Cascada Hotel was a great stay for us to explore Luzern and Switzerland. The rooms were cozy, big enough for the 3 of us, and provided everything we needed. The security was good, requiring hotel cards for lift access. They were also advanced in using web access for lift and room access, and the web app was decently well built and secure. The service by the caretaker was perfect, and the free mini bar drinks were nice and refilled daily. They also had drinks and fruits at the lobby, umbrellas for the wet weather and bicycles for use around the city. Check in and out was simple and quick as well. The hotel was well located near the Luzern Rail Station, convenient for travelers who are using the Swiss railway frequently. Staff was helpful in providing us with help for nearby laundry services and most were friendly.
We also had dinner at the Bolero restaurant at the first floor. Food was great and the service was amazing. We had a courtly and pleasant middle-aged Italian man (missed his name, but he said he was from Milan) who served us well and made us feel nice and welcome.
Check-in was slightly unpleasant as the check-in form had our country of origin assumed from an Asian country (which I shall not specify). Unsure why the country was printed in for us, we did not state it during the booking of the hotel, and they could have left it empty for us to fill, we were assumed to be from a particular Asian country just because we were Asians. It was the first case of something like this as well after 2 weeks in Europe. Other than the unfortunate (perceived) racism right at the start of the start of the stay, everything else would've been perfect.
