We sat upstairs, they didn’t allow us sit in a place with good air conditioning so when you mix the heat with the noisy atmosphere, it was not great at first. Then they decided to move us to a better place and we were able to order sweetbreads, sheep intestine skewer, garlic prawns and fried eggplant. Intestines were really good. Sweetbread, not so much, it was ok. Prawns with garlic were really soft and not overcooked. I really liked the eggplant and the garlic prawn. If I start living in Madrid, I’d go there for the intestines once a week.

Honestly one of the best meals we had in Madrid. The food was insane, but the service somehow made it even better. We got greeted right away and sat down fast, and our server Victor was the nicest, funniest guy ever. He made the whole experience so fun. If you’re in Madrid, don’t skip.

Such a gem of a find. We first went to try the famous sizzling garlic prawns, and they didn’t disappoint! The anchovies marinated in vinaigrette were also such a delight! It was so good that we had to visit again another night.

A must-visit for authentic Madrileño tapas! Casa Toni serves up some incredible dishes you won't find everywhere else. On a scorching summer day, their Ensalada de Tomate was a lifesaver – perfectly crunchy, juicy, and incredibly refreshing. We paired it with an ice-cold, non-alcoholic beer and dove into their specialties. The Oreja a la Plancha (grilled pig's ear) was a textural delight – chewy with just the right amount of fat and a fantastic crispy exterior. For the adventurous, the Mollejas (lamb sweetbreads) are a must-try. As a first-timer, I was impressed by the perfect char. There was no hint of any undesirable flavor, just a surprisingly chicken-like texture with a subtle, pleasant bitterness. A truly unique and delicious experience!

If you’re looking for an unforgettable dining experience in Madrid, this traditional eatery in the city’s bustling center is an absolute gem. From the moment you step inside, you’re welcomed with warm hospitality, but what truly sets this place apart is the outstanding service from the bartender—undoubtedly the best! With its inviting atmosphere and exceptional service, this restaurant is more than just a meal; it’s an experience worth boasting about. Highly recommended—don’t miss it!

We came here several times on our recent trip to Madrid because all the food and sangria were really good. The staff were friendly and expedient every time. During their busy hours, there's usually a small line, but the wait isn't too bad and it's really worth it. The sweatbreads is a must try -- grilled perfectly, great chew, and so good, we ordered on two separate occasions. The gambas came out piping hot and garlicky, and the oil was great for dipping bread. The mixed meat platter was delicious, and a great way to sample the meat offerings if you want to try multiple things -- the portion is pretty large, and my favorite things on it were the blood sausage, ribs and chorizo. The braided lamb intestine had a really crispy outside with a juicy/chewy inside, with a clean intestine flavor (recommend if you're into organ meats!). The tripe stew was interesting -- the way they cooked it made it taste incredibly rich and fatty, very different to how Asian countries cook their tripe (less melty-fat and more spicy). The pigs' ears were grilled and tasted very gamey/fatty and soft, which is also very different to how many Asian countries cook it (good chew/slight crisp, without any gaminess) -- I'm glad I tried it to experience the cultural difference in food preparation (it tasted more gamey than anything else we tried, which surprised me). The cap mushrooms and patrons were both great to snack on, complimenting most of their other food and drinks. I loved their complimentary olives and finished every plate. Their sangria is really good and super cost friendly -- their jar option is huge. Love this place! Highly recommend if you're in Madrid.

Fantastic atmosphere, great food, quick service. The pig ears were a highlight! Highly recommend even if you have to wait. My best meal so far in Spain.

Google
This is a classic bar. Find a table or clear some space on the bar and enjoy something to drink with a dish or two. The Mollejas were excellent, the Pedron peppers were good, we were slightly disappointed with the shrimps. Overall I recommend this place.

Yelp
Really great place for tapas! Didn't seem like a tourist trap :) Tomato salad, boquerones, roasted mushrooms, patatas bravas all were great

Yelp
On a recommendation from fellow Yelper Ricardo J., we tried this place out. No surprise, he came through. Casa Toni was amazing. We stopped for a little wine, some tapas, and aast day experience here in Centro d Madrid. Our server was awesome. That guy was Johnny on the spot. He got us our drinks. He made recommendations when they didn't have what I wanted. It was nice. We got there at the right time just before 2 pm, and shortly after there were folks lined up. I enjoyed my glass of wine and ordered some tapas. I ordered the green peppers, the pork chops, and the calamari. The short order cook got straight to work on it because it didn't take long for them to come out one at a time. All of the tapas were great. I even ordered the chiciharron/pork belly and downed that as well. All of it was really good and I would recommend any of these. Thanks Ricardo for the primo recco. Fully double down on his recommendation to Casa Toni.

Yelp
Everything here was solid but nothing was exceptional. Calamari was pretty good, pork tasted great but was a little tough, patatas bravas were alright, shrimp was a little small and lacking salt. We were sat down and served quickly, food was decent and reasonably priced.

Dennis P.

Yelp
Went twice it was so good. Pigs ears, lamb sweetbreads, fried squid, papatas bravas, wine, sangria. All terrific and great vibe to restaurant.

Yelp
Wasn't able to get a seat on the main floor- got seated upstairs which was not nice for photos fyi. Vibe was lively, comfy and unpretentious. Service was great. Our server was friendly and made cheeky jokes. Ordered the patatas, calamari, blood sausage, mushrooms, sweetbreads, pigs ears and sangria pitcher. Nobody liked the blood sausage-just awful. Patatas were ok-just as expected. I would pass if wanting to try something new. Mushrooms and pigs ears were tasty. I didn't eat the sweetbreads, but my sister said they were delicious. She said they would have been even better if they were crispier. I thought the same about the pigs ears. Missed trying their famous pepper-next time! Recommended.

Yelp
The hype is real at this very popular hole in the wall, which we heard about on some YouTube foodie videos. From what our server Lorena told us, it never slows down here. It is super small and it gets packed, but with some flexibility and patience you can enjoy a great meal here. We tried the anchovies in vinegar, grilled sweetbreads, blood sausage, and spicy potatoes. All of them were delicious and full of flavor. Thank you, James Blick of Spain Revealed and food blogger Mark Wiens for recommending pairing the anchovies with the sweetbreads. They complement each other perfectly - the tanginess of the anchovies blending with the milkiness and flavor of the sweetbreads. The blood sausage was incredible - not too irony, and with a great texture from the other fillings. The spices were good and not too overpowering. It reminded us of haggis - which is one of my favorite foods ever. Finally, the patatas bravas were also a hit. The sauce was a little spicy but nothing crazy - the potatoes were perfectly cooked and seasoned. For the food and service you can't go wrong here - good luck finding a seat or place to stand - but just know that this destination is definitely worth the journey.

Yelp
Arrived just before 13:50 on a weekday in November 2023. Left around 15:15. They were so packed. I had a party of two, and we waited in quite a queue to get seated. Actually, we did not "sit". We had to stand at the bar for over an hour while eating. We ordered braided lamb intestines, tripe, pig ear, and jarrita beer. I will not be getting the braided lamb intestines again. It was so bitter. Even my eating partner who doesn't mind innards was like never again! Tripe was ok. It was just such a large portion of this. I would recommend sharing this between at least two to three people. Pig ear was ok. In hindsight, I needed a plate of something other than unusual meats to balance out the meal. The beer was not enough. They accepted credit card payment. There is seating upstairs. Bathroom is also upstairs. Despite this place being frequented by locals, the food is not for me. Service was also not good due to being so packed. One poor lady running like a chicken without a head on the first floor between the kitchen and the dining area. Another lady carrying trays and walking up and down the stairs to serve upstairs guests.

Yelp
This was our first meal on our Europe trip and the first meal in Madrid. I'm glad we stopped here because the food was decently priced and delicious. We ended up getting potatoes, tomato salad, and shrimp and garlic sauce. This place is a simple no frills restaurant with not a lot of seats in the front but I think there is an upstairs but we were only sitting in the front at the counter. The service was prompt and the food came out fairly quickly. If you're in the area and craving simple tapas, I would recommend this place.

Yelp
This is a hole in the wall that all visitors should never miss! Most of their customers are locals so you can tell that it's a good restaurant. Every single food we ordered tasted so good and perfectly cooked. Portion is generous. The gambas were salty but not irritating. The chilis were generally not spicy. Only one piece was spicy, which to my standards is just mild. On any given day, the place is always crowded and noisy. Due to very limited seats, be prepared to eat standing up. Otherwise, you can wait for a table to be free, which may take a while. There are tables upstairs as well, but I'm sure it's just as crowded as downstairs. They close at 4:30 pm and reopen at 7:00 pm. They accept cash, credit cards, or contact less payment, which is convenient. I would definitely come back next time.
google avatar

Mark N.

Yelp
Some of the food was very good and some was barely edible. The Chopitos and anchovies in vinegar were very good. The fried anchovies should be avoided and the garlic shrimp were just okay. The service was fine, but it is a small space and not enough staff. Loud and crowded at all times.
google avatar

Jason W.

Yelp
This place was highly recommended online so I was excited to try this place. The food did not disappoint. Roasted pig ear was good and I was a big fan of the braised lamb intestine. Lastly the marinated anchovies in vinegar was a perfect compliment.

Yelp
Seven of us ate upstairs. Get there within an hour of opening if you are not interested in exiting on line. Let's see, grilled sardines/not marinaded Mussels Spicy potatoes Chorizo Bread Something else lol Something else lol and something else I don't do sardines and the others emptied the plate. Nothing left on any plates NOTHING not even a drop of sauce/gravy/oil Free glasses of wine for 3 Couple of darling mineral waters (gas) Under $90 with tip Can't be beat just go

Yelp
Very simple and delicious food. The pig ears and the sweet bread are a hit. The braided lamb intestine was amazing too. Fantastic service. Place gets crowded, so you know it's good

Yelp
Best place in Madrid for authentic Spanish tapas. The reviews are excellent and they are right on target. Rick Steves also featured it in one of his videos. Located in the heart of the city, just steps from the Sol Metro. Its in the middle of Calle de la Cruz and there's always a crowd. It's super casual and there's seating upstairs and downstairs. I was lucky the night I was there, to get a couple of seats at the high top watching the owner cook. Fresh olives and bread were brought to the table just moments after we sat down. We ordered chorizo and it was one of the best I've had. Crispy on the outside it was flavorful and the portion was big. Grilled Squid was light and tender, Shrimp tapas were good too. They're famous for Pig Ear, but I had to pass on that. Sangria paired perfectly with our food and we were given a shot of port before we left. Service was excellent, customers were friendly and it was a highlight of our trip.

Yelp
Food was excellent! I had the grilled sweetbreads and papas bravas, along with an Águila Dorada beer. Very good! But halfway through my meal, I added lemon to the sweetbreads and it changed the taste of the meal. Try without the lemon to get the full flavor of the sweetbreads!

Yelp
Casa Toni's is a Madrid spot you need to stop by and eat. I feel like it is quintessentially Spanish. It's a small hole in the wall restaurant with yummy tapas and friendly staff. We waited for a little bit as a big crowd went in ahead of us but I think they have more room upstairs. We got a small table downstairs which was perfect for our four tapas. We got the pig ears, sardines, tomatoes and mushroom. My favorite was the fried sardines. Very salty and crispy and overall delicious. The mushrooms were a tad on the salty side but you get plenty of lemon wedges to offset that. The tomatoes are just better in Spain! My least favorite was the pig ears. While I liked the flavor and the sauce, I just wish all the pieces were crispy! Some pieces were too fatty and gelatinous which I know is normal but I'm used to more tendon and less mushy fat. It was tasty though, flavor wise. Overall an excellent lunch!

Yelp
Casa Toni was one of the best places my wife and I visited in Spain. We found out about it on the Spain Revealed channel un YouTube. A great channel you should subscribe to on YouTube. A guy from New Zealand married a Spainard and does great videos. We checked into our hotel and were at Case Toni within 30 minutes. A small place and I ordered the Sweet Breads. I should have got a half ration, but they are AMAZING! They taste like chicken with a little bit of liver flavor in it. I HATE liver, but this is just a super subtle flavoring. You have to get these! The service was great and I saw the cook about six hours later and he recognized me and gave me a head nod. Very cool. The place is right near a lot of the action in Madrid. Please try this place out and go out of your comfort zone.

Yelp
We felt very comfortable at Casa Toni as soon as we stepped inside. We were greeted and seated right away. Even though we spoke little Spanish the staff were very kind and helpful. The place is decorated with bullfighting photos that reflect a very long history. Casa Toni is a family owned tapas bar and you feel like family there. We had such a good experience our first time, we went back for our last night in Madrid. We loved the potatas bravos, the house chorizo, tomato salad, grilled mushrooms and steamed mussels! Everything was perfectly cooked and we will be sure to visit Casa Toni when we are back in Madrid.

Yelp
Delicious spot, 10/10 recommend! Went for dinner with my family. The service was fantastic, food came fast and they were so patient with us ordering as non-spanish speakers. We got the pig ears, green peppers, and pork ribs-- cannot recommend the pig ears enough I am dreaming about it right now. The quality and price cannot be beat!! And the environment was very peaceful, it felt like we were in a small nook of the city. We felt bad because we finished pretty late and were the last customers, but they were still so friendly. Do a service to yourself and come here!

Yelp
Delicious pigs ear and calamari. Quick and friendly service. It's a nice place to grab a quick bite and drink with friends.

Yelp
Excellent, intimate tapas spot in Madrid near Sol, their orejas (pig's ear) and other offal selections shine! PLANNING / HOW WE HEARD ABOUT CASA TONI: Heard about this spot from its excellent online reviews, from Rick Steves, from James Blick on YouTube, from a friend who lived in Madrid. I love offal and the fact this was a famous casquería specializing in offal sealed the deal. Thus, we had it on our list early on in our trip planning, and it lives up to the hype! ARRIVING / GETTING A TABLE: Centrally located within walking distance of Sol Metro station, easy to find (probably there's a line). You can also peek at the ingredients through the window - fresh orejas anyone? On a Saturday evening at 21:30, stood in line for our party of 3 (requested a table) for about 30 minutes before getting a small table near the entrance. SERVICE / AMBIANCE / ORDERING: One server for the evening, a few chefs grilling up la planchas nearby. They are busy throughout the evening! Perfect spot to catch up over some cañas of beer or copas of sangria. Our table didn't have seats but we were fine with standing, there are also sit-down tables and seats at the bar too. There seems to be a back room or lower room for additional tables as well. We were given an English menu, but there are also chalkboard menus up on the walls if your Spanish is up to snuff! Food took some time (20+ minutes) on a busy Saturday evening but that's easily dealt with with good company and good drinks :) FOOD: OREJA A LA PLANCHA (pork ears): A must-have. Upon first taste we knew this was something we can only get in Spain. I am Taiwanese and love a good marinated pig ear but these are in another whole different league! They are grilled, not stewed, and come out hot and just slightly charred. The cartilage "crunch" is mild and almost like an al dente quality, and surrounded by this sweet and tender fattiness with the scent of the grill on the lightly crispy edges. It comes with a dollop of orange slightly spicy sauce at one side of the plate and the orejas are generously cut. RIÑONES DE CORDERO A LA PLANCHA (kidneys): Excellent and the best kidneys I've had, soft and garlicky without any graininess and savory. Even one of us who has never liked the taste of kidney said these were the best he's had. BERENJENAS (fried eggplant): These were my dining partners' second favorite thing on the menu, and one of them disliked eggplant before coming to Casa Toni and now has had his opinions changed drastically! They were cut in sliced quarters, fried, slightly green and lovely. There didn't seem to be extra batter anywhere and these were just addictive. MORCILLA DE LA CASA (blood sausage): thickly sliced, richly colored and richly flavored. Perfect seasoning and deeply savory and filling! GAMBAS EN AJILLO (shrimp in garlic): these were OK, nice and garlicky and plenty of oil to sop up with your bread. SUMMARY: One of our favorite tapas experiences in Madrid that easily lives up to the hype. Get the orejas when you go!

Yelp
If you only have time to try tapas at one place I would go for this one. We are doing own tapas outing and tried the patatas bravas and champiñones- both excellent.

Yelp
More authentic/traditional Spanish food Got the following: Pig ear with spicy sauce: 4 stars, I can't believe that I liked this dish but I did. It's a textural hill to overcome by the flavor was wonderful especially with some bread (and wine). Would get again! Mussels: 4 stars, delicious and fresh. Loved the sauce. Would definitely get again. Got another pork dish and we were so full by the time we got it that we forgot about it. Can't comment on it honestly. Enough very promising outcomes that it is worth the wait and worth trying again!

Yelp
A friend in Seville recommended to me Casa Toni, and I am glad that I had a chance to visit it while staying a couple of days in Madrid. The place is close to Puerta del Sol, the Sun Gate, and is closed in the afternoon between lunch and dinner. I went there around 8pm, and it was fully packed. I passed by the place again around 10pm after a long "paseo" walk and was able to find a spot inside at the counter. The staff were attentive and friendly, and I liked the ambiance which appeared to be authentic (to a tourist). I enjoyed a beer on tap and a couple of glasses of the Spanish red wines written on a blackboard, Also tried a couple of small plates, a chicken liver tapas and a fried green pepper, and both were excellent.

Aaron J.

Yelp
An absolute must stop in Madrid. We went with a tapas tour and had a great meal and experience.
google avatar

Audrey H.

Yelp
Atmosphere was 10/10, very friendly staff. Shop is, however, small- so prepare to wait and don't expect seating. Food was good, do try their pig ears! Personally, I didnt like the lamb intestines as it was very salty (tasted more like meat than intestines).
google avatar

Mark S.

Yelp
Must-visit tapas bar while you're in Madrid. We ate late (for us Americans) at 9:30pm and the place was packed. A table opened up fairly quickly. We ordered sangria, lamb sweetbreads, patatas and garlic prawns in oil. The patatas were nice and crisp, the sweetbreads were tender and the prawns were good although quite small. More seating upstairs.
google avatar

Yelp
Food was great! Highly recommend this place! Excellent service from Victor and Heidi!

Yelp
This spot is as good as people say - tasty tapas, large portions, friendly (and English-speaking!) service, and located right in the center of Madrid. We ordered: * pig ears - really good! Surprisingly tender * sweetbreads (I think these are specifically lamb sweetbreads? Not sure) - the highly lauded sweetbreads were interesting and not bad, and I'm glad I tried them. I wouldn't order them again since they have that strong taste of organ meat. Plus no one else at the table was daring enough to help eat them :') * pimientos/peppers - really good! exactly what you would expect; not bitter like some others * sangria - solid * revueltas/mix of egg, chorizo, potato - tasty! This was our server's favorite item on the menu - would order again Also appreciated the little free tapa of olives and cornichons. Overall, definitely worth a stop if you're in the area! And come early because this place is veeery popular.
google avatar

Ana D.

Yelp
Service is very slow- slower that other Spanish restaurants. It took a while for the waiter to even come to our table and provide menus. The food was very good: the huevos rotos were the best we had on our trip and the grilled squid was light but flavorful. Would recommend.
google avatar

Peter P.

Yelp
Best local tapas for Oreja a la plancha (pig ears). We have pig ears with prawns in oil and garlic, fried green chilli (pimientos de pardon), berenjenas de la casa (fried eggplant with honey) and sangria as the companion. A great joint and local patrons.
google avatar

Caitlin R.

Yelp
Loved this place. By the time we left Madrid, I'd like to think we mastered the art of eating Tapas. We stopped in here to grab a snack and try the local flavors. We got a table upstairs in the window and ordered with our eyes rather than our stomach. We ordered shishito peppers, gazpacho, calamari, mushrooms (I forget which one), and the eggplant. Bread was served with it as well, which was 1 Euro. 4 of us dined, and our bill was 44 Euro. The portions were big, and we all left full. For 4 Americas for booze and food, we ended up paying around 10 Euro EACH! Unheard of in America. We enjoyed trying the fried eggplant with balsamic honey, but the star of the show were the mushrooms. The flavor was perfect, and with the squirt of lemon over them, really elevated the final flavor. Great spot. Great people. I will be back!

Yelp
This is part of the underbelly of the dining scene in Madrid...the kind of place that is nondescript on the outside and serves a lot of offal on the inside. My short summary is: Real satisfaction. After eating eating here, God can just take me now. It is a little hard to find within the warren of small streets just west of the Puerto del Sol where so many great authentic tapas taverns are. Look for the red overhead awning and the least flashy storefront on the street. I actually walked by it a couple times without even realizing it. Go early and go often. Belly up to the bar if there is room, grab one of the few tables in the front room or head upstairs to the dining salon for a seat. Don't miss all the interesting, haphazard knick knacks and photos on the walls and all over the room. I got lucky and went early and sat right by la plancha where I got to watch the guy cook and prep which is good entertainment for the single traveler. Beer and wine seem to be the norms for most but there is also tap vermouth available and for the outsider like me, if your Spanish is minimal, pointing and looking pathetically hungry seems to get the job done. There is a menu they might hand you with English in it that is helpful and it does not advertise 1/2 order portions that some have commented on which would be a great way to sample several things if you are small in number. From an American perspective (because we all know that we entitled, Imperialistic colonists believe it is all about us), this is a place where timid eaters and vegetarians will protest. Reading their tapas list is like going through a copy of the Greatest Hits of Offal if there was one. Pig's ears, Veal Sweetbreads, Tripe, Lamb Intestines, Blood Sausage to name a few, will be perceived by the uninitiated as things to find in a little shop of horrors instead of a restaurant. For my first visit, I ordered Pig's Ears griddled on the flat top (orejas a la plancha) and Blood Sausage (morcilla) which was house made and softly jiggling in the glass case at the bar, sliced before my eyes by the barman and promptly treated to a sauna in the deep fryer resulting in a crispy outer texture with a soft and deeply tasty center. So satisfying in a primal kind of way. But the orejas simply stole the show. It has the fatty mouthfeel of bacon and a deeply porky taste which was heavily seasoned is finished with a hit of housemade smooth red salsa that is a bit caliente in just the right way to cut through the richness. And every once in a while, you get the benefit of a cartilaginous crunch that make eating ears so great. This was, perhaps, one of the best dishes I have ever had. Primal, satisfying, made to order in front of me, and super tasty. A useful tip if you are alone or with one other person: On the laminated menu you will be handed, all of the prices reflect full "racione" portions and there is no indication that they can do smaller "media" portions. On my 2nd visit, I asked and they will do it and charge half price. That way you can order within your appetite or if there are 2 of you, you can try more items instead of loading up on just 1 or 2 things. Because I did not know this on my first visit, I had too much food, I shared with some people around me and they shared their Sweetbreads with me which were also delicious, creamy and well-seasoned. I thought they were going to have to call the fire department to extricate me out of my seat at the bar because I was so full and could not move afterwards! My 2nd visit I did half portions of fried anchovies (boquerones frito) and fried Padron peppers. Both excellent and simple choices washed down with a tap vermouth. Can't say enough good things about this spot. Bravo to Casa Toni! Their tapas and uniqueness are definitely one of the best things I have found to love about Madrid.

Yelp
Casa Toni was an excellent tapas spot near the heart of Madrid. Every dish we had was mouthwatering and at a reasonable price and portion. I highly recommend the meat plater and the mollecas (?). Service was excellent, food was excellent so definitely make a stop here next time you're in Madrid

Yelp
Doesn't seem like much when you first walk in and the staff isn't the most chatty but you're a tourist looking for good eats and drinks at a great value so why do you care? The menu is in Spanish and English and the specials and highlights are on the wall. With any order you'll be greeted with a small snack, the highlights for us were the sweetbreads, pig ears and chorizo. It's super casual, super affordable and super tasty. If it looks full there is a small dining area upstairs so don't hesitate to walk in. Credit cards accepted.

Yelp
Came here for some tapas and had the sweetbread and shrimp in oil. Both were absolutely phenomenal. Very simple but very very good. Prices and service were great as well!

Yelp
Casa Toni is located in a busy-ish area of Madrid. You'll find many restaurants to choose from at higher price points but Casa Toni is the ]spot for an affordable meal or snack. This little restaurant (recommended by Anthony Bourdain) was cozy and just what we were looking for. When seated we were greeted with a complimentary plate of fried anchovies. This was a pleasant surprise as we were going to order these anyways. These were delicious with just the right amount of crisp and salt. We then got a couple glasses of sangria and munched on the recommended sheep intestines. This isn't for everyone. It's a gritty, game-y taste but perfectly golden fried. A definite spot to check out with unique dishes.

Yelp
Great service. Very local and cute place. Love the food. Came back twice. The price is local. Not touristy priced. Did I mention the service? Excellent. The food? Yummy. Will come back again.

Yelp
Excellent service, food and ambiance. Will definitely come back again! Good price

Yelp
A must-visit while in Madrid! Fantastic tapas, reasonable prices - what more could you want :) Highly recommend the championes a la plancha (grilled mushrooms), boquerones en vinagre (sardines soaked in vinegar and drizzled with olive oil), and the mollejas (sweet breads). I was in Madrid for less than a week and ate here a total of three times!

One of the best Tapas places is Madrid. We ate their shrimp, blood sausage, spicy sausage, peppers, as well as some drinks, (Vermouth). I was impressed with everything their service their food quality and the price affordability. I will definitely go back for more.

Yelp
Of all the restaurants I have been in Madrid, this one is clearly my favorite, in virtually all aspects (quality, quantity, customer service, and price). If you're looking for an authentic Spanish experience, from plates, to tapas, and to drinks - look no further, this is it! However, since the portions were surprisingly bigger than what I expected, I would suggest coming here with a group and ordering various plates. Olé! I'll be back here for sure!

Yelp
It's a small place but don't let the size fool you! They serves many kinds of intestinal dishes, my stomach is satisfied! With this price I can come every week :)

Yelp
One of the best meals in all of Madrid. Slightly off the beaten path about a 30 minute walk from the main attractions in plaza mayor but definitely worth the trip. A great menu of traditional tapas but they're specially is the odd bits and pieces of head to tail cooking. Grilled crispy yet tender pig ears. Juicy sweet breads with lemon. Fried baby squid is the best calamari ever. Liver, kidney, and onions, yes. Owner is super friendly and definitely a local crowd filtering in and out for lunch. As a bonus it's also located across the street from one of the oldest shops specializing in custom capes.

Yelp
I was really disappointed that the fried anchovies had their heads chopped off. The best anchovies I've had in Greece and Rome always kept their heads. However, when I bit into Casa Toni's anchovies, it's as if all was right in the world again. Their version, although headless is lightly breaded but oh so crunchy and scrumptious. The husband and I ordered tripe, braided lamb intestines, mussels, tomatoes, all washed down with Sangria. Simply prepared but oh so delicious. None of the dishes were complicated. One to four ingredients at the most but so flavorful. The staff were friendly and very attentive. The top area had 8 tables but only one waiter. None of us had any complaints. Food seemed to just magically appear. Daniel is superior waiter!! If you are in Madrid, make sure to try Casa Toni. Authentic Spanish tapas in the midst of tourist attractions yet is able to keep true to its Spanish roots

Yelp
So good! If you're looking for a cheap tapas place that will fill you up, Casa Toni's is the way to go. Portions are generous. Food is tasty but not overly salty or saturated in oil. Service is very friendly. I don't think they spoke any English, so brush up that high school Spanish! All in all, I'm so glad we stumbled upon Casa Toni's for our last meal. It's been surprisingly difficult to find cheap tapa places that actually taste good. My husband and I ordered 4 dishes and we were STUFFED! Menu: -green peppers: one of the best I've had during my week in Spain. -pig ears: soooo good. They were cooked to a crispy perfection! They are heavy so I would recommend getting veggies to balance it out. -patatas bravas: slightly crispy, red sauce was the perfect amount of flavor and taste. Potatoes were actually slightly crispy (this has been shockingly difficult to find in Spain). -anchovies in vinegar: the vinegar is VERY strong, but otherwise tasty dish. Unfortunately our waiter forgot to make this last dish for us until we finished the first three. If all four dishes came out at the same time, the flavors would have been amazing!!

Yelp
We loved, loved this restaurant. It's tiny but it's definitely the best food we had in Madrid. It's the kitchen downstairs, a bar counter with no more than 4 stools and maybe three small tables but it also has a saloon with a few more tables and restrooms upstairs. Friendly service and staple dishes like the "Zarajos" o "mollejas de cordero" that are hard to find this days specially in touristic areas but also in more upscale restaurants, those specially have a very strong and gamy taste, so decide if you're taking the risk, but even the olives you have to try if you never had "aceitunas marinadas"they're like no olives you've tried before. Believe me, we always travel with my husband who's a foodie and lived in Spain for more than 20 years.

Yelp
The chorizo was outstanding, as were the potatoes brava. Service is great. Prices are reasonable for a Madrid.

Yelp
Overrated! Not sure why YouTube vloggers would highly recommend this but we think it's just above average home cooking that's overhyped hence the crowd.
