Slightly disappointed with the food. We asked for the “feijoada” and the beef stew with vegetables and it didn’t taste fresh at all. Maybe was the time as we went there in the afternoon, but we had the impression that it was made a day or two before, even with the owner saying it was fresh and made daily. Maybe we just got unlucky and were served what left and stayed in the pot the whole day, overcooked and losing it’s freshness. Either way, it was not even hot, just mild temperature. We also did not get the sauté kale that is part of the plate. The service was good and fast, as a positive feedback. Not pricey, but the experience was not enough to consider a second visit.

This was an amazing experience! Really good and original Brazilian food ❤️ Coxinha with side of garlic mayonnaise was incredibly tasty! Feijoada was well seasoned, good portion, and a perfect temperature. Typical sides didn't disappoint! Desserts were soooo tasty! Sweet and for sure took us back to Brazil for a moment! We had no time to take a picture of the feijoada because it was smelling so good, we just wanted to start eating 🙂 The owner, Leandro was super kind and present all the time. For sure made this experience even pleasant! The only sad part is that you are too far away from our home..... please let us know if you are considering opening something more to the north 🙏 It sure worth the travel.

Tasty food, clean and welcoming environment! We were very well attended. The food was well seasoned and a great size. We ordered a feijoada which was delicious! My daughters loved the farofa and the kale! My husband ordered a chicken parmigiana and it was juicy! We highly recommend it!

This restaurant is absolutely delicious! The service is excellent, the food is wonderful, and the dessert is beyond words. My husband ordered the chicken parmigiana, and I had the shrimp pie — both dishes were beautifully presented and full of flavor. To top it all off, the Brazilian pudding for dessert was pure perfection. If I could give it a thousand stars, I would!

I had an incredible time at this Brazilian restaurant. The picanha was absolutely delicious juicy and cooked perfectly. The feijoada was rich, just the way it should be! I loved the fresh rice, tasty farofa, and all the little sides that made the meal feel like a real taste of Brazil. It was a complete Brazilian experience from start to finish. Great food. I totally recommend this place if you want to try authentic Brazilian flavors.

Went to pick up food for my girlfriend who lived in Brazil as a child. And the staff was generous and kind. He even took the time to explain how to use/ what sauces are for what. They even made an effort to even tell me where I can go get other Brazilian goods. The food was delicious and authentic. The man that served me completely made my day. And the handmade farofa was amazing. Will be coming again.

I came here with my girlfriend and the food was amazing and the service was great! We ordered Feijoada and Strogonoff and they were delicious.

Visited this lovely Brazilian restaurant serving home-cook style meal. I was there with my Brazilian friend, and she recommended Brazilian Feijoada (with pork) and Mini Coxinhas (with chicken) as very famous dishes in Brazil. Both were so delicious and comforting. I also ordered Chicken Strogonoff and Mini Cheese Balls as my favourite. Absolutely delicious! It was such a hearty meal, and their staff were very kind. It was quiet when we visited on Monday around 6pm, but the staff says it gets busier during day time with UofT students. Decoration was bright and pleasant. They do catering too, and you can also purchase frozen chicken croquette and cheese bread on site.

I have only ordered from them online. Definitely, a different experience in person. I ordered the classic Pao de quejo which for me was very dry and chalky. He had taken them from the window display which I'm not sure if that helped this favourite of mine. The feijoida was tasty but in the images they came with oranges and I didn't say anything when I didn't have mine with my order but again a little disappointed. It is my other favourite Brazilian dish and just as I had in Brazil I expected them with this traditional side. That being said, it tasted like feijoida this made me happy.

unfortunately, I didn't get to eat and try the food after reading the reviews. I'm OK with not having ate there. I walked in there with a great attitude looking forward to try some food. The rotisserie chicken on the window looks really good but when I ordered, he said he was out. I asked him what other meat he had and he rudely said he had no meat I asked if he had plantains and said Brazilians don't eat plantains I felt challenged just being in there with his stinky attitude attitude was poor like most places so I decided to just walk out Reading the reviews I guess he's on and off I wish people that had food services would treat everybody kind. Had I ordered my rice and peas and chicken I would've went there at least once a week this summer. I love trying new places and giving new places a chance, but the customer service is extremely poor. that was most likely the owner as well. I guess he doesn't need business and his business is going super well as he told me he sells a lot of this stuff when I asked if it was good.

Muito gostoso! The food, dessert, and service were amazing. The restaurant is very cute inside as well.

I am immensely disappointed with the taste and the service of the place, how can something so easy be ruined so badly? i wish to never even smell this food again. the worst service yet in ontario. disappointed till my core.

The mini lemon tart had a good lemon flavour & was rich & creamy. Had it the day after, which might have been why the crumb was not short. The shrimp pie wasn't so good. The interior was creamy & the crumb ok but the filling had a bitter edge. Granted I had it 3 days later but it looked & smelled ok & the other mini lemon tart I had on the same day was still good, so this was probably its intended taste.

I tried the Chicken Croquette (Coxinha). It was excellent and the service was very cordial. I will definitely visit again to try some of the other offerings. Recommended!

Salad bar, I got it with fish. The fish was a bit overcooked (deep fried) and pretty thin. But the salad bar ingredients were fairly fresh, I got a good size helping and the price is reasonable. Wanted to try the Feijoada (Brazilian bean stew) but they ran out by noon.

Very kind owner! Prepared my heart-of-palm pie by hand on the spot, which was lovely. I went late in the evening, when a lot of his items were out, but he encouraged me to return and try other items on his menu. Either way, feel free to strike up a conservation with him, he's clearly passionate about Brazilian food.

Casa Tropical is a small eatery located west of Little Italy, serving healthy fare. Their menu consists of salad bowls, protein bowls, sandwiches, sweets and traditional Brazilian dishes. Vegan option available. In my first visit I had the Fish Fillet Protein Bowl (large fish fillet, brown rice with lentils, salad). The serving size was big, the ingredients were fresh, a bit bland, more flavor would have benefited this dish. In my second visit I tried their Feijoada, a traditional Brazilian stew of beans and pork (black beans with smoked sausage, bacon and pork cuts, served with white rice, kale, vinaigrette and cassava flour). The bean stew was tasty, the serving size was good for two people, and I love that they included vinaigrette as one of the sides, in addition to the traditional rice, kale and cassava flour. For take out, the container used leaked the contents; it will be nice if the restaurant switches to a leak-proof container. Service is friendly. The area is served by TTC line 506. Street parking available. TLDR; good service, healthy salad and protein bowls, selection of Brazilian dishes available daily

It's a great place to go if tou want to try a good Brazilian feijoada. Besides feijoada, I also love other specialties they have. Fresh and tasty food. Friendly customer service. I definitely recommend this place.

We ordered lunch here via Ritual and it was fantastic! The portions were incredible, and the food was so fresh and flavourful. My chicken sandwich was on a fresh Portuguese baguette, with cheese, greens and sauce and was so so great. Everyone loved their food, and the ladies running it were really lovely. Oh- and of course get the Brigadero ;)

Casa Tropical is an absolutely wonderful eatery, My family and I had the meal of the day and it was incredible! The meatball sub that I decided on was mouth-wateringly delicious; A plethora of meatballs, savory and delicious cheeses, and a perfectly crisp bun to tie it all together. The portions were also fantastically plentiful for the price, I'll be eating it my leftovers for lunch tomorrow! I cant wait! I would absolutely recommend this establishment to my friends!
