"For a classic Cape Cod escape, this well-appointed two-bedroom lets you walk or bike to salt marshes, beaches, and oyster grounds, then unwind in the outdoor tub or shower—yes, both. Dating to 1963, it keeps some old-school charm while adding modern conveniences, notably a state-of-the-art chef’s kitchen, plus a vintage sound system, indoor fireplace, hammock, fire pit, outdoor dining and BBQ, beach gear, and washer/dryer." - Elly Leavitt

We really enjoyed our time at Casa Secoya. The host was truly exceptional—incredibly helpful and dedicated to ensuring we were comfortable. Every one of our requests and needs was met with immediate attention and great effort. The hotel itself is so charming and cozy. Our room was sparkling clean, and we were very happy with the excellent hot water pressure in the shower. The outdoor space is wonderful. The barbecue area in the evening, with the string lights twinkling, is so incredibly cozy and adds a wonderful atmosphere. We highly recommend Casa Secoya and will definitely be planning another visit!

We booked a 2 night weekend getaway at Casa Secoya and it was exactly what we were looking for. The rooms are updated, roomy, and tidy with a mini fridge, cable TV, and A/C. The pool was very refreshing as it was 80’s-90’s during our stay in addition to the lounge chairs that we took advantage of on the big lawn. The location can’t be beat with neighboring towns within a few minute drive, and also a coffee shop and restaurant/bar next door. Staff was very friendly with an easy check in and smart keyless system. This will be our go-to getaway going forward. Thank you Casa Secoya!

Google
Great location surrounded by redwoods. The room was on the smaller size, but clean, cute, and cozy. The owner was kind and helpful. We only stayed one night, but will definitely stay again next time was are in the area!!

I had the best time at this adorable spot in a town I’d never heard of until this trip. 😊 Every staff member I came across was so kind, friendly and accommodating. I brought my dog and we had the best time. The surrounding area is SO beautiful and perfect for potty walks. I really can’t say enough about this spot. I’d definitely go back!

Google
Great location, you can park and never get back in the car til you leave. There's a pool, restaurant, coffee café , and redwoods walk right there. The host/owner is very kind and helpful, rooms are comfy, and shower is perfect.

Google
Over all an okay place. The bed was comfortable. The decor is plain. Not much counter space. Coffee maker not all parts were there. Ice bucket was dirty. The bed frame is metal and my husband kept stubbing his toes. A small rug on the floor had a bunch of long hairs clumped under it- found it by mistake when feet pushed up the corner. Shower head was not screwed on all the way and sprayed water. I hand tightened it as the office was closed at 7 am.

Google
Absolutely loved my one-night stay. From the moment I arrived, I was struck by the peaceful setting—tucked among the beautiful redwoods, it truly feels like a hidden gem in the Russian River area. The room was spotless, comfortable, and had a modern yet cozy Nordic vibe with the colour selections . The bed was especially comfortable, and I slept better than I have in a long time. The staff were welcoming and made check-in a breeze, even offering great tips about local spots and hiking trails nearby. I appreciated the thoughtful touches throughout the property, like the outdoor seating areas and the inviting pool, which was a perfect spot to unwind in the evening. The location is fantastic—quiet and surrounded by nature, but just a short drive to Guerneville and some excellent restaurants and coffee shops. Close enough to Santa Rosa and nearby attractions. I’ll definitely be back!

Jim C.

Google
Loved this place! Easy check in & out. Room was clean, microwave, fridge, bath soaps & shampoo. Beautiful location in the redwoods and right next door is a coffee shop with fresh baked goods & golf course with a warm inviting restaurant.

Yelp
We had been on the road from Nevada for seven hours on a Friday. The facility has been under new management since April and much has been upgraded. We stayed in a small queen room which had been upgraded. It was nice. Then when I got up the next morning I felt a sharp pain in my big toe. Looking up at me with tail poised was a little bitty scorpion...and I grabbed a shoe, leaving the tiny carcass for housekeeping to tend to. I discovered that I am not allergic--and wasn't worried. When we checked out via text I informed management about the incident and received a text back checking on my condition. The manager, Xavier Flores, requested a follow up call on Monday to make sure that I was OK and get details about the incident. He promised to follow up with their pest control service and figure out how the critter appeared... Mr Flores said this was the first scorpion report since his arrival on staff. So another scorpion encounter is probably unlikely. But if you are worried...turn on the lights and look before going barefoot in the morning The staff get five stars

Yelp
Casa Secoya looks cute and charming online, but is extremely lacking in basic amenities. The location is wonderful, the bed was comfortable and the shower had great pressure. Otherwise, this place is pretty disappointing. The walls are paper thin... it sounded like our neighbors in room 11 had quite the night last night. While the bed was comfortable the frame was extremely squeaky, making it difficult to thoroughly enjoy a full nights rest. The ice machine was broken, the rooms do not have a coffee maker and we just really couldn't find the value to encourage us to stay here again. Fortunately we found a great discounted rate, I certainly would not pay the peak season prices for this property. We frequent this area, and I'll likely only stay here again for a guys night after a golf outing at Northwoods... because it is literally next door & convenient. Good luck Casa Secoya!

Yelp
This is a beautiful place, I hope they resolve the mold odor issue. I reached out to the manager again, but he has not responded to my request to apply the 20% to our current bill. While we appreciated the 20% discount offer for a future visit, I had requested a discount on our current bill of over $1,000. Given the significant challenges we encountered, such as the extremely smell of the mold concerns, inadequate sleeping arrangements, and insufficient amenities (e.g., towels, blankets), I believe a discount on our current bill would be a more appropriate resolution. To recap, here are the key concerns: Mold: Upon arrival, the unit had a strong moldy odor, we had to leave the windows open, yet there were a few we could not leave open due to missing screens, we left the front door and sliding door open to mitigate the smell. They moved us to another cabin and that too had a horrible mold smell, not as bad as the first one but still not bearable. The smell was so bad that we had to leave the windows and doors open at all times. Later shut the doors and left the windows open except for the window that had a bent screen. We had the fan in the bedroom on until we left, and we slept with the heater on because it was so cold. Sleeping Arrangements: The unit, listed for 5 guests, was only comfortably set up for 3-4, and the top bunk bed was missing a mattress. The couch appeared too flimsy to use, and there weren't enough blankets, especially given the cold nights. Recommend taking a blow up mattress. Towels and Trash: The information sheet mentioned that towels and trash would be picked up and replenished if left outside, but this didn't happen. We were told afterward that we should have called to request it, but that wasn't indicated on the sheet. Health Concerns: My daughter had to leave a day early due to health issues, including swelling in her eyes and respiratory symptoms. My granddaughter also required her inhaler during our stay. I suggested they hire a professional to check for mold issues. We were really hoping to enjoy our stay, as the location is beautiful, and the staff were helpful when we reached out. However, the issues we encountered, especially with the mold was unbearable. Given these circumstances, we kindly request a reasonable adjustment to our current bill, and we hope they address this promptly. Google Search..... Potential Health Risk: Mold can pose health risks, particularly for individuals with allergies, asthma, or compromised immune systems. Even if you aren't experiencing immediate symptoms, it's wise to report potential mold issues for your safety and the well-being of others.

Yelp
This is a family friendly resort. Nice rooms. Good service, clean . Pool is only open "seasonal" so check with office . May thru Sept. Otherwise a good place to stay

Yelp
I stayed here this past weekend for a family reunion they were very accommodating and the bed i had in my room was the most comfortable bed I have ever had in any hotel I've stayed at. Landscape needs some work but was a great place.

Yelp
2 stars only because of good location but... Wasted a lot of time dealing defective room key cards. (Room. 7) Initially they acted as though WE were doing something wrong. Had to have cards rekeyed several times and door opened by staff... a real piss-off factor. Finally the Receptionist admitted an ongoing issue with door lock failures that presumably is known by management. Queen mattress was very comfortable but the metal bed frame squeak incessantly all night long! Every time we sat on the bed, or made the slightest move... {{ SQUEAK }} extremely irritating. Toilet seat would not stay up so every time hubby had to pee, he had to position himself to prop the toilet seat with his knee. These and other inconveniences have put us off of ever returning.

Yelp
Casa Secoya is a nice Motel with a pool, conveniently located near Guerneville. While most of the rooms are nice, well lite, and have a view of the pool and distant trees. There is only one room, room 12 that should be called the Dark Dungeon, and unless you are okay with renting a Dark Dungeon, make sure you get one of the other rooms which are much nicer.

Sidney K.

Yelp
I understand this is a cabin so we didn't expect much. But having to live in a small cabin brimming with centipedes and spiders and stocked with damp towels, unwashed from the previous guest's use, and filthy sticky kitchenware was too much. We had booked cabin#22 for two nights but barely survived one night. We checked out first thing in the morning the next day. The place smelled like chemicals when we first walked in. Nothing worked and we felt dirty just being there (heater and fan were both broke). To top it all off, I discovered that at least two of the towels had been used and just folded up and restocked by housekeeping. The drawers were full of clearly unwashed dishes which were still sticky. The pictures speak for themselves. All in all, we felt we were going to catch something if we didn't leave immediately.

Yelp
Beautiful quiet hotel. Beds are so soft and comfortable. Ample shampoo and conditioner. Water runs happy and hot! Pool is seasonal. Highly highly recommended the coffee place next door (Bia) the owner is very amazing! There is a lot space to play, cornhole, connect 4 and just lounge. Side note: There is no coffee maker in the room

Yelp
Awesome little gem. Very clean, amazingly comfortable beds (fixed my back), lovely staff, and a surprisingly deep pool. It's not everyday you stay at a hotel with a 12 foot deep pool. The location is excellent. Will stay again next time I'm up.

Yelp
Could not provide us with a key for our room. We were told we would have to knock on their door (living area) to be let into our room. I voiced my concerns, but the office lady said there was nothing she could do, and we could knock at any time to be let in. So when we returned late from our friend's campsite, like I explained would happen, and knocked at 11:00, a gentleman opened the door in his underwear and acted like he had no idea about our situation. He didn't put on his pants to let us in, just a t-shirt. No apologies were given. They did not try to resolve our problem. No one answered the phone when we called from our friend's campsite because we were told the office lady would be available at 10 AM. I left a message. No one returned my call. No one answered the phone, and I stopped trying around noon so I could focus on our activities.

Yelp
What a amazing hidden jewel. A great location in between the Redwoods. Rooms very modern with everything thing you could need. Jeremy gave us great advice for lunch and coffee. This hotel includes a great clean pool and bbq pits that make for a great getaway

Yelp
We stayed there last year and had a very good experience. This year was different. We came for the pool and the manager never told us that the county had shut it down for some minor violations. I saw a note on the gate to the pool and asked about it. He said that it would be lifted within a few hours. It never was and all he did was stall me. We never got to go in the pool, nor were we compensated. I also thought I left my Kindle in the room. I called them several times, and left messages that were never returned. I'm telling everyone I know not to stay there.

Ly H.

Yelp
The manager finally returned our calls and refunded all our money. He was quite nice about it, but they have major untrained staffing issues. Very happy to be refunded. Lynn M

Yelp
We stayed there 2 nights ago and were not satisfied at all. The place didn't have a phone to contact the front desk. Also there were no outside lights at night. I got up at 5 to let the dog out and it was pitch black outside. Inside it had a very small table with 2 plastic chairs. Also the concrete steps going back to the car have a 45 degree angle of concrete covering pipes running along the riser. Very unsafe.

Yelp
My wife and I stayed at Casa Secoya for one night on our honeymoon as we traveled southbound on Highway 1 back down to LA. The staff at Casa Secoya had excellent communication with us leading up to the reservation and were very friendly over the phone. We had a late check-in and they walked us through it step by step. The bed was fine and the room/bathroom were clean, except for a couple spiders. For the price we paid for the room, $300+, we were pretty disappointed with the quality of the amenities and the room itself. The amenities seemed older and quite used. To my knowledge, there was no breakfast offered, however, the Irish (I think it was Irish?) café just down the road was delightful. Still for the price we paid, some type of breakfast would have been expected. We didn't use the pool. For some reason, we didn't feel the most safe here. It's hard for me to qualitatively tell you why that was. It could have been the second entrance to the room, the thin walls, the not great lightning in the parking lot, the amenities, or all of the above. Obviously, it's a motel, and a motel never going to feel the same as a hotel or an AirBnB, but this one made me and my wife feel uneasy, and again for $300+, that really disappointed me. It was objectively a decent place to stay for a night, but for $300+, the price seemed too high. If the price was ~$200, my review probably would have been more positive, but for $300+, the expectations are higher--and Casa Secoya didn't meet them.

Yelp
Our family of four stayed in one of the Quail Cabins during the week of Thanksgiving. The space was just the right size for us. The bedroom had a queen bed, a night stand, an electric heater built into the wall, and enough space for suitcases. In the hallway between the room and the bathroom, there is what looks to be a former closet converted into a small bed which was just enough for our two small children to share. The sofa also converted into a futon bed, but we opted not to use it for that. The TV had plenty of cable channels. The kitchen was pretty well stocked with equipment appropriate for the small kitchenette range. There was a gas fireplace in the corner of the living room that kept the space pretty warm. In fact, it would have been nice to be able to dial down that fireplace in the evening as we all went to bed. The bathroom was fairly updated with new fixtures and tiling work. Water was hot and plentiful, we never experienced it running out or not being able to maintain temperature. The bathroom is also where we noticed the most "patches" though. There was a spackled spot on the wall that we figured must have been just spackled before we got there as it was still purple and not fully dried. Some of the caulking around the edges of the sink and shower were a bit iffy. These things didn't hurt our stay there, but it just gave the impression that things were 'quickly' converted and maybe not maintained in detail. The cabins are located towards the back of the property, which means further from the road. This is nice because there is quite a bit of traffic going through at most hours of the day. There isn't really any lobby to this place for any kind of services besides check-in. It's only staffed in the afternoon, and other service questions will be done over the phone. There is housekeeping onsite making the rounds in the morning. There was a coffee machine in the kitchenette, but I didn't end up using it because across the street is a charming coffeeshop that also sells many types of breads (banana, coffeecake, muffins, etc). The only real complaint I might make is that the dining table was bar height, which was difficult for kids to get in and out of. A standard height table and chair set would have been much better in that space. I was really surprised with the quality of our stay in the cabins because of the very affordable price. We came in November which I suppose is low season for this area, so I wouldn't be surprised if the prices were higher in the warmer months. Casa Secoya is located in a place where there is nice forest hiking on one side, and nice coastal hiking on the other. I'd be happy to come and stay here again.

Yelp
We didn't have running water for over an hour one night because of some plumbing issue, super loud parties to which

Yelp
I feel bad giving this place a do not recommend - they had one of the nicest hotel staffs I've ever met, but the owners have done the laziest most insulting and superficial flip of a motel I've ever seen. Everything has a new coat of paint but the beds, pillows, etc. are cheap and uncomfortable. The common area lawn is definitely green but it's just barren and scattered with some cheap plastic lawn chairs. No fire, lights, or other inviting space out there so everyone just hides in their rooms or goes elsewhere. It marketed itself as good for families but i would def not bring kids here - we did it have kids but watching others it seems like nothing to do besides run in circles on the lawn. Owners could fix this with a $50k upgrade to their common area and they choose not to, so question what else they're not spending on in the back end. They are also short-staffed, i didn't ask staff but given everything else going on there i would conclude that's bc owners don't want to pay ppl fairly. The only use case for the hotel is if you're playing golf next door - it would be great for that. But this is priced like a good hotel when it's a cheap motel. you can find cheaper rustic cabin options in guerneville that are actually fun and family friendly or if you're on a romantic getaway, spend $50-$100 more a night and go to somewhere that justifies the spend.

Yelp
This property has no respect for Sonoma County Ordinances which define quiet hours from 10pm to 7am. They have a party tonight which is loud over a mile away. There are homes directly behind the property which hear it worse than I do. I could not converse with a friend on my deck due to the invasive loud percussion and sound starting at 6pm and continuing well past 10pm. We have jobs. We work on Sundays and need our sleep and peace. This is rude and invasive disturbance of the peace in this neighborhood and I understand that other neighbors have reached out for help. Also after calling the Sonoma County Police, they did not enforce the ordinance even after visiting the site. We need help.

Laura H.

Yelp
We stayed here last year and had a good experience, but we had a terrible experience on our recent stay. The room hadn't been cleaned well when we arrived. There was dog hair and dog food and trash everywhere, the sheets and towels were stained, and the fridge was dirty. The bed was saggy and creaky and incredibly uncomfortable. On the first night, there were people partying at the pool all night. On the second night, the people in the room next to us were screaming until late at night. All of this I would expect at a cheap motel for cheap motel prices, but for $200+/night, this is offensive. Don't bill yourself as family friendly. Definitely not coming back.

Gracie F.

Yelp
0 stars. do not stay here there was amplified music at 11 pm. my son was not able to sleep all night. there was no manager to help us with our complaints. more than an hour later there was no change in the situation. i would never stay here!

David W.

Yelp
Ignores the county sheriff and neighbors complaints about noise from guest parties. No manager on site at night.

S H.

Yelp
We were ready for a quaint, charming place to decompress for the night; we we're so disappointed by our experience. Rather than a list of gripes targeted towards potential guests, we thought we'd offer suggestions to the owner: *Update the website to exclude amenities not currently offered. The gas fireplace didn't work and the tiny space heaters provided weren't adequate. If you've taken the time to create signs asking guests not to use the fireplace you can take the time to inform potential guests that the main source of heat is not working BEFORE they commit to their stay on a 43 degree night. *Ensure housekeeping is completely drying the towels, they were clean but quite damp. *Ensure the linens are clean or offer spares. Our bed blanket had dirt and bloody snot on it, we we're so glad we travel with a few of our own wool blankets or else we would have been freezing. *Staff the office for more than a few hours a day, It puts the guests in a precarious position when they're asked to call an employee after hours to address the damp towels and dirty linens. *Consider some wall art, there is a World Market in Santa Rosa. The six cabins that command a higher price should reflect some charm... there's just no excuse for bare walls. Minimalism shouldn't be a theme in a motel. While you're there pick up some couch cushions. *Fix the lack of hot water in the kitchen, cooking and the subsequent cleanup is a lot easier with access to hot water. There are a lot of choices of motels and Airbnb's in the area, I can't think of anything you've offered that would make us want to return.

Heidi S.

Yelp
This place is a complete scam. They charged us cabin rates and gave us a motel room and didn't adjust the price despite my weekly calls and their commitment at check in to do so. The pool has been shut down since June and we called prior to ask about the accommodations and they didn't tell us even though we said we had four kids with us. There were long dark hairs all over our towels and we couldn't use them to take a shower. When I asked about that, they said that sometimes this just happens. They said that we would be compensated 20 percent for the pool not being open and for staying in a motel room but we still paid the cabin fee. Each week I call and they keep saying the manager is not there and they will will call me back, but the manager never calls me back. I would never stay here again and I highly recommend that you do not stay here.

Yelp
Extremely disappointed with this place. We travel with our dogs and look for dog friendly properties. We went to Casa Secoya last week for both our anniversary and my husband's birthday. We really enjoyed our time- despite no keys working starting after our 1st night and having to come in the sliding door of the cabin each time (leaving it unlocked). It was not because we de-magnetized the cards, but rather the lock wouldn't read any of their cards but a master. This wouldn't have been an issue at all except for what we were charged with when we returned home. I noticed a charge of $89 on our credit card bill. I called to see why, spoke with Jeremy (?) and he at first told me he didn't see any charges on his end, but then "found" them for a towel, a sheet and a football. He said there were "dirty paws" on the towel and we were therefore charged. We didn't even get on to the bedsheet, because I was pretty frustrated but am guessing that was also due to "dirty paws" since our dogs slept on this floor bed in what looks like a closet. My problem is this- don't advertise being pet friendly and then not only charge a dog fee, but bogus $89 charge for dirty sheets and towels. I asked how bleach (or stain remover) would not take away dirty dog prints from a towel and he informed me they don't use those cleaning products. Again, all fine and good- but let your paying customers know ahead of time what they might actually be charged for and that you don't use regular cleaning products. You can't claim to be dog friendly and then slap on all those fees! In regards to a football- they have a common area where there are games and chairs. We never left our dogs unattended and never saw them destroy a football. It was clearly assumed that the dogs destroyed a football out in the common areas. Not ok. Please be aware what you may be charged for when staying here. I'm a very clean person and even brought in sheets from our car to cover the couch so it would minimize dog hair and did my best to cover anything not able to be thrown in washing machine. For 2 nights in a cabin, this was a rip off with the condition we actually left the cabin in when we left. We tried this place out after usually staying in a super dog friendly place in Guerneville and will not be returning ever again. The place in Guerneville and all other places we regularly travel with our dogs have never ripped us off like this. This is really a shame.

Yelp
Nice motel that was recently updated. Comfortable beds and large flat screen TV. Only thing missing was a coffee maker, but the room has a microwave and refrigerator.

Vikki M.

Yelp
I stayed here in room 22. Let me tell you... It doesn't deserve the high rating it seems to have. 1. Room keys were demagnetized even through careful placement throughout my stay 2. Two different neighbors each night that kept my family awake, even though they state there are quiet hours 3. Plumbing sucked! Each drain.. Every single drain backed up! 4. The sofa couch was broken and sat lopsided 5. The bedroom bed was so stiff! It felt like I was sleeping on a board with covers 6. The chairs under the table are so high they don't have enough room to sit properly with your legs under the table Overall, the stay was not worth the amount of money paid!!

Yelp
I very much wanted to love this place, with its very cute modern vintage vibe and colorful doors. My experience is similar to that of the other person who stayed in a cabin. The wifi in the cabin was un-usable, as it dropped coverage every few minutes, on all devices. Since there is also no phone coverage in the area, wifi becomes the only way you'd be able to make calls, so without wifi that's down as well. They also cut off the water, without warning, while I was in the middle of a shower and had conditioner in my hair. The wifi was down, so it took a bit for my husband to get in touch with the desk. They were making repairs of some sort and turned the water back on quickly, but as with any place, it's common (and expected) to do a courtesy notification around utilities being turned off. It did not seem to be an emergency shut-off because they turned it back on, and then off again after we asked what happened and I'd rinsed my hair. Beyond that, the décor is cute and looks fresh trend-wise, but all of it was really uncomfortable to sit on. The bed was super old, and sagged a lot in the middle. I questioned if it was a queen, but I think it felt small because we both rolled to the middle due to the sag. In looking at the mattress, it did appear to be very very old. I feel for the staff and Chris did try to make things right, and I am appreciative that they cared about what was going on. That said, after nearly a full day of not being able to get to much of anything online (and needing to do some work, along with needing to be reachable by phone because of an unfolding family emergency), we checked out to go somewhere with connectivity and a place we could do some work from. I'm sad it wasn't a better experience because I do wish it lived up to expectations, and I know that the new owners have put a lot of heart into the place.

Yelp
Booked through air bnb. The room we rented was not what was on the listing but was quiet and clean. Lots of things to do on the property. We played some cornhole and frisbee to waste time between check in and dinner. The rooms were nice and quiet. Tip: if you want in room coffee let them know when you book and they will leave a set up in your room. It's not a standard amenity.

Jd M.

Yelp
Clean rooms and friendly staff, nice location. Rooms are very small, no coffee maker, ours did have a small microwave. Would give 4 stars except that we were slapped with a $90 fee a few days later with no communication. When I called about it I was told there were wine stains on two pillowcases. We were drinking wine so it's possible, but we definitely didn't have any kind of major spill that would leave a big stain. We checked the room thoroughly on the way out. I found it strange that there was no communication about the charge, and no pictures offered. So if you stay here, maybe take pictures of your room on the way out in case you need to contest a cleaning fee. Pool closes early, 7pm.

Great prices, clean and modern accommodations in the middle of the redwoods, dog friendly in the sweet, funky town of Monte Rio. Need I say more?

Yelp
Beyond the lodging.... I just had the pleasure of speaking with Chris, the manager of the property. On a Friday evening, the first weekend back from the lifting of COVID restrictions, he spent 10 minutes with me on the phone. He explained their the property, the rooms available and which rooms would be best for peace and relaxation. He informed me of local park closures, food options and pending weather forecast. So while we opted to pass on this weekend, Chris was gracious and more then accommodating. As a customer service manager for the high end furniture company in Northern California, I know customer service. Chris is Customer Service! We will see you soon Casa Secoya, yes we will!!!

Yelp
Simple clean and awesome hosts. This is just the kind of spot to relax after hiking the redwoods. These guys spent a lot of time taking old and tired and making it new and fresh. I stopped here after a long day of riding and the bed was so comfortable I slept in! Give it a shot. If you're looking for simple clean and comfortable with awesome owners. This is a spot for you. BTW Chris is from Texas.... don't hold that against him!

Yelp
I am so very very pleased with the service of Casa Secoya. The lovely lady at the desk helped me straighten out my botched reservation. She really took the time to fix the mess I made. It really helped me out and I am so happy and thankful! Thank you Zoey!

Yelp
We had a wonderful three day vacation at Casa Secoya!! Loved going for long walks, playing at Vacation Bridge on the Russian River with our two and four year olds, going to Goat Rock Beach and eating at outdoor restaurants in the area! Loved the outdoor movie screening of Monsters Inc. Loved bringing our pup along too!! The pool was amazing with all the pool toys provided. We had the best time!! This place is beautifully remodeled and super family friendly. The owners are really hospitable as well!!

Yelp
We have been coming to this neck of the woods for years and are excited to make Casa Secoya our new base for relaxing and exploring. The new owners and management have transformed the former Northwood Lodge to its full potential. The property features a large and meticulously maintained pool, bathed in sun. Just steps away is a peaceful shady redwood grove. The rooms are comfortable and spotless and the cabins offer even more space to stretch out and are perfect for families. Our dog Oscar loves that he is welcome! The area has so much to offer. Some of the best cycling in Northern California can be experienced right from Casa Secoya; several river beaches are just minutes away; and Armstrong Woods offers tremendous hiking, from a short jaunt through virgin redwood forests to a strenuous multi-hour loop. Sonoma County's best wineries are 30 minutes away, and Guerneville has many excellent food options just 5 minutes away. Fresh baked goods and espresso can be had just across the street at Bia Cafe. While the area is best known as a summer destination, I highly recommending in the quieter off season as well.

Yelp
The newly opened Casa Secoya is clean, dog friendly and a quiet oasis set against the backdrop of the redwoods. We went up there for a quick weekend break from sheltering at home and it was nice to have a place where our dog and our kids could get out and enjoy some fresh air. The kids swam in the pool and the dog lounged in the sun and sniffed the whole property. We took some lovely walks around the property and the staff was very helpful accommodating our needs and making recommendations around the area. We will be back!

Yelp
No one was there to check me in. No one there for much of the day/evening if there is a problem. I booked a room for the same day. I called 11am or so and asked for an early check-in. I was told which type of room to book because they that type was available for an early arrival and booked that room online while still on the phone. When I arrived 2 1/2 hours later (about 1:20pm), no one was there. I rang the bell, and went a few miles down the road to find phone service and called. No one from the hotel answered so the call kept forwarding to the answering service. And they couldn't reach the hotel staff either. The staff on the phone was apologetic and said the policy was they should always be able to reach the site manager, but could not. I was eventually told to come back at 4 because they didn't know what was going on. When I came back later the staff unapologetically told me early check in is not guaranteed and they close from 11am-4pm. I explained that I had called that day to confirm and had booked there vs somewhere else because of what they told me and I was told they know that's what someone told me but it's not the site's policy. The room was fine, the location was fine. Problems: there was no WiFi until you check in and no phone service so if they don't answer you can't even call without going a mile or two down the road. And the answering service was nice but unable to help. Most of all the staff fails at key parts of their job: accessibility, service, ethics, and caring.

Yelp
We really enjoyed our stay here. Friendly staff, clean and well appointed rooms/cabins, a clean and nicely landscaped pool, and nice open spaces. Great place for dogs and beautiful atmosphere amongst the scenic redwoods.

Yelp
Absolute worst hotel experience of my life. I locked myself out of my room at 7.10 pm. The attendant apparently leaves at 7 pm. The help number doesn't work. Zoe (she was actually serious) let me know that indeed the number works, but, no one picks up. LOL. No apologies whatsoever. Then, Zoe bangs on my door (I finally got a key to get into my room at 9.30 am) and enters my unit uninvited.....promptly lets me know that I have to be out immediately. It is around 11.30 am at this point (30 mins after check out time, please remember that I was locked out of my room all night). She then lets me know that she would call the police if I didn't leave immediately. I let her know that she should definitely do that and that I have plenty to speak with them about. Hospitality? She followed through - they couldn't believe it when I told them the story. This place is a joke.

Yelp
We got a cabin and it was ok. The fridge kept our food luke warm and we have to throw about $70 worth of it away. Tried to tell the staff and they couldn't care less. The pictures are deceiving. It looks like a fun place but the pool is closed and there's basically a large area of grass to run around on. The pics make it look like a family atmosphere but it's just a place to sleep so you can go do other things. Ice machine is broken so they provided small bags of ice. We had to leave our back sliding door open because the keys to the room continually did not work. Wouldn't stay there again and look forward to trying somewhere else. I did jog each morning in a nearby neighborhood which was nice.

Yelp
My family and I had a lovely time staying at this charming roadside motel. We enjoyed simply hanging out by the pool while watching the redwoods sway. The friendly attentiveness of the property's stewards was refreshing - they provided great suggestions for wineries and dining options in the area. The decor of the room was simple - an additional bedside table might be helpful- but otherwise no complaints. Important to note that cellphone service in this area is practically non-existent, so the wi-fi provided by the establishment is important. No issues with logging-on or staying online. The beds were comfy and a welcome end to a long day at the pool or the river. Looking forward to coming back!

Yelp
We booked 4 rooms, three months in advance for a family event that took place June 24-26. Check in is 4:00. When my family arrived the first day, we had to wait until 5:00 to get into our rooms. I have never stayed in a hotel before where no one worked the front desk and the office is locked for most of the day and night. The number posted on the door simply takes you to a recording. After our event on day #1, we arrived back to the motel at 9:30 PM to find that neither of our keys worked. Once again, the office was closed, and the numbers to call in an emergency went straight to recordings. We were in front of our room for 45 min. until we were finally given assistance AFTER my husband walked to a restaurant on an adjacent property and two of our adult children were on the phone trying to get through to someone who could help us. Eventually at 10:15, we connected the manager drove in from off site to help us get into our room. Our room was tiny, didn't even have a closet. It was certainly not what I expected for over $300 per night. When we returned to the motel on night #2, our key got us in, but our neighbors two doors down were outside their room because their keys didn't work. Same issue with no one in office and recordings on phone. It took quite a while for that problem to get resolved. It's unfortunate that Casa Secoya is so poorly run because it's location is ideal. With some renovation and a massive improvement in customer service, it has the potential to be a nice place. 2 stars for the pool, grassy play area and the little coffee shop nearby.

Yelp
After seeing their website COVID notice only "encouraging" mask wearing (even in the lobby!), we decided no thanks (see attached graphic). The GM is apparently unaware of their published policy, as he emailed that mask wearing is "required". When I asked him why there was a discrepancy, he stopped replying. So, buyer beware!

Yelp
Torn with this review because although it is set in a very pretty setting (tons of redwoods and trees), I was pretty disappointed in the value. We paid a little over $400 for a very small room with a TV that didn't work and no access to drinking water (that was available to fill up or for purchase). Also no coffee/hot water/tea for breakfast or a place to make coffee. Although someone did come to fix our TV, and we were directed to where we could buy water and coffee, I feel like the experience was not $400 worth. Overall, we would not stay here again.

Yelp
We just had the most wonderful stay at Casa Secoya. The area is amazing with so much to do and explore. Casa Secoya has nice rooms, cabins for glamping families and knowledgeable, attentive management. Everything was very clean and the facilities were obviously very well maintained. It's adjacent to one of the most beautiful golf courses I've ever played. There is a cute little coffee shop and restaurant next door. There is a lot of fun in the area and the helpful owners pointed us to the highlights. Casa Secoya is a great place to stay in this beautiful corner of California.

Yelp
This place is lovely! Clean, up to date, quiet, and dog friendly. The staff is pleasant, polite and helpful. We'll be back!
