Casa sull'Albero (Malgrate, Lake Como) 4 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Contemporary, minimalist boutique hotels are a rarity on the shores of Lake Como, but Casa sull’Albero is exactly that: clean-lined where the competition is ornate, low-key where the old guard is formal. And while it might not be quite as extravagant an experience as the traditional Lake Como grand hotel, it’s perfectly comfortable, even quietly luxurious, and the textures of natural wood are everywhere — the name means “treehouse,” after all. There’s a small pool and spa, a self-serve “honesty kitchen,” and a daily breakfast service — with just 13 rooms there’s little space for much more." - Tablet Hotels

Superbe boutique hotel with a stunning garden and view on the lake and its mountains. Incredible value for money on lake Como. The staff is also very attentive, they will know who you are from day 1 and cater to your habits which is lovely. Perfect location for a nice chill in a stunning view and plenty of great hikes and cycle rides around. There’s a bike rental shop just down the road. Thank you for the lovely stay

Staying at this amazing boutique hotel with my girlfriend Asta for 2 nights in June 2025. Such a gem this place is. A superb and very private resort it is. Views are incredible and we enjoyed a premium breakfast during our stay. A very good front desk staf, helpful and friendly. Would like to stay again for sure.

Gorgeous boutique hotel with a panoramic view of the lake and the mountains, staff exceptionally helpful and professional. Great location away from the tourists scene.. great restaurants on walking distance and to the honesty kitchen (with great selection of wines) was a bonus!

Unique hotel in an amazing locating with beautiful views, but not the best experience. We stayed at the Lake view studio and while the view is breathtaking, the room itself left much to be desired. It is a little worn out with some damage here and there. The room overall is ok, but the bathroom is quite non-user friendly and not at all relaxing. The ligting is very harsh, the shower super small and with no glass there is no way not to flood the rest of the bathroom no matter how careful you are while showering. Lack of hooks and the wall and the sink is spraying water on you while you use it as the faucet is too long. We used the personal SPA which is also very worn out with damaged walls from the moisture and also some mould. For the price of 50€ for an hour, only 2 saunas and a worn out "relaxation" room is way too high of a price. Breakfast is delicious but everything was served cold, even eggs and pancakes. The plates for breakfast are very small so you need to take plates from other tables in order to have more than one piece of bread. Overall, we loved the hotel for the views but for the price, we expected an overall better and more luxurious experience.

Nestled on the top of a hill above the promenade the views were amazing. We raised an issue with the shower in our room (102), it was cold both mornings before we'd to leave at 7am. Staff said it should be working if you run the water for a few minutes - it was still freezing. We asked after for a partial refund but they only offered a small discount when we stay next.

The hotel is a fantastic, and unique place to stay in Malgrate just across the lake from Lecco.  The room we had was very comfortable with a large bathroom and views of the trees and garden. The only thing we thought would improve it was more drawers for storage, which the hotel said they were going to look at. The lake can be accessed down steps through the  garden and sister hotel. This hotel also has a roof top bar, restaurants  and spa. It is a pleasant walk, but  not suitable for those of limited mobility. Casa sul Albero has a small pool, with some loungers and the honesty bar is very useful for access to coffees, drinks and snacks. The breakfast was lovely with lots of food options. All of the hotel staff were very helpful, and friendly, especially with advice on how to get to places around the lake.||Malgrate has some lovely restaurants, a very short walk from the hotel, just on the lake front and there are other options in Lecco which is about 20 minutes’ walk away. The train station in Lecco gives options to travel along the lake to Varenna  which has a ferry station from which you can access destinations around the lake although the arrangements  at times were  disorganised at the ferry terminal so it paid to be flexible with plans. Varenna itself is a lovely town to explore.||

Great location. The rooms are nice but somewhat small and without wardrobes. However, they are very beautiful. The wellness area offers a stunning view, but they allow more visitors than the capacity (loungers), and the Finnish sauna doesn’t work as well as expected. Very hospitable staff and an excellent breakfast.

Very nice hotel with a short walking distance to downtown Lecco. Great view of Lake Como from the beautiful garden.
