are bathed in a soft yellow glow from the lights. I ordered the mushroom pasta, delicious and filling, with the serving just a little more than enough for one. The smoky and fresh flavor of the roasted tomato soup is also a winner. Being a pesca-vegetarian, I didn't get to taste the lengua, which is the restaurant's bestseller, and which friends attest to. We surprised the birthday celebrant with Casa Roces' best-selling chocolate caramel cake.

Yelp
I was with a friend when we visited the place. Casa Roces is just a few steps away from the office so we decided to experience what it has to offer. We just ordered the seafood paella (one of their specialties) and their signature chocolate drink. We were impressed with the quality of their food which may justify their pricy menu. Apart from the food, the ambience was very welcoming, staff was excellent and there was even a historical tour of the ancestral house. Over-all, it was a great dining experience.

Yelp
When I ask my friends where you could find a restaurant that serves great Filipino food, many would confirm Casa Roces. Situated opposite of the Malacanang Palace, it is not a restaurant I would probably visit since I do not go to that area. An opportunity came when I bought a coupon at Deal Grocer. Upon arrival at Casa Roces, a valet will take care of your car since parking is difficult to find. You will be led to the main gate which is a heavy wooden door and enter to the living room. The place is filled with old pictures of people. The feeling is like entering someone else's home. A receptionist then led us to the dining area. It has a comfortable and relaxing vibe that is perfect for family reunions or business meetings. For our coupon, we were first refreshed with a glass of Sangria Te, their own blend of red iced tea with some chopped fruits and served in a frozen glass. The drink has a sweet and fruity flavor. Next, we were served with a plateful of Fettucine with Blue Cheese and Mushrooms. The creamy dish has a hint of blue cheese taste but tends to fade away after each mouthful. The pasta was creamy yet light. For the main course, we had Pollo Iberico, a roasted half chicken cooked in herbs, garlic, and olive oil. The rich sauce was tasty and wet the somewhat-dry chicken. The breast part was the driest of all, we had to drown it in the sauce. For dessert, we shared a big slice of their Chocolate Cake, rich and not so sweet. Thinking it wouldn't be enough for us, I ordered an additional Laing Dip with Lavash. The laing has a good creamy and spicy flavor, but the Lavash (flat bread) was very hard, even already thin.

Yelp
Located in the Malacañang Palace Complex in Jose P Laurel St., the restaurant is in the old ancestral home of the Roces family. The Roces family used to be Manila's media family. Founders of the Tribune and Manila Times and done in by that evil dictator Ferdinand Marcos. But I digress. The food is a combination of Filipino Spanish ancestral cooking. The paella Mehrabi and the paella is simply divine. The roast chicken and the cochinillo with a mango salsa sauce or the traditional liver sauce is to die for. They have valet parking. The only drawback is that the service is sometimes slow. Valet parking is available.

Yelp
I have been searching for a good restaurant somewhere in the Manila area and came across Casa Roces. It used to be an ancestral home that was converted in to a restaurant. Located just outside the Malacañang Palace it was hard not to miss given its white façade. One afternoon I decided to drop by and try out the place since I was in the area. This is definitely a place if couples want to have their date from the usual areas like Makati or Fort. The vibe of the place is old school with vintage furniture and some memorabilia from the Roces family. We ordered their Bulalo Steak A La Pobre which was delicious and tender and the gravy not too salty. We had our Turon A La Mode as dessert. It was late in the afternoon so we were the only customers in the restaurant and we got the chance to take photos and go around the place all by ourselves.

Yelp
A few weeks back I had to pick-up my sister from a meeting in Casa Roces inside the Malcanang Compound. I arrived way too early so I decided to just get a table for myself and read my book while waiting. I had such a pleasant experience here, even if it was just to sit alone and drown in my book. I had just come from a lunch so I ordered myself some merienda, Turon ala Mode, and coffee. (I kinda wish I was hungrier because everything in the menu sounded good!). The turon was really yummy and it was such a great choice with the ice cream because it was super hot outside. I liked the ambiance of the restaurant a lot, sort of like I was just visiting someone's house. They have little nooks and corners too so it didn't feel like it was a big restaurant or that there were a lot of people. I'm definitely planning to come back soon (and make sure I'm hungry) so I can try out the rest of their food!

Yelp
Casa Roces used to be the ancestral home of the famous Chino Roces, then turned into a café / restaurant. Because of its proximity to our office and the Malacañang Palace, this restaurant has become the staple lunch meeting place when with foreign guests. Stepping inside Casa Roces makes you feel as if you're entering your grandmother's house, with a modern twist in furniture and amenities. The second floor provides areas for function rooms, and each function room named after a famous newspaper / tabloid of the Roces clan. The food is not bad either - a modern twist on Filipino favorites. Always start off with the Oyster Mushroom Frittura, but ordering only one serving is borderline bitin as an appetizer. Casa Roces has a variety of entrees to choose from, but I personally prefer the Pescado en Salsa Verde or the Bulalo Steak a la Pobre. The fish order is light and yet very tasty, which leaves a bit more room for dessert. The bulalo, on the other hand, is a heavier dish, but the extra calories and cholesterol are well worth the flavorful experience. To finish off the meal, we usually order Turon a la Mode or a slice of their Chocolate Caramel Cake. To complete the Casa Roces experience, they also offer a package that includes a tour of the Malacañang Palace; definitely a spot to bring guests from abroad for a taste of Filipino food and culture.
