We stayed because of "word of mouth" recommendation. We were more than satisfied. We stayed in the "suite" and added another night to our 2 night stay because we didn't want to leave. We did some exploration to the North on the beach to the visitors' center and beyond to the mouth of the river, walking back on the highway. Perfect. Don't hesitate to book. Tell Hank we said "hi"!

We called same day and luckily they had one vacancy available. Hank was very friendly and made the stay easy and enjoyable! We had a self check in as we arrived later in the day and was very easy. Amazing views and the space was very, very clean. Private Beach access with a short walk through their beautiful and well kept property! Picture is our view from the balcony! Will definitely be back if we’re in the area again! Thank you Hank!

What an amazing place! We stayed in the suite, and it's stunning! Big kitchen, very clean, awesome ocean view from the deck. The landscaping and garden area makes you feel like you're in a tropical paradise. Hank and Marlene truly make you feel welcome. Such amazing people. 10/10. Definitely coming back and recommending to all our freinds and family. If you're wondering, yes you're right on the ocean.

Last minute vacation, I called over to Casa Rubio early afternoon for any availability for the evening. They had an opening for the suite and my significant other and myself booked the room. We drove over from Medford with no idea what to expect due to last minute stay over in this area. Our arrival has been so pleasant, Hank and Marlene has been such a pleasure communicating with. The moment walking into the suite, the view of the ocean is incredible with the amount of space to enjoy our stay. Each room was very comfortable to be in, clean and simple. The balcony has a nice table for 4 to play cards while enjoying the view of the ocean. So many continued great things to say about our stay. This location has our jaw dropping how amazing everything has been. We will be back.!

While on my road trip, I gave Casa rubio a call and got a room last minute. Before they went home for the day, they gave me a call with a voicemail and instructions on the door to help me when I got there. I stayed in the suite and it was very clean and very nice, it had great views of the beach and the ability to walk down there and enjoy the sunset. We unfortunately did not get to see the dog coco, so I will have to come back at some point. There was even a snack basket for us with water in the kitchen. I would highly recommend staying here if you can.

A wonderful place where you can sit on the couch looking out at the ocean and sleep in a really comfy bed as you listen to the ocean waves. It is an easy drive 30 minutes to walk in the redwoods of Jedediah Smith State park. We stayed in the cabin which has a king and queen bed, well equipped kitchen, recliner, couch, and gas stove. At low tide you can walk miles of nice clean beach right out the door and explore sea life on interesting rock formations if you walk out the door to the left. When you arrive there is a basket with coffee, plenty of filters, plus 2 bakery cookies. We bought excellent fresh fish at Pacific Ocean Harvesters and cooked it here, then went out to the picnic table in the yard to eat. We will be back!

Beautiful and close ocean views and beach access. We had the absolute best stay here at Casa Rubio. There isn’t a unit of the four that doesn’t have a great ocean view. We stayed in the Suite and the deck outside the unit really makes the experience extra nice for coffee in the morning and a front row view of the ocean. This place is truly a hidden gem. I would have a hard time staying anywhere else in this area after visiting here. We found the unit to be clean and the grounds are breathtaking. There are all the things you would expect to find in the unit for cooking, and this was helpful. They have the coolest little overgrown canopy path to the beach and a sweet dog named Coco on site. Thanks Hank and Marlene for sharing this little piece of heaven with us! We hope to be back again.

This place truly causes instant relaxation. It’s like home—but OH so much better! Clean, comfy, quiet and you can hear and see the waves from all 4 suites. Each one has its own deck. It is very private feeling—a true oasis. Direct beach access is amazing. The only bad part is having to leave!

Yelp
Absolutely GORGEOUS! My husband and I came here as a random stop on our honeymoon while we traveled the coast. The owners were so incredibly kind and upgraded us to their suite to help us celebrate. The room was AMAZING! Great ocean views right through the windows and onto our own personal balcony. You can watch the sunset on the ocean right from the comfort of the living room or walk 1min to the sand. We couldn't have been happier with our stay. Thank you so much Casa Rubio!

Yelp
I cannot believe I'm not only the first person on Yelp to review this place, but also that I had to actually ADD the business. This is a special place. It's a MUST for any traveler up the NorCal/Oregon coast. There's a spiritual aspect to the place. Tony, the owner, has been there over 30 years. His deep sense of calm permeates everything. You are right on the water and two delightful animals are your only company - Chica the dog, and Cuca the cat. Or maybe it's the other way around. We stayed in the Nest. It was perfect for two! There were two darling little plates of coffee cake left for us. A big giant coffeemaker, and two little containers in the fridge, one of fresh oj, the the other of milk. The rooms were spotless. Folks have left little signed pieces of driftwood and rocks around the room. We did ours on a rock. You feel like you are on your own private beach and indeed you are. This little gem, hidden at the border of California and Oregon, is not to be missed. I'm so grateful I found this place. Thank you Tony for a wonderful, wonderful experience!

Yelp
My husband and I found this place by chance while searching for a place that accepted pets on our quick, spontaneous honeymoon. And it was perfect. The manager (owner?) is the sweetest person, and went above and beyond for us and our pups. The grounds are stunning and the ocean is in our backyard. We stayed in the smallest room, the Nest, and it was so cozy and perfect. They even provide complimentary food (including the best cookies I've ever had)! If you are coming to Brookings, or anywhere close, stay here because it is a little slice of heaven.

Yelp
Amazing place! Can't wait to go back. The staff was so nice and accommodating. Well kept cabins. Beautiful view and private. We were thrilled the second we pulled in the driveway. Hated to leave but hope to return soon! Totally worth the drive and price if you're questioning it.

Yelp
This get away is a gem! I was referred by a friend who lives locally and she gave me the best possible boutique hotel option for my coastal get away. The staff was delightful, the views were unprecedented, the grounds maintained to perfection. It felt like I was staying in my own private beach house- the privacy was unique for a hotel environment. It was my sisters birthday and it couldn't have been a more perfect choice. I enjoyed it so much I would consider buying a home in the area - and certainly coming back to Casa Rubio to stay while looking at property! The owner's dog Cocoa was delightful enough to hang out on my ocean view deck with me and my nephew to round out out experience. And when I forgot my yoga mat they were delightful to hold it for me, I had no doubts the personal touch would carry over even after check out. I love Casa Rubio, and we had two sunny days as if it could get more perfect! I enjoyed adding my personal rock with my name and date to the pile from previous pleased guests.

Yelp
We had a lovely time staying in the suite. Everything is kept up nicely and the views from this suite are truly panoramic. The kitchen is well supplied so we could cook delicious dinners with fresh seafood and watch the beautiful sunsets. The owners are absolutely delightful. We will be back.
