While the approach is lengthy, the summit rewards with breathtaking vistas. Cascade Mountain is a classic scramble that offers a sense of accomplishment and unforgettable views for those prepared for its challenges.

Challenging hike to the summit, but worth every effort!! The views are just breathtaking and pay off the challenge of summitting that mountain. After 3.5hrs hiking up i spent 1.5h at the top enjoying and admiring the valley and the views all around. If you're in a good shape you can hike up in 3.5hrs or even less and down in 3h. It's a doable but difficult hike, especially the last part - when you feel you're almost there - is not easy, because you think you are close, but still have a good and steep part to finish. If you're in good shape and like to be challenged, i highly recommend that hike. Bring water, bear spray, snacks for lunch and some layers, cause the top is always pretty windy. Safe Trip and enjoy😊

Amazing! Pretty much every type of scramble you could ask for - loose rocks, shail, soft dirt, hard dirt, big wobbly rocks, etc.. On the way up there are some orange markers that are quite hard to follow, but on the way down they become more obvious. In general most of the time the path is closer on the side towards Banff.

Not a beginner hike. Good shoes highly recommended, once around the final corner you will be on very loose rock on a steep narrow ledge with 500m+ cliffs. Poles are also a big help when navigating down the loose rocks until you hit the boulder field. Overall as a very in experienced hiker, with no scrambling experience, it took around 5 hours up and 4 down.

Definitely the route requires advanced orientation skills in finding the best choice in otherwise treacherous terrain. Make no mistake. Scarce orange "markers" can easily "disappear" leaving you following numerous, pseudo paths, made by equally disoriented hikers. The route calls for advanced skills in negotiating boulder fields and walking in loose scree. Something elase: You have to be 100% immune to any fears of hights. Otherwise, the hike is not signifficant, as it lacks any of high mountain features. No lakes, no water falls and no alpine meadows. Just strenous, at times risky scramble. Views are indeed 360 degrees arouns, but the same views are from neighboring, much safer to hike peaks. One more example of poor navigation: Any trail splits earlier in the forest are not marked, so it is your choice which way you would go. Good luck!

The hike isn't the easiest, please don't go wearing flip flops. The view is stunning. Coming down is a pure fun.

One of those majestic mountains in the Canadian Rockies. Visible along the transnational highway.

20.1km, 1806 elevation gain - but the views are amazing. Took me 3:13h to reach the summit from the norquay parking lot, around 2:30h to get back. So prepare for 6-10hours- based on your hiking level. Have fun!
