Casa San Roque Valladolid

We had a very nice stay with our family, 2 children 1 & 3 years old. The rooms are spacious and the beds are big. The hotel has a nice garden with a nice swimming pool. Big enough to cool off in. The location of the hotel is very central. The staff is nice and helpful. The only point for improvement is the breakfast. That is a bit meager. All in all a big recommendation.

Check in was very easy and allowed for early luggage drop off. Beds were comfortable, A/C was cold, room had mini fridges, breakfast was tasty and filling. I loved that they ask for an egg scramble preference daily and if you want your room serviced by housekeeping. Excellent pool area and lounge chairs. There were several locations for a clean restroom and washing hands. We would book again with our family. We enjoyed a double room for 2 adults and an infant (they asked if we needed a crib too) and had hot showers. The service was excellent, and I loved that they have local reviews and recommendations for tours, taxis, and more. Very easy to find and walking distance to a lot of local eateries, ATMs, and central parks. We felt safe and happy the whole stay. This season we did experience noise from the street parades and sirens but I didn't notice anymore noise past 9pm. I slept all night.

Location was very central. Rooms are old and the toilets didn't work for us. Had a tough time with it. The attendant did try his best to help but it couldn't be resolved. I would have appreciated if they changed the room but that didn't happen.

Not usually one to do this, but this review is prompted by - in our view - unnecessarily shortsightedness of the hotel management. We had made a booking mistake - which is hardly unique in the tourism business, especially in areas with high traveler traffic who are crisscrossing across countries - and so sought to amend the date of our arrival. ‘Hotel policy’ did not allow a rebooking as we realized our mistake less than 48hrs in advance (received a ‘reminder’) and so the hotel ‘had to’ charge us in full. If we were a no-show I would fully understand the hotel taking the full charge, but this was not the case; we simply wanted to amend the date and would have loved to stay as it gets great reviews and looked lovely. But, alas, the hotel rather chose to take our money instead of providing us with their lodging service (which ofc. is their right under the contract). If you are in the customer retail service industry this is a disappointing practice in my view, leading me to give this hotel a poor review. I also leave this review to encourage the hotel to review their policy and hopefully provide more flexibility for other future travelers that might benefit from the hotel being more service-minded in this regard. The hotel was ok. The room was a reasonable size with 2 beds. The bathroom had a wooden surround that frankly should be removed - a nice design feature but utterly impractical as it was filthy, covered in gunk and dust and obviously can't be cleaned. Believe it or not the TV was a useless non-smart TV with very poor sound quality. So watching Netflix or anything else was impossible. A shame really as the WiFi was good. Seems very short sighted as a small smart TV is really very cheap these days. Then there was a disco somewhere on our last night with very loud music and someone screeching into a PA system until about 5 am!! So if you like this sort of thing, this is the place for you! The breakfast was ok...not great but ok. The staff were pleasant.

Lovely little hotel, with a lot of character, and friendly staff. We stayed in the suite which was large, had beautiful furniture, and was immaculate. Breakfast in the courtyard was delicious. The location near the main town square is excellent, but there is a lot of traffic on the street fronting the hotel entrance. Travelers should be aware that while the main room of the suite has three small balconies, there are no windows, which means that you have to open the wooden balcony doors to get natural light.

Beautiful stay in Casa San Roque, highly recommend should you spend time in Valladolid. A 3-star hotel which makes you feel at home, where tourists are happy to come back after a day visiting Valladolid and its surroundings. Very nice staff and good breakfast.

Casa San Roque is a charming small hotel located a short distance from Valladolid’s lovely main square. Our room was on the compact side but had 2 comfortable double beds and a decent shower room. It was clean and quiet. The hotel has a small garden to the rear with small pool. Breakfast was good and served on a small terrace. Staff were friendly and helpful. If revisiting Valladolid I would happily stay here again.
