Casa Zulu

My girlfriend and I decided to go on a romantic getaway for the weekend and we chose Casa Zulu mainly from the reviews here, and I have to say I wasn't even a little bit disappointed. On the contrary, it was even better than I could imagine.||||The beach is absolutely gorgeous, as is the pousada. The staff is very kind always willing to help.||||We stayed at the Superior Bungalow Room. It is large, but cozy, and has a 360º balcony with a beautiful pool view. It's got air conditioning, satellite tv, a mini bar and hot shower.||||The couple who own the place are very welcoming and nice people. We shared a lot of laughs and had a long talk at the pousada bar one evening. Speaking of which, the food and drinks are great, and the price is great too! Oh, and they have a cute an awesome dog (Zulu) who loves to be pet!||||I would absolutely recommend this pousada to anyone who wants to have a great time, relax and forget about our everyday worries and routine.

Very charming pousada with a lovely young host familiy. We enjoyed our stay last july very much. The owners are caring and we felt at home immediately. The garden and the rooms are taken care of with love. The pousada is located directly at the beach with a 10 minutes walk to the kite station. The owners also arranged a pick up from the airport, so we could start our holiday directly in Icaraizinho. Icaraizinho is perfect for people who are looking for a quiet place to relax and kite – we enjoyed our days kiting, hanging around in the hammocks in the pousada and drinking caipirinha. Thanks again for the hospitality Roxanne and Edouard! Definitely recommendable!

We really enjoyed staying at Casa Zulu for 8 nights mid November 2014. The host family is just so welcoming and helpful, the place itself is a little paradise with lots of green spaces, hammocks and relaxing places, right off the beach and town. Everything is well maintained and clean, the breakfast was delicious, the staff is very friendly and and we felt totally safe. We enjoyed two fish barbecue dinners during our stay, had a great time socializing with the other guests and enjoyed a nice sunset trip to a nearby dune / river for Oysters and Caipirinha organized by the host family. One of the most beautiful places I have stayed. Great room in a pousada surrounded by trees. They were flexible with my needs and provided great service. This place is ideal for a romantic weekend! I will definitely recommend to other people. Owners speak fluent English, making it much easier for foreigners. Not my case but useful info to add.

I spent 10 very relaxing days at Casa Zulu with the wonderfully welcoming family of 3 generations of Roxanne + Edourde, son Tom-Tom and Joelle, and friendly dogs and cats. My room has been very comfortable, the garden with swimming pool is very pretty and breakfast/lunches/dinners on the ocean-facing terrace are in a great setting and very yummy! They do great fish barbecues on Wednesday and Sunday evenings, and Francesco's Caipirinhas are sublime. ||The beach of Icaraizinho is miles long, safe to swim and offers lots of space for windsurfers and kitesurfers. Edourdo is also an excellent instructor for both windsurfing and kitesurfing. ||I come back any time!

We had such a wonderful few days at Casa Zulu. Roxanne (and Edouard and Tom) are such wonderful hosts and really make everything very easy. The grounds of the pousada are gorgeous - a lovely pool, hammocks everywhere and right on the beach! There is also a great common area which you can lounge around in. We loved the decor of the bungalows, lots of personal touches and plenty of space. Would highly recommend!

I visited this pousada December 3rd 2014. I wasn't fortunate enough to stay there but we met the owners and was invited to have dinner with them. The food was amazing as was the staff, owners and other guests we had dinner with. We asked to see the rooms and were shown there superior room as well as a standard room and they were both well decorated, clean and every pleasing. The bar area and grounds in general were well kept and very very beautiful. I will be returning to this area again and will for sure be staying here! I would recommend it to anyone interested in visiting this area.

One word describes my experience: Paradise! Beautiful green lush gardens, crystal clear pool and the ocean on your doorstep with soft sand and warm water! Even spotted iguanas and monkeys which visit the garden. The barman makes mean mojitos and caipirinha! Comfortable rooms with hammocks and private balcony to chill. Attentive hosts who are happy to help. Walking distance from all the shops and restaurants. Best holiday I've ever experienced! Will definitely be back for more!
