This is a nice small hotel in Guadalajara, walking distance to the church and food trucks and stands nearby. The food there is excellent and very cheap, lots of choices too. Not too far from the Guadalajara city center and quick taxi drive away from charming town of Tlaquepaque. The breakfast is very basic but Wi-Fi works quite well. My shower barely worked tho, so that was no bueno. Otherwise nice and charming hotel, cheap and close to good food and shops.

A small, very old hotel. Although they provide breakfast, it’s nothing to write home about. The doors and locking mechanisms are very quirky. The bathroom door didn’t latch or lock. The bathroom had an open ceiling to the adjoining room’s bathroom. Could hear everything that went on when our neighbors went to the bathroom. Although staff did come and make bed, bathroom was not cleaned and no new towels provided. No seating in rooms, no hand towels, although there was ample closet and dresser space. The hotel’s front door is locked at all times and that is the hotel’s biggest attribute. The location offers few restaurants, bars or shopping for tourists. I did not book this hotel, as it was provided by a tour agency. I would never choose it independently, nor would I recommend it.

This hotel was chosen by G Adventures Tour company for our trip. We had room 1 with a king bed and 2 singles. It was very basic. Small bathroom, very narrow, very cramped, even the toilet seat faced the wall, and there was almost no leg room and I'm only 5'5". There was a medium sized hole in the bottom of the shower glass door, and a very rusty shower caddy. No shelf to put toiletry bag, but a very shallow medicine cabinet. There was a ceiling fan, and the AC works. There are only sheets, and coverlet no blanket. Lots of cabinets for your clothes. Noisy by the street, as this room is beside the front door. There are bars on the windows. It's a few blocks from Expiatorio Park where there is a church and street food. But it's not near Centro. Self serve breakfast buffet includes eggs, fruit, cereal, bread. There is a big seating area between the lobby and kitchen area. I would not recommend this hotel. Some of my group had toilets that weren't flushing, some lights didn't turn on, cold showers, weird door locks, keys didn't have room numbers on them. Reception is 24/7

From the moment you arrive, You will be captivated by the hotel's warm and inviting ambiance. The staff welcomed me with genuine hospitality, making me feel like a valued guest. The hotel's intimate size created a sense of tranquility and privacy, allowing for a truly relaxing stay.||||The rooms at this Mexican hotel were beautifully decorated, showcasing a blend of traditional elements and modern comfort. The attention to detail was evident in the choice of vibrant colors, locally inspired artwork, and carefully curated furnishings. The cozy and well-appointed rooms provided a peaceful haven after a day of exploration.

This hostel has an excelent and beautiful ambience, true to the pictures. The interior design was wonderfully coloful and reminds its guests everyday that they're in beautiful Guadalajara, it truly created a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere. The common areas were thoughtfully decorated, providing a nice space to relax and socialize with fellow guests and local friends made along the way. Another aspect that I appreciated was the staff's exceptional level of friendliness and eagerness to help. From the moment I arrived, I was warmly welcomed despite being late due a delay at the airport. The staff were almost always available to answer my questions or to provide recommendations about things to do locally and dining options that weren't always the typical tourist trap. I noticed that cleanliness was one of their top priorities at this hostel. The rooms, bathrooms, and common areas were always maintained. I appreciated the efforts made by the staff to ensure a hygienic environment for all guests. However, despite all the good, I cannot in good faith leave a review without mentioning some hiccups. I did encounter a few issues during my time here. One of the downsides was the unexpected room change for me. Despite having made a reservation in advance, I was asked to switch rooms three times during my stay. While I understand that situations may arise, it was a little troublesome to have to go through. Another minor setback was the occurrence of a blackout during my stay due to a thunderstorm. Although it was relatively short-lived and the hostel staff did their best to resolve the issue promptly, it was somewhat worrying. It may have been helpful if the hostel had a backup power supply or a contingency plan in place for such situations. Additionally, there were some slight issues with the water supply, and water tempetures, resulting in reduced water pressure or a temporary outage. While the staff did respond quickly, taking it very seriously, trying their best to rectify the problem, it did cause some inconvenience when I had no choice but to shower or to use the restroom. Despite these minor occurrences, I would still recommend this hostel for its overall positive aspects. With a bit more attention to addressing the issues mentioned, this hostel has the potential to provide an outstanding experience for its guests. Overall, my stay was memorable, and I appreciate the efforts of the hostel's staff in ensuring a pleasant visit.

2 nights pros: hotel has a beautiful well maintained courtyard with communal seating, plants & shade from the strong GDL sun. It’s in a fantastic location with an easy walk to most sites (cathedral, trains, buses). Attentive, friendly & helpful front desk. Felt like a hostel set up (in a good way) with morning breakfast & shared kitchen. Beds were comfortable & clean. There was enough furniture in the room so you don’t have to put all your personal effects on the ground. Cons: there’s a nearby dog that barks quite a lot. My earplugs solved that issue.

Beautiful, colourful place. Open air courtyard in the middle is the best setting for breakfast. Location is so close to the train, short walk to downtown. Many restaurants and amenities nearby. The staff are welcoming, helpful in providing a safe comfortable environment. Definitely recommend!

This is a cheap & cheerful place. That’s been covered by others. It’s also dingy downstairs in the rooms, dusty, and poorly maintained. In true Mexican style, when something doesn’t work, they just leave it. Example, I first had an upstairs room. No light over the sink. Windows leaked a lot of air. No curtains so morning sun or late night corridor light is disturbing. One electrical outlet for the entire room, once the TV & modem were plugged in. Lots of sound travels room to room, so next door had a bad cough. I could hear it like it was, well next door. Then I had to move downstairs next day because of an error in their booking system with Booking.com. That room had 1 ceiling light. No reading light. The fan that turned on with the light banged every revolution of the blades. Had to ask staff to turn off the fan. The central courtyard is a sound funnel, so the staff talking at 6:30 am echoes throughout the place. The washer upstairs vibrates the whole floor. It’s not a quiet place. |Breakfast was awful. Bad coffee, no juice, corn Flakes or Fruit Loops, sandwich bread to toast, butter, jam and cut fruit. Kitchen is a mess. Hard to know what to do as there were no staff around to ask. One front desk person, William was super nice & always responded when asked for information. Other staff seemed to be on a work slowdown. More interested in being on their phones. Place could use some TLC. What it gets now is bandaids. At least there’s potable water available. |||
