Google
Such an amazing shop!! We came in a bit after the posted closing time and chose stamps that had to be made on the spot. Casey and his staff were so accommodating and quickly made them even though they were closing soon. The stamps are amazing quality and they have such a wide selection. I can’t recommend this place enough, will definitely come back when I visit NY again!

Google
Ordered a custom stamp with my own design and it came out beautifully. For those accusing the staff of being rude- did you actually interact with them? It was clear to me that they are a small team and extremely busy, everyone is heads down actively working each time I've visited. They must get hundreds of visitors popping in just to check out this cool shop and shouldn't be expected to chitchat with everyone. When I spoke up to get their attention, the girl stopped what she was doing to come up and answer my questions. Later when I picked up the order the owner asked if it was my cat in the stamp (it is). It was cool to see young people working alongside the master of his craft. Seems like they have good rapport with each other which is also great to see. I hope this shop lasts forever.

Google
What an incredibly cool store. Extremely small and cramped. No way you can fit a wheelchair inside. Can fit about 6 people? Lots of fun stamps to check out and a friendly store cat

Google
What an amazing store! I am a huge junk journaler and scrapbooker, so this store was like a candy store for me. All stamps are designed and made in house, and you can also request custom stamps. I loved looking at all the stamps on the shelves. You can also purchase stamps online, which I did as soon as I got home. I can't wait to come back here and get more!! The stamps can vary in price, and they are a tad bit on the high price side, but the detail and designs are so unique and beautiful that I think it's totally worth it.

Google
In Websters dictionary as illustration for “hole in the wall.” Inkstained cubby hole with a friendly kitty and staff. While you wait rubber stamps from a large and eclectic selection. You can smell the ink. Fab.

Google
Hit up Casey Rubber Stamps in NYC and it was such a cool find. I showed up early at 11:30, even though they usually open at 1pm, but the guy was super understanding and let me in since I’d traveled across the city just to check it out. The shop is packed with all sorts of beautiful rubber stamps—truly a treasure trove for anyone into print projects. Left with a bunch of great finds. This place is an absolute gem.

Google
I'm in town visiting my sister and I found the catalog for Casey Rubber Stamps and was SO intrigued. She told me how the owner has been doing this forever and the shop has been flooded recently due to... something? I don't remember, an article? Anyway, I needed to see it, I was too curious. It was everything I wanted and more. It reminded me of an old book shop or something; distinct smells, slightly messy with stamps all over, a shop cat, and an array of the strangest stamps. I should have bought the "Viagra Corn" one but decided to be more practical and get a "fragile" one instead since I can use it for my pottery business. This is highly worth a visit!

Google
Very nice experience, and fantastic gifts / souvenirs ! You might have to wait for 30 min to an hour for specific requests, so do not be in a rush while visiting !!

Yelp
We bought three stamps and they had them ready to go for us in less than 15 minutes. We went around the corner to pick up a coffee and by the time we came back they were ready! They also have the sweetest shop cat, a calico named Ratty. They have a huge selection and it's really fun flipping through their book. We got a birthday cake stamp, a book stamp (like a stamp able bookplate) and a dog and it came out to about $38.

Yelp
Such a cute spot in the East Village! Stumbled upon it and had the chance to pop in and would love to come back and spend more time here. I think it's particularly a really cool and thoughtful place to get someone a gift or as a souvenir. There is a huge selection of beautifully detailed and creative stamps! It's a lot of fun to browse, though would note that it is a tight space and there is a strong rubber smell (understandably). I think you can also make custom stamps here. I wish there was a bit more transparency into pricing as there were cute stamps I would have picked up but was in a rush and didn't want to wait in line to ask. Will have to come back again!

Yelp
Awesome, random, artsy spot to get whatever rubber stamp you might need! If you're just stopping in, there's a big binder of designs that can be made on the spot in just about 10 minutes! Nearly any icon you could imagine! They also do custom orders if you have something specific. I would recommend buying your ink pads elsewhere as there isn't a huge selection.

Yelp
I saw this shop on tiktok and it was a must visit while I was visiting the city! Super cool and unique place. Large amount of options for stamps and they can make it there on the spot if you'd like. Recommend stopping by to get a novelty gift for yourself or someone else!
google avatar

Katie O.

Yelp
I love their selection, it's so unique. Their store cat Ratty is an important part of the experience as is squeezing past other shoppers in this small space. I've never seen stamps for some of the items before. They have erotica too, which has got to be one of a kind?!

Yelp
There were so little rubber stamps on the shelves. The place was messy and dingy. I was excited when I saw a rubber stamp I liked that was in a book catalogue that had to be custom made. The guy said it would take 2 days. I called 2 days later and whoever answered the phone couldn't find my order and said to just come in and someone will make it? Well I wasn't going to go into the city if I wasn't sure it was done. I called a few days later and another guy that picked up couldn't find my order and told me to just come in because he couldn't talk and needed to hang up the phone! Obviously they never called me and never made the stamp. What a waste of time!

Yelp
Great selection, nice owners. They can even customize stamps. Be prepared tho, the shop is a little small and it can take some time for them to make your stamps on site. If they don't have the design in stock, they'll also just make another one for you from the catalog. Prices are ~$10 and they have ink pads in several colors. I will go again!! I even got a stamp to personalize my home library.

Yelp
This is a wonderful gem of a store! Great for any creatives who are interested print and more hands-on mediums. There was a wide range of pre-made stamps to choose from. You can also call ahead to make sure the shop has specific stamps in store. Casey was super helpful and such a character!
google avatar

Yelp
Even if you don't want to order old school stamps, stop by this East Village icon! Small, sometimes crowded, full of character. What might be called a "dying breed," Irishman John Casey makes stamps on site and also takes personalized orders. Stamps range from the regular "thank you" type to animals, anatomy, and racy sexual stamps. Prices reasonable. Fun experience and shop cat Ratty on site to supervise.

Yelp
One of those unique and old school NYC shops that put a smile on your face just walking in the front door. This place has been around for years, and I got my father some specially made rubber stamps and inkpads when he was a notary public in the city. I also got myself some for personal use because they are fun. Its a small crammed in place with literally 1000's of vintage designed rubber stamps of all kinds, and they make custom stamps based on need, design, and sense of humor. This place will make you chuckle when checking out some of the inventory. Great staff and the turnaround is not too bad. It's one of those eccentric types of businesses that should never leave us.

Yelp
perfect!! must shop if you like stationary goods. the street is very cute and the owner is cool.

Yelp
Something about this store gravitated me to go in. I am not sure whether it was the hundreds of rubber stamps showcased around the store or the awesome storeowner that patiently accommodated my request for a Pug stamp. I was initially disappointed that there weren't any premade Pug stamps available but he quickly found a model and made one on the spot! There are probably thousands of different styles you can select, and if you can't find something, in particular, he will try to find it. The stamp was about $8.00 and the ink pad is sold separately. It is refreshing to see a shop like this in the East Village. Definitely check it out if you are passing through!

Yelp
Absolutely in love! I've recently been inspired by stationary and scrapbooking, and this place gets recommended. I'm so glad to have sought out and visited here! It's a new year and I've uhm brought my new planners and notebooks and just stamped away haha. This is also near to another stationary store nearby. You could easily spend an hour or two pouring over everything. Staff is super helpful. You can also order custom stamps! A wonderful place to get unique gifts!

Yelp
We're all so addicted to our smartphones, laptops, and tablets that paper stationery has changed from a necessity to a novelty to now almost an obscurity in quick succession. That's why highly specialized small businesses like CW Pencil Enterprise (review: http://bit.ly/31jLeIE) and this East Village shop have become comforting beacons of the past, especially this crowded little closet run by an Irishman named John Casey who started his business in 1974. He has an irreverent sense of humor and shelves and shelves of handmade rubber stamps each costing $6.50. He makes them the old-fashioned way with a negative, a plate, and a mold, and consequently can do custom orders upon request. He also sells stamp pads in all sorts of colors. You have to come in here and take a look. RELATED - Planning a trip to NYC? Here's a collection of places I've visited and reviewed: http://bit.ly/2ZvQA2F

Yelp
Service was awful, store was messy if anything. Girl who took my small order was rude and snappy.

Yelp
Dreams come true at Casey Rubber Stamps. I have made so many stamps over the years, for every show and for the laundering of my cash: from Tubman, to LOVE, to my O.G., FOR PEACE NOT WAR. I walked in last week and said that through my experience I've realized Harriet Tubman needs a speech bubble that says, You're free. (something small enough to fit the space on a twenty dollar bill.) John says, "I get it. I like it. I'l do it. Come back next week. Does it have an exclamation mark?" I said, "It's a statement of fact." I pick it up today after or before having dinner with Amy Goodman, our living Tubman who brings Democracy Now! (just sayin') Thanks John!!

Yelp
These stamps are premium quality. I loved that the young woman offered me help and guidance. The cat was so friendly. I wish I lived closer to this place!

Yelp
Small & fun stamp shop in East Village that offers a range of designs and custom options. My favorite ones are the NYC buildings. Say hi to the owner and pick some up for yourself or gift to friends & family. #supportlocal!

Yelp
Very impressed with the custom stamp they made! Very friendly staff and great business to support.

Yelp
Push to door of this East Village first floor location and get transported in a world where creativity and small business entrepreneurship meet. A true remnant of the gritty spirit of East Village of the 70s-80s. The selection of stamps is wonderful and so varied, you will have a hard time choosing. Staff is helpful and patient, and also accept custom requests. Shop keeper's cat welcomes all visitors as a bonus. This store is perfect! Kudos to the owner for maintaining its authenticity and is vision after all these years.

Yelp
Custom Stamps and Comedy This tiny little stamp shop located in the East Village is packed from top to bottom with custom stamps and booklets of stamp prints they can make for you. My friend decided on a stamp of the brooklyn bridge from the book and the stamp master went to work. He is an old irish lad who i think is the owner was arguing with his helper it was hysterical. The one annoying thing is they will tell you 30 minutes for a custom stamp every time you want one but it is more like 1hr-1.5hrs. This place gets 5 stars for uniqueness, character, and just a cool shop.
google avatar

Yelp
Place is very cool. Casey is very nice. Stamps look good. But there needs to be more updated designs. I could custom my own design, but that would cost more than buying a regular stamp.. I tried to look through the catalog of stamps, but needed something more modern and sleek for a project I was working on. The type of stamps all seem like they are from the classical era and time period. Really wanted to buy something, but after 30 minutes of browsing at everything, I left empty handed..

Yelp
Overall my experience was extremely positive besides the fact that my boyfriend of 4 years decided to end our relationship while shopping here. It actually might have been one of the most difficult things I've ever dealt with. The only thing that made me feel better was the fact that I could continue shopping for lovely stamps. The atmosphere was extremely damp within the store. I felt like I had bronchitis. Beautiful dew drops were floating in the air. I asked the worker if they could braid my hair for me it kept falling in my face. I wonder what would have happened to me if I didn't decide to shop here that day. My apartment was burglarized while I was shopping here. They stole everything besides my grandmothers wedding ring that she gave to me before she died in a car accident. I think I left my hydro flask behind. I feel sentimentally attached to my hydro flask because I brought it with me on my birthright trip to Israel . My final conclusion is that I am very lost right now and I need someone to help me.

Yelp
I wanted to love this custom stamp experience but am very disappointed. I was recommended this shop by a friend who had a lovely experience getting a very special custom stamp made. I got a quick response from John after emailing and complimenting the beautiful work he did for my friend and asked for the exact same product except with my name and licensing information. He was very accommodating to make my first professional seal which I intend on having on display at my desk. I stopped by the shop the day after he said it would be completed, and the girl working there rushed to mount it instead of asking me to come back another day, which I would have gladly done. She mounted it as a regular stamp without handle/stain and I apologized and gave it back, saying that it wasn't what I ordered, and I would come back when it was ready. I was surprised with the quality I saw when I picked it up. There were visible, heavy set pen marks on the top of the wood, there was a sloppily applied label (my friend's was clean and nicely placed), and there was a sticky backing visible beneath the circle of the rubber stamp. The backing on the stamps on the website appear to always be cut around the shape of the rubber. Beauty is in the details, and if you want something done right, do it yourself. It took me less than 10 minutes to remake a label, remove the pen marks carefully with nail polish remover (which did slightly damage the stain and the indents from the marks remain), and remove the whole sticky back, cut around the rubber, and replace it back onto the wooden base. I feel like the quality of the product sold to me was not a matter of lack of skill, but presented as a response to having to remake it. As a design professional and artist, it baffles me that an artisan wouldn't take pride in their craftsmanship no matter how many times you have to remake something to make it right. The rubber portion and structure of the wood mounting are fine, and I'm happy with it now that I fixed the eyesore details. But seriously? This quality is uncalled for after I saw the beautiful stamp made for my friend.

Yelp
This place is wonderful. I needed a custom stamp recreated from one that I had lost. First of all, Mr Casey recommended I call the place where I originally got it to see if they had any more, saying "I'll gladly take your money, but I don't have to." If that's not a good honest dude, I don't know what is. I ended up having it made here and it turned out perfectly. I also bought a few more of their stamps from the shelves to add to my collection and I'm so excited, the stamps are so detailed and super cool. I would have bought them all if could.

Yelp
I bought a rubber stamp today from J.C. Casey; I've been a customer of his since he was over on Sheridan Square--that's about 30 years. He's the best; a few months ago I mentioned I'd like to see a shark stamp; well, today he had a page in his book of designs with sharks and orcas. He cut it out of a sheet of rubber and made a stamp on the spot for me. I've been carrying a return-address stamp with me for years, along with the stamp pad; a lot of people remark, "What a great idea!" And it is: I've saved valuable time and have no need for the crappy pressure-sensitive labels PeTA and other charities send me to try and guilt me into giving to them. Just a tip: with the current bedbug epidemic, J.C. now has a bedbug stamp! It's an actual-size bedbug, and you can get it for $3! Such a deal!

Yelp
I love Casey Rubber Stamps. The stamps are EXCELLENT in quality, and there are so many to choose from. Haven't yet had a custom stamp made, but I hope to soon. DON"T miss a chance to go see this amazing store!

Yelp
This place is awesome! They know everything you need to know about stamps. Very knowledgable and they have great customer service. Very responsive and quick. Their shop is awesome too! Be sure to check it out. I ordered a unique stamp and it was done within 4 days! Thanks Casey Rubber Stamps!
google avatar

Sabrina B.

Yelp
Fun unique place! It is SUPER tiny. You have been warned. But let me tell you Casey uses every single nook and cranny to display his stamps and anything else stamp related. There are inkpads available for purchase as well I took my time and leafed through every single page of the binder of available stamps. I wish there were some more modern stamps (many of them seemed from a certain time period - can't put my finger on it), but obviously they also make custom stamps too, which I figure is why this is not much of an issue. But I was able to purchase a wonderful simple stamp that I have not seen on any recent browsing escapes at stamping or scrapbooking stores - "Black Lives Matter". I grabbed and ran to the register in a blink of an eye - Thank you, Casey! How's THAT for modern, eh?
google avatar

Jocelyn H.

Yelp
Great little stamp store stacked with stamp options from floor to ceiling. I found much of what I was looking for and what they didn't carry they were happy to create for me. They even sat down with me and went thru font choices and options for my custom stamp. I was getting married and saves a ton on custom printing with my stamps and ink pad. They had my custom stamps finished within a day and it was on a holiday weekend! The staff was helpful and the stamps turned out awesome!!
google avatar

Alexis M.

Yelp
I walked into this place surrounded by such an array of rubber stamps I literally screamed like a little girl. I emailed the guys my files and got my custom stamps in three days time! On top of it all, their pricing is extremely reasonable I've got nothing but good things to say about them. The guys in here are magic-- super friendly and helpful, cannot wait to come back and get more stamps made :)
google avatar

Kim P.

Yelp
Emailed on a Friday to get a stamp for the following Wednesday. I was sent a proposal and confirmed within 5 minutes that I would like to move forward. Called on Tuesday to confirm that it will be ready on Wednesday and they have no record of the order being placed. I now have no stamp and now time to find another place. Barely got an I'm sorry. Awful customer service and communication. Emails are never answered and phones are never picked up. Such a shame as it was referred to me and has excellent reviews.
google avatar

Sherri M.

Yelp
What a cute little gem of a store! I feel like I walked into the bookstore in A Neverending Story. A local restauranteur was having custom stamps made for his menu so my friend had to wait a while to be rung up for some stamps and ink, but as another patron (who seemed to be a friend of the owner and was just chillin) pointed out, waiting in the cramped space is part of the charm.
google avatar

Rob R.

Yelp
As a small business owner, I love working with these small shops. Casey Rubber Stamps is this little shop in the east village of NYC. It is run by this dude with the thickest accent that knows more about stamps than anybody. You pay a little more for the privilege but you make a friend and get something genuine in return. In this day and age, that counts for a whole heck of a lot.
google avatar

Daniel B.

Yelp
Highly recommended. Needed same day notary stamp and it was done with wonderful quality and better price than what other big box stores charge online. I even got a free Guinness while I waited for my stamp. You can feel the history and pride this store takes in making their one of a kind products.

Ellie J.

Yelp
They will make a stamp for you right then even the exact stamp that you wanted is out of stock. It is dusty and small but totally worth waiting. My daughter's favorite place in New York she says. www.caseyrubberstamps.com if you cannot make it to the store.
google avatar

Ryan P.

Yelp
Who doesn't love a crazy Irish stamp enthusiast? Well I do, and I went to his wonderful store (right next to Odin) to satisfy my embossing needs. It's crazy inside, but he has a catalog with all sorts of unique stamps. I waited while he made mine...fresh, I guess. But I got some great stamps and I thought he was delightful. p.s. He also claims there are gremlins that hide things from him...hmm...whatever.
google avatar

Kelly R.

Yelp
So cool. The guy that (I'm guessing) owns the place is really a character, and they have tons of super neato stamps. I asked if they had a guinea pig stamp, and he said that they didn't, but they will in two weeks. His employee said, "We will?" So I think he might have decided at that moment to make a guinea pig stamp, which is awesome. They didn't have the squirrel stamp that I wanted on the shelves, so they made one for me in about five minutes! This place would be great for a DIY bride.
google avatar

Tara R.

Yelp
Terrible customer service and communication. Confirmed an email that asked if I would like my stamp Monday evening. Upon calling Monday evening to make sure it was ready, the owner claimed he had "No time" because "he had 67 other UN-answered emails and was too busy for my stamp." I cancelled the order. I hope he was half way through and now has to eat the $75 I would have paid to have it when it was supposed to be done.

Yelp
How cute is this little rubber stamp shop?! I wish I had come across it earlier in my short life... Brian C. and I were in the area for a 9pm dinner reservation around the corner. I saw the sign, "rubber stamps" across the street and asked wtheck is that?? I almost walked away but I'm so glad that my bf suggested that we check it out. He's always full of good ideas. We walked in and I was amazed. My eyes may have glistened. I guess the reason for this is that I never perceived a RUBBER STAMP SHOP! I now know what that means. Rubber stamps, like.. rubber stamps? Rubber ink stamps? hahaha, sorry. The jolly Irish man was a hoot! He seemed to really love rubber stamps, and has a deep knowledge of his extensive inventory. We came in around 8pm and noticed on the door that the closing time was 8pm. There were other customers inside and we didn't have enough cash to afford a stamp and ink pad [CASH ONLY, GUYS] so we asked what time he was closing because we needed more cash. He said that he'd be open til 8:30 if needed and directed us to the closest ATM [There's a Chase right around the corner on 2nd ave and 10th st]. We quickly returned with cash only to find even more customers inside flipping through the binder of stamps. I think I could really lose myself and spend hours here to explore out every inch of the store. I love owls and there was quite a selection. I saw a picture on the door but couldn't find it on the shelf. That's when the owner (?) told us that the catalog has a page dedicated to owls because they're a hoot! ;) Brian and I decided on our winner pieces but couldn't find them on the shelves. Both stamps were made right then and there in less than five minutes. They have sheets and sheets of stamps, organized by a unique ID number found in the stamp binders. I think they cut the wood on the spot too and put the pieces together. I dropped a star from my review only because I thought the price of each stamp was a bit steep.. especially after considering the sheets of stamps that are probably sourced at a much lower price than what we pay. For a 2'' by 1.5'' stamp, we paid $9. The stamp was awfully awesome though! I would still go back and probably pay a fortune on a gazillion stamps... and perhaps buy all the ink pads (so many colors!) and then get scolded for being a reckless spender of "junk" :(

Yelp
This place is the best. I drew my wedding invitation and had John at Casey Rubber Stamps turn it into a rubber stamp. The stamp itself is very high quality. John even photoshopped by design a bit to make sure my hand-drawn invitation looked a bit less sloppy :) I love this place. Also, my stamp was ready in two days. Pretty awesome.
google avatar

Konstantin G.

Yelp
Yup. It's pretty much all been said. John is a super nice guy and he is providing such a special service for a great price. This little shop is magical - and so is his jpeg-to-rubber stamp technology, which will create custom stamps of pretty much any image you've got. I had one of my drawings turned into a stamp 1.75 x 3 inches. It cost me about $40 three years ago, I've gotten tons of mileage out of it and it still works like a charm. Also a great selection of pre-made stamps for cheap. If you are even remotely interested in rubber stamps this place is a must.

Yelp
I stumbled upon this place looking for cheap art supplies on yelp and I am so glad that I did. l love stamps, but I am usually unimpressed by the selection of stamps and high prices at most mass retailers. The moment I walked through the door of this shop I could sense that its hole in the wall charm would guarantee some great finds. For such a small store there is an enormous selection of all kinds of fun designs. I must have circled the space at least 5 or 6 times, my eyes catching something new on each round. I ended up getting a couple of stamps and definitely plan on going back. The prices are pretty reasonable and those working there were friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend checking this place out. Also on a side note I found it hilarious that they had meme stamps.

Yelp
I got a custom stamp of a dog, and it looks amazing!!! They helped me prep the image and everything. Would highly recommend
google avatar

Yingna L.

Yelp
Amazing rubber shop! Everything's hand made and they work hard to customize stamps in a world where everything is now mass produced and rather impersonal. We wanted to give a cousin a stamp imprinted with the image of her cute dog. The owner worked closely with us to make it possible, and it turned out amazingly well. Loved the staff there and the vast array of stamps. They are truly creativity expressed in the unique form of stamps!
google avatar

Isabel U.

Yelp
These guys know what they're doing! I ordered a custom stamp through e-mail and got it the next day!. The stamp it's much better than other places I've seen and the turn-around was so fast I couldn't be happier. Also they have a wide range of stamps for you to pick and choose from. Totally worth the extra bucks. Awesome quality, and great service. I'll definitely be back!
google avatar

Yelp
Where else can you find a series of quirky Alice in Wonderland character stamps, frog, raven, octopi, horses, hot-air balloon, bicycles & vintage shoe stamps? The selection feels endless and are deftly categorized for easy browsing. There is also a catalog of more items should you be looking for that particular stamp. Whether you are trying to make fun invitations, spruce up your own stationary or get a fun stocking-stuffer gift, this place will deliver. Inkpads of different colors are available there as well as custom made stamps. The stamps are priced based on size ranging from $6-15 usually, the larger, the more expensive.

Yelp
Their stamps are awesome and completely reasonably priced! I try to find uses for new stamps so that I can buy more.

Yelp
Such a hole-in-the-wall gem! Reasonably priced with lots of options and even more so for custom maid. They don't have a great amount of options for ink pads, but they have the normal array of colors and don't run out of the colors they do have.
