Cascade Wellness Resort (Lagos, Algarve) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"This hotel reflects the region’s traditional architecture. It combines the Algarve’s typical colours and a themed decor based on the discoveries of Henry the Navigator. Spacious public areas, a pleasant spa and highly comfortable guestrooms, all featuring a terrace. The hotel restaurant offers a varied choice of dishes." - Tablet Hotels

We had an amazing vacation. The staff were wonderful. Our two rooms were always well stocked and cleaned. The resort property is beautiful. The location couldn't be better. The (cheap!) Uber rides got us to Lagos daily. But we also spent lots of time poolside or walking the many easy to follow trails near by which had incredible scenery. We stayed for 1 week which enables us to do 3 excursions (all recommended): 1) the food tour (which also gave us a feel for the old city), 2) a boat tour to see the cliffs, and 3) a trip to Sagres which was very striking. I"m really sorry that some people had different experiences but ours was amazing. We saw a few ants outside our room but it was never an issue in either room. All staff were kind. The place is very well decorated. We hadn't had a nice vacation in a long time and this was the place I am glad I choose. Breakfast (daily) was amazing. Just sitting on our balcony was also great. I wouldn't change a thing.

Had an amazing stay at this hotel for 8 nights for our honeymoon! The pools were fab, always plenty of sun loungers, especially at the spa pool which was really quiet and relaxing. The rooms are really big and luxurious. The staff are brilliant, so attentive and friendly. The food and drinks are great. Overall would highly recommend staying here. (Also Al Nassr were training and staying at the hotel while we were there, if it’s good enough for Ronaldo..!!)

NOT A PREMIUM RESORT. Aside from the reception area and restaurants, the rooms and other facilities are all pretty tired - lots of toilets, doors, walls, lights with damage or broken, gym is very tired and nothing like the marking video, there is no golf facility and the jacuzzi was broken in the spa while we were there. The Location and restaurant service are great, however, maintenance service was terrible - notified the hotel our washing machine was broken 3 times and it was never fixed, our shower would overflow and flood our bedroom - also raised and no fix. We requested an iron and were given something that looked like an electrical death trap, patched up with insulation tape! This would be great as a mid priced hotel, however, it's not as marketed and not worth the price.

We ended up here by coincidence after our original hotel canceled our reservation last minute and relocated us — and honestly, it turned out to be the best thing that could’ve happened. This hotel was perfect, probably even better than the one we had originally booked. The rooms were comfortable, the atmosphere was relaxing, and everything exceeded our expectations. What started out as a stressful situation turned into a great surprise. Couldn’t be happier with the stay!

Absolutely perfect! I celebrated my birthday there about 2 months ago and what can I say… they were so kind and made me a cake, offered a bottle of champagne and a meal at their restaurant which is usually worth a lot and wow! Just amazing!! So I want to say thank you so much again, you guys are amazing and I 100% recommend this hotel! Everyone was so nice, the room was amazing so everything was 10/10😍

I’ll start on a positive note. The hotel has a wonderful location. We liked the friendly staff. Everything was handled very politely, and whenever we needed any help, it was resolved immediately. For example, a broken shower button was fixed in the morning while we were at breakfast. Speaking of breakfast, the selection was large, and everyone could find something for themselves. You could sit inside the dining area or outside at tables with a view of the pool and the ocean. If you want to stay for dinner as well, €44 per person for that kind of buffet is definitely overpriced. On the first evening, we were so tired that we had to stay in. The mocktails at the bar were very tasty. We ordered piña coladas several times. Takeaway food to the pool was also decent. I ordered a Caesar salad, and it was edible. Special thanks for the adapter for the Irish-type plug — I had forgotten mine, but the reception kindly provided one. Overall, the staff is friendly. Now for the negatives. I travel often and stay in many hotels, so I have something to compare. I have never seen a situation where a waiter wipes chairs after breakfast and then wipes the tables for the next guests with the same dry cloth… There was no disinfection. It was disgusting. Some food (for example, scrambled eggs) was cold and tasteless. Fortunately, there was a choice. The rooms do not live up to 5 stars — furniture and walls are scratched, the tropical shower leaks on your head even when it’s turned off. Water from the shower gets on the floor, so we had to change several towels a day, and the grout in the shower is long overdue for an update for hygiene purposes. And the cherry on top was the ventilation, which apparently hasn’t been cleaned in a long time, see the attached video. The iron leaked, and at the end I remembered that the jacuzzi didn’t work. I would rate the hotel 3.5 stars. Hygiene must be maintained. Check-in is late — 3:00 PM. I would not return here a second time.

We were nervous after all the terrible reviews lately, but all in all we had a good experience at Cascade. ||We really enjoyed our time here but not 5 stars. First, we stayed in the family apartment suite which was a perfect setup for our family of four. The kids shared a room and we had our own room and master bath. There was a decent size living room and a full kitchen. The outdoor balcony was also very spacious. The room though was showing signs of its age. There were stains on the carpet and sofa. The pillows on the bed were paper thin and uncomfortable. ||The rest of the resort was nice. The main pool was great and we always found a couple of chairs. The wait staff worked hard but they could use another member or two for the afternoons at the pool. We paid for the daily breakfast buffet with our room, which was plenty of food for the family each morning but no real changes to the menu day to day. That said, the breakfast buffet was expansive and had a wide array of food for kids, adults, vegetarians, those with celiac, etc. We ended up eating at the dinner buffet two times (once out of convenience versus choice). One night there was live music and fresh grilled meat and seafood on the patio dining. A lovely experience. ||The staff at the front desk were friendly, as was the concierge. The staff in the restaurant at breakfast were hit or miss in terms of friendliness and being helpful. ||People reported ants and we did see a couple on our last day. Otherwise, bugs were not a problem at all. ||As for the gym, it’s pretty sad. Just an open air room with a few cardio machines and some weights. We tried to use our phones for online classes but the WiFi at the resort is so bad, the classes just kept buffering. The gym is also in a partially finished building, so not very nice at all. That said, you can get a workout in here if you need one. ||Location wise, it’s a great spot if you are looking to still be nearby Lagos (which is a great town). We Ubered into town or drove to the parking garage next to the historic center. I don’t recommend trying to drive the streets of inner Lagos though. Park in the garage at the edge of the town (near mini golf?) and it’s a quick walk into town. ||From the resort, you can walk down to the beach by road out of the resort but it’s a good 15 minute walk down and it’s uphill the whole way back to the hotel. You can also walk to the beach along the cliff trails, but that’s even longer (30 minutes?) and not a big beach. If you want a great beach, we recommend heading over to Luz, where the beach is easy to access, has a lovely boardwalk with tons of restaurants, and all the beach gear you could want. Only a 15 minute drive from the resort, and easier to park in as a town. ||All in all, if you’re looking for a nice spot with room for the family, it’s a good choice. It’s just not a 5 Star/luxury resort.

Very beautiful resort, right by the Atlantic Ocean with direct access to coastal boardwalk. Amazing and very relaxing. One bedroom apartment was very spacious and well equipped. There were total of 3 pools including spa pool. Breakfast was a good spread although same things were served 2 days in a row during my stay. The only slighr downside is there was construction going on next door during my stay. Not the most pleasant and can be slightly noisy.

Yelp
Genuine service, especially at front desk, valet and at the bar. To be fair, I went in the off season. There weren't a lot of guests staying here. Maybe it's different in the summer vs winter? Breakfast was part of the stay package. It wasn't a cheap continental breakfast, they went all out. It was a resort. The price staying here was comparable was to airbnbs in the area. This was so much more worth it. Complimentary drinks at the bar, valet and access to the spa and pools were also included. It was a bit away from town in a residential area, but if you have car it's not a problem whatsoever. If you compare to South American resorts, there's no beach, but there are cliff/ocean views nearby. I was definitely consider coming back here if I'm in Algarve.

Yelp
What can I say about this magnificent place? It's sitting on the Atlantic ocean, so the views are out of this world. My hubby and I needed a relaxed day, so we decided to head over to Cascade for their resort and wellness spa. It was everything you wanted in a spa, Turkish sauna, couple messages, etc. Even enjoying the view, you can't go wrong. This place is a gem, and I've already had days booked for next year!

Yelp
This hotel is quite the stunner, and the accommodations offered go above and beyond! When you arrive at Cascade Wellness Resort, you immediately feel as though you made the right decision by staying here because it just feels so welcoming/inviting. The property is very well manicured and the rooms are clean, spacious and sophisticated! I had wonderful nights of sleep here, and while this is partly due to the comfortable beds, it also has to do with going to bed with a full and happy stomach! Yes, I ate several meals at Cascade Wellness Resort and was over the moon thrilled with everything I ate. There isn't one thing I would have changed! Well, no, I probably would have just ordered MORE! To help balance out my feasts, the gym located on the property (opens at 7am), helped me expel any extra energy I had before exploring what the Algarve has to offer! If you come to the Algarve, you absolutely need to consider Cascade Wellness Resort!
