This place was booked by our tour company and it is absolutely one of the worst hotels I have stayed in the entire world. I travel 180+ days per year and should now.||||Here's the good, bad and the ugly:||||Good:||||(1) convenient location to old town (but comes at a huge price--see below).||||The Bad:||||(1) rooms are horrible with no sound proofing. We were on second floor and could her kitchen above us and patrons serving and eating breakfast ate 6am.. Definitely booked this hotel if you do not plan to sleep in because you won't.||(2) When you leave the room, they turn off the A/C so if you happen to go out for a run and come back, it will only be 90+ degrees in your room so do not worry about cooling down.||(3) Breakfast food is awful...this is one of two places in Colombia I got sick shortly after eating breakfast. Food poisoning? ||||The Ugly:||||(1) Hotel seems to be located on the main street into Old Town. So you get to listen to a massive party all night of cars honking their horns and playing music into the wee hours....sleep equality is zero.||(2) The bed for a coupe is tiny and hard...so if you happen to get to sleep, good luck on staying a sleep in a poor bed.

Safe and affordable hotel in Cartagena. We booked this hotel on a short notice, as we didn’t like the hotel where we were before. This hotel is so much better. The rooms are nice and clean, cute little balcony on our room as well. 24hr reception which is great and felt very safe. They offer free drinking water at the ground floor. Room size is good for 2 people, there is a rooftop bar next door. One night we heard the music from the bar quite loud but after 11pm the music was turned down and we could sleep. The staff is really nice and helpful, they offered laundry service as well. There is a little breakfast, nothing special but it’s alright. Would be nice to have little more options for the breakfast. Overall totally good hotel to stay and would definitely recommend and rebook.

I spent one night in Cartagena as part of a tour of Colombia and the Villa Colonial was a great place to stay. It's in the historic Getsemani area so you're right in the heart of the old town and it's walkable to the historic ‎⁨Castillo de San Felipe (fortress). Nearby by there are numerous shops, restaurants and bars and the area is very lively on the weekends. The hotel is not new, but has great historic character. The rooms were clean and comfortable, though the furniture and fixtures were a bit on the worn side. The bathroom was basic (and not air conditioned) but functional. The in-room air conditioner was very good, and I can't stress enough how important that is in this hot, humid town (common areas don't seem to be air conditioned, but it's a small hotel so not a big issue). There is a small rooftop pool that was very refreshing for a nighttime dip. The rooftop breakfast area was nice and they had a variety of food options; my cooked-to-order eggs were enjoyable. Overall, if you're spending a few nights in Cartagena and enjoy history and being centrally located, Villa Colonial is a nice choice.

Stayed with a tour. ||Overall low to average hotel. ||lobby / rooftop and size of rooms was 3 stars, but quality of rooms was 2. It’s more like a motel. ||Room was good size but the sheets were dirty. ||given the open air courtyard + the rooms all face the courtyard it is very noisy – tons of street noise, able to hear music from nearby restaurants / bars and in the morning/evening you can hear voices from people talking in the courtyard. ||When the electricity was working (general problem in Cartegena) the AC was strong. ||Well located in the wall city with a 10 minute walk to the main strip of bars/restaurants and the park.||Best feature was the roof

Cute hotel in the middle of it all!! Eliana at the front desk was incredibly sweet and helpful to a non Spanish speaking tourist! Rooms are fairly basic with AC! The courtyard is beautiful and the room top pool you can see the fortress and the tower!

We stayed here for 2 nights at the start of our G Adventures tour. I enjoyed my stay, the staff at the front desk were really good and helpful. One of our group hurt her ankle and they were good at providing ice packs. We had breakfast included in the rooftop which was cooked fresh.

This hotel offers a nice and calm place to sleep. The beds are comfortable and there is no street noice. The rooms also have good airco, hot water to shower and daily cleanings. The breakfast was not very good and our room needed some touch up (the blanket and bed looked a bit worn out). I would still recommend this hotel as a good option within its price range. The hotel staff was very friendly as well.

Pleasant hotel in an excellent location. Adequate facilities with a small pool. Travelled with G Adventure and unfortunately they hadn’t provided the hotel with the correct details which made for a very awkward situation. Breakfast was simple but nice
