Casas da Ribeira

We had a beautiful staying at this amazing double bedroom, pet friendly house! The place is very well decorated with all the appliances and furniture for a very comfortable holidays! The wood burner is superb makes the room very cozy for a perfect literary season! Also the central heating (a rarity in Portugal) was perfect! Thank you very much indeed to Catarina and Ana for making our wonderful holidays even better!!

Loved my experience. Stayed there for a long weekend and it was absolutely lovely. The staff is so kind an helpful. They are every attentive, we used the fire place, and even though there was a large amount of wood and we barely used a fraction, and the next morning they had placed more wood outside our door just in case. There is a very friendly cat whcih I don't think is theirs but he hung out around our house. If you are a dog/cat lover this is definitely the place for you. We stayed in their smallest option and the roof above the bedroom was a little low, if you are on the taller side you'll have to duck, but you don't stand while sleeping so it's okay! Honestly, the place felt very homey, and I'd highly recommend it.

Stay here! Nestled in the Serra da Estrela, just outside of Seia, the Casas da Ribeira is a wonderful retreat. The apartments are located in a small village that feels as restful as it does alive with mountain dogs, sheep, local cats... Catarina and Ana are superb hosts: they have and make wonderful recommendations; are attentive to all of your needs; and make delicious jam. The apartments themselves are perfectly sized for a small family or group of friends (we stayed in a 2 bedroom). They all have some outdoor space and/or a fireplace to set the tone of your holiday even better. I cannot say enough about our trip here- definitely stay here!

Such a cozy place! We stayed in the studio, which was perfect for 2 persons.It was equipped with a kitchenette and ustensils. The best was the fireplace! The owner very nicely refilled our wood stock, so we could enjoy the coziness of the charming stone house troughout the weekend! The location is great, close to Seia and the hiking trails of Serra da Estrella. Highly recommended!

This is an amazing resting place for families or individuals. Several houses can be rented with great comfort and size. The breakfast is delivered daily at you door with delicious region products. The owner is very friendly and always available to help. The landscape is awesome and you can easily go at any point of the Serra da Estrela or Seia City. Definitely deserves a come back.

We loved our stay in Casas da Ribeira located in the lovely mountainside village of Povoa Velha ... Just 5kms from Seia. It just doesn't get more authentic as this!||We loved the solitude & change of pace on our 10 day road trip. It was a chance to unwind, wander & ponder in the country fresh air.||Great variety of trails short, long, easy or challenging... Well colour coded so you don't get lost.||Accommodation was lovely, clean, cool, snug & comfortable. Plenty of room to spread out & enjoy your own kitchenette. Good basic European brekkie provided. The owner was keen to make sure we were well looked after & comfy. ||Lovely little nooks inside & outside to soak up morning sun or to cool off from the afternoon heat. ||We loved it so much we booked an extra night ... Definitely be back for some more relaxation & exploring the Serra da Estrela.

An amazing setting, near the highest part of Portugal - Torre with fresh bread every morning and lovely local foods. Surrounded by forest and gorgeous landscape. It is near many local river beaches, restaurants with traditional foods and locally resourced. Near Seia and the museu do Pão, and short drive away from Gouveia, Linhares, Folgosinho and the gorgeous river beach of Loriga. It is a great place to stay with family, children, pets or friends. Competly suitable to all ages and with all the facilities to cook meals and to enjoy the silence of the country side.

The best hotel you will find on Pico. We have been guests at Casa da Ribeira from April 30th till May 5th 2022. Palmira and Mario - the owners - are the most friendliest and welcoming people you will meet. Thank you again for the great stay!
