Casa Schmidt

We found exactly what we were looking for at Casa Schmidt: a quiet place far from the touristy center, but still at walking distance from restaurants, groceries and bakeries... (10~15min walking from harbour). Bernhart understood our needs, and shared his insider's advice to discover the island. We would have spend more time if we could have. ...don't make the same mistake than us! 😊

Very beautiful place with a warm and welcoming crew. Rooms are large and clean, opening on a charming garden. Many insider tips where given to ensure a great experience in Vulcano. It’s definitely a place to choose !

The B&B is located in nice and very quiet environment, were you can really rest from big city noise.It has with view on the Gran Cratere and is not far away from the centre and the port. Entrance to the room is through the spacious terrace. Room was clean and pleasant, there was a fridge. Bathroom big but with no place where you can put your stuff or hang the towel.Staff was very friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay at Casa Schmidt!

The host is a very nice person and we loved his dog and his stories. The view of the Vulcano in gorgeous. |The rooms are basic and there is the air conditioning, but we experienced two problems: too much mosquitos (it was quite difficult sleeping in the night) and no hot water in the morning (but we had hot water in the night). |You can go, but ask to the host anti-mosquitos tools. |A medium choice in the balance price-quality.

We have been there only 1 night but the owners received us like we were there for one month.||||Rooms are ok, nothing fancy but clean. Anyway we are there for the beach and trekking so it’s ok.||||Breakfast included, croissant, cereals and coffe, some buns cake and few fruits and yogurt.||||After all a great place that the owners take care and put love one day at the time. ||||Thanks 🙏

We stayed for two nights and were warmly welcomed and collected from the port. On arrival we found that the verandah outside the rooms was festooned with drying laundry. The facilities of the room and its en-suite were basic, and the bed had not been made ready for us. The towels were rock-hard and there were no towel rails and no mug. The fly curtain at the door was fixed inadequately with drawng pins. Both nights we were kept awake, one night for 4 hours, by a neighhbour's continuously barking dog, a regular occurrence apparently. The room was not serviced and the bed not made during our stay. It was nice to have breakfast outside, but the first morning when there were others staying and already there we were not offered anything, not even crockery and cutlery - it was quite disorganised; the second morning, we were the only guests, and there was nothing in evidence at all and we had to rummage in the fridge for fruit juice and make our own drinks. The effect is casual in the extreme, and not what one expects when paying for bed and breakfast: although friendly enough and willing to impart information, the proprietors seem to have no concept of what is expected nowadays in this type of accommodation.

Rosi and Bernhard are lovely people.Sweet kids. We would give 10stars but more then five is not possible. Bernhard's grandparents already build the house and bernhard completely renovated it. They made a little paradise there. We felt like at home there and had a wonderful time. When we came there Rosi told us, that she already turned on the climate system. Both speak fluently german and english. They helped us whereever they could and we had really nice chats with them. Bernhard also told us some nice stories about the island. Wonderful garden. Very nice breakfast area. We had a huge terrace and a big fridge outside at the terrace. Inside the room a doublebed and shower. Everything wonderful.

Short walk from the port to a clean comfortable welcoming owner and bed was all I needed for a good sleep. Breakfast was at Bar Faraglione. Mud pools were closed but I hopped over the fence and had them all to myself. Perfect.
