Casa Sol was wonderful from start to finish. The staff are some of the warmest, friendliest we have met anywhere. Nothing was too much trouble. Breakfasts overlooking the ocean on the terrace are the perfect way to start your day. The coffee and fresh homemade banana bread were something to look forward to. They even treated us to an afternoon on the loungers on the small beach next to the hotel which felt like a private beach. If the sea is calm enough you can take a kayak out to explore. We stayed in the Hideaway, which had its own private lounge pool and was really comfortable and spacious inside. Overall we couldn’t recommend it enough and can’t wait to come back!

TLDR: Stop thinking about your Zipolite vacation and just book it and stay at Casa Sol! I’ve heard about this place from friends and everyone mentions how amazing it is, so it’s been on my list for a few years now. I finally had the opportunity to stay here and it was everything I wanted and more. Truly a magical place on top of the hill with stunning views of Playa Zipolite. The staff & service: Casa Sol employees were a 10 out of 10! From Isaac, to Jessica, to every single person we interacted with, everyone was so friendly and welcoming and helpful. It really felt like home and they were so attentive. All very kind. For the service alone, I’d come back over and over. You also get free daily breakfast from 8-10 and free happy hour with wine, beer, and some cocktails from 6-7. This was a great way to meet other hotel guests. We met some really nice people. The rooms: we were a group of 4 and we stayed in Palma Real. We couldn’t ask for a better villa! (Although I am sure every single one is beautiful). We had a private pool and two decks that overlooked Playa Zipolite. We were able to see the sunrise every morning from our bed or the pool just before breakfast. The hotel: everywhere you went in the hotel was beautiful. There are 3 pools to choose from. All got great sunlight throughout the day, but we would sometimes leave our private pool to go to the ocean view (clothing optional) pool and hang out. the architecture is done just right and greenery made it feel so cozy and beautiful. We stayed for 4 nights and I didn’t want to leave! I cannot express this enough, this hotel is truly special, and the staff, service, and atmosphere make it all feel like a magical place. Thank you, Casa Sol, for making our stay in Zipolite one to remember!

Casa Sol exceeded our expectations! Starting with the welcome drink, the spectacular view from our well appointed room, to the exceptional service, this place is a 5/5. The daily breakfast was delicious and locally inspired. Happy hour was a pleasant surprise, and we met the most amazing people. The hotel was in easy walking distance to the beach and restaurants. We will definitely be back!

Where to start?||Ok, i know.|If you’re thinking of booking here, stop thinking and book.||By far the best place we’ve ever booked.|Yes the rooms are wonderful.|Yes the views are magnificient.|Yes the food is absolutely great.|Yes the location is amazing( although if you’ve got walking issues, a lot of steps, so be warned).|Yes the gardens and landscaping are perfect.||But, what REALLY set this place apart are the owners and the staff.|Absolutely great humans.||From the owners Craig and Jorge, who set the tone to being hosted like you were long time friends, to all the staff Isaac, Jessica, Caleb, Carolina, Clement at the restaurant, all the kitchen staff, all the gardening staff, all the cleaning staff, EVERYONE is super nice, not a « fake smiley nice » like you see usually.||So if you want a great relaxing vacation, away from the « Instagram » crowd, and want meaningful conversations with great people.|This is definitely the spot.||We were there from May 27th to June 5th 2025, and are already trying to see when we can possibly go back.||John & Karolyn.

Everything about Casa Sol is 5 stars - this was the best hotel experience I have ever had. Casa Sol is more than just a bed or room to sleep in while in Zipolite - it is a full experience. The staff, the property, and the amenities will make you never want to leave. We were shocked to hear that they were fully booked during our stay because of how quiet and private everything felt. We were often the only people at the pool. When we did gather for happy hour, the other guests felt like immediate friends - an environment that the staff helps to cultivate with their warmth. We had planned to spend 4 nights and then check out to explore nearby Mazunte, but ended up checking back in to Casa Sol after only 1 night away for the remainder of our trip because of how amazing it was. The walk into town can be hard if you have mobility challenges, but with everything available on the property (restaurant Q, the clubhouse for food and drinks during the day, drinks at the palapa), you probably won't want to leave much anyway! We will be back! We already miss Cafe & Azul (pups on property).

Great accommodations. The staff will help you spend the day on a secluded beach with cocktail and food service. Amazing!

My second, and not last, stay at Casa Sol. Just as enjoyable as my first visit two years ago, also in the Vista Suite with its large terrace and spectacular views. The attention to detail at the property has if anything improved, including ability to use WhatsApp to contact Front Desk, for example to get sun lounger on the private beach. All the staff are charming and helpful. For a solo traveller, the happy hour with free flowing wine is a great way to meet other guests and share experiences. The remarkably high return rate - I remain a novice compared to some other guests- speaks volumes.||My only very minor gripe! A change in bread/cake from the ubiquitous banana loaf would be welcome. I remember more variety a few years back.

We had such a great stay we’ll be coming back! Our room, Vista, was clean & the view was breath-taking (as are many places on the property). Even more impressive was the hospitality & attention to detail throughout our stay! I appreciated that our arrival at breakfast (which is made on-site & tastes amazing) signaled our room to be cleaned while we ate. We were often greeted by name & the staff made us feel warmly welcomed. Every meal we had on-site was great & dinners at Maquil, their adjoining property, were phenomenal! Pro tips: have a meal from the Clubhouse at Maquil delivered poolside or ask to have chairs & an umbrella set up for you on their beach.
