Casa Sol & Maquil Villas

We just returned to Canada from our spectacular stay at Palma Real villa at Casa Sol and Maquil Villas. A 5 Star review is inadequate to rate this magnificent resort. I have never encountered a collection of staff members so warm, attentive, personable, professional and fun. Every one of them felt like a friend to us during our 2 week stay. The owners should be so proud of the great people they have running the place. The (included) breakfasts and Happy hour gatherings were a highlight of the stay. In terms of the property, our 3 story Villa overlooking Zipolite beach below was nothing short of mind blowing. The villa had it's own wonderful pool ,which we enjoyed several times a day. The rooms were lovely and a cool retreat from the hot sun. The view was one you would have in your dreams. The housekeeping staff cleaned our villa and rooms immaculately every day. The only word of warning to guests is the hike up to the property from town. Suffice it to say that we got our exercise but that was a small price to pay for the view and setting of the resort. The gardens, tropical plants and multiple pools are all maintained at the highest of standards. I will leave some pics shortly but wanted to write the review to thank Isaac, Kaleb, Jessica, Carolina and everyone for great memories and warm feelings.

If you’re dreaming of a quiet, peaceful, child-free paradise surrounded by nature, this is the perfect hotel. I stayed for a week with my gf, and the experience was exceptional from start to finish. The setting is stunning — breakfast on the terrace with a view of the ocean, lush greenery everywhere (it feels like wandering through a natural maze, especially magical in the evenings with the soft lights ✨), and three pools, including one overlooking the ocean for those perfect photos. The service is just as impressive: truly exceptional and always ready to help with anything you need. They deserve a standing ovation for how well they take care of guests. I’m not much of a writer, so I’ll keep it short — if you’re looking for a dream getaway, this is absolutely the place.

My girls and me had the most wonderful time in Casa Sol. The rooms, the view, the breakfast, everything made our stay to a time we will never forget. We felt like in a white lotus luxury resort, but in our own villa with kitchen and everything (and without crime). Casa Sol is not directly at the beach, but just a 10 minutes walk up a hill, and honestly, it’s even better with the view. The people working there are just so kind and ready to help when there are any questions. Especially to mention here Kaleb, he made our stay exceptional!! This guy needs a raise! Completely recommend this place!:)

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at Casa Sol. The property was beautiful. Our rooms were clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the delicious breakfasts—the huevos rancheros was a definite highlight—and evening drinks overlooking the ocean. I also want to thank Jessica, Isaac and Kaleb for their wonderful hospitality. We hope to return again next year.

Casa Sol was wonderful from start to finish. The staff are some of the warmest, friendliest we have met anywhere. Nothing was too much trouble. Breakfasts overlooking the ocean on the terrace are the perfect way to start your day. The coffee and fresh homemade banana bread were something to look forward to. They even treated us to an afternoon on the loungers on the small beach next to the hotel which felt like a private beach. If the sea is calm enough you can take a kayak out to explore. We stayed in the Hideaway, which had its own private lounge pool and was really comfortable and spacious inside. Overall we couldn’t recommend it enough and can’t wait to come back!

TLDR: Stop thinking about your Zipolite vacation and just book it and stay at Casa Sol! I’ve heard about this place from friends and everyone mentions how amazing it is, so it’s been on my list for a few years now. I finally had the opportunity to stay here and it was everything I wanted and more. Truly a magical place on top of the hill with stunning views of Playa Zipolite. The staff & service: Casa Sol employees were a 10 out of 10! From Isaac, to Jessica, to every single person we interacted with, everyone was so friendly and welcoming and helpful. It really felt like home and they were so attentive. All very kind. For the service alone, I’d come back over and over. You also get free daily breakfast from 8-10 and free happy hour with wine, beer, and some cocktails from 6-7. This was a great way to meet other hotel guests. We met some really nice people. The rooms: we were a group of 4 and we stayed in Palma Real. We couldn’t ask for a better villa! (Although I am sure every single one is beautiful). We had a private pool and two decks that overlooked Playa Zipolite. We were able to see the sunrise every morning from our bed or the pool just before breakfast. The hotel: everywhere you went in the hotel was beautiful. There are 3 pools to choose from. All got great sunlight throughout the day, but we would sometimes leave our private pool to go to the ocean view (clothing optional) pool and hang out. the architecture is done just right and greenery made it feel so cozy and beautiful. We stayed for 4 nights and I didn’t want to leave! I cannot express this enough, this hotel is truly special, and the staff, service, and atmosphere make it all feel like a magical place. Thank you, Casa Sol, for making our stay in Zipolite one to remember!

Casa Sol exceeded our expectations! Starting with the welcome drink, the spectacular view from our well appointed room, to the exceptional service, this place is a 5/5. The daily breakfast was delicious and locally inspired. Happy hour was a pleasant surprise, and we met the most amazing people. The hotel was in easy walking distance to the beach and restaurants. We will definitely be back!
