We had a wonderful time at terrazas. We did have trouble finding the location, and parking is a little tricky. The best thing to do is park wherever you can find a spot and walk. The town is small so it's not going to be a long walk no matter where you park. It's really close to the city square. The host was marvelous. We spoke very little Spanish and he spoke no English, yet it worked out. He was very friendly. The rooms were much better in person. The pictures just really don't show you how lovely this place is. We had a balcony with a gorgeous view and the rooms are really, really spacious. I shouldn't call it a balcony. It's a big space with a table. More like a terrace. The bathroom shower had superb water pressure, the best on our entire trip. If you are going to Madrid, this town is surely worth a visit and I wouldn't stay anywhere else but Terrazas. You will definitely enjoy it. My parents are staying there this fall. We had breakfast there as well. Fresh squeezed juice, coffee, tea, pastries and an assortment of breads, fruit and meat. I must add, the rooms were beautifully decorated as well and were very clean.

Without doubt one of the favorite places I have ever stayed. Elegant, cozy and the epitome of good taste combined: a true jewel. Upon arrival the warm welcome by the owner Miguel was amazing, he provided me with advise and help at the time, quite the friendly experience and he deserves a special thanks. Remarkable evenings to the terrace view and the great weather we enjoyed which added up to the experience. It was so hard to leave such beautiful and comfortable place!

We rented for 2 nights and wished we would have time to stay longer. Miguel and Memo were very welcoming and helpful. The place is inmaculate clean and tastefuly decorated, as Miguel is an antiques dealer and owns his own shop in town. The view from our room and the terrace was breathtaking. A great place to unwind and to escape the hussle and bussle of Madrid. Just a few blocks away you can catch a bus line called La Veloz #337, that runs frequently from Madrid to many other towns. This was very convenient. I highly recommend this place!

The room opened on to a spectacular view of the town... rooftops, valley, surrounding mountains, clean crisp air! The space was bright and had a great feel, very comfortable, spotless bathroom, storage area, and that private terrace!||||Miguel is an antiques dealer and he has this entire place decorated splendidly and tastefully. The lovely little breakfast room had all that we wanted, and Memo was more than ready to get us something we wanted... like green or herbal tea, hot water in the afternoon for some tea. Such intelligent, pleasant conversation from the inn keepers makes the stay even more special!||||Just a short three minute walk to the cute plaza where you will find gift shops with nice quality merchandise, restaurants aplenty, and if you choose to scale the main street toward the town itself (away from the plaza, that is) then you will find other restaurants more used by regulars as well. Just ask Miguel or Memo.||||Bus stops nearby if you use public transportation, probably a seven or eight minute walk, and a ticket is very cost-effective, If you drive in, there is parking here and there, not like in the larger Spanish cities; and you will have to either take your luggage to the inn on foot, or squeeze your vehicle down the narrow lane to unload, then drive back out to a parking spot along a street or in the plaza below.||||At any rate, I urge you to consider Terrazas a la plaza for a quiet, beautiful stay with pleasant and open inn keepers, and easy access to Chinchón and surroundings. We even ended up at a local pub for some bar-style churros con chocolate where the waiter who had taken care of us hours earlier at a local restaurant ended up telling us jokes and buying our churros for us!

The owner, Miguel, could not have been more helpful. Allowed us to change our booking to accommodate us in two of his three rooms with terraces. The terraces have wonderful views over the town - book those if you can. The rooms are cool and the air conditioning works well. The shower has a rainforest head with good pressure. When we got our tweezers stuck in a bottle of wine - he left us a corkscrew on the balcony and managed to retrieve the tweezers!||Breakfast is basic but Miguel squeezes large glasses of fresh orange juice.

Excellent, spacious and clean room with good bathroom, comfortable bed and large balcony with an amazing view. Staff were very friendly and room was cleaned daily. Very close to square with all of the shops, bars and restaurants but not noisy. Room had air conditioning and we were shown where to park our hire car. Would definitely stay again!

Terrazas a la Plaza is what is known as a "Casa Rural" in Spanish which roughly translates as an upmarket B&B in English. It's situated up a narrow, cobbled street some 150m from the beautiful town square. And when I say up, I mean those who prefer living life on the flat should probably look elsewhere. But once you manage to find the place it's well worth the trouble. ||||Our room had a door leading out to a large terrace (some may describe it as a small garden!) with table and chairs which overlooks the rooftops of Chinchón all the way down to the square below. Very romantic!||||Miguel, the friendly owner, is apparently an antiques dealer which explains why our small room was so tastefully furnished, albeit with largely reproduction antique furniture. Most importantly the large double bed was wonderfully comfortable, and the ensuite had an excellent power-shower.||||We chose not to have breakfast in-house, preferring instead to stroll down to the main square to enjoy coffee and churros in one of the many terrace bars.||||Overall, both Terrazas and Chinchón were a wonderful find which we will definitely return to again.

At the end of our two week long trip through the Iberian peninsula we wanted to stay outside of 'the city' and searched for a little town with some sparkle. Chinchon was perfect. Casa Rural Terrazas de la Plaza is an EXCELLENT last night in Spain type of place. Mucho romantico! The owner, Miguel is very nice. There is a slight language barrier but if you speak a little Spanish or Italian you will be fine. The casa is an old mansion decorated in a rustic style by the owner's sister & brother-in-law, both interior designers. There is no need to get breakfast since the main plaza is literally steps away and has PLENTY of great places to eat. (if you'd like a fancy meal, try Cafe de Iberia, you get to sit on a balcony overlooking all the action). ||||This Casa Rural is situated right above Plaza Mayor which doubles as Plaza del Toro. It is a round Plaza that has a sandy surface (one of the only ones in Spain) We happen to come during the town's fiesta... From August 12-18... We saw a parade and watched fireworks lighting up the castle from our terrace... Starting at midnight there was a party in the castle that lasted until dawn. But believe it or not, once we closed our terrace door, it was so quite. The AC worked well and it was a restful night. In the morning my boyfriend got to run with the bulls and we even got to see some bull action FOR FREE in the Plaza with the rest of the townspeople. GREAT PLACE!||||***The view is INCREDIBLE. What a night... Watching the sun and moon set from our terrace that measured over 100 sq. ft. Simply Magical!!! ||||The Casa Rural Terrazas de la Plaza is a little tricky to find. Make sure to print out a little map before you get there. The street it is on ends in a stairway so park either on the Main Street that wraps around town or a couple of streets up from La Cerca and walk down. We found parking on a side street with no problem. The side street was a bit wider, if you're daring you can always park on the little sidewalk/ curve. During fiesta many streets are closed but it wasn't too bad. The view in this little place is so worth it. The airport is also about an hour away. Follow signs for A-3 or A-4 to Madrid and you should be fine. Five stars indeed!!!
