Casa sull'Albero (Malgrate, Lake Como) 4 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Contemporary, minimalist boutique hotels are a rarity on the shores of Lake Como, but Casa sull’Albero is exactly that: clean-lined where the competition is ornate, low-key where the old guard is formal. And while it might not be quite as extravagant an experience as the traditional Lake Como grand hotel, it’s perfectly comfortable, even quietly luxurious, and the textures of natural wood are everywhere — the name means “treehouse,” after all. There’s a small pool and spa, a self-serve “honesty kitchen,” and a daily breakfast service — with just 13 rooms there’s little space for much more." - Tablet Hotels

My room with a cement view listed as "garden view" was a box room with views of cement, air con unit and a large roof. Not relaxing at all. Very expensive and misleading when booking what you're actually getting with the room. When I asked management to discount me for providing a room with a couple of tree tops but mostly concrete and buildings, they declined to do so. My main issue is that they should have said "garden view - with obstructions". AND charged less, like you would find selecting a seat when going to the theatre. I chose this hotel for the room views and didn't get any. The grounds are beautiful and the staff are lovely. Shame the whole reason for coming was a complete disappointment and false advertising. I begrudge the misleading way they promote the rooms. It's incredibly poor customer service from the promotion of the accommodation to the way they deal with complaints. While some rooms may be lovely, some are so far from lovely you really ought to stay elsewhere. I'd suggest to anyone taking the gamble on this hotel to get them to tell you the room number and send pictures of your view before booking and hold them to it if it changes!

Extremely disappointing stay in Room 105. The room was right behind reception — noisy, no soundproofing. The AC made a deafening noise and couldn’t be turned off from the room; we had to go to reception three times to ask. The window couldn’t be opened due to rain and noise. The room became unbearably hot — we woke up at 4 AM and left by 5 without even having breakfast. The bathroom flooded during a normal shower (even after a technician “repaired” the hose), and I slipped and fell. The door wouldn’t close due to moisture damage and visible mold. No minibar, no safe, no proper wardrobe, not even a kettle with tea or coffee. Absolutely not the standard expected from a 4-star Michelin-listed hotel.

Superbe boutique hotel with a stunning garden and view on the lake and its mountains. Incredible value for money on lake Como. The staff is also very attentive, they will know who you are from day 1 and cater to your habits which is lovely. Perfect location for a nice chill in a stunning view and plenty of great hikes and cycle rides around. There’s a bike rental shop just down the road. Thank you for the lovely stay

Unique hotel in an amazing locating with beautiful views, but not the best experience. We stayed at the Lake view studio and while the view is breathtaking, the room itself left much to be desired. It is a little worn out with some damage here and there. The room overall is ok, but the bathroom is quite non-user friendly and not at all relaxing. The ligting is very harsh, the shower super small and with no glass there is no way not to flood the rest of the bathroom no matter how careful you are while showering. Lack of hooks and the wall and the sink is spraying water on you while you use it as the faucet is too long. We used the personal SPA which is also very worn out with damaged walls from the moisture and also some mould. For the price of 50€ for an hour, only 2 saunas and a worn out "relaxation" room is way too high of a price. Breakfast is delicious but everything was served cold, even eggs and pancakes. The plates for breakfast are very small so you need to take plates from other tables in order to have more than one piece of bread. Overall, we loved the hotel for the views but for the price, we expected an overall better and more luxurious experience.

Staying at this amazing boutique hotel with my girlfriend Asta for 2 nights in June 2025. Such a gem this place is. A superb and very private resort it is. Views are incredible and we enjoyed a premium breakfast during our stay. A very good front desk staf, helpful and friendly. Would like to stay again for sure.

Gorgeous boutique hotel with a panoramic view of the lake and the mountains, staff exceptionally helpful and professional. Great location away from the tourists scene.. great restaurants on walking distance and to the honesty kitchen (with great selection of wines) was a bonus!

Great location. The rooms are nice but somewhat small and without wardrobes. However, they are very beautiful. The wellness area offers a stunning view, but they allow more visitors than the capacity (loungers), and the Finnish sauna doesn’t work as well as expected. Very hospitable staff and an excellent breakfast.
