House Vasari in Arezzo is a great spot for anyone who loves art and history. It was the home of Giorgio Vasari, a key figure in the Renaissance who was a painter, architect, and writer. Inside, you can see rooms decorated with his beautiful frescoes, giving a sense of 16th-century style. Highlights include Vasari's studio, the Hall of Fame with portraits of famous people, and a large collection of his drawings and sketches. Visiting the house gives you a close-up look at Vasari's life and work, making it a must-see in Arezzo.

Que bella, questa casa! Beautiful house of multitalent Giorgio Vasari, artist, architect, author! A miracle that these frescoes on ceilings and paintings - from the Renaissance ! - remained intact. Impressive, admission price of 4 Euros I found very fair. Be sure to check availability (and ideally reserve) as only few people are allowed in at one time. The presentation of information could be better, a bit more modern. But: great museum!

The Arezzo home of the 16th Century artist/art historian Vasari. Approx 5 decorated rooms and a terrace garden. At July 23 entrance was €5. Interesting in itself but more so if you have in interest in high renaissance art. Would take somewhere between 30 mins and an hour to go round.

The historical house of the artist and art historian Giorgio Vasari. Very small but beautiful rooms with frescoes in the ceiling, especially notable the one with with the arts depicted (music, sculpture, painting and architecture) and the main one with the fireplace. In the latter there is a central depiction of the allegory of virtue, fortune and envy (virtù, fortuna e invidia). Depending from which side of the room you are looking the painting a different one of the three seems victorious! On the walls fire (on the fireplace side) with a city in flame and abundace on the opposite (with a city flooded).

the house can be visited separately or in a ticket combined with the church of san francesco. the visit lasts 30 minutes. you only visit one floor and the garden of the house. in the house you can see frescoes painted by Vasari and other painters from that period. The house is well preserved. Vasari, painter, architect and Italian art historian, became famous through his work: "The lives of the most renowned Italian architects, painters and sculptors, from Cimabue to our times." Giorgio Vasari was born on July 30, 1511 in Arezzo. In the year 1550 the first edition of the work to which Vasari's reputation is linked appears: "Vite de 'più eccellenti architetti, pittori et scultori italiani da Cimabue insino a' TEMPOS", in which he orders the materials collected since 1540 on the life and works great artists. During this period he meets Michelangelo, who advises him to also deal with architecture. In 1568 the second edition of his capital work of art history "Vite de 'più eccellenti ..." appears, enriched with new materials and which constitutes to this day an indispensable source of documentation in this field. In 1554 he settled in Florence, invited by the Duke Cosimo I de 'Medici, who hired him for urban and architectural works. It begins with the restructuring of the old palace ("Palazzo Vecchio"), then continues with the construction of the administrative building "Palazzo degli Uffizi", which will be completed only in 1580, after his death, and which will later become the famous art gallery. In 1563 he begins the great frescoes for the decoration of the "di Cinquecento" salon in Palazzo Vecchio, and in 1565 he begins to build the so-called "Corridoio vasariano" ("The Vasarian Corridor"), which unites Palazzo Vecchio with Palazzo Pitti, crossing the Arno river over Ponte Vecchio, which should serve as a refuge for the ducal family in case of need.

The house of Vasari is a nice museum, with mainly paintings and frescoes from Vasari himself. There is also the garden, which is very nice. Definitely a very nice museum .

Beautiful little collection of paintings , dreamy painted ceilings / frescoes in sixteenth century artist Giorgio Vasaris home (which he bought in 1541) On display there were just four small rooms (on the first floor) plus a pretty walled garden, so you can easily fit this visit into a morning in Arezzo even if you just have a spare half an hour or so. €5 was a fair price for a little aesthetic satisfaction, but I had imagined more than one floor would be open to view and that the layout would be set up as his original home would have been (the kitchen , the boudoir, the living room etc) however that was a total assumption I made up in my head before hand . I didn’t book online but was lucky there were no other people inside when I arrived so I was allowed straight in. They do recommended booking as they only have certain time slots and are apparently closed Tuesdays! July 2023.
