The blackjack situation here is really bad. Not only does it pay just 6:5, you also need to pay $1 for each hand you play. I would definitely advise to stay away from this. Otherwise, this looks like a nice property.

Went on a Sunday morning ~9am just to check out the venue to see if it's worth coming in the future. The place didn't feel warm and inviting. Table games immediately after you walk in. Dealers just waiting around, looking at people walk by. Poker tables area to the right, and a café behind it. Bar is in the back right. Doesn't have slot machines, so it's moreso a card room, and not a casino.

Love the happy hour! All appetizers are delicious, and so are the drinks! Great place to munch on and watch sport events. Parking can be tricky after 5pm or so.

Went for a bite to eat. Food was not as good as it used to be. Prime rib set back because there was nothing about it that looked prime. Wings were fabulous and my husband enjoyed his Burger.

Worst experience on the blackjack table. Why? The dealer, shoutout to Missy, was very rude. Talking smack about the whole table and how we play. I was hoping for positive vibes. As we lose money, she kept making more rude remarks instead of having empathy. Like I said, no positive vibes from our dealer. Hearing “you should buy a hit chart” from the dealer was diabolical and it was the way she said it. I’m assuming she didn’t like a table of people placing minimum bets who were there to just play for fun. Less bets, less to no tips. She talking like we can’t hear her. Her out loud said “they are wasting these hands” meaning with minimum. Hey, I’m actually happy I made 5 bucks back. Why the negativity. Bay 101s dealers are more professional than this.

I was playing blackjack and winning, but before that, I had lost a lot of money. Now, I'm just getting back what I lost. The dealer told me that I already owed her a significant tip because I kept winning on the side bets (Lucky Lucky and Match). I don’t think she should have said that! Especially to players/clients—it felt off. It made me feel obligated to tip her every time. I do tip, but it should be at my discretion, not something that feels mandatory. I believe the company needs to train its dealers and employees to be more professional and uphold a stronger code of ethics. I'm really disappointed.

It was really an interesting casino. It was all card games. All different types of card games. It was very pretty and gorgeous. We had a really great time!!!

Can't Beat this place During the week for happy hour, starters and fill you up food. Irr the s convenient for us when we travel to San Jose And fly out of airport

Went for a late night drive and felt hungry. Went inside and it was confusing how to order. Went I finally ordered some wonton soup, it took 20 minutes to arrive because they forgot about it. Had I not said not said anything, I would have never gotten my food. Anyways so disappointed that I got basically soy-sauce and water, SOME wontons. Definitely did not tip.

A great place with a nice atmosphere and delicious food. The service is excellent. If you enjoy gambling and good food, this is the place for you.

Omg...We got the bad Experience and feel like my racism in my life.I feel like so enjoyable and fun at martix 8 before we met with Liqing who is dealer at our black jack table ;it's not about losing or getting money ;we won 200$ on that round and the way she talked is so bad customer service;My boyfriend wasn't noticed while we had conversation and he asked to put "Can I get more chips " but she replied "what chu want";so he thought it can be added but she threw back our chips back with bad behavior like bad attitude;we are pretty sure we would never came back only for her.We stay love Martix 8 the one casino around our behavior.

Brought my dad for Thursday's prime rib dinner. It was so busy since it is the nba finals and it's a holiday so there's more people than usual. Service was as good as it can be since it was packed. Glad that there is no smoking inside so we were able to enjoy our dinner. Only down fall was that I asked for some hot sauce but was brought soy sauce. Next time will need to try the other specials during the week.

I love coming here for the food & drinks. It's reasonably priced and not rowdy and nice to have a few over tasty food and good company. I've tried a few diff items but my favorite so far would prob be the calamari, sushi roll & mi goreng noodles. They have a good variety of food. Also make their drinks strong. Service is usually pretty good

Nice place to come and have a drink. To play is actually nice but they only have a few games and no slot machines. I like to play roulette. Overall place is nice but just to eat and drink.

Apparently I didn't get sexually assaulted is what the security guards wanna call it. Had the audacity to tell me "even a female manger went over it and said there was nothing" when there was a clear image of him passing by me so close he touched me and when I turned to see who it was my brother in law and I saw him smiling at me like a pervert. (I'm 26 and he was a short old Asian man) I got grazed on my butt as I was leaning against a chair. My man reported it. AN HOUR LATER, I got approach with two 40 males showing me proof of him clearly grazing my ass. We went back and forth with this shitty management and as soon as I told them "what if I was your daughter?" THEY BOTH STAYED QUIET!!! They knew they were wrong. That's why people don't report stuff like this cause of people like that. Such a shame. Never coming back here again. PLEASE BE CAREFUL WITH THIS PLEASE. THIS PLACE IS SKETCH FOR FEMALES

This place just robbed me of $1400 after I had been coming regularly and playing high stakes. See the player to my right with 3s...they never got a chance to hit (or split), but floor manager took zero responsibility and said it plays as is. Make sure and come here if you want to get screwed out of your money by incompetent jerks. FYI...Bay 101 is right across the street and Artichoke Joe's pays 3/2 on blackjack and they haven't robbed me yet (afaik)

Be aware! There is a woman at the poker desk named Linda who has shown me and others very discriminatory behavior. She is extremely rude specifically to Asians and will take tips and target Asians on the wait list, who she will move lower on the list even after you've waited for along time! She bullied people including myself multiple times and showed no remorse when I confronted her. Even when I threatened to tell the floor manager she said "go ahead". It's insane the unfair treatment someone like her gets away with especially when you've been waiting patiently. Watch it for Linda!

This five-star review is strictly for the restaurant -- I don't gamble, but I do eat well, and this place delivers. Hands down, the best steak and eggs in Silicon Valley. Zone 8 brings out a generous, colorful mix of fresh fruit that actually feels like a real side, not an afterthought. The vibe? Chill. It's never overly crowded when I've gone, and service is always smooth and efficient. Food-wise, I've worked my way through the menu -- the pho, sandwiches, and appetizers all hold their own. Solid flavor, great portions, and quality ingredients. Highly recommend giving it a try whether you're just grabbing a bite or making it a destination meal.

Went here for late night pho and got a bowl of water down noodle soup with no flavor. Service was okay but the guy who brought us the food dropped a spoon and still gave it to us. We asked for some additional ingredients but they didn't really have any. I wouldn't recommend the pho. We didn't try anything else on the menu.

Food (4/5): I always get the liquid lunch -- a NY steak, two sides, and a beer/other drink for $15 pre-tax is an amazing value deal especially for the Bay Area. They are able to deliver on the rareness of steak I ask for, medium rare, each time. The food isn't going to Michelin star level obviously, but the food is decent enough to scarf down. Service (4/5): I've only had good service--the bartenders, waitresses, and cleaning staff have always been courteous and kind. Ambiance (4/5): There is bar seating and table seating. I've only gone during a weekday lunch hour, but both the casino and the food seem to get a good amount of business. I've been to M8trix multiple times, and I've had a good experience with the food, service, ambiance.

The manager Linda was completely rude and very discriminatory and she only pick favorites of her workers. She yelling at customers and workers, I will never ever come back here again! Bay 101 better.

The venue is beautiful. The venue manager is a bit rude and cold. If they have someone better this place would get alot more event bookings. For now, dont recommend booking this place for your corporate events.

I come here for happy hour. Half price on all appetizers! I like their plain wings with a side of ranch! Also if you want to come here to play poker be willing to wait up to 2 hours before you get a seat. The lighting here is very dim on the casino floor(a bit depressing); however the bar & restaurant has brighter lighting, and much livelier.

The Prime Rib is the best I've ever had. So juicy and cooked to perfection. The staff at Lotus Cafe who takes orders is also energetic and cheerful.

Dave L and Mike are the absolute best bartenders you could have at a business like this. I have gotten introduced to many friends because of these guys. Being a new guy in San Jose I appreciate the kindness these guys have showed me.

Their Hong Kong wings are one of the two best wings, I have ever had. (The other being Chaplin Sports Bistro in Union City.) The drinks and the baristas at the bar are both good. First time was great. Second time was just alright. In spite of it being a casino the dining areas were really clear of any gambling and I like it that way. I go there just for the food. Parking can be a pain sometimes. Such a large lot and it is always almost full you have to drive around to find the rare empty spots.

The service here was absolutely awful. The food was not so good. DO NOT GET POTATOES OR SQUASH!!!! THEY DONT KNOW HOW TO COOK THEM! They were soooo hard and undercooked it was extremely disappointing. The waitress was so ignorant and careless of how horrible it was. I couldn't believe how much she was careless of the situation. We had to wave down our waitresses like 5 times or more. She never refilled our water and we had to ask multiple times. She didn't give us plates either. We had to ask someone else to help us out. I would HIGHLY recommend going elsewhere because it would be best to starve and just gamble than eat at this place with the cooking management and horrible service.

Some guy ran in and took my chips and ran out. They had me wait for over an hour to talk to security and then they did not reimburse me.

I love that they have a 24 hour food menu it's limited but this is probably one of the few places where you can order pho fried rice chicken Alfredo pasta and Cesar salad at 4am Kind & friendly staff Great place to watch sports games. It's cool that the employees wear sports team jerseys when there's a game on.

I love their fried rice. Decided to spend the night in playing monopoly with friends so we decided to order some Asian food. I know it's a casino. I know what you're saying, but you can't knock it until you try it really love that fried rice definitely I must have.

Be aware of the receipt from Zone 8 Sports Bar & Grill generated tips. 18% of $35 should be $6.3 for tip , they typed in $11.34. No tips for TAX. Why do they add the tips for tax.

Always a fun place to go! I went there to watch the 49'ers game while a friend sat at the poker tables. No sound was on. The drink and food prices are average for a casino. I ended up meeting a cool couple and went salsa dancing in Campbell afterward. It was a fun time! The reason for the four stars is that at the time of my visit, it didn't appear they had enough wait staff to cover the floor and the poker tables so hailing a waiter was a chore. Maybe I'll have a better experience next time.

Happy hour drinks. I've been here multiple times and this is not what they serve you. I ordered an old fashion. I asked the server why I got half a cup she said it had one shoot of vodka? What!? I'm confused, i thought it was bourbon. The server was clueless on what an old fashion was. The bartender was rude when I said we haven't been served

Came back on a non warriors game night but on a night w a couple big nba games. Unfortunately still the same results...Terrible service!! Took 10m to place a drink and apps order and they did come more quickly than in the past but after that, we had to wave our waitresses down to order. You would think with a 10 person table (and we were all drinking and eating) they would come back more often but I guess not. Not only do they not have waitresses but not that many bus people. Here's some pics of all the dishes stacked up. We felt bad that the buster was busy but once we stacked em, she never came back!! Wth

This review is based on the vibes, drinks and foods. We sit near the bar, they have summer $5 drinks which is a great deal. We had sushi and it's delicious. Overall we enjoyed our food and the vibes, it's way better than any restaurant.

Absolutely LOVED the service at the casino bar here, specifically want to shoutout our AMAZING bartender Coy who made the experience amazing here and REMEMBERED our first drink order when we went to reorder the SAME thing an hour later!! Loved her and she has great vibes, will be coming back just for her in the future! Also shoutout to an amazing server by the name of Melat who was absolutely lovely and made my boyfriend and I feel so taken care of the way she served our food to us. Overall great experience, VERY professional security here who make us feel safe & LOVE their servers!

Four different people ID me , the lady with the wing is super rude about it , the guy with the braid says it's state laws however I've been to this Casino so many times before and this has never happened . They could've handled it completely different . They made the whole situation uncomfortable. They could've handled it differently.!

Cool place next to my hotel. It's a hotel too with a big poker room on the main floor with all kinds of board/table games you can play. The sushi place is a joke. Don't order the caterpillar roll because there's no eel on it. The poker was fun and the people all seemed really friends including the dealers and players. If I am back in the area I will go back

Great service even though it was lunch time. Food portions were great and all of our 5 plates were brought at them same time. Kudos.

Prime rib special was a miss. They don't know what medium rare means. I don't like to send food back because that's when they spit in it. Please don't serve overcooked food.

The worst experience. When my cousins from Canada, aged 21 and older, visited, they were denied drinks at the bar due to their Canadian IDs. Despite being allowed to gamble, the casino employees refused to serve them. This policy reflects poor customer service and restrictive regulations. It's disappointing that this place gladly takes people's money but won't serve the drinks we're willing to pay for.

I'm not a casino fan. I always thought they have mediocre food because they cater to people who get hungry when the gamble. It was a holiday and this place being one of the few places open, my friend n I came to enjoy apps. The place is typical casino bar. Big tvs, lots of bar seats, tables etc. ordered chicken wings: flavor was there but they were dry. We didn't finish it. Chips with melted cheese and pico de gallo : they were okay. Service was okay. The bartender doesn't seem to like my friend. lol. Didn't bother me. lol. I'd go for "drinks" here again if I don't have much choice.

you pay commission to play. ie: i bet $1000 i bet an extra $10 so when i win im really just winning $990 lol casino already makes money. ill stick with playing baccarat in norcal areas or nevada for that matter when i play high limit. everything else around is nice interior, havent tried the food. just came to gamble and hated the commission bs

Pleasantly surprised they had a sushi confidential here. Great place for a late night snack I think it was like 2 am I got like $100 worth of sushi and crushed it haha! I will make sure I stay at doubletree across the street walking distance on future stays in San Jose :)

The prime rib dinner on Thursday night is a great value! If you haven't had a chance to try it yet, I highly recommend you do. It promises a delicious meal at an excellent price.

So disappointed. I just spent $56 for take out. Not good. The Loaded Baked Potato was not really "loaded," and worse, the potato was undercooked. No one wants to eat an undercooked baked potato. Also, the Street Tacos came with flour tortillas instead of the corn tortillas described on the menu. I don't know ANY Mexicans who make Street Tacos with flour tortillas. The spaghetti was OK, mas o menos. I just expected better from Matrix.

This review is long overdue! My boyfriend and I moved to Santa Clara two months ago, and we occasionally enjoy gambling, especially playing blackjack. While exploring the area, we discovered M8trix, and it has quickly become one of our favorite spots. From our very first visit, we've had an amazing time. We've been back numerous times, and every experience has been exceptional. The dealers are always fun, engaging, and incredibly friendly, which makes the atmosphere even more enjoyable. On one occasion, while I was standing and watching my boyfriend play, a kind staff member brought me a chair and offered me a seat. It was such a simple gesture, but it really stood out and made the experience even better (he gambles for a long time, haha). Beyond the great service, the food is fantastic. My boyfriend and I especially love coming here just for their Philly cheesesteaks--they're that good! Overall, M8trix has become our go-to spot. Whenever friends come to visit, we always end up bringing them here, and it never disappoints!

Is it legal for casino managers to exploit their position for benefit? Under what umbrella that managers can have independent pay dealer school while they work for an establishment for benefit? Well, I don't think I've ever witnessed such shady activities until I spend the last year at Matrix. Dealer school are 3,500 hundred to 5k. Event if you don't work at Matrix, if you have the money you are in. For the people that are already working at Matrix can't attend because of the price. SUPPOSE TO BE FREE! Hiring people to run the poker floor that never worked in a casino as a floor or a dealer. If you already worked there and what the position they just brush you off. Also, if you speak up, there is repercussions. If you bring it up to HR, they relayed the complaint to the shift managers or the MANAGERS. I feel obligated to make a comment on here because I don't think what they are doing is appropriate. Good to hear other opinions on this topic. Thank you!

Hit or miss on the dealers being interactive or just completely silent. The crowd is usually very laid back. A lot of sports fan seem to go there. A lot of Asians including myself take up the majority there. Their food is really good!

This is for the food. They have liquid lunch special daily with a 9 ounce good quality steak, and two copious sides like broccoli or cauliflower or beans. You also get a glass of house wine or a 20 ounce beer Start of the year was a great value for 16$. But they 1/2d the size of side and increased price to 18 a few months ago. Now it is 20$. So smaller portions and -a 25% price increase in a year. Still reasonable value but not great

Very beautiful decor for every holidays. Sometimes i come here for food only. The steak was kinda chewy but the fries was crispy i love it.

My experience here was absolutely despicable but please be aware that this review is primarily focused on Black Jack & nothing else. The only black Jack provided is black Jack that pays out "6:5" which pretty much causes the player to lose out on money (even the dealer mentioned that it will hurt the player financially & that they used to have regular black Jack in the past). On top of the already losing black Jack the player is playing, there is a $1 fee for every hand played & if you love the game, after an hour or two of play you're down $100 or more just off entry fee alone. If that wasn't bad enough, the game is played with 8 decks & the shoe gets reshuffled before you can even penetrate the deck to potentially get better odds. To regular black Jack players or locals trying to enjoy this game/new/or want to learn, they will have no understanding of the disadvantage they have before the game has begun. It's sickening that we the people support a business such as this blindly, legal robbery. I'd recommend GSR, Cache Creek or somewhere further outside of the Bay Area.

Played some poker there and it was pretty good action. They take a rake of 7 dollars regardless of the pot size which was odd to me. They charge for drinks and they're not cheap. Staff was friendly though. The craziest part was that I tried to play some baccarat before leaving and they charged a mandatory 1 dollar tip before I was able to play a hand. This felt like robbery.
