This place really surprised us and not for great reasons, very mixed experience. The bones of the place were great as goes for many places in key west that have been around for a while but the fit and finish were just terrible on this place considering the price. The night we stayed I looked it up and it was $700 for the night. For that price this place is a shame. The size of the room we got and the huge balcony overlooking Duval street was great but the NOISE at all hours from the street and the air conditioning unit were just unbearable. The bed and pillows are very uncomfortable, the advertised breakfast is croissants and yogurt. The pool is very small, shaded and not heated, was ~65* and no towels were provided for the pool. Everything like tiles, exterior floors, walls, ceilings, fans etc need cleaning/scrubbing. Honestly confused how this place has such high reviews. I would not stay here again unless prices were cut by 75% or so. The only positive was the staff was friendly, so there was that, very nice people.

As a family, there were 3 of us in the double queen! We arrived early and were able to check in early. A plus!! The room was small, however beds were comfortable! We used the, provided, chests to store our clothing. The walkin shower bathroom was ample big enough for all cosmetics. We love the sample Salt Scrub! Breakfast was simple and adequate. The Tavern next door has excellent food

I loved the location, and the staff was so friendly, my only disappointment was there is no coffee maker in the room and breakfast is not served until 8 am. I was visiting town on a trip to Dry Tortugas National Park and had to be at the Ferry Terminal by 7 am, so I had to really make do for my morning coffee addiction (I ended up using hot tap water and some dehydrated coffee packets from Starbucks). The room was clean and the location would be impossible to beat. The bar downstairs is great too. Special shout out to the girl at check-in, she is very good and super helpful.

This older hotel with a lounge and restaurant on location was a great choice. Central, which we could walk from one end to another of the main street which has mostly everything we came for. A couple of downsides is the parking and all the rooms in which we saw had stairs. Parking is 7 minutes south. Free but walking after you drop off your luggage.

Google
Great place with a clean light room and quiet back yard. Nice coffee and selection of pastries in the morning was a big plus. Parked my car in the free parking lot as directed by the front desk and enjoyed walking on Duval. Overall enjoyed my stay

Grwt location. Rooms are good. Good service. Would come back again.

We stayed at Casablanca in Dec 2023 and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The room was clean with a large balcony facing Duval street. The hotel location is perfect to explore the most of the attractions and restaurants on foot. The staff was wonderful and super helpful. The complementary breakfast was delicious. As our room faced the street, the loud noise at night bothered us sometimes but otherwise everything was great.

I hate to leave less than a five star review, but feel misled by the other reviews posted (maybe it was just our room, or maybe standards are different in the keys). The good; location and staff was nice.. however, the room was rough. Very small, with no where to place luggage but right in front of the beds. Bathroom fan did not work, and toilet paper (I mean spend the extra dollar on this especially when guests are paying $400+ per night!!) was so thin, it was transparent, no lie. The window mounted ac unit was noisy and erratic in operation (aside from the fact the red filter change light was on... who knows how often it's even checked). The beds were very uncomfortable, and you can hear EVERYTHING from the connecting room and outside (every bottle thrown). My advice to the hotel, spend a little money updating the rooms (even still has a metal key, not a card for entering the rooms), and keep your good customer service and you will make for a better overall experience.

Yelp
The room was Awesome! My wife and I felt like we had our own condo with a private pool and right on Duval with all the restaurants. Service is great....clean rooms....comfy bed

Yelp
I can only guess that the reviews for this hotel are good because they are several years old, as it is in dire need of a renovation. The rooms are small and musty, and can't be aired out because the windows don't have screens, it's very noisy and everything is old and worn. Your luggage will be on the floor because there isn't a flat surface anywhere - not a chair, table, bathroom vanity, etc. There are no amenities except a freezing cold, (I heard) very dingy pool. I would pass on staying at this hotel.

Yelp
I'm giving this place Five Stars for what they are... trust me they are not your classic Five Star White Glove Resort. However for what they are they kill it! If you want to stay in an Inn built in 1898, in the middle of Old Town, midway on Duval Street, everything worth seeing in walking distance this is your place to stay! If you want a brand new, cookie cutter hotel where you have to rent a car (pay a parking fee) or take a Uber, hear the nightlife and the Roosters crowing this may not be the place for you. We (my wife & myself) stayed there three nights and really enjoyed everything associated with the Inn, highly recommended.

Yelp
EXCELLENT SERVICE Family operated clean room great location quaint B&B with a pool right in the middle of the action easy walk to anywhere!!!!

Yelp
Great hotel right in the HEART of Key West, in the thick of the main drag, yet was quiet & felt very safe. The lovely woman at the front desk was SO nice (telling us two options for free unlimited street parking, and the street she suggested [Olivia St] had a free spot right around the corner), and our room on the ground floor was clean & comfy, just steps from the pool, with a table & chairs outside the door. Very quiet -- our room was set back from the street so we didn't hear any noise. Hotel is LITERALLY a stone's throw from the Hemingway House, on the same square block! Nice restaurant & British pub on the property -- good Scotch eggs! LOCATION!!! It can't be beat. Only ding was poor water pressure in the shower. Would stay again for sure.

Yelp
This place is at the prime location walkable to all hot and happening night life spots in Key West Right on duval street. Squeaky clean rooms and top notch customer service. Save the vouchers for breakfast it's one of the best in town with must have bloody marys!!

Tiffany C.

Yelp
I must start by saying the owner Monsir... Above and beyond amazing hospitality and customer service. We freaking Key West at least once a month locals from Fort Lauderdale we stayed at many places that's by far exceeds our expectations. The biggest thing we checked in and as females we did not have a mirror and our room and the owner he took his time to find us and mirror and bring it to us to make our stay more comfortable. Also talked about a continental breakfast!! he self-serves all of his guests. just that simple touch makes it that much better. I'll definitely recommend this hotel for many years to come .

Yelp
Wonderful staff! They were so helpful (it was our first time in key west) and went out of their way to make staying here feel like we were staying with old friends...it was truly a delight! The room we stayed in (room 2) was so sweet...the house/building is beautiful. There is also a lovely old Hemingway cat that lounges outside...she's been here a few years and never went back We had an incredible 4 night stay...you're right on Duval street, so any direction you turn there is something to do. Highly recommend the Casablanca over the commercial properties on the island!

Yelp
I stayed at the Casablanca, June 22-June 25, solo traveler, I really enjoyed this hotel!! For the price and the location, it exceeded my expectations. Wonderful owners, efficient staff, and beautiful pool! The restaurant next door, Old Town Tavern has delicious food, attentive staff, and great prices. I took advantage of the happy hour and the $10 voucher for breakfast. The location of Casablanca is great! Walking distance to Hemingway's House and walking distance to two stops on the Trolley Tour, all my Uber/Lyft rides were $10 or less, also did a lot of walking. Overall, I am very pleased with the Casablanca, would book another trip here, and I highly recommend it!

Yelp
We decided to take a trip to Key West at the last minute. The place I usually stay at was booked so I started looking around online for a different place to stay. I came across Casablanca & read the reviews. We decided to give it a try. I'm so glad we did! It was very spacious & clean. Gail was very helpful on the phone before our trip. They offer breakfast every morning but we ate at other places instead. We stayed in room#3 which has a queen size bed & is located on the first floor. It is at the south end of Duval which for me was a hike from where we like to hang out (Irish Kevin's) but really is not that far, I am just spoiled. I would consider staying here again if the other place is not available. The one thing that I think was missing was a clock. They do have free Wi-Fi & a mini fridge.

Robin G.

Yelp
No words. This place is gorgeous and the staff are amazing. Close proximity to everything Key West. Definitely recommend staying here.. We will be back. Until then, thank you!

Evan M.

Yelp
Great location, kind management, clean and cute rooms, what more could you ask for!? Breakfast voucher in the morning was a pleasant surprise too! Very tasty! If we're back again, you can bet your buns well stay here again!

David C.

Yelp
Great hotel on Duval right in between Higgs beach on one end and the Sunset Pier on the other end. The Management team were incredibly helpful and the fruit and croissants breakfast was a perfect start to the day (croissants from Croissant de France). Rooms were nice size (I missed my king size bed, but bed was ok). Didn't try the pool, but nice to have the option. Most hotels down here don't have parking, but we managed to drive to Fort Zachary Taylor SP twice and always managed to find a free spot within 3-4 blocks of hotel. We would definitely stay here again.

Kory K.

Yelp
Decided to stay an extra night in Key West but couldn't stay another night at first hotel so had to move to Casablanca, which to our delight, was quite a surprise. Location was slightly tucked away behind Duval store fronts with a fairly private pool and air conditioned Tap Room adjacent. Interesting layout that is private while right in the middle of the action on Duval. Service couldn't have been better with assisting with our last minute booking, even checking us in early. Rooms are quite cozy but very clean with cool a/c which is a huge plus in the Keys. The large second floor deck with lovely pool make for refreshing evening after day drinking!

Rhonda F.

Yelp
This place is our second home! Gail and Mansour are family! We can not say enough good things about this place and their service. The rooms are clean, the location is amazing, the food is great and the customer service is exceptional. We've been staying here almost 20 years and would never think of staying anywhere else.

Diana H.

Yelp
Staff were wonderful, esp. Mansour, the manager. Very accommodating, friendly, great breakfast, adorable room. Clean and cozy. And, best location on the island!

Paulette P.

Yelp
What a fabulous find on Duval Street! It's in the 900 block (so a bit of a walk to Sloppy Joe's and other bars on the 200 block), but the Hemingway House is just behind the Inn! The large room was comfortable and had a little patio table with easy access to the pool. Mansour and his wife were so lovely and hospitable. Mansour provides coffee, O.J., fruit, danish and croissants daily, free of charge. I will be back.

Kelli M.

Yelp
What a great last minute find! Location is fabulous- you're in the middle of everything. Bed was super comfortable and for the price and location, you can't beat it. The staff is absolutely wonderful to boot- Monseur (not sure if I'm spelling it right) was fabulous from check in to breakfast the next day, you can genuinely tell that they care about your stay here. Not a bad word to say, thanks for everything!

Angelo R.

Yelp
We stayed here on Saturday because our original hotel, Andrew's Inn only had Friday availability. We were happy that it was literally 10 steps away so hauling our luggage wasn't a problem. Its right on Duval so no need to move the car. There's a bustling Irish pub adjacent to the hotel. Check-in was a breeze and the man who helped us was very hospitable. We got Room 4 cause that was the only one available. Its located right by the pool. The room was big enough for an overnight stay. It was basic...2 beds, hanging tube TV (what?), bathroom is pretty big & no mini fridge. You can ask for ice from the front desk if you need it. The only thing annoying was the wall AC. It was so loud cause the plastic cover for the filter was vibrating. We didn't stay much in the hotel but just slept there inebriated from bar hopping :) So I guess that helped from the noisy AC :) We will give it another try but will definitely opt for another room just to compare. Stay tuned!

Ale O.

Yelp
We stayed there one night on a Thursday. Great stay. Great price, complimentary breakfast and centrally located. I'm also from south beach and walk a lot but to me it was perfect. The owner and his wife were incredibly nice! If you just want a place to crash while you explore key west, this is your spot.

Martin M.

Yelp
Loved it. Great location and awesome staff. Perfect B&B for chilling in Key West. Large clean room, right on Duvsl but toward the quieter end.

Debbie H.

Yelp
The location was great. Bathroom floor had mold on it. I was there for three nights and every morning woke up with bites all over me. Still itching. Not impressed at all.

Marie W.

Yelp
What a wonderful place to stay. Location is great, staff is so friendly and helpful. Make you feel so welcome and will help you out with anything. Room was great, separate living area, plenty of space, small patio to sit back and relax. Very well maintained and very clean. Will definitely be going back for another stay.

Rachel B.

Yelp
The best quality of this hotel is the great location. It is right on Duval Street, so there are lots of good restaurants and shops right nearby. Mallory square is a bit further at about a 15-20 minute walk, but definitely doable. I was there with my family (not partying) so we were a little worried about the noise, but it did not bother us at all (though the loud air conditioner helped provide white noise). There is a small but nice pool, and you get breakfast vouchers for the restaurant next store (Old Town Tavern). Our room was a little tight, but for a room with 2 beds and 4 people in the middle of the city it was pretty much what we expected. The one downside is that there is no parking on site, but they direct you to a free lot that is about a 10 minute or less walk. This was fine for us because the hotel's good location means you can just leave your car there and walk wherever you need to go.

Paula S.

Yelp
DO NOT MAKE RESERVATIONS WITH THIS PLACE! After securing a very low room rate through Priceline/Booking.com, five days later my reservation was cancelled because Casablanca REFUSED TO HONOR the rate that was posted. They obviously do not care about the customer. BUYER BEWARE! You may find yourself homeless on vacation in Key West and your vacation may be RUINED!

Spencer J.

Yelp
This place is a gem! Spacious, clean, reasonably priced. Wife and I came down for 4 days and the staff couldn't be more helpful. We arrived late and someone called to make sure we are ok. Had a bottle of Champagne waiting for us when we arrived (additional $25). When we had issues, they took care of it. Perfect location to park the car for the week and walk everywhere. Location was perfect. Only issue is no parking. Need to find parking on the street but I found parking around the corner near the Hemmingway House. A+ stay!

Michelle T.

Yelp
Very nice place. Up to date rooms. Very comfortable beds. I wouldn't stay anywhere else.

Kimberly F.

Yelp
My boyfriend took me to Key West for my birthday and we stayed here for the first time and we could not have been more pleased!! The owners were beyond nice and accommodating and the amenities were classic Key West and made our vacation even more perfect. I highly recommend this hotel! The location is perfect and right in the middle of the action on Duval, while still feeling hidden away and quiet. We are already planning another trip!!

Victoria G.

Yelp
This is the place to stay if you are looking for a roof over your head while in Key West. The place is clean, dry and conveniently but quietly located on Duvall St. However, do not expect any of the grace or charm of a B&B from this one! My husband and I stayed in Room 3 and found the pool lights blaring into our room all night long, one of the fans didn't work and the tub which looked like a garden tub in photos was just standard sized after all with a ledge. The staff was not exactly warm and friendly but the rock bottom price is what drew us in!

Michelle R.

Yelp
Thanks goodness our stay here was for only 1 night ! Will NEVER stay here nor recommend this place to anyone ! The only reason for 1 star is because it was booked by boyfriend with love as a surprise to me for my birthday and to his defense he is not familiar with Key West and thought this would be a great place to stay right on Duval Street; not to mention you can't write a review with no stars or negative stars ! I was both disappointed & surprised on the money he spent for 1 night at this dive ! I did not let that ruin his surprise to me or tell him how truly upset I was. I put on a smile and said " this place is great sweetie " because I know he really tried to make this a special weekend trip ! But now for the real review : Our room at the Casablanca Inn was $ 365.00 for 1 night due to high season and this place is a dive ! There was NO HOT WATER, the best you are going to get is luke warm even though the manager said to let it run a few minutes and it would get hot. I wanted to take a nice HOT shower after getting off the Key West Express ( ferry we took to get to Key West) to freshen up before we hit the town and the water did not get HOT and I had the faucet turned all the way to HOT. I took yet another shower around midnight and still NO HOT WATER , again luke warm if that. The towels were very thin, worn and a couple had some stains on them as did the washcloths. The bed sheets had a few long black hairs in them- I could not tell if it was from the maids hair or if the sheets were just not clean ? The beds mattress springs were able to be felt when you laid on the bed. The sheets were also worn which is why they felt scratchy when you crawled into them. I had to actually sleep in my pajamas /clothes so that the sheets were not directly touching me. The wooden flooring was lifting in some places which made tripping on it part of the experience of this hotel from hell. Dirt & dust in the corners of the room, We ran out of Toilet Paper ! Seriously ! There was enough on the role for about 5 / 6 conservative uses and I went to see if there was an extra roll anywhere in the room. Mind you I did not realize this til around 10:00 pm as we were in the room long enough at check in time to take a luke warm shower when we got there and hit the town ! There was not even enough tissue in the Kleenex box to get us through . It only had 12 sheets of tissue in it ( I counted them ) ! Thank goodness there was an Irish Pub right next door. I went over there and asked the bartender if I could have a role of toilet paper as it was 10:30 at night and nobody was at the front desk. What hotel doesn't keep an extra role of toilet paper in the room ? The wall unit A/C must have needed a Freon charge as it got cool but not cold. I could go on and on- but I think you get the idea ! Stay anywhere else on the island. Sleeping on a towel/ blanket on the beach and using the public showers/ restrooms would have been a better choice and much cheaper ! There are hotels that you get for a night when you are traveling that you know are cheap but you are just looking for a hot shower and a place to rest for a couple hours before getting back on the road . And I can not recall any of them being this bad !

Christy S.

Yelp
My husband had never been to the keys so he made all the arrangements for our stay. He was looking for a B&B and Casablanca came up as one with reasonable rates and reviews from other websites. Pros... It is right on Duval and convenient to pretty much everything. Cons... They do not offer parking, so we had to search 20 minutes for parking that is 3 blocks away. Upon entering our room it was cute. I always pull the bedding back to see what's going on. Thank goodness I did. The sheets did not look like they had been changed. There was hairs everywhere. Can you say GROSS!!! We called right away. She was prompt to get them changed and apologized. The bathroom was ok. Towels were old and raggedy looking. When we took our first shower, it was cold. No hot water. We later found out that you have to let the water run for literally 7 minutes to get any hot water and even then your shower doesn't stay hot the whole time. The pool area is small and I mean SMALL. They need to resurface the pool something fierce. We got there on Wednesday and checked out on Friday. Our stay for the two night was about $320, which I would guess is because of the location. Because the B&B, I mean hotel, was not worth anywhere near that much. It was a place to sleep. That's it.

Adela T.

Yelp
This place was pretty nice! The best part about it, is its location. It's right on Duval St. by all the action. The parking situation is less than ideal, but they have it figured out. The hotel doesn't have any parking but there's a lot about a 10 minute walk away that is totally free. I found the prices for both nights to be reasonable considering the competition. As for the room itself, it was light, bright, and airy. I did find a couple stains on our bed and some hair in the refrigerator, and our bathroom smelled like pee. Not great. But they had plenty of towels and provided the usual shampoo/lotion/soap, which was nice. Housekeeping came late in the day, around 2-3pm. A/C is an individual unit and gets the room super cold. As a bonus (I didn't know ahead of time) they have a small pool. However, a couple things that irritated me - there is no WiFi, despite what their description says. And we were told that breakfast was included in our stay (I actually paid a little extra for this), but when we arrived we were told the restaurant was closed for the time being. That was pretty annoying because breakfast was pricey along Duval; we ended up paying $20-30 each for breakfast/brunch per person each day. It's an okay hotel, I would stay again, but don't expect anything luxurious.

Julie G.

Yelp
Had a great stay at this hotel. What makes the hotel so incredible is the hospitality of the hotel manager and his wife. This couple will bend over backwards to make your stay relaxed and comfortable, something that you don't really find any more. Room was very clean and nice though beds could use improvement or replacement, which is the only reason I gave it a four star.

Titus L.

Yelp
This is an historic structure over 100 years if you have booked your stay at this BnB. Owned by an Irish couple Casablanca also has an Irish pub adjoining it.I vote for Casablanca not only for the stay but also the experience , run by super friendly people the staff is always there to help and provide a great service.extremely co-operative staff that was a pleasure to deal with since our booking and right till departure. These folks provide you an array of concierge service right from bike rentals which are the cheapest on the block.Must stay location.

Stacy W.

Yelp
We stayed here due to its location which was okay. The major drawback is that it is next door to a loud Irish bar, which plays live bands late into the night so it is very noisy to try to get a quiet night's sleep. Not having parking was a minor drawback as we did find a place to park about 3 blocks away.

Cecily A.

Yelp
We should have known from check in when we only got a queen size bed after reserving a King that our stay was going to have some issues. Bigger issue was they advertised free Wi-Fi, but failed to mention it may not work anywhere except on the patio near the office... We had room 6 and no Wi-Fi. Now back to the queen size bed, it wasnt firm at all and tilted the right. The room was clean and the AC was great, TV worked fine. As for showering, if you like cold showers there is no problem..... Even in the morning there was no hot water for a shower!! Towels were clean but we found numerous long hairs on the bath towels, even the next day after towels were changed, long hairs,,, aweful!! On a better note, front desk clerk, Gail was very nice and tried to help us with whatever we needed. She prepared a free continental breakfast with coffee and orange juice which was very nice. During Bike Week our room rate was $145, so if you are looking for cheap on Duval and dont mind the issues we had, then stay at the. Casablanca. For us, we probably won't return.
