Casa Villa Sunset

My husband and I stayed 8 days, our second time in Cuba, but our first in a Casa. Our room faced the street and had a nice breeze during the day, but we had to close the windows before nightfall because of mosquitos. Our AC didn't really work so the room was too warm at night. Rooms were cleaned every day, but our sheets were not changed during our stay. Breakfast of fresh fruit, toast and eggs, served inside or on the front patio, was always more that sufficient. There's a rear yard with laundry line and patio.

We were in Cuba in March 2018. Casa Villa Sunset was really nice. It was clean, air conditioning was working perfectly. House was simple and elegant. Rooms were very clean, cleaned every day (we also got new towels every day). Breakfast was nice, we got fruits first,later we could get eggs in different forms - omlett, scramble eggs etc., toasts, fresh fruit juice, coffee/tea.||Casa was close to the beautiful beach with awesome water. ||Antuan, our host, was a very friendly person. He spoke english and was very helpful. He was always willing to give us some advice or help with other things.||We spent there 3 days and we can recommend this place to every one. It was our first casa in our cuban trip and we believe it was the best!

My husband and me have stayed at Villa Sunset for 2 days in March 2017. The breakfast is standard for casa particular in Cuba, except fresh juice, it had to much water in it and we wait for breakfast to much time. Both of lady, who were responsible for us, they stay in kitchen to long, closed the door and had a chat. They are very unfriendly, special elder. ||They The beach is 3 min walk and is very beautiful.

We stayed at this casa located on called 13th which is away from all the big hotels. The casa is about 50 yards away from the beach. We are a family of 4 so we got the suite with 2 double beds. It was big enough and a.c. was cold. It was a good deal for us 3 nights included breakfast of fresh fruits: papaya, pineapple slices, gauva and grapefruit. You also get 2 slices of Cuban ham and cheese sandwich and choice of eggs of your choice. You finish your breakfast with coffee and water with slight flavor of pineapple or guava. We had the breakfast on the front patio watching locals and tourists going by.||Like everyone, we also had problem with mosquitos. You are in a tropical country so It's expected that there will be out at dawn and feed on you. So Bring your insect repellent. I also discovered that the mosquitos got into our room through the small openings around the screens and windows' handles. To make an easy fix, I sealed the openings with toilet papers. I also mention this issue to the supervisor, Sonalis.|We felt pretty safe staying here even though there were no one around after the staff finish there tasks. At night we had security guard: Brady or wuokin (sp). I think we interacted with these two the most. Charing and played checkers. We really had fun at Varadero supporting local Cubans. From the taxis drivers to Churro vendor.

Horrible Casa: They were not very friendly. -There were problems with the bathroom and their response was to explain to us how to fix it. -We then moved rooms. -There were mosquitoes all over the room. -There was very loud party music until 2am (and nobody available at the Casa to rectify the situation) - we got very little sleep. -There was no hot water as advertised -They were not helpful or understanding. We left the next morning. We have had very good experiences at the various Casa Particulares we have stayed at throughout Cuba - this was the one and only bad experience.

Nice Casa very close to the lovely beach. The hosts were excellent and very friendly. They helped us with local information and contacted our next accommodation on our behalf which was very much appreciated. The breakfast was lovely on the front terrace. The room was clean and we did not experience any problems with mosquitos. Great value for money. Great restaurants close by.

This house has a perfect location, just a few steps and you are on the beach. The breakfast is average but not bad. Air conditioner was working properly but you have to be careful with the mosquitos. They are changing towels daily. They speak Spanish and a little bit English

We backpacked for 3weeks in Cuba and slept in many casas but this was one of the worst. We stayed 5days in this casa.||We paid a lot of money comparing to the other casas. ||The breakfast was bad (we got even sick of it) and the staff wasn’t friendly. Every night loud music from the neighbours so we couldn’t sleep. Mosquitoes everywhere. ||The last day they Told us that we only had one hour to check out without the possibility to take a shower in the room. In stead of that we got a shower outside in view of the neighbours and no towels!! ||It was a very bad experience!!
